I'm just a 66 year old country boy, with no musical background, that has absolutely no rhythm whatsoever, so I generally stay away from vocal coaches and teachers that feel the need to stop the video every 15 seconds to explain what Angelina is doing, and their opinion as to whether she is doing it correctly. Angelina is 15 today. Happy Birthday Angie! She is barely 13 in this performance. This is a tribute to Freddie, and she knows the special meaning of the song. I believe this is one of her best performances. I've heard many artists cover this song, and some are exceptional (Celine and Dimash). But other than Freddie's performance, this cover by Angelina is my favorite. For me, this is her best technical performance: tone, range, power, and incredible breathe control. And it's not even studio produced---great backing track (karaoke track I think), fantastic microphone, one take, and Voila! How would you like to step into karaoke night and hear that? AMAZING!! Great reaction; looking forward to more. 💕
Thank you for your reaction video and happy birthday to Angelina Jordan, 15 years old today. Angelina is using KaraFun karaoke track for this song which is slightly different than the original. As for your comment about her almost going out of tune, I’m very sure that is intentional. Angelina started singing at a very young age and fell in love with Jazz music. Her “almost going out of tune” is very common with many jazz singers. Some refer to it as back-phrasing or front-phrasing to create more “tension” as you mentioned. Thanks again and I look forward to your next reaction video.

not necessarily KARAOKE tracks, but tracks that are compiled and used by vocalists to develop, and make such you tube videos. They are generally better than Karaoke tracks from what I had read. or heard from another vid-reactor here.
@Gus Erland I'm not sure why you say that, but Angelina credits "Karafun" in her video description. That would be KaraFun Karaoke. Here's the very track that she used: ua-cam.com/video/WIcL6EpHRXA/v-deo.html It doesn't appear that she changed it at all.

I don't mind when she uses karaoke backing tracks, I love to hear her sing anyway, but it's true that she is at her best when she takes control with a single guitarist or live musicians.
Have you reacted to Angelina Jordans new EP. She's 17 now and making genre cocktails. Different funky beats, great lyrics and a seductive, soulful jazzy vocal. She shows in this EP a coming of age confirmation that not only is she OLD ENOUGH but she's stepping up integrating the best of her musical studies of past greats with a cocktail of music we simultaneously feel we sort of almost should recognise....in such a way as its totally new. She fearlessly goes where ever she wants even slipping in a line of what could be called melodic RAP into DIAMOND. ....must say my favourite is the deeply emotional NOW IM THE FOOL. Black and white MV performance.
Your reviews are superior to any others on UA-cam... you have true knowledge of all the complexities it takes to produce a great performance... the end product... and of course Angelina is something from another planet....
Angelina doesn't have a home studio, she has her "Music Corner" in her living room with no special acoustics. It's just a keyboard, mic, computer & a chair. BTW, did you notice she was sitting while belting. You know if she stands up she's getting serious. Happy 15th birthday, Angelina, I love everything you do & stand for, although you have ruined my appreciation of many other singers that I used to like , but now find them boring.
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have really enjoyed all of your Angelina reactions. They have been done with professionalism, respect but above all I can tell that you love her talent as much as us fans. Well done, great work.
She is so, so special. I cannot compare her to anyone. Musically, there are so many wonderful singers in the world and bless them all. But, one of them stands alone. A young girl who touches our heart and soul with her voice whenever she sings "for us". I know she has touched your heart and her love will never leave you. It's remarkable and when you learn a little about her as a wonderful human being, put those things together and, lets just say, not many people get off the elevator on the floor she gets off at.
As for the tuning coming to the edge, this is, I believe the solid jazz background she had even before the NGT show. These backing tracks are downloads and usually credited wherever first posted...
Angela and Jordan I think she’s been touched by an angel her voice is divine climbing there’s no tension in her voice is actually relaxes me wow she’s a star that’s gonna shine brightly for a very long time to come!!t🌟
Her effects that are confused with added electronic effects are amazing and never seen before. Watch her mouth & jaw in Million Miles. Those effects are her natural sound she creates.
