Honestly, Sam is having a great time. "Can I be really incompetent while doing this cool thing?" "... yeah? Yeah! If you want to." "NICE" **falls off the ship**
I think that's what made Liam to do an insight check on Sam... He thought Sam is playing a great *temporary* character and pretending to be a weakling, so he might be a bad guy. But, it was just Sam trying to have fun to the fullest.
This exactly what I thought! Just enjoying the dynamic and personality of his character and allowing himself to fall and be incompetent for the sake of the humor that nerdy squishy potato of a man
"You can play with Tary some more if you like" "I'm done with Tary for the evening" "Great! Then you can play with me!" Laura was a bit too delighted with that opportunity
Reality: Tarry barely holding on to Keyleth not looking cool at all. Taryon's mind: The scene from captain America winter soldier where he is holding the helicopter and the landing pad.
He knows how to have fun. After Scanlan began to become an unstoppable force, I think, Sam just decided to shelf it for a while, and just have fun with a temp character. He clearly doesn't care much to keep the character alive, seeing that he's called Vex a Little Elf Girl, and he wants to have much fun with this character before he brings back the Scanlan. At least thats what I hope.
@@agathiandevaraj9757 I think he geniuenly wanted to have an own arc like the others had and when VM got his daughter for the ritual they shorttracked that. So he got a new character with unresolved issues so that he can have his time as the "main character" as the others had. On the Play Mechanics side, I think he got a bit bored with the bard-spells, he is a great player that made one of the weakest class/race-combos in DND 5e work brillantly. It fits that he would choose Artificer (at the time only in Playtest), its a class that works to his strenghts.
@John O Its one of the things I liked as a DM none of my players were casters except the Eldritch knight but I just made it so it was a job in my world you take things to a diviner and they can cast Identify they can get visions of a items past (Magical or otherwise) and it was so much fun cos they would find Cursed magical Items and use them cos they knew it was magical but not what it would do, a example was a fainting axe with a fury curse on it, on a good Arcana check they knew it had a affect after they missed a attack (They had advantage on the next attack with it that turn) but didn't know what it was or that it even was cursed the curse being that if they took damage they had to make a wisdom saving throw DC 13 or attack the nearest creature for 1 minute or until they didn't take damage or make a attack. The fighter used it and got playfully punched by the barb and he lost it and attacked him until he ran and hid for 6 seconds and it was one of the funniest things to happen.
@@norandomnumbers Those rules are in the Dungeon Master's guide so the spells text wouldn't tell you this. Though I kind of prefer the earlier editions take on this. In 1E to Identify an object you still had to equip it to test the thing. Thus anyone who had cast Identify got the full effect of the curse. Granted Identify in 1E was rather hit or miss. A magic item never seemed to give up it's secrets willingly. I'm unsure if not being able to detect curses is an improvement. Any 5E game I've been a part of the DM either didn't know the curse rules or simoly was ignoring them.
A short rest does the same thing Identify does for magical items in 5e. So it really wasn't that big of a deal. Just saves time. Scanlan was the only person who could have ever learned it, anyway.
Vax and Grog playing hide and seek and Grog just ceasing to look, probably due to getting distracted/forgetting, resulting in Vax falling asleep in a barrel is the purest thing. I love that he realised Grog would be lonely and decided to just hang out and play with him
If you pay real close attention, Vox Machina failed Scanlan. Big time. I remember when Vex said something like without your spells and songs you're just a guy. Sam is the best DnD player on this show. This is my second time through and about 10 episodes back you really start to see how much VM failed Scanlan. He left because he was playing his character.
Digital Bash would you mind elaborating a bit? I know he had a rough time in the days leading up to Thordak but I also felt like nobody could defeat the 30+ DC insight checks to discern that he needed help.
I love how Taryon is establishing relationships with the crew a lot differently than Scanlan. It's kinda refreshing! Sam seems really happy with his new character.
Pretty sure laura mentions on Talks that they all didnt even realize they never introduced themselves to Tary. I love how Sam plays Tary and almost anti-metas by refusing to call them by their names because he doesn't know them!
@@xEvilRaptorx He kinda comes off as someone who never remembers *anybody's* names so far tbh, he also never asked them to introduce themselves, and some times it's hard to remember that you need to separate character from player and old character from new character when there's a sudden and unexpected change in the roster like this.
@@NatyaVT he in fact asks a few of them who were shitty towards him. he took a hint... and he introduces himself to them all of them... in some cultures it is very rude to have someone introduce themselves and not do the same in return.
@@shadophaxx2401 Ehh, technically he asked Vex first - only he called her "Little Elf Girl" (for the first time) in the process, and she was too busy BSODing/making Kill Bill sirens eyes to answer him XD
Keyleth and Taryon are such a good combo! I love the dynamic of Taryon getting starry-eyed about how cool she is, and then Keyleth following up with some incredibly dorky and hilariously uncool joke or action. Just, incredible, perfect
I love this dynamic because Scanlan didn't have that much of a bond with Keyleth if I remember correctly, and Sam just let Tary converse with the group based on his first impression with the group. He mingled immediately with Keyleth and Percy who didn't attack him, and he's kinda keeping his distance from Vax and Grog who did attack him. I think he's accessing the waters with Vex.
Taliesin really nailed this scene. Did you notice there was DEAD SILENCE while that conversation was happening, no shuffling of pencils or turning of pages or moving dice, the whole room was held rapt by Percy's quietly suffocating fears, it was one of those really amazing moments of RP that just hit all the right chords.
I'm not sure that they ALL got fed to the Demon. I feel like he'd pick and choose what would be most tempting to him, up until Percy meets the Briarwoods again. after that I'd think everyone's souls he killed were likely devoured. and most definitely Anna's before the Greater Restoration I'd like to think her being devoured is what gave Percy time to be resurrected. Orthax finished Anna because she arrived first before turning to his real feast.
I see Percy and Tary like Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. With Percy being a troubled scientist with a monster inside of him and Tary being a playboy inventor like Tony in the beginning of iron man.

