- Today, after months of hard work, the Turbo LS swapped Volvo Sleeper hits the dyno. With the LS6 and the VS Racing 7875 this thing made incredible power on very little boost. By far my fastest and most powerful car!

a guide to how to remove all the check engine lights:
remove the engine and put an ls in it
I can confirm it works lol
@@_Gingium_ noice
@@quentinc1275 thats how it works sir..lmao
Either that or throw a 12v cummins in it, those are basically the two main swaps you see people do now 😂
@@quentinc1275 Throw a Texas Speed Engine in there
This car is a beast! Glad it went well and nothing blew up.
Well
*yet
Well don't jinx it
@@garrettcoonce I think I may have. :o
Don't say it too soon
This guys dyno is not applying load correctly. It should not rev that quickly.
I think he's using 2th or 3th gear and it's not correct
What i was thinking the whole time
Gingium needs to find a "real" tuner
Sounds like it’s in 3rd gear. I thought 4th gear was 1:1 on the T56 trans.
I don't think this dyno is capable of applying it's own load, it's got very small rollers but I could be wrong
The ramp rate on the dyno is extremely fast.
I don’t think he is in a high gear, would have made allot more power with more load!
Still incredible to see the insane improvement from when you were first working on Molly to now!
That thing sounds like it was summoned instead of built
Looks like it, too, which is amazing.
Might need to go to the Freedom Factory with that bald eagle machine.
Congratulations on the accomplishment of making you vision come to life
Watch out for the speed rating of those winter tires, I know that they’re definitely exceeding their ratings on the dyno pulls, I guess as long as you don’t keep them at a high rate of speed
Who ever disliked this video is scared of getting gaped by the hearse
That's an awesome name for the Volvo. The Boost Hearse?
Please correct "gaped" to gapped, please just please
*_G A P E D_*
@@Shizbox No, it still fits perfectly.🤣
@@rolandholczer2260 Boost Hearse? LOVE IT
Doing pulls in the snow with that thing takes balls, I'd probably wrap it around a tree
It's an old Volvo, the tree will wrap around it.
@@Skyhawk1998 Beat me to it, I used to have one of these, can confirm
I think you're gonna need a muffler or 2 for this to be a sleeper...
Thats next on the list
or 3
@@_Gingium_ Look into a loud valve.
Hell yeah so glad to see how much power shes making
Proud to be in the big boy club now!
This is the fastest I’ve been to a Gingium upload, so excited for this car
EVERY. TIME. HE. DID. A. PULL. I turned my volume UP!
I normally don't like V8's much, but I like this one.
Been here since built vs bought and how far youve come in these years still keeps a smile on my face that i can do it to
You know you are making good power when it can lift the LS motor and the front of that barge, looks like your design is working better than good.
You have really come a long way from your early days I have watched you and your channel grow, well done, I would let you work on my projects any day, that is a compliment as my friends will tell you nobody works on them but me.
I would say something like "been here since the beginning of this build" but you built the whole thing so fast that I don't even know if that would be a flex lol. Have been here since 10k though so that's a flex at least...
This is probably the most healthy sounding Turbo Ls6 i’ve ever heard. SO CRISP 👌 *Chefs Kiss*
GREAT JOB!!
The last time I came across your channel you were bolting bits on to your mx5, now you've built a turbo LS Volvo. Mad progress and mega respect. Keep it up!
The Volvo is nuckin futs! It’s Insane to see how far you have come from turboing Molly in your garage to ls swapping a Volvo wagon making 600+ wheel!
Wow! This engine absolutely loves the setup, treat her well and she'll make you happy for a long long long time
When 650hp gets old, swap the camshaft.
@parkerbethke Not even needed sometimes record stock bottom end 4.8 ran 7s without even opening the bottom end.
@@thewraith6360 nah. This aint a drag car that only needs to do one pass that only lasts a couple of seconds.
This is a street car that will see load for extended periods of time and the rings will close and expand and fuck everything up if you don't regap them.
Also don't listen to the highest number you can find, no matter the platform there's always a couple of people that make twice the power that everyone thinks is the limit, but if people think the limit is lower, there's a reason, most people do see failure at way lower power levels.
@parkerbethke Boost has nothing to do with it, its all depended on the fuel you're usings knock threshold which is dictated usually by power output, doesn't matter if it takes 5psi on a massive turbo or 20psi on a tiny one to make 550-600ish is about the safe limit for pump gas with these engines with stock internals. That Stock bottom end 4.8 i was talking about was unopened and ran 45psi through it and its still running look up "squirrel tuned" on here.