DJ - I hadn't seen this one before....thanks for a new Angelina adventure !! Thanks to Nonnie for suggesting it too!! Angelina has so darned many great songs in her inventory that it is hard to keep track. Hello Angelina, hope you're feeling great. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Well, I got goosebumps! I don't know what else to say! You're FANTASTIC as always! Thank you again. 🙇🙇🙇🙇❤❤❤❤
TODAY is her 15th birthday. Jazz was Angelina's teacher. I have heard the subtle "adjustment" of pitch in her voice for a while and have always thought it was a jazz inspired effect .. like holding the consonant between phrases. She is brilliant.
Angelina is fantastic on the council rendition for way less than perfect no one Sounds like her I think she’s been touched by an angel her voice is divine
Angelina is fantastic! I think she and Dimash Kudaibergen is the "Queen and king" of vocals. I have seen that reactors often react to both of them so i would love you to react to Dimash " SOS" Hi from Sweden🇸🇪
You can pin her age with the mic, she got that one at her 12th birthday and her homevideo era ends at age of 13. After recording AGTC at 13 there's a one year gap and now she obviously has access to professional studios. When she's using a fixed backing track, she usually credits the source in the description. I believe she's just using whatever is available on the internet, except the Miley Cyris cover where Mark Ronson gave her the original track. At least I don't hear any differences to the karafun karaoke track she credited here. Isnt "young" a very relative thing, considering she has 11 years of singing experience at that point? I understand playing around the key is a jazz thing. So thats something she played with since beeing a toddler of 1,5 years. The age we played with mud she played with music (and a large cupboard full of dolls). Imagine what that does for the connections in your brain, its probably totally ingrained by now.
Her "natural/God Given Talent" is a bit shocking yes... check out her video in recording studio at age 6 doing "I Who Have Nothing". She does her own "adjusting/conducting" to her covers. The 2 songs she's done on her own are very good. She has also done a show with Quincy Jones and James Blunt. She has concerted all around the World...she is Very Special, Very Unique.
Interesting observation about going almost out of tune and going right back on cue. I observed the same thing, and you're right, she does that a lot but it is most noticeable in this song!!! She's amazing!!!
@@yves2932 I've seen dozens of other reactors to this song and no one made that observation. Some use the term back phrasing or forward phrasing, perhaps they mean the same thing, who knows!!!
@@claudest-gelais8456 But isn't back-/forward phrasing about the placement of the words? Meaning slightly before or after the beat for emphasis and to create empty space? What he's talking about is the key, meaning how low/high she's singing. Sounds to me like two completely different things. But I'm no expert.
@@yves2932 You are correct, Yves. Two different things. Btw, comment sections have mentioned her "quarter tone drag up to full tone" under this song before. I have, for sure 😊
@@yves2932 I'm no expert either lol :) But your explanation makes more sense. I'm learning a lot from you guys and gals, but one thing I'm sure we all agree on is that she is phenomenal!!!
No doubt in my mind Angelina is the most naturally talented musical artist of my 62 years. She has captured my heart and takes me to places unimagined. Happy 15th birthday Angie.
Angelina, at 15, is a singer, composer, arranger & author. She strikes me as a young person who has never even entertained the thought “I can’t do that”! Thanks for your review.
Yes, Happy 15th Birthday today, January 10, 2021, to you Angie. I wish you the best, and I know this is your year to really shine. I hope you receive everything you deserve as an artist, and a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece and cousin. You deserve the rewards for all the years you have brought joy, assistance, and inspiration to others less fortunate, and for the musical magic you have given us all. Again, Happy Birthday Angie!
