- The Civic is Honda's compact sedan. Onthe outisde you will discover 17in wheels, LED lighting, sunroof. On the inside you will be greeted by a leather style interior and 9in infotainment screen. Under the hood is a 1.5L turbocharged inline-4 that is mated to a CVT. Is the 2024 Honda Civic Touring a BETTER sedan than a Toyota Corolla XLE?

I have the same exact same car. Couldn’t be any happier. Honda Dealers mark ups are a down side. I believe it’s the most expensive in its segment.
Ya know, Joe, a new guy that I work with, has a black 23 Civic Sport. He was kind enough to let me sit in his for a little while to check it out. You know what was the first thing I asked? I said, "Can I turn your climate control knobs?" He asked why, and I said someone I know said they have such a good quality to them they sound like turning a dial on a Wells Fargo safe, and I had to see for myself. Lol. I know it sounded weird. Trust me. 😅 You know Joe, it certainly is Wells Fargo safe approved 👍🏻, and it's very roomy on the inside. That was my first time in a new gen Civic. 5/5 🌟
That is so very fantastic Chris! Awesome of him to share his Civic with you.
I’m a dial person too and just bought a ‘24 civic. Turning a dial is firm but easy to actuate with very tactile feedback and a super satisfyingly chunky click. I 100% get it, you’re not the only weirdo 😅
I’ve had 4 Corollas. Great for economy, scary when it comes to acceleration. I’m going Civic in this case.

He is the best !!!!!!!
Looking for a car right now have watched a bunch of your vids thank you so much, great content

You are so very welcomed! Good luck with your search
Hey Joe wanted to give a clarification, the Sport DOES NOT have 19’s, the wheels are 18”, only the Integra provides an option for 19” wheels
Right. LX gets 16", EX gets 17", Sport and Touring gets 18".
Literally just bought this car last week, and I love it!
Oh wow, that is so very awesome! Congrats!
Me too. Picked up a red touring on Sunday.
@@alanrodriguez3011 heck yeah congrats!! I got mine in Lunar Silver. Man, the gas mileage is INSANE. Went over 450 miles on ONE tank. My previous car would only get like 11mpg so that is huge for me lmao.
Did any of you guys pay over msrp...