@@imnota Idk what you're talking about, the car im talking about has never had an issue with 45psi and a unopened bottom end its now getting an even bigger turbo setup and going in a more serious chassis now he's on youtube look up "squirreltuned". If this is a "reliable street car" why is he at the ragged edge of pump gas? Ring gap is not going to matter if he's at the ragged edge of pump gas and the thing pings its guts out. For 600 wheel through a manual just add E85 and you'll be fine. Ring gap is not needed unless you know for a fact its been rebuilt and the person who did the rebuild had the rings done up super tight, but if that was the case the thing wouldn't of made it past 550 on 93.
@@thewraith6360 fucking internet mechanics...
Didn't know the gaps of the ring closed from knock lmao.
Your ring gaps tighten up because of heat, metals expand with heat and gaps get tighter.
Turbos bring a lot more heat and the stock ring gaps are too tight to handle it, nothing to do with rebuilds, it's already too tight for a boost application from factory.
Type of gas also doesn't matter too much, e85 helps a little because it does run slightly cooler, but it's not a world of difference and you will still encounter ring issues because of too much heat.
Also it kinda does matter if it's 5psi from a big turbo or 20psi from a small one, because small turbos that are pushed to the limit will spit reaally hot air, your intercooler will get heat soaked and your IAT's will be through the roof, resulting in lack of power, possible knock and excessive engine temp.
But yeah believe all you want, but as said previously, no matter the platform there's always a couple of guys that make 1000hp with an unopened engine, even tho everyone else blew their engines up at lower power level. It doesn't mean everyone can make that much power, it either means that their specific setup has something special, the secret sauce or that they're very lucky.
Welcome to the world of LS V8 happy to see more power baby! Seen a hint of John's channel and been waiting for this! Awesome build looking forward to what you will do with it
First test of a great road car: Drive 1250 miles in one day and be able to get out and walk at the end. Volvo is generally good on this test due to the suspension and comfortable seating. Best run for me was with a 164 GLE, and a close second with a 745 GLE TD. Methinks you're going to absolutely love this thing on the long-haul.
So awesome! You had an idea and created it! Keep up the great unique work!
This is a massive testament to the quality of your work Caleb x
That was awesome to watch. Keep it up, can't wait to see more!
Definition of happiness : gingium's smile!!
You're awesome mate, keep up the good work!
Insane results! It's so awesome to see the fruits of your labor
Thank you! All the hard work is worth it.
I loved it when everyone was sitting in the car for one of the pulls and they all leaned back like they were using butt dyno's 😂
I loved the part where they did that in a pandemic. Oh wait no I didn't.
@@benbunch4159 Saaaaaaame! I wish they had masks for that part!

Made me smile to see Mike again. He's been with you through all of these fun projects. You should invite him to track days.
This is so much fun to watch, I'm glad your build worked out well!
youre really pumping out these videos! nice pace!
As a swede, this really warms my heart, damn sweeet Thank you
Happy for you man ive been waiting to see this suprised you didnt to a youtube premiere or even post on Instagram about it but keep the good content cant wait to see some races
so pumped man! youre honestly one of the best youtubers on here and your builds are awesome. ive been following since 30k and youve come so far since, massive inspiration to me!
Have you checked out streetbandito? They built a full carbon fibre Datsun 240z race car. Its really interesting to watch. Future project...
What a killer build, you knocked this out so fast and as expected it's sickkkk. So happy for you, can't wait to watch you straight up embarrass some pretty fast cars you need to do some collabs with other youtubers man!
The WRX Miata , sounds like an actual WRC car!!! Fucking love tuat rumble Caleb!
I was expecting 580-90... not 650... wtf. You have built something incredible Caleb.
Good results bro, congratulations. Can't wait to see it at the strip
that things sounds incredibly gnarly - frikin sick man! great work to all involved 🙌
Congrats my guy! This is such a sick build and what a killer dyno day. Can't wait to see this thing on the streets!
Wow, this gotta go on TDIB review for sure! Its amazing, I ve been watching Caleb for some years now and his builds make me smile every time, its amazing.
put some EU blinkers on it! it will make Volvo guys
curious :D and wont change the sleeper status. greetings form Norway!
Gingium I got to give it to you you made a great build 650HP on 9 PSI is amazing I got to give you and your team a big tums UP for making the perfect sleeper great job.
Brilliant and what a fantastic choice of car. Love it!
Hey Gingium. How do you insure your cars?
Obviously the volvo and the rallymiata are worth FAR more than the blue book value. It would suck to get 2k for a totaled build.
You can do special insurance which will he basically your value for it, as long as the value of the aftermarket parts. But then your rates go up like crazy as well
With all his cars it's probably cheaper to just get liability only on everything and eat the cost if something happens. Otherwise paying full rate on each car would be insane. Though I guess he probably takes insurance on and off his cars as needed if it's presumed it will sit for a while.
i feel like they’re all mainly track cars, and insurance don’t do shit for that
I'm not sure if it works differently per insurer but my company sends someone to appraise the value including any after market parts if they total it out. At least as far i've been told, thankfully never had a car totalled.
