Glad to see you doing well, man. Keep up the progress. We all believe in you! Critical Role helped me discover, alongside my current dnd group, my true passions in life and taught me to embrace them. Up until about a year and a half ago, I found that I was becoming very superficial - altering my personality and hiding who I am in order to fit in with people that I didn't dislike but relate with on a personal level. I am now hoping to change that by going to new events, new clubs in university (or, rather, another university) and trying to build a new friend group with whom I can relate wholeheartedly!
I don't normally post this kind of stuff but here goes: I got out of the Marine Corps about 3 weeks ago and I've been watching Critical Role mid last year, 2016 after a friend recommended the show to me. We went to some shitty places in the Middle East throughout my enlistment and he was essentially my D&D buddy. He always recommended the show, and I always told him that I'd get around to see it but I never did. When I first did we came back from a horrible deployment to where we were in some nasty part of Syria ( I won't go into that here. No one needs to know that kind of stuff). As we settled back in the US, I could tell the experience there got to him and he found peace in only a handful of things, but a notable one was his love for this show and the actors which voiced characters in our teen years. So I sat there with him, watching the show and we both enjoyed seeing Nerdy Ass Voice Actors doing their awesome thing for 3 to 5 hours and it was great. Unfortunately, my buddy Samuel took his life 2 months afterwards. The plague of PTSD got him and every time I watch this show I am reminded of him, but not because of what happened to him, but that when he was alive and we were around each other, this show is one of the things that we had and enjoyed together. So thank you, Geek & Sundry, Matthew Mercer & the rest of the Critical Role cast. This is what the show means to me. Something I can never repay, but let you know that I am grateful for all of you. Keep doing what you all do, because you guys are awesome at it. Your fans have your backs, always.
Arturo, I want you to know I read this out loud for the G&S office to hear. My family has served in every branch of the military over the past 4 generations. I've grown up with a profound respect for everyone who serves. There's no reply that can be typed up on UA-cam, that will do justice for the feelings your story evokes. Only to say thank you, so much, for sharing it. Thank you for letting us know Samuel's name, a Critter we lost but who is still very much a part of the family, as are you.
Thanks, Eric. It means a lot to me, and I'm very sure it would have meant a lot to Sam. Much love to the G&S crew, its actors, the supporters and essentially everyone. You guys will continue to be awesome as you've always been and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Thanks you, everyone in Geek & Sundry.
Thank you so much for sharing, Arturo. Stories like this make us all proud to be a part of this community, and proud that what we do is able to make such a difference. We appreciate your candor. Your support is something *we* can never repay, but we'll strive to keep delivering great content for great fans.
I saw Critical Role when it first came out but wrote it off from the poor sound quality. About a year and half later, it came back into my view as I was dealing with the harshest part of my PTSD. I gritted my teeth and made it through the sound quality of the very first episode. And 4 hours later I was on the next one without a panic attack that whole time. Fast forward, using Critical Role as a calming agent helped me finally secure a full-time job as a Graphic Artist. Now I listen to 2-3 episodes a work day (cuz I'm still catching up) and my symptoms are at the lowest they're been in over a decade. Thank you Critical Role. I hope to finally be caught up soon so I can watch the live show with you all with a sub and donations in hand for you.
Yah know... after watching this I kinda feel bad. I started watching Critical Role because I was working a 12 hour night shift, 4 days a week at a data center. I was the only one there for three of those nights, and I was bored. Critical Role kept me entertained. It didn't pull me out of some deep, dark place in my mind, or help me get over any major milestone in my life. It just helped me pass the time. I still watch it every day after I come home from my new job.
Late response but....even if your story isn't as 'dramatic' as others' , that doesn't mean it's less valid. CR is just excellent entertainment with a lot of heart.
Just because your story isn’t as dramatic as the others doesn’t mean it’s less important. Not all sessions need to be combat, we need the Lore drop and shopping sessions as well. But I also hope that CR has kept you well and helped get you through any hard times since you posted this.
Im sure no one will ever end up seeing this but I'm going to say it anyway for the few that do because they matter. We are a family. Us critters have to stick together. We all wound up living in the wonderful land of Tal'Dorei for one reason or another. We've sat next to each other when Clarota (Clarence) turned on Vox Machina or when Raishan struck down the beloved Percival and the wondrous and quick-witted Scalan. But If you think back to Kraghammer and when you watched that episode for the first time, we all know something lead us here. That thing is love. Someone in this community may one day save your life. So let's remember to reach out to one another! I think I may create a discord soon (granted I'm very bad with discord) but i'd like to try. Anyway Im rambling. Have an amazing day!
Likewise! This is such a wonderful community and it's uplifting to see the pinnacle of human kindness through an RPG and it's fans. If you do create that discord and it gets going, let me in on that shit! There don't seem to be very many critters in Ireland from my experience though.