Agreed on the ventilated seats. It's not like Honda doesn't have the tech, it's available on the Accord. Hyundai/Kia and Toyota offer them on a bunch of models and most domestics from Ford and Chevrolet do too. I would guess Mazda will probably start offering them on more models in the future as they go more upscale too. Not a big ask for Honda to offer them as an option on the Civic.
After having my Silverado being my daily for the last 3 years, I've been in market looking for a new, comfortable & fuel efficient daily driver. Ended up buying a 2024 Honda Civic Touring $32,000 OTD. I've never owned a vehicle with less than 6 cylinders, (most of them 8) nor one with a CVT. But I gotta tell you that's its amazing and I'm really loving it. I still have my Silverado though! :D
I have been on a streak of watching your videos. I have to say im glad i just subscribed your the best!!!
That is so awesome of you to say Jonathan!
Nice review keep up the good work Joe
You got it my friend
1st one here I watch your videos all the time I love them!!!
Thank you for being super supportive!
To be honest for 32k it doesn’t have that many options like memory seats and back buckets, it’s a a lot of money!
I got the 2024 Honda Civic Sport and love it. So glad I traded in my 2019 Hyundai Elantra sport it was in the service department more then I had it 🤣
Thank you,I just purchased the 2024 Honda civic touring metallic I love it,the gas mileage and the amenities are very high quality. THANK YOU RAITIS for the great review..I've had a 2013 Honda Accord and have not had any problems with it . Regular maintenance will keep your Honda running like a reliable vehicle.
I have a 2014 accord sport as well. is it an upgrade overall for the ride quality?
@@95x300I’ve driven both, I would say no to this
Toyota mostly beats Honda in pretty much every car these days, but in the compact sedan segment, the Civic beats the Corolla imo
I own a 2023 Civic Sport Touring,
and my friend just bought a 2024 Corolla.
I helped him choose, test drive, and everything.
I would say:
If you just want a daily commute car, Corolla is a very solid choice. It's very practical, it has a Hybrid engine and Toyota's Hybrid system is amazing. You cannot really go wrong with the Corolla.
If you want a fun car, join Civic camp
Civic is "a bit more" Corolla. It is a bit bigger (but not Camry yet), the Interior is better, it has more characteristics and is more fun to drive. Honda's handling is really good, it has great feedback and road response. I have been driving a Civic for more than a year and still love it and have fun every day.
The sad part for Civic is:
- It's more expensive than the Corolla
- It doesn't have a Hybrid powertrain (yet)
It might be more expensive, but just a couple thousand more compared to Corolla Hybrid XLE
They are also releasing the 2025 Civic Hybrid this summer
Facts you just explain why i like the civic way more than Toyota it is way better, but the ownership will kill your money, but luckily got some leftover money when i purchase it.
Couldn't agree more but the few thousand pricier than Corolla justified by the sportier and mightier powertrain..classy interior and more spacious.
P/S : I'm getting the hybrid Civic soon. Best of both worlds!
The sad part for Civic is an overwhelming road noise none of the competitors struggle with (Read Consumer Reports) buy something else if you value your ears
Awesome video man! always look forward to seeing the next car review, Civic is not bad,
I would take the hatchback with a
manual transmission.
18” wheels are better for touring and those ones look very nice. Touring customers want a quieter cabin while sport customer want value and aesthetics
Except Touring doesn't offer a quieter cabin. It is one of the noisiest cars on the road. The so called "insulation" on the touring is paper thin. None of the competitors at this price range are as noisy as the Honda
i’m getting my first car tomorrow and it’s a 24 honda civic touring and this video is too good , just what i needed to know what i’m getting into . this guy’s so funny
That is awesome Kim! Congrats!
Raiti dropping gems during March Madness
Looks better than big brother Accord.
I don't know which one I like better. However, I think the Civic Sedan looks more like an Accord than a Civic. I prefer the more aggressive styling of the outgoing model, and am disappointed they toned down the styling. Why they made 2 models so similar idk. Still not a bad looking car, but a downgrade styling wise imo.
Honda really nailed ergonomics in this generation. I like having big buttons and knobs. Some cars are moving towards putting far too many controls in touch screens or via haptic buttons. Honda keeps it simple and easy.
Some rear AC vents would be nice for the price
Especially that base model Kia Forte has them
Wrong info on the Sport wheels. They're 18 also. C'MON Raiti!
10:22 You know your history! That’s so cool, and it was even featured in the Toy Story movies!
Definitely, the civic has three drive styles, sport, eco,and I call it smooth it rides like a luxury vehicle in that mode. Its Definitely worth the purchase and the reliability. With gas fluctuations like they are its qorhthe reliability.
Joe, you say the one vehicle in the class that doesnt have the CVT is the Jetta. Are you overlooking the Mazda 3?
The Civic is an icon! I like it!
One of the top selling cars of all time.
32 bills ? Not
Cannot go wrong with Civic 💪
That small 1.5 turbo engine with a CVT scares me with long term reliability
Honda and Toyota reliability went down hill
I guess only time will tell
My wife's got a 2018 crv with the 1.5 and a cvt. So far so good. I do the oil changes myself tho every 5k miles. Good mobil1 stuff. Doesn't burn any oil yet. Also changed cvt Trans fluid at 55k. We r gna drive it to the ground so will see how far she lasts.
My honda city 2004 is still running until now with cvt transmission.. talking about reliablity.. i dont think i have to elaborate more..

Just got rid of my 2022 sport with the 2.0. CVT Transmission was already having issues, steering was sticking as well, oil leaks, etc. And barely 20k miles too, won’t be buying Honda anytime soon again.
For $32k, no lumbar, no ventilated seats, no rear ventilation. It drives great, but Honda should those nice features for a Touring, would've really stepped it up for the price.
For sure the touring should have those. I have a 2019 accord touring and it has lumbar, ventilated seats, memory seats, and heating backseats. I’m shocked a car 5 years newer is missing all of those…..
Wow nice car. Thanks for what you do Joe

Anybody know when we will get a Honda Accord redesign. Current one is gross.
Yes of course Joe & this should be my daily.
That is so very awesome
In my opinion the interior door material and designs of my 10th gen rival the 11th gen, middle leather section is dressed up with after stitching, carbon fibre looking trim instead of gloss black, but everything else is a step up for sure
Looking at the Honda website, and I don’t see a Civic with 19 inch wheels. Both sport and touring models have 18 inch wheels.
I daily one of these and it’s a solid little car! Only complaint is it’s noisy on the highway
I appreciate that ownership insight
The Civic hasn't been "little" for quite a while. I have a difficult time distinguishing the Civic and the Accord with this new Gen. The Civic is just so much bigger that I personally categorize it as a mid-size sedan.
I should also add that I drive a VW Golf, a true compact size vehicle, so I guess I'm basing sizes off what I drive
@@mwilging compared to most trucks and SUVs on the road it’s little. I also used to drive a full size SUV
I have the sport touring Hatchback 6speed. I love it. ALTHOUGH, i changed out the turn signal bulbs to LED, had to take off the whole assembly, and go figure, they broke from taking them off, they split open at the seam, plastic feels very very thin and fragile, and now i have condensation iside! So annoyed because the dealer wants $300 for each. Well, other than that, the car is great. Tons of space for the kids along with trunk space.
I changed out the bulbs very easily. It's delicate work though
Ok so I have 2023 sport and I would love the touring but with the sport wheels because I love them
Did they fixed the steering rack?
Got mine less than a year ago and already a recall on the power steering system being incorrectly installed. I got a 23, and I’m surprised Honda didn’t fix it for the 24 models… disappointing…
Kia Forte GT Turbo charged 201 HP 195Lbs of torque in line 4 , 6 speed manual or 7 speed DCT transmission , sport multi link suspension , sport tuned exhaust system 0-60 in 6.5 seconds plus all the goodies MSRP 26k ... Way cheaper than any other competition 😊😊
I really like the overall look of those civics Joe. They just don’t spare the horsepower I’d be looking for.
As always Great review! We need that Honda ridgeline black edition review!!!
This guy has the funniest car review videos hands down. He's not a ZONK!!!