I love this song too, I only heard her about a month ago and I still can't process how that massive voice comes out of such a little person. I wonder if she has a close relative who is a vocal coach, it seems like she started learning to sing as a toddler. Also, are you planning on reviewing Geoff Castelluci's new song Radiohead's High & Dry? I don't know if I am the only one who keeps getting stuck on the amount of control he has at the upper end of his range? The lower end is noteworthy, yadda, yadda, but the ability to have such a breadth of range and seem just as comfortable way up there in the rafters? Edited to add original artists name.
Hi. I love this song too. Listen to the version sung by Dimash. It is amazing. Brian May and Roger Taylor heard that he did a cover and said they really liked it and thought it was great! If you haven't heard of Dimash then you need to! One of the best singers in the world today. Listen to his songs on The Singer 2017. Start with SOS and Sinful Passion and go from there. He is doing an online concert on 16th January. Going to be amazing!
Angelina started singing at the age of 18 months. She later discovered jazz music and fell in love with that genre. She did attend an after school music and performing arts classes. 15 years old today, happy birthday, and already has 132 songs under her belt including few originals that she composed. Recently signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. She released her first song “Million Miles” under that label and currently working on an album of all original songs. Here is a link to a video put together by Rusty Shackleford, a very dedicated fan, that includes short clips of her 132 songs. ua-cam.com/video/VvEZt2tpzb8/v-deo.html The songs are listed alphabetically under the description of the video. The full versions of the songs are available on UA-cam or on Angelina’s channels. Thank you for reading and listening.

Jazz .. She learned that from Jazz .. she is a Master. Amazing. Now, Queen is abig fan of Angelina's since she did her version of Bohemian Rhapsody, which they loved so much they posted it on their page and invited her to do covers of any of their songs she wants to cover. I believe (the following are just guesses:) 1. that it was Queen who gave her that mask when they knew she was going to do this song .. because of over 110 covers I have watched of Angelina's, i have never seen a prop. and 2. After your question re: the accompaniment, I would guess that might have been them also, but truly I do not know if Angelina plays around with the background music she sings to. It's certainly possible but just something i haven't thought of or considered .. so good question. ) So .. the thing about the mask may well just be UA-cam rumor .. but sounds good after seeing that they did post her cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. Is this confusing enough? 🤪
AJ fun Fact like in this video the art in The back ground is her grandmother's original paintings,, also many of the clothes she wears are her grandma's art printed on material and sewn into her costumes,, and she sells some also
I have no knowledge of music with that said she is just brilliant. I still believe that she has a soul or many souls inside her that she draws from to be this special. A.J. started at 2 years old singing how else can you explain what she has achieved in a short amount of time.
Interesting that you mention the ability to controlling her pitch so as she can get out of and into it as she feels it adding to the music, - and that you find it remarkable for such a young singer. You can check out her performance of "Fly me to the moon" when she was 8! (ua-cam.com/video/nBGMQ9Kx9iI/v-deo.html). At 3.39 in that video she hits the long, high note slightly below pitch and slowly slides into it ending perfectly on spot. (- I guess she was born with some of that musical intelligence - and listening to jazz from a very young age did certainly nourish it.) Add to this the same ability to singing more or less off beat while keeping the pulse steadily within her, and her clear understanding of the importance of volume. Put in the attitude of always giving the song maximum of what it deserves and what she has got, and finally sprinkle the music with embellishments, ornaments, runs or whatever, and you have the magic that is Angelina Jordan.
Another young lady to listen too, is Angelica Hale. She is now 13, and does covers and also songs that she has written, She was the youngest runner-up in AGT history in 2017. She has quite a list of songs that she does on YT
Don't know if this could happen but to hear Angelina discuss why, on a given song, she makes the specific arranging and vocal choices she makes would be fascinating to listen to. It might be, though, that she is just so instinctual about music that her choices are intentional but reflexive "because that is what is needed" rather than being a mental process per se. Great reaction, you probably know to expect more surprises from her!
You got her on recording studio in her home normally she does it on turn on whatever she’s got bailable to get all the soundtrack to me and the boys to match the soundtrack. This song is a Masterpiece where she signs it.