Matthew Mercer you are an amazing human being. I want you to know that Matt. Some say that all you do is sit back and do funny voices, but you do so much more! You put so much life into the world that you have made that we actually connect with characters! Its not you alone of course, but you set the foundation. With the work of you nerdy ass voice actors you have saved lives Matt. And for that I can say this for all of us, thank you.
Well, I am from Egypt and I can't record and upload a video.. but 1.5 years I found out that all good games come from dnd then through searching I found critical role on youtube and I can't write everything in a comment but you people have no idea what you mean to me and it's not a small thing that 40-50 thousand humans just sit and imagine the same thing every week, we are the realm that critical role happens in!! in our collective brains critical role materializes (if only we can invent something that takes us there!!) you have built a beautiful world to experience and to love; thank you for that.. I hope I could play dnd with you some day it's on my bucket list, it would be my first game of dnd :)
I know my story doesn't matter but here it is. I'm 18 years old still in highschool in a vocational school im a welder and I work in a steel fabrication plant, it's not a area that you can be nerdy in without being made fun of to the point you quite, but I love nerd culture, I love rpg's and I love D&D and there's been times where my depression and anxiety get the best of me and the only way out is to sit back with a good game and a little critical role, its saved me and I'm happy I have a family here where I can be myself thank you critters
A bit late, sorry, but just wanted to tell you that your story matters as much as any other, please, give yourself the same love and support you give to others. As an Internet rando, I tell you, I am so happy that Critical Role allowed you to tame your depression/anxiety. Lots of love to you and any critter reading this comment.
I haven’t been a Critter for a long time, not even a year. But if there was anything that really drew me to the show and made me a fan was because of how less alone I felt watching it. I don’t have many friends, or even people who share my interests in passing, so I’ve always kind of felt alone. Seeing a bunch of people who not only have similar interests to me, but also are so unabashedly themselves made me feel less alone. It’s true I don’t know these people personally, but just watching these Nerdy Ass Voice Actors have fun together has made me feel more confident and comfortable to be myself in a way. And I hope they never lose this friendship they all have, it’s truly something special
When I first started watching, I was unemployed and had dropped out of university. Now, I'm in a fairly prestigious university game design course, and DM once a week, and play as a rogue gunslinger once a week too. Critical Role helped me change my life for the better.
Critical Role means SO MUCH, to sooo many people. It's really beautiful to hear all these wonderful people speak on how Critical Role has inspired them.
I wish there had been a reaction video of the cast watching this. There definitely would be lots of smiles and tears. Critical Role has made an impact on my life though. It prompted me to want to get back into D&D, and now I DM for some friends I've known for years. We're having a blast and are always keeping in touch and talking about the campaign. It's given us something new to look forward to, and I don't think this would have ever happened if I hadn't started watching Critical Role. I'm still working my way through campaign 1 and just finished episode 87, and I can't wait to see where things go from here. Thanks for everything Ashley, Liam, Laura, Marisha, Orion, Sam, Taliesin, Travis and, of course, the ever amazing Matthew fuckin' Mercer!
I feel the need to admit something, something I'm not too proud to say, I've only watched 2 episodes. Please don't judge me too hard for that. Because that's all it took for these amazing people to spark a creativity dwelling within me that I thought long gone. So since then I've been busy, drawing, writing, even began to craft a campaign, from scratch, interactive map, detailed backstories for every NPC. And though that project is on ice right now, I'm still creating, and even managed to find myself in a fortnightly D&D campaign, my first proper time playing and I don't think I've ever enjoyed myself as much as I do sat around that table being somebody else, while knowing half of the players far less than I know their characters. That's crazy, I know, but we all smile, and laugh, and care deeply. And I wouldn't have that were it not for critical role giving me my spark back. So on the small chance that any of them are reading, thank you.
Bidet to all you amazing loving Critters! We are all family for we all love one amazing show that brought us all together for hours of joy and a bit of sadness from time to time.