Percy rolled an 11 perception and Vex rolled an 18, which is low for both of them, and the justification is that they're distracted by chatting with each other, but Percy is clearly more distracted than Vex. Taliesen said Percy was up there sketching as well, and on an 11 Percy clearly isn't paying attention to anything besides what's in the crow's nest, which means Percy is almost certainly secretly sketching Vex while they're chatting, which is obviously adorable.
TBH I don't think they could do it up there. I consistently get the impression that they can't make it through one night without something breaking, if only some knickknack on a bookshelf. Suffice it to say if they got it on at all on board ship, no one would have any question about what was happening.
I love how this brings up Vax being a caretaker again, in a way. Looking after Grog now he has no gnomes, it’s just sweet. He is a trickster and dramatic assassin, but he looks after people.

Catching up years later, just gonna say that Tary is such a fantastic character. I love the idea of a semi-incompetent wannabe adventurer who doesn't even really fight, just uses magic items and the like. So cool, so original, and Sam seems so in his element.
@@christofferhougaard "HUM ACKSHUALLY", according to Talks Machina, Sam said he wanted to be an incompetent adventurer, that high level because of money, not because of skill. Matt said artificer is perfect for you. Then he said, can I have a servant that writes everything, and Matt said "artificer it is, then!"
Their production time isn't NEARLY as long as either of those venerables however. Simpsons has a LOT of pre-airing work going in... A standard live action production has less than a cartoon, but still you are looking at months of 12-16 hr days... whereas (even counting Matt's game prep) you are looking at as much, if not more time on air than in prep. And of course, for them it's fun. Having people film ya might complicate it a bit... but they'd have this much game time put in anyhow, even if there was no show (albeit on a more monthly/bi-weekly basis ).
CorwinC73 Pretty sure the point here is that people have spent as much of their lives watching Critical Role as watching something as culturally significant and famously long-running as The Simpsons.
Thats what I said :) "as much if not more than" ...since it's kinda obvious only Matt preps much... with the tech end of things coming in second, and the players being often rather... um... un-prepped. Although I suppose, with the time Matt was putting in making the campaign book, it may have been longer than that for a while for him, in effect. But still, being generous, thats somewhere between 4-6 hrs prep a week... which doesn't even touch what goes into the other shows that were mentioned.
1:44:17 I’ll never stop loving how much Sam enjoys showing his characters’ failures It’s ironic that Sam keeps actively ridiculing his character, while Taryon then consistently has Doty erase any embarrassing details from the story he’s writing down
(Reaction thread) Aw, Vax hanging out with Grog because he's lost his gnomes. We've come a long way from 'A beast of a man who clearly despises me'. And Vex trying to get to know Tary. The twins are lovely when they go into 'under my wing' mode.
It's not suggested, it's proven that trinket is worse than useless he's a deadweight others used to have to carry for her. Like the past 3 fights with him going straight back into the locket XD XD XD
Part of Taryon having Doty to begin with is a jab at Vex and Trinket. Unfortunately while you see it as tit for tat the alternative interpretation is agreeing that those kinds of logistics are a pain in the ass.
I think Percy and Vex's conversation in his workshop is my favorite moment in all of campaign 1. Even though Percy saved Whitestone, and met the love of his life, he still wonders if his soul is beyond saving. Vex is so key to him becoming comfortable with sharing those fears, and ultimately forgiving himself. I live for moments like that.
That pause when he says he thought of shooting someone the second time is more than a little chilling when you realize there's a good chance he was referring to himself. The person who hates Percy the most is Percy. But I don't think he wonders if his soul is beyond saving...I think he's convinced it is and the love of his family, specifically Vex, is what gives him hope that maybe he can be saved; if someone as wonderful as Vex loves him then perhaps he's worthy of redemption.
@@CallistoTheWarriorQueen they are different in ways but some ways they are similar is they both lack self appreciation and don’t think they themselves deserve love or forgiveness but together they showed each other that they do deserve those things and they can give each other that

