aha i mean its true lol My friends are new to the game as well and they get way to emotional, angry, happy, excited, nervous it all effects their gameplay xD
Joel Figueredo My cousin does this because he thinks it'll be hard to attack him. The creator of the video is right saying jumping too much leaves an opening. It's really annoying for your opponent to jump constantly but it easily leaves them open for attack.
Noot fr....Might lose myself but the EXP. I gain from fighting a God Tier competitor will be massive. Smokin' casuals all day in rank. I think SonicFox be runnin' around it sometimes.
Wow. Actual helpful information. Thanks man, my girlfriend bought it for me last week and I've been sucking at combos and getting very angry. But not mashing and jumping helps. It seems obvious but I didn't realize all the nooby things I did that kept me from winning those harder difficulties and multi verses. Thanks and keep it up
I always am in training and say for example Im doing a combo like "square, square, square, triangle." those are hard for me sometimes because I will press square more thn three times and then press triangle but the combo wont work since I pressed square more than three times. its honestly really annoying.
#4 is the primary reason why they implemented character levels. It's to insentivise you to master a single character. I still don't like it, but it is effective.
Level 52 Robin and Supergirl user....Still guilty of jumping and sucking at blocking. xDDDD Doing my best in practice to get better at blocking. I feel practicing blocking against the Hard and Hardest AI difficulty helps out.
DJ GANG You legit commented on a nigh 3 year old post telling me that you can’t level up to 52, then you call me a scrub and say you’re at LVL 75, LITERALLY CONTRADICTING YOUR FUCKING REASON FOR REPLYING TO ME!!!! FUCKING. DUMB!!!
When I started playing the game, I immediately tried to fight AIs in Very hard(no joke). And that's why I always win when I'm playing with my cousins. The Very hard AI's pressure strategy built my blocking and punishing habits.
It's good to play on very hard to get good against CPU but not real players because on very hard the CPU will block all your hits that a person could never do. I would say hard is the best to practice

MasterEvolution that more fits in a video of improving your skills in injustice 2. I wouldn't make sense to add it here if it's all about common mistakes
I play in Injustice 2 Pro Series, why am I here? Lol Serious note, I can't agree more with #4 and #2 There have been many new players I've come across that are trying to learn every character in the game, without actually mastering one character. Decent knowledge of a character is great, but if you aren't practicing enough, you won't be very good And with number 2, sooo many players(sometimes myself included) think that just because they can pull off combos in practice means they are going to do great during a real fight...Wrong. Very nice video, I myself practice with new players to help them get better and I can say this list was pretty spot on! 👏🏻
3rd tip is spot on about the tier list what he’s basically saying is if you use main starfire or Batman you most likely follow the crowd in life and prolly get mistaken for sheep however if you don’t use them 2 characters you are a independent wolf looking for blood
A tip for multiverse that a lot of friends of mine don't know I want to share, due to how good it is for practicing and refining how you play. MadDoggGames Thanks. The only problem is I can't memorize combos. I can try to say forward and back because the directions move but do you have any tips for that?
L8me Squad I never mention nothing about batman or any specific character jump 2. The whole point is not to jump too much, the game is just background and does not mean anything. There visuals
L8me Squad lol right in fact for him it's probably one of the best things to do (when you're playing against a casual) but not when it's someone who knows what they're doing even then you'll eventually get a bullshit cross up that wasn't even intentional so it'll break the opponents guard leave you to a full combo
Yeah, I'm soooo guilty of having done all these 'No Nos' since I'm still new to fighting games, but I recently discovered a few days ago how important it is to not break the #6 rule: meter management. I didn't realize just how important meter was until I got late into matches I could've/should've won, yet I lost them because I didn't have any meter left when I needed it most, while my opponent still had his. Injustice 2 is my very first fighter-ever-which I only picked up about a month ago. I suppose you could say I'm lucky since I've had a very rapid rate of advancement thus far because the two friends who urged me to get this game are very, very good fight game players who've accelerated my rate of progress. I can only imagine how frustrated, bewildered, and discouraged I'd be now if I didn't have anyone to help me navigate the complex density of fighting games, and the complete focus and dedication these types of games require.
Young Dagger you know records don't mean nothing right? I've beaten people that I only had like 5% chance of winning. He had like 900 wins and like 50 losses. It's all about being smart and know your shit.
