    I was so surprised at how great the pink primer looked! I would have chosen the green one, but now that I see how well the pink one worked, that would be my choice. So, great job!!! As for moisturizers for under makeup, I really like The Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors moisturizer. When I first apply it in the morning, it doesn't feel like it will be hydrating enough. But once I apply my SPF, the Beauty of Joseon Sun Relief, it is the perfect amount of moisture. The key for me is to give it plenty of time to sink into my skin!
    PS My favorite product to wear under foundation is the Elf Liquid Filter..... it just looks so pretty!!!

      Ooooh! Thanks so much for all the great tips Patti!! I’ve been looking at the elf liquid filter… I wonder if it has similar properties to the pink Covergirl product I just tried, because that was exactly how I felt when I put the foundation on top… like it just gave my foundation a little extra somethin’ …. I’m defini let going to check out your suggestions!!! ❤️ Have a lovely day friend! 💕🥰

    Those look really nice, thanks for testing them for us! I'm currently trying to use up 7,992 primers, (okay, maybe four), but this has a potential spot in the always-changing lineup, likely the pink shade. Like you, I'm constantly trying to find the magic formula of moisturizers, toners, sunscreen, etc., as a base for my foundations. The biggest sticking-point is sunscreen; they're too thick, too thin, too dry, too pricey, too unobtainable, sting my eyes, or I hate the texture. If I ever find "the one" I'm certain angels will be singing. (And yes, I've watched countless hours of sunscreen reviews.) Please tell Norm he can drive my vehicle any time he wants, and I will be his willing passenger--gawd, he's so flippin' CUTE!! 😍😍

    La Roche Posay is my winter moisturizer but summer I’m finding good luck with the IUNIK Beta-Glucan Vegan Lightweight Non-Sticky Deep Moisture Watery Moisturizer. I use a toner, Vit C , serum , moisturizer, and La Roche Posay SPF. Works good so far with my foundation. I’m experimenting with primers because my nose won’t stick to a foundation anymore!! 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I bought the pink one…but didn’t really notice any difference…though that is what usually happens when I use primers. Maybe because I have normal skin, I just don’t need a primer? I also have to apply it over sunscreen, could be I just have too much stuff on my face.

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  7 місяців тому

      You bring up really valid points! If you like how your foundation works without primer that's great! 🥰 (one less item to buy!) Also, I've been researching different makeup artists that work on film/TV sets, and one in particular mentioned that she doesn't use primer on her actors because by the time you get moisturizers, and serums, and sunscreens on, primer is just one more element you have to worry about interacting badly with all the others. So I think that's great if you prefer not to use it! Thanks so much for commenting! 🤗 I hope you have a great weekend! 💕

    I don't struggle with the products underneath my foundation ever since I started using just two products under my foundation: a thin watery vitamine C serum and my spf 50. That's it. Usually no primer. The less products, the less that can go wrong. I bet Norm agrees with that.

    I was wondering if the green one would make a good mix in with my foundations for my light olive skin tone.I've tried other pigmented correctors and they are so concentrated I think its hard to get it right. Just wondering...I think I will try with my too yellow foundations!!

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  Рік тому

      Hi Marcia! 🤗 You know, my first thought was that the COVERGIRL wouldn't have enough pigment to it, as it is very subtle...but then I read your next sentence that other correctors are TOO green .... so it actually might work for what you're looking for! It might take some experimenting to get the correct ratio of green to foundation figured out, as I think you would have to use a few good pumps of the green corrector and just a small bit of your foundation (depending on how pigmented your foundation is....) If you end up trying it though, I'd LOVE to hear how it works out!! That could be a very valuable experiment! ❤️ Have a great week! 🥰

    What happens if you put the green on first and then the pink?

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  Рік тому +1

      I was very intrigued when I saw your comment, so I experimented by putting the green (on the back of my hand) first, letting it set for about 60 seconds, and then putting the pink on top. When comparing the green and pink "primer hand" to my hand with nothing on it, I was surprised to see there was actually a fairly noticeable difference! It almost looked as if the primer side had a VERY sheer foundation on it, as it evened out my discoloration a bit, and the pink gave it just a bit of a sheen.But when I say it looked almost like a foundation, I mean a SUPER sheer formula like MAC Face and Body, or Glossier Skin Tint ... Great idea though Liz! ❤️🤗💕

    Yeah- that wouldn’t touch my redness! 😬
    Edit: I’ve stopped using moisturizer. I use several layers of essence/ toner, and wear a nice sunscreen over that. Moisturizers are either too heavy, and feel hot with my rosacea, or too light to even matter and make my sunscreen pill. My sunscreen (which is also marketed as a primer) is enough with my liquids. 👍🏻

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  Рік тому

      I just saw a video the other day where they used an essence serum instead of moisturizer, and I started researching it for the very reasons you mentioned! (So of course, I’m going to ask you what your preferred essence toner is… and your sunscreen? ) The one they used in the video was super expensive (which I don’t mind “investing” in if it’s the perfect solution, but would love to see what other alternatives are out there! ❤️ Thanks for always sharing your experiences with me! 🙏🏻💕

      @@foundationlady oh gosh. You’re getting me started! I’m so excited.
      TLDR: Secret Key Starting Essence, Isntree Green Tea Toner, and Hada Labo UV White gel.
      I’ve learned a lot from Kelly Driscoll and Tina Tanaka Harris. Right now, I’m using the Secret Key Starting Essence- mainly for the arbutin and galactomyces, and the Isntree Green Tea Toner for antioxidants (I don’t like vitamin C). In the past I’ve used a full bottle of the Hada Labo Shirojyun lotion (toner), but they took the arbutin out. I do have a new bottle of the new formula to try when I’m done with the others. I’ve used half a (huge) bottle of Kikumasamune lotion, but I found it a little sticky for my face. I love it for my body though, because it layers great with my body sunscreen. I’ve seen lots that can use it on their face, but I HATE stickiness on my face. My favorite face sunscreen is the Hada Labo UV White gel. It’s got alcohol in it (many Japanese sunscreens do), but it dries down so nice and wears better under makeup than any other I’ve ever tried. {I wear a mineral one on my eyelids- the Biore Kids Milk- but only on my eyes, because it’s a little tacky. If you set it with powder, you could probably use it on the whole face.} It also has SO MANY phenomenal filters in it, I don’t know why it’s not more popular. If you have time to watch videos, Kelly Driscoll has videos on every single thing you could want recommendations for!

      @@foundationlady Oh my gosh. That’s the nicest thing to say! Because I like talking?! I don’t have any friends in real life, so I’m frequently in the comments telling everyone what works for my skin! I was a nurse in a previous life- I like being helpful if I can. ☺️
      My husband saw how much I was typing, and said I needed to add the “TLDR,” so that was his contribution!
      I got lucky years ago- I found Dr. Dray when she first started her channel. I actually have some Christmas cards from her- she had her P.O. Box in her description box, so I sent her Christmas cards for years, and she sent me some in return! That’s where I learned about Hada Labo. I’ve tried so many sunscreens over the years, but always go back to the UV White Gel. I hope you like it too! Only try it if you’re okay with the alcohol, though.
