Thank you for the comparison. I appreciate that you just used the product by itself. In so many reviews, the product is used over a primer that is tinted or glowy and it is difficult to tell how a certain shade really looks or if it will have the same finish without using all the same products. Good job.
In case anyone doesn’t know, they also have the liquid advanced radiance foundation in the same bottle without the white swirl Olay. The classic ivory is 110 instead of 210. I have both and the 210 is different than the 110 classic ivory version to me. The 110 without the Olay has a slight touch of peach I think. I wear both but they are a little different. Thanks for a great review! I love these foundations! I have the buff beige in the cream pan version and I like it!
Thank you so much for the awesome tip! 🤗 That is super helpful! ❤️ I haven't tried the liquid advanced radiance version yet, but you have given me great advice for when I go to purchase it, so thank you! 🥰 Hope you're having a beautiful weekend! 🌺❤️
The Advanced Radiance was MUCH darker. I remember having the Ivory and it was a couple of shades darker than the Ivory in Simply Ageless liquid. It was also heavier/greasier.
My favorite of these two is the cream, higher coverage can be achieved by applying with a brush. For me the liquid version didn't give me enough coverage.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me between the two! ❤️ I'll have to give the cream version a shot with a brush! Thanks for the tip! 🤗 Happy New Year! 🎉
New sub here. Excellent tutorial! Thanks for the straight to the point and informative review! I use the cream version but will give the liquid a try 😊
Hi Jen! ❤️ Welcome to Foundation Lady! 🤗 I'm so glad you're here! I'm also so glad to hear you are a fan of the cream version. It really is a beautiful formula... they both are! I don't know what took me so long to try them, but I'm glad I did! ☺️ I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Thank you! It's one I've been wanting to do for a while, and finally I was like, This is the week! (and I'm so glad I did it, because now I have two more fabulous foundations I can rely on!) 🥰 Have a fantastic week Cupie! ❤️ Normie sends his love! 🤗
I need to revisit these when I've made a little progress on some of my already-opened products. Both have been around forever, it seems, so they must be pretty darn good to hold the consumers' interest for so long! (Consumers are fickle beasts; I know this because I am one.) Thanks for an awesome comparison and review, Jenny, you do good work! Now, I have to ask: what in the world have you tasked Normie with doing that he's so exhausted?!? That poor boy! I'm so glad to see him getting some much-deserved rest.
Haha!! That lil Normie is one sleepy dog... I mean who can blame him... it must be EXHAUSTING having to walk around being so handsome all day. 🥰 I agree with you on it being around so long....Foundations always catch my eye when they've been around so long for the very same reason you mentioned. They HAVE to be good, to be able to last these days, because there's a new foundation launch every other week! I hope you're having a lovely weekend my beautiful friend!! ❤️🙏🏻
I tried 2 shades in Thread and wasn’t pleased with the way it looked on my skin. Those are going back to Target. But, I also bought the cream compact with the Olay product mixed with the foundation. I LOVED the way it took so little, glided on so smoothly, and gave my complexion just the right amount of radiance. I have very fair skin, but, shade 205 was too light for me. Today I purchased 210 & can’t wait to see how it compares color wise. If it’s a match, I’m a fan!!
You are so welcome! 🥰 And you are correct about the shades, especially for this one. The little swirl of white moisturizer in it, can kind of play tricks on the eyes when looking at it in the drugstore, so I highly recommend using Google to search a few swatches of this one before heading out to purchase! I hope you enjoy them! ❤️🤗❤️
This is so funny. I wanted to try my mom's favorite foundation, which is the balm. I wanted to know the difference between these two, and this is the video I needed so thank you! I was surprised to see it was uploaded only 2 weeks ago, considering these foundations are dinosaurs lol
Oh wow! ☺️ Thank you so much! 🤗 I'm so happy to see your comment!! ❤️ I love reviewing the new (exciting) foundations but I'm starting to find that I enjoy reviewing the dinosaurs (😂) or "rarely reviewed" ones just as much, If not more! I'm just so delighted reading your comment, and of course, I have to ask... did you try the balm yet?? If so, I love to hear what you think! ❤️ Have a great day!
I tried the compact one and it was so bad on my skin - patchy and blotchy - that I threw it away. Then I bought the bottle version and i just love it. I already wear SPF so no problems with that.
Hi there! ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your experience of trying these two foundations with me! 🤗 I am so glad to hear you love the bottled version as well! It really surprised me! 😍 Hope you're having a wonderful week! 🌷
@@yanii35 I’m using two right now…Tula Protect+Glow and Centella Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica water-something. Long name, can’t remember it all, it’s a Korean brand, under $20 and very nice. Both are moisturizing sunscreens. But I tried the CG in the compact with several different sunscreens, it just didn’t work for me.