@@eggydoeseverything9646 I don't know... In a way that seems true, but also remember the argument after they found the skull before the Chroma Conclave tore Amon apart. That wasn't Grog being teasing.
Jestin Crawley If you're referring to what I think I remember, I thought that was Grog being blunt to make Vax realize he was turning into an asshole and stop to think about it, and I also thought (later) that might have had to do with recently finding Craven Edge and it making him more violent and evil without realizing it was coming from an outside source. Being already a Barbarian and quick to fight and kill, combined with his low intelligence it makes sense that he would just be a bit quicker to fight, or willing to hurt someone who didn't deserve it, or angrier than usual in general.
I love that all of them are interested, but not really concerned with the attacking ship. There's like, a palpable sense of, "It's not a sea monster, and it's not a dragon. It'll be MORE than fine."
@Paweł Dusza No worries, the "in media res" joke wasn't referring to anything specific, just an example of the extremely specific science-y bonding that these two new nerd buddies would have. Sam is sort of reinforcing the concern that Keyleth has that she can't connect with Percy on science stuff and that she was being replaced.
It was before stream, they were fighting the golden eye boy guy, and he had kids attached to him and they couldn't harm him without harming the kids. And she was trying to get the kid away from him, but the kids were attached by chains that were around their necks. so when she cast Grasping vine she broke the kids neck bc she just pulled on the kid and not the chain.
I love my Knowledge Domain Cleric for this reason. Been identifying everything since day one, the second he goes off for a while one of the party manages to petrify themselves by experimenting with some unidentified magic potions. =D
Well, Scanlan never took the spell. And never really invested in arcana knowledge, for reasons that baffled me. He's a great character, but kind of strange as a bard. I think it's because in Pathfinder, item ID isn't nearly as problematic.

@@shawngillogly6873 I think it didn't match the character, since he was a street kid and musician and in game has had no chance to rp towards arcana knowledge.

