My addictive mushroom rice recipe made with dried Chantrelle mushrooms and basmati rice!

The amazing thing about rice is that it can absorb the flavors from any other ingredients that you add to it. Rice is like blank canvas. And in this recipe, I'm going to show you how you can use dried mushrooms to make a delicious rice that has the aroma or mushrooms and smoked salt.
This rice dish is made with basmati rice and dried Chantrelle mushrooms. But the cool thing about it is that you can make this rice with with any dried mushrooms that you can find and it will be a uniquely delicious dish that will take on the flavor of those particular mushrooms.
Drying mushrooms is not only a method of preserving them, but the process also intensifies the flavor of the mushroom. So, when you reconstitute them (add water back into them) not only do the mushrooms come back to life, but the water becomes permeated with the flavor and aroma of the mushrooms. This is can be called a "mushroom tea" or simply "mushroom water."
Mushroom tea made from dried mushrooms has been used to flavor sauces, soups and various dishes for over hundreds of years.