You dont get the recognition you deserve tbh, you built these from the ground up with details in all videos. You inspired me to built my own custom mounts or parts. Been watching you since you only did forza videos. Can't wait to see the next crazy awesome project!!! Much love brother🤙
Nasty build! Hype to see it rip in the next video! 👊👊
Super impressed with your fabricating. No build issues while on the Dyno, oost leaks, fluid leaks etc...But still, lose the wrench “microphone” 🤦♂️ Thanks for the great content.
i am so happy for you dude!
Nice work on the Brick!
Hell yeah man! 650 whp!? That's so awesome! Good work putting everything together properly. We all make mistakes from time to time, I know that I do.
this thing is going to be crazy on the drag strip, can't wait to see the progress with this!
Nice job!! Big power volvo!!
From new vs old, and built vs bought battles on forza to this,
Damn brother proud of you
Greetings from Argentina. I'm pretty sure only a few in my country have the privilege of driving a 240 DL wagon in light blue like the one you do. However, I'm 100% sure, that I'm the only one doing so + visiting St. Charles a dozen of times + having spent hours in Cadillac Ranch LOL
Lol blizzard, baseline winter weather in iron range Minnesota. That car is a beast! Congrats on your hard work payin off!!
very cool build and great power
Great editing!
Great work !
Holy hell great video
Mike is an angel! Great video man!
This makes me so happy- this car is amazing
I'm so glad to see your skills developing Caleb. It's wonderful to be able to see you doing such crazy shit, when few years ago you did similar stuff in Forza! Awesome mate, keep it up!
What a beast!!!! Subbed! 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
I was holding my breath the entire time, I’m so happy this beast is finished
Such a good sleeper! Love it!
Imagine being scared by a “turbo brick.”Not on the street. But, on the Dynamometer. Now, that hit different for me.😂
love seeing your creations come to life.
It's the best part!
wooooohhhoooooo fckkk yeeeeah!! been waiting for this sooooooo long! :D congrats man! i know im happy with your car already :D
As a swede the LS 240GL or as we call the stationwagon 245GL. The 5 is for 5-doors. In some modells the 4 stands for 4-cylinder. So maybe call it the LS 285GL LOL. It looks like It's in the right climate with the snow. When I took my drivers licens my build of my first car was not done. It where an Opel Kadett 1.2L 1977 that I restored and did some minor custom work on it and repainted it also. Actually I used a 245 oem exhaust pipes to my Kadett LOL. Until it where finished my uncle loaned me his old 245GL to me. They gets rarer as the years go so the price of them gets higher and higher too. We have way to much of regulations on cars to do a build like this. There are some V8 swaps but usually the smogged smallblocks V8 or Rover V8 from Range Rover where popular to be doing.
Very cool sleeper and you will have a lot of fun with your Volvo LS 245GL!
Yes man love this v8 volvo as i'm from sweden, it's an absolute beast that you should be very proud of 👍
SICK love this build
Takes me back to your forza days when you built sleepers🤧
I doubt you will read this comment but thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for building a turbo LS Volvo. I’m a Miata guy but this is by far my favorite build to date.
Aside from the battle van ;) jk
Im so pumped for you man, so fucking sick to see this thing actually rip, love it man
Wuuuu dam bro what a beast hope you go to the dragstrip 🔥
What an awesome video! Thought it would get to 620 max but never thought it would make it to 670!
Oh man i could listen to that all day...
saw u driving it around sounds amazing
Nice power! Ultimate sleeper status.
The guy who keeps standing and sitting right in the way of all the spinning masses clearly has never seen the video where a guy gets killed by driveline components shattering and flinging out. That's why trans tunnels are a thing...stay safe.
Also this, thing MEAN!
good for you i like expression on your face when the car was on the dino
Now I want videos of you asking Mustang owners at red lights “you wanna go?”
Caleb!!! This is perfect!!!! You should road trip it to the Swede Social 4 here in Orlando this year! Meet up with Taylor, Jace (M&M) and more!!!
Awesome build
the choice of car combined with this engine is pure gold
love the sound !!!!!
straight up dream car material right there

Hey man just want to say I love ur channel you make some sick stuff.
Can not wait to see the look of disbelief that comes onto everyone’s face after you do your first pull at the drag strip

I think we all wanna see some rally miata snow drifting, btw love all your cars dude ❤️
i too would be scared to be around that insanely powerful brick
words cannot express how much i love this build
Great one 👌🏻 I'm tempted to go turbo on my 242 Ls3 but going to need to get more funds together first haha.