@@MorinehtarTheBlue I bet it's because the boots apply the Haste spell, aka if he was wearing the Sprinters Boots he probably wouldn't get the boost to flying
@@ofyuff8972 No it doesn't apply the Haste spell since the six second stun doesn't happen with the boots. It's bad to give a yes and a no to the same set of circumstances.
I think it’s also because he said during talks machina that Marisha/keyleth is the character scanlan interacted with the least, so with the fresh start he quickly rectified that
@@RaptorRocka Spell casters have to do a lot in campaigns, which lead to a lot of focus on marisha and criticism towards her and her character, mainly starting after Tiberious's deprature, because before that he also did casty things and was probably a bit too proactive in it, iirc.
@@RaptorRocka read the comments on the videos, especially the eariler ones between episodes 25-70. Half the comments were always distain for Marisha and Keyleth, and her decisions
I think it's also the absolute best pick out of all of VM, comedy-wise. Keyleth is awkward and kind and very dorky, and she's always trying to live up to being a wise and intimidating leader but often doubting herself and falling flat where she hopes to succeed, so the dynamic of someone with as much vanity as Taryon being so awestruck as to be almost scared of her is just hilarious
I dont remember which episode it was of campaign 2, but Matt said “regardless” and Sam immediately said “Matt i believe its irregardless “ and Matt’s face, still to this day, i always say to my teacher wife “I believe the word is irregardless “ god i remember dying laughing at that so bad
For those who want to watch back what Vex told Percy when he was dead, it's episode 69, starting at 1:11:30. She tells him that that day in Syngorn was so important to her, because he let her be part of something that was super special to him. After that she kisses him, and tells him "I should have told you, it [my heart] is yours"
NORMAL SIZE! That's racist! He was always a normal sized Gnome! Do you mean to insinuate that Gnomes are not of normal size and that it is the Humans, Elves and Orcs that determine the normal size!? (if not obvious it was a joke, you never know with sarcasm on the internet)
Funny how Keyleth is initially more concerned about Percy spending so much time with Taryon than Vex is, and also not taking advantage of quiet time to spend it with Vax.
Keyleth: "So what happened to my mother?" Me who seen every episode of both campaigns: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Taliesin is the kind of player I aspire to be (ignore the fact I'm the DM for my group lol). he's completely willing to accept Matt's rulings, but he tries to be clear about what he's trying to do. he's always just asking to see if he can do what he wants to do and is totally willing to accept the answer, even if it doesn't go his way. he's never combative or whiny. I adore him 🥰
As a Dm for 5 different games, (I'm insane I know this...) when I get to be a player I want bad shit to happen to my characters, because if you survive, that's a story to tell at the bar to other adventurers: "So that was the second time I was impaled by a succubus... but let me explain how number 3 was not my fault."
I aspire to have friends and acquaintences who understand that approach. Too often I have had my requests/questions taken as demands that people feel they can't say no to.
@@acelibrarian just gotta make sure you phrase stuff as questions, I think. don't leave anything to chance, don't expect other people will understand you're not demanding. I keep running into situations in life where I'm like "huh, what I mean and the words that came out of my mouth are not always the same thing" and it's just so much easier to make sure what you say is what you mean than it is to clear up misunderstandings later, ask me how I know 😅😅
@@sethescope I am as clear as I can be, to the point of blatantly saying "you can say no", "no worries if not", etc. and I still get negative feedback.
@@acelibrarian hmm then maybe your acquaintances/friends need to work on being able to speak up about how they feel and what they think in the moment. pobody's nerfect, as a wise man once said, but even regardless of how you act, they do still have a responsibility to say no when they want to say no. based on your librarian username I assume y'all are adults so that's super true for them. it's an important adult skill, after all
I love how they all barely react to their characters getting serious injuries anymore, like in the big dragon fights they were all beaten and bloody and messed up and they barely made a face, but the moment Matt tells Marisha Keyleth broke some nails everyone is wincing and grimacing in sympathy XD
Especially when walking in literal lava. Matt should have made them do some kind of constitution check to see if they could handle how brutal the purposeful damage would be on their minds.
Probably because they know from experience (or at least proxy) how broken nails feel like, but probably not how it feels to get mauled by dragons or face plant into running lava. It’s all about perspective
@@thetwilightgamer If you touch lava, you die. You probably don't even have time to feel much, as you get incinerated very fast. Lava rules are very soft on players on D&D.
Im starting to really love Taryon. He's like the perfect glass cannon. He has so much power at his disposal but doesnt have knowledge or experience to back it up. Really interesting character choice. Plus seeing Taryon and Sam figure out how to use their class effectively in real time is very funny. Its like art imitating life
It really isn't the motion that makes you seasick. It is the disconnect of not seeing the horizon move compared to what your body feels. One of the best things to do is go topside when seasick. That way it feels more like a roller coaster. Source: I am an old U.S. Navy sailor.
Kennith Weber it's a combination of different things that make up seasickness. Which makes the rig one of the worst possible places to be. The things around you move with you, you have a worse perspective on the waves than on deck and the motion is amplified a lot. Plus, the height thing makes lots of people who are ok with the motion go shit themselves. Considering how much easier it is to hurt yourself up high than on deck: baaad idea. Seasick person up high is the last thing anyone wants. Source: years of tallship crewing looking after trainees.
Maybe they should just start every stream with a test by having everyone break out into song before getting to the actual intro. They could edit out the goofy antics before uploading and it'd be a nice bonus for anyone viewing it live, giving even more incentive to catch the latest episodes. Stupid idea. Ignore my comment y_y
I love how Tary is a big mashup of other VM characters, and fits in really well! Got a pet like Vex, tinkering nerd like Percy, Luck Feat like Vax. He thinks Keyleth's the greatest leader of all time making her feel good (and marisha). I guess he has least to do with Grog :P edit: Oh right, he has Grog's Bag of Holding with a bunch of weird shit in it xD
Daniel Gies he is the Unearthed Arcanas beta version of artificer. I believe in the love one shot of the darington brigade, Sam and matt updated it a bit to match with the eberron artificer
Scanlan was far and away my favourite character, so I was devastated when he left the group. That being said, I fucking love Taryon Gary Darrington. Sam Riegel's just the best :)
“Your soul is forfeit!” Percy promised the dark shadow that any people he killed along the way towards his vengeance, their souls would be given to the creature. So anyone he killed back then is being feasted on just like he was. Seeing as how his deal is no longer in affect, I imagine there is no longer a link to siphon the souls to the dark shadow. So anyone he kills now is probably subject to the gods same as anyone else.
@@cathyshepard253 I agree. Scanlan severed his contract with Orthax by destroying the pact weapon. Then Percy went to the bad place because he was a name on Ripley's gun and she killed him but Keyleth severed the thread with Orthax so now it's a normal weapon and he should be fine when he dies.
Reeeeeeeally late to the show, but I LOVE how Tary is changing up the group dynamic. I remember Sam saying on an earlier Talks Machina ep that Scanlan didn't have a lot of RP interactions w/ Percy since they didn't have much in common or Keyleth due to actual seating arrangement since Taliesin is in the way. Here he just completely flips it around and being best buddies with everybody at his side of the table.
I love how Vax took it upon himself to make sure Grog wasn't lonely now that the 2 people that he hung out with the most are not there currently.
That’s exactly who Vax was, until the end… ( of the campaign )
Honestly, Sam is having a great time. "Can I be really incompetent while doing this cool thing?" "... yeah? Yeah! If you want to." "NICE" **falls off the ship**
I think that's what made Liam to do an insight check on Sam... He thought Sam is playing a great *temporary* character and pretending to be a weakling, so he might be a bad guy. But, it was just Sam trying to have fun to the fullest.
This exactly what I thought! Just enjoying the dynamic and personality of his character and allowing himself to fall and be incompetent for the sake of the humor that nerdy squishy potato of a man
"You can play with Tary some more if you like"