Killer K9 well yeah sonic fox is a high skill player that can make any character look very good. But here in this case we are talking about Beginners. It is the reason why I said not to follow tier list because it depends of the person skill, experience and person playstyle.
Killer K9 I also agree with you, that is why I said don't follow tier list. Captain Cold was considered to be a low tier character but sonic fox was able to change that viewpoint
I just got into fighting game😅 bought injustice 2 and its damn hard😢. Don't know how to block 😭. Nearly gave up but then i realise i m a good CS players but i didn't got there in 1 day it took me 14 years to master it so now i m watching your videos 😊
Other common mistakes that I used to make or am still fixing 1. Standing still in right in front of opponent 2. Standing still for too long 3. Not moving myself to an advantage position 4. Assuming the fight is over just because my opponent is an entire health bar or so ahead of me 5. Forgetting that my finishing move needs to be unleashed when there is no way my opponent can block it 6. Trying to use moves or combos that I'm simply not familiar with 7. Not continually searching for a way to keep my opponent from attacking me 8. Assuming I can just cruise my play on autopilot because I am an entire health bar or so ahead of my opponent and assume I'm going to win because of it
Well I really like the blocking mechanic in Mortal Kombat, I don’t have the game, but I’ve played it. The block is so much better than Injustice 2 where you need to go backwards or duck.
Dude I never comment on anything. But had to on yours. Not just dropping game knowledge. But good vibes and believing in rising and getting prepared to be more. Thanks man
I watched your videos and became a pro at MK 11, now level 54. Now I just started playing Injustice 2 and am ready for some fun! I might get a PS3 with Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) soon and play that with my friends. I feel like im living backwards lol
As a new player, I'm wondering if there are any tips or tricks for learning how to anticipate your opponents moves? This is the thing I have the hardest time with as a new player because I am still learning the controls beyond the most rudimentary levels(I am also on PC, which makes some of the blocking and important timing of certain actions a bit more difficult than with a controller, imo), and so I am finding that it is all alot to keep track of at once. I understand that skills of that nature are mostly accrued through time and practice, but it would be nice to have a few pointers on the brain while I am learning the game.
This is the reason I hate fighting games. They feel way too overly complicated. When I play a video game, I expect a fun, calm experience, not something so frustrating and stressful. My daily life is stressful enough. I don't want (or have the time) to spend WEEKS practicing a single character just so I can play decently. I feel like I wasted my money on this, but then again it's my own fault because I've never enjoyed a fighting game and I should've known. I just thought this one would be different, but I guess not. TL;DR - I don't like fighting games because they're too complicated.
I am sorry that you are stressed when playing fighting games. Fighting game naturally is a competitive genre. Its like learning how to Wrestle, or play football. Its hard to avoid the skills and talent needed to play these sports. The way you eliminate stress in fighting game is to be ready for anything and everything. But even for long term PROS, there is still the stress of wanting to win. Its not something you get a hang on in days. Depending on what character you choose can play a HUGE role on how your learning experience can be. Would you mind sharing what character you decided to learn? And the playstyle you prefer? Ive been playing fighting games since Mortal combat 9 and the reason why I loved it is because of that stress. The rush and the constant heart beating for winning a match. Especially since I practiced strategies over and over to see if it succeeds.
I just play a lot of other fighting games, and that's how I get gud from experience. I feel like I still need more experience with injustice 2 even tho I played it for about 2 months.
I bought this game on sale black Friday after having it on mobile for a while and enjoying it, I was excited to get it whenever it went on sale. Only to find out I absolutely suck at this game. It's not like any fighting game I've ever played, everything feels scripted and I really don't like that there's no actual button for blocking. The tutorial is tedious and I'm even having a hard time on the story mode. Everything goes fine when I practice but I can't remember anything when it matters, especially with this "dial a combo" system. It's not fun having to put hours of practice into a game just to be somewhat good and enjoy it. I'd probably never go online in this game and might even just end up selling it or trading it lol. I was so amped for this game and it gives me nothing but aggravation. Your video was very informal though and hopefully can help me some.