I've discovered that video only now bc I'm critter not for a long time, just around 2 years. I'm with all that was said in that video! You guys are amazing. It's inspiring and uplifting what you do! English is not my native language so i was little upset when because of awful circumstances all of my language's subtitles have been gone. So, for a little time, i had thought about creating a channel with your videos and custom subtitles, from your permission of course, to offer critters from my country access to your show despite everything. But it seemed a lot of work for who is not fluently speaking and bc of videos length, so i have abandoned that. Instead, while i was fully in apathy, i have watched a lot of campaign videos and feeled that I'm already thinking at English 😮😅 All i wanna say is that a critical role for me is an opportunity to get inspired and imagine things that you didn't ever know is possible, to following a story that is greater than any book and complicated as life is, is a way to feel support and love and to estimate its legit importance in real life... And it's really interesting to see and its so deep when someone's real relationships intertwined with imagined and it turns into an intricacy where you no longer realize the boundaries of the real and the fictional, this is already something bigger and more beautiful... I'm really glad to know all of you, actors, and intrested in watching all along your imagination can take you. With deepest love, from russian critter ❤ (please, don't bring politics here, thx)
Rewatching this for the 100th time and it still gets the waterworks going. I've seen interviews with the cast and how emotional they can get when they talk about fan interaction and what CR is to the entire fan base, and by God this family is incredible. I love each and every one of you, cast, crew and fans. I have a huge commute, I work at LAX for the TSA (being a part of one of the most hated security administrations is not what I call ideal but I had military experience and I like helping people so this was as close as I could get to a fulfilling career) but I live Just east of Pasadena along the gold line, and I have to kill about 2 and a half hours one way 5 days a week... CR has been the saving grace of my travels and I can't begin to thank y'all for everything. Keep kicking names and taking ass
This is effing fantastic. I don't know how many people will see or read this, but this little Critter needs to say something: When I stumbled blindly upon this magnificent world of Tal'Dorei and VM, I was very surprised to learn that some of my favorite voice actors were playing D&D. I hadn't played D&D in a while, and had never touched 5E, so I was a little bit confused, but my friends and I were playing Pathfinder (and still are, more than 2 years later), and so this intrigued me. It was very surprising (and yet somehow not at all) that these fine folk were more than just passionate about their game, but humble, kind, and very much the type to reach out and accept anyone into their world that they had crafted. It was that kind of unconditional acceptance and love, in my estimation, that drew such a quickly-amassing army of equally caring individuals, and created this colossal extended family of people from all around the world and all walks of life. So, in short: Thank you for allowing our worlds to merge and for helping to create the glorious Critters. To borrow from my favorite anime spawned from my favorite game: We are One and All.
I wouldn't have been able to get through my darkest days without them. They were my distraction and what helped me get through each day with laughter by starting it and ending it watching critical role. "The Adventure begins. They were always beside you, your nerdy best friends and the DM to guide you" seriously was deeper to me than it was probably intended to be.
It is indescribably amazing that all these people have such a strong bond to a group of people that are just playing a game. I myself have no interesting story but have surely the same feeling towards Critical Role as all these people do. I had never heard of D&D before i started watching. I am adopted and was raised on a ship and D&D was just simply not in my world. But now you guys and gals at CR. Thank you for enriching my life. I am inspired to seek it out myself so am still looking for people to play it with in Groningen. PS: Too bad i will not be able to meet you all at Dutch Comic Con this upcoming weekend i would have loved to meet you all there since flying to the US is not an option for me currently.
I know I'm 3 years late, but I love this place. The show, the critters, everything. The community is so great and supportive to each other. One BIG drawback to just now going thru the show is being unable to participate in things like this or the kickstarter. The show has introduced me to so many things, not just dnd related. Books and authors I've never read, music and bands I never heard of and wish I had earlier(how did I not know about chvrches), evenother games I was unaware even existed. I'm thankful for all of this. But I am most thankful for thegame group. Critical role renewed my belief in the game itself for what it should be. When I first imagined dnd, this is the ideal I hoped for. A group of friends playing the game just to play and have fun. Not trying to be the most badass with all the greatest gear. Plus I love stories, and the thought of being able to contribute to one pleased me to no end. For years I'd had bad experiences with groups and was gonna give up on it all together. Watching critical role has made me decide not to give up,just use a different tactic. Using advice from a much earlier episode I've decided to try looking for a group that is looking for more of the same things I am in a game. I know my little snippet here isn't a heartwarming story like others on here, but it's still important to me and I just wanted to put it it there. Do with it what you will.
I discovered Critical Role a month ago. My husband is deployed and it's just me and my son here with family states away. This show has helped so much to get through the tough times and reawaken my love of D&D again. I even introduced my son's godfather (who originally, along with my husband, got me started playing the game) to it and he loves it just as much as I do. We are even talking about starting up a campaign online so we can play together again even while we are far apart. Thanks so much guys!
Just found Critical Role only last week and I'm about 3-4 episodes in and I share the same enthusiasm as these Critters do. You guys are amazing and an inspiration well beyond you can imagine. You've opened the door to RPG tabletop games for me and it's a world of caring and imagination that I could never have found without Critical Role. So thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart. P.S. The cosplaying elf made me swoon when she asked if it was thursday yet
CantNotRemember there are less than a handful of episodes that don't have moments that will make you laugh out loud or cry. It's worth the hours of binging. I started binging and finally caught up in February. Worth it.
Im 59, I started playing in 1981, but was away from it a long time. I was in tears watching this, we are a very different, and amazing fandom. Critters are the best, and we're drawn to the best. The cast, crew, everyone involved with CR are just amazing. Im nearly through the first campaign (started about 6 months ago) and im hooked forever. Maybe because it's just everyone giving of themselves. No scripts, nothing preconceived, just everyone putting it on the line. I love you guys, thank you so much for everything you do. And thank you critters for being who you are. Don't ever let anyone tell you you're not amazing, cuz you are.