She was delighted at her own clever turn of phrase.
Laura has the best pickup lines.

That line needs to be in the show

Tarry barely holding on to Keyleth not looking cool at all.
Taryon's mind:
The scene from captain America winter soldier where he is holding the helicopter and the landing pad.
That was Civil War but I agree
@@Hebion95 your right XD thanks
Honestly that's how I viewed it. xD
Especially that parody scene where Capt leans over and gives his bicep a quick kiss.

Sam: rolls a critical hit and kills an enemy
also Sam: can I make it look lame please?
Matt: you fall into the water
Sam: YESSSS!!!
lmao yeah, sam is an entertainer through and through
He knows how to have fun.

And finally after almost 90 episodes , hundreds of hours , countless hints from Matt and 5 years someone learned identify
Their lack of the sending spell is what always bugged me. One area the M9 had it easier.
@@nafereuskortex9055 Identify doesn't reveal curses, so even if they had identified them they might use them and then get stuck with the cursed item.

Flash forward to around a 120 episodes or so in campaign 2 and.... 😴🥷 😱
Vax and Grog playing hide and seek and Grog just ceasing to look, probably due to getting distracted/forgetting, resulting in Vax falling asleep in a barrel is the purest thing. I love that he realised Grog would be lonely and decided to just hang out and play with him
And grog thinks vax playing a prank on him. So good. Only be better if he rolled good on that check and decided to actually prank him.
I wonder if Grog has ADD like Travis, that would honestly explain quite a lot
The funniest thing is Vax has a feat that means he can’t roll under a 10, but he doesn’t use it if it’s more funny to fail.
Sam really seems reinvigorated with Tary. I miss Scanlan but he seems to be having so much fun!
Personally I like tary more
I think scanlan was becoming onedimensional for sam. Always inspire, Always role 30+ for charisma checks, Always bigbee's hand, ...
at this point, nearly 5 years.. of ONE character. The *only* character Sam has ever played.
Gotta try new stuff sometime, ya know?