You must be new to fighting games or specifically to NetherRealm titles. I'll tell you this, learning a new fighting game does not take couple of days to learn. It can actually takes weeks to learn since you are jumping into a complex genre. But have no fear! There are many ways to learn the game mechanics and fundamentals. NetherRealm fighting game is a later input fighting game, meaning that you will have to input your combos first before it registers. Street Fighter is different and they do their game as direct fast input, meaning once you press it, it registers the moment you press it. When I learned Street Fighter for the first time, it was hard, because I never played the game before, but it all takes time. Here is a tip, to learn the mechanics very well, one must understand and build muscle memory. (Repeat the same move for like 10+ times to understand the timing and for your muscles not to forget that input). Its completely normal to forget what you learn because of performance anxiety. If that is the case its very important to take a step back and review everything you learn. What will make it easier is to pick up characters that are very simple to use. There are characters in this game that will help you understand the mechanics, fundamental and play styles. Believe it or not, Injustice 2 as a fighting game is one of the easiest game out there. Mortal Kombat in the other hard is very complex due to the deep mechanic system.
MadDoggGames I appreciate your reply man. I think part of my biggest problem was getting the game and thinking I'd be able to just jump right into it as I'm able to do with many others. The mechanics are strange to get used to and I can already see it will take a while to get good at combos, let alone know how and when to chain them. Definitely understandable how it can take weeks or longer to develop the right skills, I just didn't know all that going in.
My Raiden is my beginner helper. He’s my main and once I hit 20, I got his static traps. Knock me back, that’s a static trap. After, I go up close, kombo, then put my second trap. 90% of the time they get hit. I then get my 38-41% kombo. I’ve played players who are really good but fall for the traps. I realized I was becoming a spammer so now I use it when I knock down opponents or just to end kombos. I love his static traps, but I feel like it’s making me become the one thing I swore to destroy.
Ahh yes if only i started playing the game when there were lots of players I started it now and get reckt by people who have been playing it for 2years Its impossible to match their experience no matter what i do
I button mash because my hands are too small to press forward backward or backward forward in quick succession so I have to put my hand in a different position where my fingers are only on those 2 arrows on the d pad and smash bf/fb as quickly as possible to do a special move with those buttons
No one will probably see this but how do you not get mad when you lose. It is always play for the competition and not winning. That sucks when you cannot even touch your controller because nothing you do works against anyone.
For me the number one mistake is being a robin main from day one, and some how receiving every ability besides the staff. Lol i know this ain’t a mistake but it’s gotten to the point where i feel like i should play another character.
I doubt anyone will see this. Or care. However, I need to complain and vent to, well, *someone*. I'm 40 years old. If you think that doesn't matter, I promise you, it does. I no longer have the spastic-rabbit reflexes of a hormonal teenager jacked on caffiene and angst. So, competitive...no. Not interested, on account of my pride. You guys have fun, somehow, impossibly, analyzing individual frames by sight alone in real time and reacting with strings of precision button-pressing. I'll be playing against the computer...that appears to be able to read my thoughts. The real heart of this post is quite simply this; I have been playing video games since about age 10. 30 years. I want to fall in love with this game, but I can't. Because it's unplayable. I simply cannot fathom the hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and acute visual acuity that this game seems to demand from its players. Medium AI is punishingly brutal. Medium. Spending time in the tutorial practice runs, was able to do the first four no problem but the advanced offense... there's just simply no way to input those strings as fast as the game wants them. Blocking does not work. It appears that to block properly, that is to actually block an attack, you must match the opponent's attack at the precise moment that it is about to land...a frame away... press the back button with impeccable timing, and repeat that seven or eight times during the course of their overhead, low, mid mid low, overhead, jump grab, hit hit hit grab an alligator and smash you with it, low low low, mid overhead -meter burn- ultimate, finished. Meanwhile, during that. I'm steady just holding the back button. Pressing the back button. Pressing the down button. Holding the down button. frantically pressing back and down back and down down back down down back. All unblockable, all successful, fluid, angry, impressive flurry of embarrassment. Over. And over. So which is it? Git Gud, find the Fountain of Youth, or is there something I'm missing? IS this game for hyperactive try-hards or can I eventually expect to hold my own against the fucking medium bots without requiring cybernetics?
@@Aot I have not given up! Also, I discovered that within the game is a "hidden game" that scratches a particular, special Diablo-itch. AI multiverse is where it's at!
@@johnswanger8474EXACTLY!! AI Multiverse is great fun, sometimes still tough but I do good for myself. I've started to use Poison Ivy only and I'm doing better than when I used multiple characters. Good luck on your journey.