Got a 2022 civic touring sonic gray 🔥…runs great , sound system is perfect the car ride is a bit loud ? But overall I would buy this car again 👌🏽
My money is going civic. Hondas fwd system dominates in this class. Behind the wheel they’re fun to drive and handle well
I've taken one out for three days and can say it is by far one of the best on the market. Felt great, drove great, no complaints from what I was able to experience. That being said, Mazda3 is still my #1
🤢🤮
The bottom of the tray plate has a Civic logo, which is a good Easter egg detail.
Sport comes with 18” wheels also. The difference is the sport are gloss black
I need to upgrade my 03 Civic.. I'm going Manual!!!! #SI
the reason touring has an 18” wheel is because you’ll be driving and cruising more which gives you a softer ride due to more sidewall, 19 would make the ride rougher
Great video but incorrect on the wheels. Both Sport and Touring trims have 18” wheels. Only difference is Sport is painted black aluminum alloy and Touring has machine faced dual tone aluminum alloy. Overall great review!
I feel like this is def a nice equipped trim level but i owned the 23 model touring and for $30k + too much road noise and rough ride…this trim should be priced at $27k
It looks fairly fast here....what is the 0-60 time? Real world MPG?
The lack of ventilated front seats is a shame. In terms of buying lightly used you can get a 20-30k mile Jetta SEL for about $3-$5k less than a Civic Touring of the same milage and you get the ventilated seats as well as rear heated seats. Then again the civic still has its pros over the Jetta but if you live somewhere hot like I do it's something to think about.
I really appreciate you sharing those great points!
Hmmmmm Forte GT 2 201 HP and 7 speed twin clutch auto, with REAL paddles... and nice exhaust note.
I'm all about Toyota except when it comes to the Honda Civic
Honda better bring that 12.3 infotainment for the refresh lol
Just put my daughter's name on a 24 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback (to be built in Apr 2024) not with the CVT but with the 6MT ... with the upcoming Civic hybrids in '25 this might be the last iteration of the 6MT (exc for the TYPE-R if Honda continues it?) ... Thanks Keith Chicago IL
I have the same exact car but 2022 model. This car is great, but there is a issue with this car that annoys me. I am 6 feet tall and drive everyday to work, about 14 km in the morning and 14 km in the afternoon to get back home, each commute is about 0.5 hour. The problem is I get heal pain in my right food as a result of repetitive accelerating and breaking. I feel problem is with the seat which doesn't cover under my thigh completely, or maybe because of the brakes that are not sensitive enough to stop the car with less effort.

Hey raiti, do you think the sport or touring is better I can’t decide , the sports looks are better for me
I bought a 24 civic, sport trim…one thing I wish I could change is the arm rests…they are all to low…Joe next time you sit in one, see if you think they are to low! Just a little annoyance, not a big deal.
The sport touring are 18” wheels not 19”…..still great review Joe! A little disappointed at the 32,000 price tag ….for a Civic!!!! OUCH. I wanted this to be my next car but there will be some heavy negotiation going on or I will walk. Prices are crazy !!!!
I like the Corolla better because it’s a little bit smaller. And really I just like the design and body style better on the Toyota.
It looks nice if I can’t get the hatchback sport touring I’ll get this one for sure.
The sport and SI trims get the exhaust tips… literally makes no sense why they left it off the touring. The only thing I don’t like about mine
I bought this car at the beginning of the year. I am extremely impressed by the 1.5t and CVT. It has convinced me that small turbocharged engines and CVT's are not the enemy! Lol. No but in all seriousness, it behaves so seamlessly and unobtrusively without any of the odd behavior that might have been present in CVT's 10 yrs ago. I do not feel any hesitation or delay. The same CANNOT be said for the 2.4/DCT combo I am also familiar with from Acura! There was often a lag when trying to accelerate quickly, ie merging on the highway.
Only issue so far is MPG not quite what it's supposed to be. Hopefully I just need to drive it a bit more??
@@Pler1978 Well, it's nice that you managed to put 180k miles on a 2018 vehicle! Mostly highway miles, I imagine?
The engine is great when it comes to dynamics of driving but fails miserably at efficiency. It is supposed to save money on fuel but when you press the pedal for more spirited driving, mpgs dip down to near V6 levels, lol (I have the touring)