- "Where do the people I've killed go"? Bit of a shiver, I won't lie.
I LOVED that question. Didn't think of it and now I can't stop to do it.
And given that Orthax 'inspired' both The List & Animus, I think the answer is, at least until the Greater Restoration was cast, to the shadow demon.
3:02:35
Wild Reptile and Tary even /has/ an iron man!!!
It helps that Tary's parents' names are references to Tony Stark's parents' names.
Its so weird because talliesin and sam both said the same thing on the last episode of talks machina.....
@@CasparLeones oh I was laughing at 'Howard'. No idea that was an actual reference.

Break ends
@@SPACEHARICE thank you! I was only looking for the break end!
2:57:13 I love seeing Travis's face as he recognizes each time Taliesen/Percy says the wrong thing to Laura/Vex. He's been there and knows the wrath to come!
Travis definitely had the face of someone whose been there ahaha
Catching up years later, just gonna say that Tary is such a fantastic character.
I love the idea of a semi-incompetent wannabe adventurer who doesn't even really fight, just uses magic items and the like. So cool, so original, and Sam seems so in his element.
Also, by fucking Kord Artificers are COMPLICATED.
Congrats on Sam for tackling THAT beast of a class.
@@haku8135 this was unearthed arcana artificer (hence Doty existing) so it's slightly less complex, and overall rather different.
I also love how he doesn’t have a tragic backstory, he just wants to have fun and be a badass
@@MrSealemonHe doesn't have a tragic back story, but he does have a pathetic back story, which is in itself tragic.
I think Matt allowed Tary because Sam pitched the robot for Matt to play. Sometimes I think Matt just wants to be a part of Vox Machina.
Well. Almost. Sam told Matt that he wanted a servant who wrote down everything. And Matt showed him the artificer. :)
The "Mechanical Servant" is actually a class feature that was a part of the version of the Artificer which Sam was playing. It's not home brewed.
@@ATinyWaffle I was not implying the robot was homebrew.
Matt has stated before that Allura would be his character in the world . Since she’’s more like him
Do the folks at Critical Role realize that, measuring by hours, they're rapidly closing in on a run as long as The Simpsons? And that this is insane?
I tend to use Dr Who as my comparison. They've got a while yet.
CorwinC73 I wouldn't be surprised if Matt's prep time often equals or exceeds the runtime of the week's episode.
I love how when Laura asked Liam "how did you get over there?", he just made a "fffoooff" wings in air sound with shoulder shrug. :')
1:44:17 I’ll never stop loving how much Sam enjoys showing his characters’ failures
It’s ironic that Sam keeps actively ridiculing his character, while Taryon then consistently has Doty erase any embarrassing details from the story he’s writing down
(Reaction thread)
Aw, Vax hanging out with Grog because he's lost his gnomes. We've come a long way from 'A beast of a man who clearly despises me'.
And Vex trying to get to know Tary. The twins are lovely when they go into 'under my wing' mode.
This seems like a weird time to say it, but I'm really happy Vax is just casually bi.
Keyleth needing Tary's help after pointing out damsels in distress are really rare? God, I love a good coincidence.
I love how much of Vax's attraction to Keyleth is rooted in her /power/.
Oh, /shit/. Good call, Vax. Imagine if Taryon was Hotis or something!
Oh shit! There really /was/ someone trapped down there??? Jeez, thank god they checked!
I was really waiting for Laura to suggest that they just leave Doty behind as payback for all the times Scanlan suggested that about Trinket
Jay Clinton tbf they were fighting ancient dragons, not much a bear can do in that fight
@@jayclinton2801 except that Trinket is important for Vex, therefore not useless. Stop bear-hating
@@melusineshade8538 XD Fair enough. I was only bear roasting, never hate. Much love
They are so good for each other. Vex shows Percy he is worthy of forgiveness and Percy shows Vex she is worthy of being loved.
@@CallistoTheWarriorQueen they are different in ways but some ways they are similar is they both lack self appreciation and don’t think they themselves deserve love or forgiveness but together they showed each other that they do deserve those things and they can give each other that
As a Navy vet, I can't help but appreciate Tary busting out the semaphore demonstration.
I loved their reaction to it, "Who tf is semaphore?"
Does anyone know if he was actually signalling something, or just flapping the flags at random?
Spoilers for this ep
I love how around 3:03:00 when Percy is telling Vex about how he fears Orthax is torturing all the people he's killed with the Pepperbox/Animus, and Matt's just sitting there, staring contemplatively, and I can't help but think Taliesin is giving him all sorts of bad ideas lol