Hi DJ. I love your reactions to Angie & the info you give. Keep them coming. (Angie was 13 here). The backing tracks, Angie will use karaoke tracks sometimes & she'll sometimes speed them up or slow them down or if the track allows she'll manipulate the sound sometimes also & a few she'll do the mix herself sometimes & she'll use actual backing tracks other times she uses real musicians or she'll play the piece herself her way via piano or guitar etc etc. (So on this this piece, I guess only Angie knows for sure.) “I’m still holding out for you” by Baby Fuzz ua-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/v-deo.html (she’s 10 almost 11 when this was originally recorded & it was used as a demo.) This song so many think of it as one of her masterpieces that will never be released. (This is a leaked song/video) You should check the original by Baby Fuzz, you hear how different she made it & at 10. (here’s the link) ua-cam.com/video/q5HsABS4OXQ/v-deo.html Ignore the trolls that pretend to be Angie fans just to get reactor not to react to her anymore. Us fans apologize for them.
She arranges her own music in most cases even at the age of 10 . I'm in my 70's and have loved music all my life not any one type but when she sings its like she sings to me .. I enjoyed your reactions . Thumbs up 👍
You ask very detailed questions about what she did and how when it comes to preparing a song for her to cover. We are not there. Most of us have not met her. We are fans. One thing we do know is how many times she does one take and that yes, in various covers she has the words put up nearby and sometimes reads them as she sings. There are two videos with each of the guitar players she sings with .. in the States and in Norway. Ivan Mendez is the one here and I can't pull up the name of the guy in Norway. Both are excellent. In those videos they are interviewed by Alan Papier and we learn a lot about how they spend the time before and then how they get ready for doing a song. It is through them that we know that most of the songs are one take. These guys certainly knew her and spent good time with her and her familly, too. I believe it is her grandmother that is her videographer most of the time .. but I don't recall where I learned that. She is most definitely her muse .. and Angelina adores her. She is a very talented artist. It may well have been mentioned in one of the guitarist's interviews.
Related to the comment about coming close to being off key, but adjusting just in time. When I first started listening to Angelina several years ago, I feared she would be late in delivering the next line, but she always hit it with perfect timing. I guess it was because it took me a few turns to realize just what an accomplished professional she really is. She knew exactly what she was doing, and how to do it, and I didn’t.
I just find it most interesting when other reactors to AJ make the statement that she knows how to pick a song that suits her voice. At that point you understand they have not explored her other performances, if they had, they would know she has no boundaries. AJ takes any song, no matter what the genre and make it her own.
As chronology is done - Watch Wicked Game by Chris Isaak next. It is just her playing piano. Her rendition is really wicked. You'll love it. ua-cam.com/video/5IAMF4FDfw4/v-deo.html
She's been doing that thing of circling a note and then landing on it since she was 8 or younger. She once said she had been lucky to find Billie Holliday (who used that technique so beautifully). "Without Billie Holliday, there would be no Angelina Jordan." I believe that's the accurate quote.
I believe that audible tension comes from her earliest mentoring by early jazz greats. It's now a fixed vocal asset of hers. That jazz foundation has to be the best initial training a singer can have.
In the information section on her video, Angelina is crediting the instrumental track to *_Karafun,_* an online karaoke site (UA-cam channel: "KaraFun Karaoke") - I suppose this is the track she's using ua-cam.com/video/WIcL6EpHRXA/v-deo.html
Angelina typically does her own arrangements.. but in this song, she seems to be pretty much doing Freddie -- and beautifully so -- she knows when an arrangement cannot be improved upon -- I think that similarly when she sang Unchained Melody - she totally did Bobby Hatfield (yep - she was young.._ ua-cam.com/video/wGjqXxQbFgA/v-deo.html - and OMG this one - stunning! (she is channeling Elvis, I think) - who knew she had this depth! ua-cam.com/video/WLAEy1LIHrc/v-deo.html
Liked...no, LOVED and subbed. We love our barefoot angel (I'm an atheist but she is still an angel). It has been almost a year, but if you are reading this, I'd Rather Go Blind is yet another stylized arrangement with phenomenal vocal fry and rasp.