To answer what Critical Role means to me: My story is very similar to ones I've seen on here. I have depression that is chronic, and every day I wake up, I feel like I survived another battle, only to have the battle begin anew. When I found CR, I came here from watching Titansgrave on G&S, loving the immersive nature of it. I haven't RPed in over a decade, nobody really around me having the time to play. And since I dont own a computer, everything is pretty limited. However, watching CR got my creative juices going, so much so that I took the Initiative (lol; see what I did there? 😂) and created a character class that doesnt exist in 5E, and have been RPing right along with you guys, imagining myself in the situations VM inevitably finds themselves in. I've laughed with you, cried with you, and if there is anything I'm reminded of, it's this: 1) "You never turn your back on family....even when they do." ~ Dominic Toretto, Fast 8 2) "When you can't run, you walk. When you can't walk, you crawl. When you can't crawl...when you can't do that...you find someone to carry you." ~ Firefly ep. 11, "The Message" Having said that, I just want to say to the cast and crew of CR...thank you. Thank you for being the family you are, thank you for bringing us Critters along with you on your adventures, and most of all, thank you for being the family some of us wish we had, and thank you for carrying those of us who felt like we couldn't crawl, let alone walk or run. Thank you all. It is truly an honor and a privilege, watching some nerdy-ass voice actors play this wonderful game.
I discovered CR through a friend only three weeks ago, and I am trying to speed through the back log to be able to watch live while knowing all the story, and I have to say this is by far one of the shows I appreciate most. I can see a lot of love in the community and even if I'm not watching it live yet, it does leave a warm feeling behind. Hopefully my binge watching of the series will be fast so I can join you guys soon every thursday night ;v; To the cast, the crew and the critters: you are all amazing.
I know I'm late to the party on this, but hey, here goes. I'm currently on C1E112, and I'm watching C1 + one-shots (Liam, you're a genius and amazing and I relate SO much). When I first heard about CR, I figured "oh, another D&D production. because that's always worked so well in the past." I was busy with other things, and other interests. I wish I had taken the time and started watching so much sooner; the past 5 years have been extremely hard for me. I've lost multiple family members, and lost touch with more. I've become a glorified hermit. Sometimes, it's hard to keep going, or to even have a reason to. Then I started watching. I fell in love with the story first, then the world, then the characters, and finally the players. The stories you create, the feelings you share, they give back the empathy that I try so hard to give but feel like I so rarely get back. But with CR...I feel like I'm seen. Even thousands of miles away and without any chance to ever talk to any of you, I still feel seen, and heard, and appreciated. Thanks to CR, I finally put my own first world onto paper (proverbially). I've started DMing for the first time ever, and I'm absolutely loving it. I've created flawed characters and dived into their roles with full passion and immersion. Lue'grim Aloro, the idealistic bard; Jasper Silvereyes, the jaded-but-clinging-to-hope rogue and his ghostly companion Richard Colinflicker. You guys gave me the inspiration to know that this little tingling itch to create is worthwhile, and a set of goals to aspire to, even if unintentionally. I feel like there is worth in going on, like I have something to aspire to now. And seeing CR do SO well, it makes me know beyond any shadow of a doubt....I am NOT alone. Thank you so much.
Critical role means saving my life to me i was also ready to end it but i found inspiration here i went out and bought d&d books for the first time since high school it's something i has forgot about until i found critical role thank you guys ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Critical Role gave me a reason to keep going after being left with my father who left me at the age of nine. As well as having to move to another in the middle of high school. Oh wait it gets worse. Then at the beginning of this year my mother passed away. However it does get better. I have transformed our anime club into D&D club and I'm forging ahead in life in great part to Critical Role. Thank you. All of you. Gnome Bards are the best to play! Thx Sam!
This video brought me to tears. I know I'm coming to it late, but ... it's never too late. It's hard to articulate how an online D&D campaign "changed my life." Critical Role ... thank you.
It made me want to DM. I don't want to just play. I want to make a world where people want to spend time. I'd lost that piece of myself that 'imagined'. 3 or 4 episodes in and I'm thinking about NPC'S. Like a shopkeeper that only keeps overnight hours because he had insomnia for a few weeks once. Then realized during that period of sleep deprivation that he'd have a monopoly on all the customers because he was the only place in town open. He's doing very well lately and has pretty decent prices.
This video is truly beautiful. I recently just started watching critical role, my first episode being #105 and seeing it as something so different and enjoying it, I can say that I have never felt such extreme inspiration. Though it can get slow at times I really enjoy the imaginative world that we can develop together and am truly grateful that they have been doing this for all of us and having fun on their own as well! Stay awesome everybody and continue enjoying the world around you, oh! And by the way... Is it Thursday yet?
Michael Meek It’s a reference to the show actually 💙 there was a moment that whent something like this Keyleth: Guys... we're frineds right? Percy: worse... pretty much everyone: ... we're family.