Are we not going to discuss Vax and Grog's friendship after they strongly disliked each other for a long time?
Both were good friends with scanlan and now that he left them they are trying to find what he saw in the other.
I thought that grog always like vax and played pranks on him bc thats what ppl do with their siblings, and vax misinterpreted it as dislike until the first fight with earthbreaker groon when grog chose vax to fight with him
Eggy Does Everything That was my same impression.

Seasick person up high is the last thing anyone wants.

the notion of someone being sick from above should worry anyone else on the deck :D
Oh my god I just realized... "Tayron - I drink wine and tell stories." LOL
I cant believe Matt has been sitting on her location this entire time
Break ends 2:27:04
Brandon W My hero
BEST advice
Love you homie
again Matt's opening monologue is not heard
#WeKnow
#YouShouldKnow people don't care and want to tell them again.
Maybe they should just start every stream with a test by having everyone break out into song before getting to the actual intro. They could edit out the goofy antics before uploading and it'd be a nice bonus for anyone viewing it live, giving even more incentive to catch the latest episodes. Stupid idea. Ignore my comment y_y
keep the goofy antics
By goofy antics I meant the sing test, by the way. Just making that clear in case it seemed like I didn't want all the traditional stuff we get.
I love how Tary is a big mashup of other VM characters, and fits in really well!
Got a pet like Vex, tinkering nerd like Percy, Luck Feat like Vax. He thinks Keyleth's the greatest leader of all time making her feel good (and marisha).
I guess he has least to do with Grog :P
edit: Oh right, he has Grog's Bag of Holding with a bunch of weird shit in it xD
I don't know if it was outright mentioned yet, he's an Artificer I'm assuming?
Daniel Gies he is the Unearthed Arcanas beta version of artificer. I believe in the love one shot of the darington brigade, Sam and matt updated it a bit to match with the eberron artificer
And also, with the fantasy books and figures...I suspect he's trolling Matt slightly as well
He has a lumbering, big, strong assistant who, contrary to Grog, can write.
It's funny that he has the luck feat, when in C2 he won't use halfling luck to benefit the party
Sam seems to be enjoying himself with the new character, which is always good
as i am watching this i am playing mass effect andromeda and just fought a krogan named strongjaw grog looks like someone at bioware is a critter
I wonder who voiced him
That's a dope Easter egg
Wish the critter was there before that game
Same! There is also a paint option for the nomad called Roll Initiative, made me smile. ^_^
Scanlan was far and away my favourite character, so I was devastated when he left the group. That being said, I fucking love Taryon Gary Darrington. Sam Riegel's just the best :)
Taryon and Percy look like kids who just met their best friend.
"Finally! Someone who speaks English."
@@TimpanistMoth_AyKayEll “Is that what just happened?”
All we found was a leg......next week "The last leg" of Keyleth's Aramente.
XD
See 3:23:18
@@cassandragidney7682 I read this comment at the EXACT same time in the show...... ROTFLMAO !!
Somebody hire this man! Brilliant.
I was shocked none of the cast picked up on that unfortunate phrasing xD
i will forever love the shit taliesin comes up with for percy's inventions, my man just made a gun mounted magic flashlight
1:30:44
"What if one day you died because of that?"
Oh, you mean a Taliesin character dying because of self inflicted damage? Can't imagine.
lol
cries in anticipation
Spoiler c2e123
Well his old character almost killed his current character, so it almost kinda happened twice
"where do the people I kill go" damn that was brain food
maybe for zombies
i saw this comment before percy said this and, i thought it was a line from grog