Hello, is the base Integra CVT a better car here? Ride, fit and finish, handling?
I am liking this Honda. I think they did a brilliant job on this particular model. Still not sure about these simulated shifts, but I am starting to accept the CVT for these eco cars. Another spot on review Mr. Raitti. 💙✌️😊

No "ZONK" for the lack of rear seat vents?
Joe, Any idea when the newly redesigned 2025 Civic will be released? I know they typically come out atleast a few months before the new year.
I'm glad it doesn't have the exhaust finishers, the car looks extremely clean, that would partially ruin it. Not sure why people are demanding these cringe design elements on an economy car anyways, that kind of thing looks good on a WRX not a Civic
he looks a bit cramped in the back hmmm also wait the sport touring doesnt come with ventelated seats? nor lumbar support wait what i was looking to get the crv and road a 2024 accord loved how roomy it was and well all the features wish it was 2025 wanted one in that year so i started looking into the crv since it was roomer and newer the only thing i hate is that no spare also wish i could get the accord but like the price is no different than the crv so im at a lose if i should just go for the crv or accord ! ahhh any suggestions would help thanks
I wasn't cramped at all.
What about the very soft paint on this civic after a year or two it will blister and start to fall apart
18 inch wheels on the sport, they are not 19 inch. Same size on the touring just different design and sport are all black. 18 inch on the hatch as well…..19 inch on the type R
32k no rear air vent no lumbar no memory seat
Best compact. No question.
I’m so glad that you are thinking so.
I’d personally take a Mazda 3 over this Civic. I just can’t past the 1.5t issues and the CVT transmission.
@@lennygarrison6836CVT is questionable but ultimately depends on your maintenance schedule/way you drive it
The civic is so nice!!
I have a 2023 Civic Sport, and the wheel size is 18", not 19.
Please do not make a car buying decision based on the review like this one. This person gets the car from the manufacturers' dealer so he cannot say too many negative things about it. This Honda has incredible levels of road noise, more than any of the competitors such as Toyota or Mazda within the same price range, lacks driver lumbar support, passenger height adjustment (not even a manual one in the most expensive touring!!!) none of which were mentioned. So please make your decisions carefully. Yes the dynamics are great but what good is it when the noise levels are so high? How can one enjoy the Bose System when the noise is so bad, it cuts through any music you're listening to!!!
I like my 2016 way better than the new one. Come on Honda, step up your game as it feels like you’re going backwards
love the outgoing generation much better. It's not even a Civic, it's an Accord lol. ngl, it's a nice car in its own right, but still. Disappointed the styling has been toned down.
i love my 23’ civic hatch so much
I was about to trade in my 2016 touring but after driving a 2024 civic I am not impressed.
It feels cheaper compared to my older civic. The leather wrapped wheel feels cheap compared to the older civics and HRV/CRV
The asking price was also insulting.
I couldn't agree with you more! I don't like the way they redesigned the civic it looks believe it or not like the Toyota Corolla my mom's 2013 Toyota Corolla it looks just like her car and it doesn't look like it's sporty like the 2016 people cannot believe that was Pacific cause it was hot it look like a sports Version it's very sad I don't know why Honda did that?
I drove civic and corolla but ended up LE hybrid base model, cracks me up small stuff they take out to make it as cheap as possible
There’s almost no reason not to get the hatchback instead, aside from price. And only the Type R has 19 inch wheels; the Sport has 18s and the EX has 17s. The hatch LX has 16” alloys.
The hatchback looks better. I prefer the previous style. The hatchback actually passes as a Civic, kind of. This is more like an Accord than a Civic. Not that Accords are bad, but just styling wise, looks like it evolved from the Accord line rather than the Civic line.
The 1.5T has to much of a failure rate for me, I think the 2.0 hybrid comes next year, I’m interested on how reliable that engine will be, the current K20 has been pretty reliable
I don't really get why they styled it like this. The coupe version is not bad, and don't get me wrong, this style is not bad either. But I much prefer the outgoing gen's aggressive styling, and wish they grew on that style rather than toning the style down. This looks more like an Accord than a Civic. 2024 Accord 2.0 lol. Like I said not a bad car, and I do like Accords as well, but I don't get why they styled it to look so much like another car in their own lineup.