I know I'm a year late but see this... seeing what I was missing over the years. My heart hurts watching this know what I missed. All the discussion, the community coming together to share story. I wish I had been there for the journey. I'm currently spending a day, everyday listening to every episode trying to catch up the second campaign.
For me, Critical Role taught me what it was like to have the qualities of a hero. And I'm not talking 'battling monsters' or 'saving the day'; I mean the little things, like having the resolve to carry through thick and thin, depression and uni. Today, I run my campaign of Pathfinders with 9 players and am in a campaign of D&D 5e; I just want to thank all you critters out there AND Critical Role for helping me through the astounding honesty and support provided. Today, I design lighting, work in lighting agencies and am already on the way to a career in Lighting Design despite only being in my first year of uni. Thank you all, you lovely people ^_^
Critical Role improved my confidence performance in the bedroom. Thanks Critical Role! *Please ask your physician if Critical Role is right for you. Seek a physician if effects last longer than 6 hours.*
Critical role got me to dm my very first dnd campaign and I love it, the cast and characters are so relatable, I love critical role not just because it is fun and entretaining but also because it inspires people to keep on fighting the good fight to live and create
Critical Role is not only a wealth of inspiration for me as a D&D player and dm. It's a great escape to enjoy a world where powerful things can happen and people can have so much fun doing something so simple. (I know you work very hard Matt and it's not simple, but I appreciate it.)
This video is very touching, it shows that no matter what hardships we face in life, all it takes is one thing to cling to, even if it's just a bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors, to make it matter. My love and respect goes out to all in this video, to have the courage to show their feelings and what joy Critical Role has had on their lives
my husband got me into it two years ago this past Oct. - I think - and as someone who has a strong faith and strives to find others who gets my quirkiness, I am so thankful for a community like this...it is hard to find. I find it hard to talk to others because of anxiety, and this show has helped me. I hope I can meet each one of you someday and give you a big hug!!!
i have been playing catch up now for about 2 months and i honestly have to say every time i watch this show i put everything down and just watch which has never happened because of a show before i usta write small stories and tales but after a few times i just kinda forgot i wrote because it was fun and now i have tons of thoughts for characters and home brews and stories i just wanted to say thanks you guys matt your stories are so well thought out that it makes me want to make a campaign and try out being a DM so thank you from me to you guys
Critical role, you have had my attention, since episode 7 came out on youtube, i am hooked on the casts witty antics, and the character depths, the story, the world, the fans, the charities, and the amazing way you all have an ability to improv so easily. what critical role means to me could only be explained as vex's love for trinket, grog's love for trade, percy's love for his sister, vax's love for vox machina, pike's love for the people in the world of tal'dorei, scanlan's love for his daughter, keylith's love for world peace, terry's love of adventure, gilmores love of the spectacular, keemas love for allura, viktors love for finding a use for useless things, and even trinkets love for ear scratchings. i want this story to last a few years, but i know thats selfish of me. i wish you all the very best of luck. stay strong, and try not to bugger it all up.
I was born and raised in Brasil and just recently came to USA for college. I made friends fairly quickly, but I had to go months and months without seeing my family. With that, the stress of college, and the self-doubt, it started to get way too hard. Critical Role not only gave me a reason to keep going and to look forward to next week, but every time i watched a video it felt like I was home, with my family. It was such a cozy and loving and fun show to watch, and I became a fan immediately. Now, I DM a game with my friends every sunday, something we all apparently have always wanted to do, but no one wanted to say anything about it for fear of being "nerdy" and made fun of (pft, as if haha). So thank you, CritRole, thank you, Critters, from the bottom of my heart. I don't know where I'd be without you all.
Like so many people have said, critical role saved my life. I was going to a really bad depression and finding this show got me to want to play and I got to meet a great group of friends and thanks to that and professional help I'm better now! Thank you critical role and all the critters out there!
You critters are too good for this world. I love all of you and am so glad to call myself part of the family. Because of this beautiful community i got to dm for a group of lovely critters and friends and i am looking forward to the future of this community and my dear dear friends.
Wow, what an amazing community :). As someone who is totally new to Critical Role, I am blown away equally by the community and the content itself. You are all amazing, folks!
Critical Role is a vortex of humanity, and allows each and every one of us to not just watch, or even imagine, but immerse ourselves in the experiences, joys, and sorrows of lovable and hilarious characters. For me that means I can connect not just with these characters, the amazing people who play them, but with the entire community that shares my ideals, dreams, and wishes, all founded in friendship. I have made friends and begun campaigns, crafted terrain and painted miniatures, all because I wanted to know what next Thursday would bring. In the end, it brings a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors together to play dungeons and dragons, while each and every one of their fans is along for the ride. Is it Thursday yet?