There’s a new Angelina Jordan reaction coming out! Members of my Patreon or those on UA-cam membership will have access to it early :).
Happy Birthday, epic one! Angelina my favorite singer. Thumbs up sir and thank you.
Like the direction you are taking with Angelina. You are on a run and she has the material you need to keep it going.
Excellent reaction.Angelina Jordan goes slow rock.
Your reviews are superior to any others on UA-cam... you have true knowledge of all the complexities it takes to produce a great performance... the end product... and of course Angelina is something from another planet....
Today is ANGELINA JORDAN Birthday she 15
and word is, over 6 ft 1 inch tall now.
@@yousurf374 I think she sprouted when she was 13.
Many of us have that feeling.
likewise!
Yes 😩
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have really enjoyed all of your Angelina reactions. They have been done with professionalism, respect but above all I can tell that you love her talent as much as us fans. Well done, great work.
What a kind thing to say. Thank you 😊
Thank you. This is why I watch reactors like yourself. I learn something new about Angelina's techniques. Gets you closer to understanding her.
❤️ your reaction 👍🙂,and Happy Birthday Angelina from a big (108 kg 😩) fan 🎂🎁🌹🌹🌹🎊🎉🎈👍🙂❤️❤️❤️
your face truly shows your insane love for Queen, and vicariously for Angelina
Angelena is an iconic singer and can take on any song as she proved that this masterpiece song of the show must go on. Your reaction set it all thanks
I seem to love 'em all, so please keep 'em comin…and Happy Birthday to Angelina today...and to you DJ tomorrow !!
Hi from the UK, a great reaction once again. This track is insanely amazing, I just love everything about it, one of my favourite Angelina covers.
Angelina is 15 y/o today
Hello Angelina, hope you're feeling great.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well, I got goosebumps!
I have seen that reactors often react to both of them so i would love you to react to Dimash " SOS"
Hi from Sweden🇸🇪
EXELENTE ESPECTACULAR ,UNA VOZ UNICAAAAAAAA MUCHOS EXITOS ANGELINA QUE SIEMPRE SEAS FELIZ 😇😇🦶🦶👍👍👍👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤❤❤💯💯💥
Angelina Jordan
How Great Thou Art
Happy birthday Angelina
🥳🥳🥳
Great reaction. She probably painted the mask. If not her, her grandmother. I don't know but she is so talented I wouldn't be surprised
I didn’t know she’d worked with James Blunt..do you have a link? Cheers and happy new year ))

Born pure talent! What a voice!
Wicked Game cover .Great reaction. Hi from Italy
And while singing she launches smiles at us. God help us.
Interesting observation about going almost out of tune and going right back on cue. I observed the same thing, and you're right, she does that a lot but it is most noticeable in this song!!! She's amazing!!!
Yep kudos for noting that. I think no reactor noted that about this song before.
I think Freddie would be very happy with this version, great voice.
She does country to she did a Miley Cyrus cover to the goddess of notes great reaction
Freddie would have been so proud of this beautiful version of his final song ! RIP Freddie 🧡
I subscribed to here a lot more of Angelina from you, and well some others as well. Happy Birthday Angelina Jordan Astar....: )
Thanks again , "Angelina Jordan" the "walking talking human juke box".
This song was one of weekest of Angelinas interpretations. Love her other songs.
@@michaelbattat1236 I have watched a few videos of him, he is incredible.
@@davidtouma4878 Thank you for the kind hearted information. I appreciate when people give out such detailed information without being jerks. Thanks for being kind, we all need a little extra right now.
@@dmckim3174 my pleasure. I always like to shine the limelight on the good people of this earth. Angelina Jordan deserves that not only for her talents but for being such a humble and caring individual and for all her humanitarian work from a very young age.