I have always been curious about these foundations. The reviews I've seen have been mostly positive. But, I haven't pulled the trigger and tried them because none of the shades seem like they would work for me, from looking at them in the bottles. I am often too pale for the lightest shades in a lot of foundations. I was actually surprised at how well the shade on the liquid side looked on you, and they both looked really beautiful!! One question I have is, do they have that "Noxzema" scent that some of the Covergirl foundations have? In the end, I was more than impressed with how pretty these looked! And, Covergirl is now cruelty free which I'm positive would get Norm's approval.☺This video is SO well made, Jenny. It should get a lot of views!!! (fingers crossed!!)❤🩹❤❣
Thank you so much Patti!! 🤗❤️ You are always so lovely and supportive of my channel! I can't tell you how much that means to me! 😇🙏🏻 As far as the shade options go, I definitely agree that they are a bit tricky for this line. (That's probably the only negative aspect to these two foundations.) The little swirl of white can easily play tricks on the eyes when looking at them in drugstore! That's why I (subconsciously) avoided them for so long. I was surprised too when I saw that the liquid side (classic Ivory) matched me better than the Creamy Natural shade on the cream side, as when I use COVEGIRL products, it's usually the Creamy Natural shade that fits me best. With all that said, I definitely applaud you for being cautious when going on the hunt for your specific shade, and of course would strongly encourage Googling as many swatches as possible to get a better idea before heading out to the drugstore! ❤️ As far as the scent... neither of them have the Noxema fragrance like the COVERGIRL foundation in the little triangle glass bottles. The cream version has no added fragrance (but of course isn't completely "scent free" as the chemicals have their own scent when mixed together....) and the liquid version seems to be lightly fragranced. It wasn't nearly as overpowering to me as something like a CHANEL or Lancome foundation though! 🤪) And HOORAY for Cruelty Free!! 🥳❤️ Normie DEFINITELY approves!!! ❤️
I use CoverGirl Creamy Natural 220. I have not tried the creamy foundation which has SPF28. I think I would like to try to put one thin layer of liquid foundation, then add the creamy foundation on the top to see if they are buildable together. I need to get the creamy foundation first.
Yeah!! Another good video!! You’re always so informative!!! Now I might have to go purchase another foundation. Always on the hunt for the perfect foundation.
question?? is the compact foundation meant to be like a cream to powder?? cus i am wearing it right now .. without powder set or compact powder and it look nice but is meant to be by itself or with set?? or is it optional if you want to do both ??
It is absolutely optional! 🥰 This foundation is not advertised as a cream-to powder formula (although Milani makes one of those if you are interested in that type...) However, as with any foundation, if you prefer to skip the powder, go for it! Some makeup-wearers feel it looks more fresh and natural to go without powder, and to use other cream products (blush, contour, bronzer etc.) on top. It can be quite lovely. This who have oily skin, might find it a bit difficult to go without powdering, and powder generally does help a product last a bit longer, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with going without if that's what you prefer! ❤️ Have a beautiful week! 💐
In my option I just bought the covergirl plus olay in the circle jar ! I have to say I dis like you can see all of my pores and lines in my face. I don’t know what I did wrong. I put my primer on then the foundation and it just looks cakey !
Oh bless! ❤️ I'm so sorry! May I help you troubleshoot...? Let's see, starting with skin type... may I ask if you are dry, combo, normal? Also, may I ask how many skin care products you had underneath, and were you able to give them a few minutes in between adding layers, to sink into the skin? (Also, don't know if this will help, but I noticed when I started applying MUCH lighter layers of my skin care underneath, it made a BIG difference in how much better my foundation applied!) As far as primer goes, may I ask which one you used? Sometimes I find certain primers unfortunately just don't play well with certain foundations. 😥 And finally, may I ask what method you used to apply? (i.e. did you apply with a patting motion with a beauty sponge, fingers or a brush? ) If you have a moment to write back, I'll do my best to help you! 🤗
If the cream foundation is already creamy, do you apply another day cream or moisturizer over it to finish? Will that settle well over the cream foundation? Thank you!
Hi Charlene! 🤗 Great question! I actually apply my moisturizer (or day cream) and sunscreen first. Then I let them sink in for at least 5 to 10 minutes, and then I put the cream foundation on top. The only thing I would put on top of the cream foundation (other than my other makeup like bronzer, blush, etc.) is a little but of setting powder , and a spritz or two of finishing spray) to help It set and last throughout the day. Let me know if you have any other questions! 💕