I found critical role in the worst time in my life a time I still face, I came in at the beginning of campaign 2, and was at once and foremost attracted to the great friendship these people have, and gives me hope and joy in these hard times and when I feel I have none outside of this. So thank you guys and think God that I can draw strength from your love for each other and manners to your fans such as my self.
This is the perfect testament to just what an amazing thing roleplaying gaming is. It pulls us out of our shells to come to a safe place to let your imagination and spirit run wild - and most importantly, to do it together, collaboratively, with other people. It demonstrates the artist and thinker in all of us, and shows us that we aren't alone. We. Aren't. Alone. How strange and amazing that after all these decades, it's this incredibly human, endlessly unique and unreproducible hobby that the sometimes distancing and ironic internet has allowed it such reach that we can all share it together.
Just wanted to say that I'm thankful for all these amazing episodes that I watched and for those that I'm going to watch. Critical Role was something I was thinking about watching for a looong time but never got around to it and after few first episodes I started binge-watching the episodes. Now I'm at 87 so still long ways to go but at least I have something to watch during the sleepless nights (mental problems are fun!). Trying to get my friends to play DnD but coordinating that is hell. Once again thank you
IT BRINGS MEMORIES OF WHEN ME AND MY FRIENDS PLAYED EVERY weekend IN THE MANAGERS OFFICE AT THE MOVIE THEATER and that was my release of the world i was afraid of. i was shamunta with the blood of a bronze dragon chosen one of the god a war tor carry his reign of chaotic good justice! battling the pain of losing family with the idea its ok.life will go on only for the better when i made the choice to make it ok and that was my friends telling me thru gaming they cared! so i see every Thursday is my day to feel that one more as my day to feel that again with today's issues. so beautiful love you all!!! thx !
I love critical role because doors are my biggest nemesis as well and i finally see I'm not alone :D great video, really compelling to see that you having fun and sharing that can influence a lot of others in a positive way :) stay awesome :D
these are awesome! and why i love d&d and other table top rpgs . But the most important thing is it shows that no matter how broken you are or hopeless it seems there is always someone or something worth fighting for
Love this community it is a great one and glad to be apart of it been watching for almost a year now i am looking forward to Thursdays and Tuesdays really any show that they come on and also get super excited to play the games that they voice over in like in FFXV with Cor felt like i was playing alongside Matt. Ready for TONIGHT!!
Ugh! There needs to be a Critter Convention, I've never been part of a fandom where I would be just as eager to meet fellow fans as I would be to meet the cast! Beep Beep, Bidet, & Infinite mayonnaise to you all❤❤❤
Since i live in germany im sadly far away from the rest of the comnunity. But what it is like to be part of this amazing community has already been said. so i will say this: Critical Role is D&D at it's best. Matt is a perfect example what a DM should be. As for the rest of the cast ... if you have as much fun as they have playing than you are golden. I can't explain it any better because words are not enough to explain it. (seriously how do you explain the apeal of D&D) Now for the actually showpart. 9 now 8 very talanted voiceactors each doing a amazing performance ....do i really have to tell you how great the show is? Hopefully one day i catch up with the show so i can switch from youtube to live episodes. Thank you so much for doing Critical Role.
My boyfriend and I started watching Critical Role a few months ago (we're about halfway through!). It made him want to play for the first time. We're starting our own business designing 3d tiles for the game and Matt inspired me to DM for the first time. Honestly, it's not just the game but the community of Critters that make such an impact on our lives. Thanks guys!
well i am also i german guy who wakes up every friday at 3:30 am to watch critical role before work for half a year now and i don't regret it at all :D , by the way just thank you for sharing you world with us and make us smile , laught and even cry every week
I don't know why I thought it was just me that found CR at a dark time in my life, but there you go... thanks to you all for being so entertaining, I need to go right back to the start and watch the way that the characters got to where they are now!
So I didn't get into this video cus i simply forgot to sumbit something. But I just wanted to say that Critical role got me into DMing and my groups love it so far. It also gets me through the stress of soon getting my therapy, which im scared as heck for. I try to play D&D with some many people, purely to try to grant them the joy I get from watching Critical Role, and I succeed most of the times. So thank you
Man. I need to interact more with the critters. I so wanna be a part of this community! I'm still catching up on campaign 2 and got obsessed with d&d. Wait for me at the newest episode guys!
I love critical role. I have NEVER played D&D, would love to but it's obvious who you play with is even more important than what you play. Mercer has raised my expectations for DM (or is it GM?) so high that it would be hard to fill those shoes. I truly enjoy joining the journey with Critical Role, and I've watched every single episode since the start. Now it's my weekly doze of happiness and some other mixed feelings. Mostly happiness. I am considering watching it live some day, even when it starts 4am my time. Keep it going and... is it Thursday yet?
5 Reasons why I love CR. 1) Matt is the greatest DM I have ever seen in my life. 2) The PCs are all professional actors who elevate the RP to the next level. 3) Epic. 4) As. 5) Fuck.