Thanks again and stay safe.
my nephew, taught himself guitar. at the age of 8-9 he could hear a song once sometimes twice and play it masterfully. angelina reminds me of this talent vocally.
Awesome reaction, thanks so much for sharing!
Thnx again for a great reaction!
and....
I'm always surprised that nobody comments on her breath control during those sections where she belts "The show must go on yea-a-a-a the show must go on oooooohhhh" all in a single breath. There's a lot of song in those lungs!
The out of tune effect you notice is her very early experience with Jazz. She does it everytime, when she sings live. Here is a wonderful example of Feeling good:
ua-cam.com/video/RYOAczwrXII/v-deo.html
She sings so cool and relaxed, amazing 🤗
Hans-Georg - Thank you for the link. Angelina on stage with a jazz band is my favorite thing to see. It is what she was born to do...and she does it soooo well. You are correct; cool and relaxed and just totally in her element !!
I'm sure I'm not the only one picking my screen trying to get that HOLE IN YOUR WALL!! haha.. I know I've done it before and now I just did it again...
MrJoBe - I've done that too !! LOL !!
It's certainly possible but just something i haven't thought of or considered .. so good question. )
So .. the thing about the mask may well just be UA-cam rumor .. but sounds good after seeing that they did post her cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. Is this confusing enough? 🤪
by the way: I was crying the first 2 minutes of this clip
AJ fun Fact like in this video the art in The back ground is her grandmother's original paintings,, also many of the clothes she wears are her grandma's art printed on material and sewn into her costumes,, and she sells some also
Happy Birthday sweetheart! Love you.
I have no knowledge of music with that said she is just brilliant. I still believe that she has a soul or many souls inside her that she draws from to be this special. A.J. started at 2 years old singing how else can you explain what she has achieved in a short amount of time.
Like Freddie Mercury jumped inside over this song, that repairs and rolling wow her
I've watched Angelina since Norway got talent she's special and called a prodigy by some
Interesting that you mention the ability to controlling her pitch so as she can get out of and into it as she feels it adding to the music, - and that you find it remarkable for such a young singer.
I think you are a phenomenal musical teacher. Your explanations are very clear and give insight. Thank you
You have no idea how happy you made me today. Thank you ❤️
I subscribed for Angel-ina ❤ 😇 and I really enjoyed your knowledge and reaction! Thank you 😊
Angelena often changes a cover song to the way she feels it needs to be sung and she proves that with her feeling and emotion and total dedication
(So on this this piece, I guess only Angie knows for sure.)
“I’m still holding out for you” by Baby Fuzz ua-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/v-deo.html (she’s 10 almost 11 when this was originally recorded & it was used as a demo.) This song so many think of it as one of her masterpieces that will never be released. (This is a leaked song/video) You should check the original by Baby Fuzz, you hear how different she made it & at 10.

Ignore the trolls that pretend to be Angie fans just to get reactor not to react to her anymore. Us fans apologize for them.
I'd Rather go Blind is phenomenal by her
She arranges her own music in most cases even at the age of 10 .

Sir don't be scared this young lady was born to sing and nothing else will do thank you for explaining her to me
Angelina Jordan is remarkable! I'm really glad I saw the email that suggested her to me! haha
Her grandmother painted the picture behind her as she paints with her voice palet
Спасибо!
Shes 13 here. Amazing.
Liked...no, LOVED and subbed. We love our barefoot angel (I'm an atheist but she is still an angel). It has been almost a year, but if you are reading this, I'd Rather Go Blind is yet another stylized arrangement with phenomenal vocal fry and rasp.
Just watch the Voice (3/8/2021) Angelina Jordan "The Voice" was not there which was fortunate for the other contestants. None of the judges/coaches would have much to say in the way of coaching had she been a contestant.
Angelina Jordan 13 When she did the show must go on