Lol and here is me wishing I could make a Facebook group chat full of people who love dungins and dragons. Well I really love how this brings people together in hard times and makes it fun! You guys are the best !
I clicked on this Friday morning and was not prepared for the power of this video in in my apartment about to go to work and crying thinking 'Thank Sarenrae for Critical role'
Before critical role I was a closet geek. Now, I annoy my friends with geeky shit all the time. Greatest community I've ever seen. Your all realy nice and accepting people and that is something new to me. Helped me with my social anxiety and now I'm as confident as ever before. Thank you critters and fellow geeks. 💋
Lots of life changing events happened these last few years for me too and CR (Critical Role) helped me through them. With that said CR group, although we all love your content make sure to always feel free to change things up if you want to. If you all want to do something else please feel free to. I'm 99% sure all of us critters will enjoy the new vids. / content if you all post them. No expectations from us critters, most of us simply love the CR team and the opportunity to tag along. Cheers! :D P.S. I'd be game for another PvP event; I'm sure Percy, Vax. and Grog would love to go all out in another brawl with those new "toys" they have >:D.
I love critical role because there is no other community that I know of that makes me feel the way I feel when I watch the show. Critical role brings people together to the world of Exandria. Critical role makes a simple game into a world unlike any other. Critical role is something I can't put into words. critical role is the best thing that has happened to my life for a long as I can remember. critical role is a series that made a family. a family that never leaves. a family where we all are here for one another. a family that lives.
Tears, smiling and goosebumps, all at the same time. If not for Critical Role, I'd never imagine to DM a large group of people, even in conventions and put the foundations to the first roleplaying club in my city.
critical roll is a place that helps me with my problems helps me get thru the hard days and has gotten me into building my own dungeons and just helped me in so many ways i can't explain thank you critical roll for everything :) *tear*
This is my timestamp - 1:43 - here is the full text of what I said: > You know me as @Dasbif on Twitter, Twitch, UA-cam, and reddit. To me, Critical Role is about *Friendship*. What I see on-screen is the exact same game I play with my friends, my own D&D groups, except I get to experience this one game with tens of thousands of other people - you people. I really, really mean it. That is why I love Critical Role: it is a real DND game. It is friends playing for themselves to have fun. That's why it is so much more successful and entertaining to me than other RPG show variants over the years - they aren't doing it for the audience, for the show, as entertainers. They are playing for themselves first and foremost, and that makes it so much more intimate and more enjoyable. It shows. It comes through. It's why the community has sprung up and rallied around this game. I know my sentiment of "friendship" is cheezy, but that's what it really is. That's the special something that makes Critical Role above and beyond, and makes this show and this community amazing. *** Brilliant work by Eddie cutting and editing the fan video, by the way. Mad props, amazingly done, and second only to what all of these people had to say in their segments. Thanks to Brian for the idea and making it happen. Thanks to Matt for making the players want to show up every week. Thanks to Liam, Laura, Ashley, Travis, Sam, Taliesin, Marisha for all of your character traits, as yourselves and as their characters. Thanks to the community, for everything you had to say.
I wish I could of sent my own video, but you all speak volumes more than I can. Critical role is family, the only thing I have left anymore. Much love pppl much love
I actually just got a critical role tatoo I wont post any spoilers but it's some of the last words in the show and something that becomes iconic to the character ❤
it... it starts with me... i.. i was not expecting that. i love every critter, thanks to all of you
Glad to see you doing well, man.
Sretnuh you go buddy, this family is rooting for you, also thank you :')
I don't normally post this kind of stuff but here goes:
I got out of the Marine Corps about 3 weeks ago and I've been watching Critical Role mid last year, 2016 after a friend recommended the show to me.
I hope you've caught up and are doing well
"Critical Role means family, and family means no one gets left behind" That's what broke me.
Yes, Lilo and Stitch is an emotional film.
@@30noir I appreciate this comment.
Yah know... after watching this I kinda feel bad.
You'll be surprised who sees what.
I see you :)
I see you :)
I hope I could play dnd with you some day it's on my bucket list, it would be my first game of dnd :)
critical role puts a smile on my face, even when Life is beating the hell out of me.
To that woman who was worried she was too old for RPG, I wanna role some dice and tell stories with her!
Are you kidding? The older you are, the bigger the backlog of experiences to draw from for those stories! Older players are the BEST players!
They've read this. I know they have! :D
2 episodes is still 6+ hours :)
Bidet to all you amazing loving Critters! We are all family for we all love one amazing show that brought us all together for hours of joy and a bit of sadness from time to time.
Beep beep
Nice to see the faces of the community. Thanks everyone for submitting. Keep up the great work CR!
Instead, while i was fully in apathy, i have watched a lot of campaign videos and feeled that I'm already thinking at English 😮😅
All i wanna say is that a critical role for me is an opportunity to get inspired and imagine things that you didn't ever know is possible, to following a story that is greater than any book and complicated as life is, is a way to feel support and love and to estimate its legit importance in real life...
To borrow from my favorite anime spawned from my favorite game:
We are One and All.
I did not expect this to make me cry god damn
I wouldn't have been able to get through my darkest days without them. They were my distraction and what helped me get through each day with laughter by starting it and ending it watching critical role.
"The Adventure begins. They were always beside you, your nerdy best friends and the DM to guide you" seriously was deeper to me than it was probably intended to be.
Wasn't expecting such a deep a relatable collection of tales. Critical Role is important to so many people all over the world man.
P.S. The cosplaying elf made me swoon when she asked if it was thursday yet
been watching for about 3 weeks. only on episode 44
CantNotRemember omg. I've been watching for a month and I'm only on ep. 15 😣
CantNotRemember i skipped here and there watching highlights on youtube incase i missed something lol
CantNotRemember there are less than a handful of episodes that don't have moments that will make you laugh out loud or cry. It's worth the hours of binging. I started binging and finally caught up in February. Worth it.
Got there through HighRollers, watching since two days ago, currently midway through episode 5. I'm never gonna catch up xD
CerberV I so wish I could forget every episode just to watch it all again.
It helps others discover something I've known was great for years, D&D & role playing in general.
IM NOT CRYING AT WORK YOU'RE CRYING AT WORK ;___;
your right. im not crying. im bawling.
I cried during this because its true critical role helps us (im mean Scanlan helped me through my suicide attempts)
To answer what Critical Role means to me:
My story is very similar to ones I've seen on here.
I've laughed with you, cried with you, and if there is anything I'm reminded of, it's this:
1) "You never turn your back on family....even when they do." ~ Dominic Toretto, Fast 8
2) "When you can't run, you walk. When you can't walk, you crawl. When you can't crawl...when you can't do that...you find someone to carry you." ~ Firefly ep. 11, "The Message"
Having said that, I just want to say to the cast and crew of CR...thank you.
I love you all
Critical Role gave me a reason to keep going after being left with my father who left me at the age of nine.
The fact that I made it into this video still blows my mind. Much love to the whole G&S crew.
Is it Thursday yet?
we are no friends we are something far worst we are family.
Tycho van Woggelum worst?
its not worst if you choose the family mate, only can be better.
Michael Meek
It’s a reference to the show actually 💙
there was a moment that whent something like this
Keyleth: Guys... we're frineds right?
Percy: worse...
pretty much everyone: ... we're family.
Thanks you killed me
I know I'm a year late but see this... seeing what I was missing over the years.
Rectangular Businessman ah.. This explains alot
frank zeches had that issue twice now
frank zeches omg same here
God a 6 hour episode. That's when you know shit's going down to the 9th hell.
Critical role got me to dm my very first dnd campaign and I love it, the cast and characters are so relatable, I love critical role not just because it is fun and entretaining but also because it inspires people to keep on fighting the good fight to live and create
All the content from this channel has been so helpful, this year especially.
Critical Role is not only a wealth of inspiration for me as a D&D player and dm. It's a great escape to enjoy a world where powerful things can happen and people can have so much fun doing something so simple. (I know you work very hard Matt and it's not simple, but I appreciate it.)
I'm new just found critical role and I can't stop watching it ..i love it so much ! this video made me cry so beautiful !
I don't know where I'd be without you all.
that was beautiful. i am in rough patch of my life and Critical Role and D&D helps me. for all of that i thank you and everyone in community.
So much love for this show. Thank you for all you've done for so many people
I just want to hug each and every Critter right now.
CR means enjoying friendship all alone!
When you are having a crappy week critical role gives you something to smile about!
Love these guys love the community
these are awesome! and why i love d&d and other table top rpgs .
(seriously how do you explain the apeal of D&D)
Now for the actually showpart.
Hey! It's this video again! Thank you guys for putting my clip in. It means a lot!
4:41 this one hits hard. The honesty is raw and calm.
Because of CR, my family has gotten bigger. I love you guys
Keep up the awesome work! Best Regards from Croatia and Ireland!
This was incredible to watch. Thank you Critical Role, and keep it up.
This is the best community on the internet, there's hope for humanity.
Cheers! :D
This is my timestamp - 1:43 - here is the full text of what I said:
> You know me as @Dasbif on Twitter, Twitch, UA-cam, and reddit.

Brilliant work by Eddie cutting and editing the fan video, by the way.
Awe man! Awesome stuff! I kinda wish I submitted something. Maybe next time. :)
it makes me happy, and its the only thing that makes me excited any more
While I'm disappointed my submission wasn't included, I'm truly proud to be a part of this community of Critters. You're all amazing!
love critical role and the fans , I will say if I had never found roleplaying 22 years ago I wouldn't be typing this. much love to all of you guys.
I actually just got a critical role tatoo I wont post any spoilers but it's some of the last words in the show and something that becomes iconic to the character ❤