John Swanger dude I'm 40yrs old with an 8yr old we have a PS3 with Injustice I'm getting him a PS4 in Aug for his bday and we both really want this game bc we have so much fun woth the first. I've come to realize I get to a certain skill level with about 5 characters and that's it. I guess my question is how disappointed am I gonna be? In gonna buy the original for backup after reading your comment
@@johnswanger8474 You're the only person here I can relate too. I'm 14 years old, and I still can't play this damn game. I've never liked fighting games but I love DC, and I played the first game which was decent. I gave up within my first 45 minutes of playing this one. I refuse to spend weeks just to play a single character. I just can't enjoy this game...
Tbh I just play multiverse because everybody online just slams buttons and keep you at corners it’s just annoying how do not give people a chance to fight back
Ah I see you're still in the new-moderate mindset, using a super instead of a combo is confirmed damage, vs a combo which can he canceled or dropped, so it is useful to use a super in some situations
@Rhys Tuala I main Batman but can only remember a few combos so I just keep doing: square, square, triangle Down, Back, Square Down, Forward, Square Circle Grab Environment Interaction Supermove I do it very fast so it looks like I button mash. It's kinda funny though so it's ok.
I played the prior game and started this game recently but my issue i believe is I don't learn others may take me a bit longer just having difficulty with timing in the tutorials
I like your perspective. Curious about your opinion - are there any such things as cheap tactics in winning? For example. Wonder Woman's basic teleport low special. Easily countered simply by ducking. If it keeps working, is it immoral to use it? Or should you "feel bad for the sake of competition" or something that your opponent can't figure out when to duck?
I started yesterday and I’m lvl 9 Batman I just can’t remember any combos and evertime I try to play an online match my opponent just traps me in a corner and uses the same 2 moves all over again and I can’t break out of it It’s so annoying
Go into practice mode and find combo strings that work for you and practice it, it will become muscle memory eventually and then you'll just string stuff together.
#8: Jumping Me: My controller is really messed up and makes me jump for no reason. Now I know for a fact that I’m screwed. Oh wait... I have $360. I could just buy a new one. Yes I have $360, I’m not kidding.
8. Jumping too much 7. Button mashing 6. Not managing their meter well 5. Not blocking 4. Trying to learn multiple characters too fast 3. Following top tier lists 2. Learning combos only in practice mode 1. Giving up

It's hard not to button mash I need to stop
It took me a long time to get rid of it, but practice helps everyday
only reason people button mash is cause they dont know combos
and because people get emotional, angry, nervous, excited, it can all be effecting your gameplay which also can cause button mashing.
MadDoggGames i dont button smash but sometimes when i try to do a specialmove it doesnt work i dont know why
I button mash out my combos which causes me precision. I've been playing fighting games seriously since MK9 so I'm not a scrub but it's a bad habit lol. For some reason I drop combos a lot more when I wait to press the buttons at the right time.

Im a mk player, Im used to blocking with my bumper
Pre Vizsla same
You can change it in settings (controller configuration)
Pre Vizsla same. I don’t know why they didn’t do the bumper block. That’s honestly a lot better in my opinion

MadDoggGames thanks for all the good points. I do a lot of those and will work on getting better
Common mistake is
mashing buttons
I already have that in the video. Button mashing is a common mistake made by beginners
MadDoggGames this video helped me so much that i came from 7/20 to 29/21. You just got your self a sub bro.
MadDoggGames I absolutely agree with your ideas. Because I've watched many injustice 2 gameplay and they did the same thing.
One complaint I have are players only using one strategy or one combo constantly. It's important to know what to do in close combat or farther away.
Wow that is another mistake I should have mentioned, maybe in another video thanks!
I haven't played a fighting game since Tekken 6. I'm going to get Injustice 2 and try to learn Scarecrow.
Very nice choice!
MadDoggGames Thanks. The only problem is I can't memorize combos. I can try to say forward and back because the directions move but do you have any tips for that?
I loved Tekken Tag on the original PS "back in the day" lol there was the one guy who button mashed Eddie the Brazillian style low attacking bastard😁
Batman jump 2 is not risky at all lol 😂
L8me Squad if you play someone that actually knows what they're doing it is definitely risky. If you're just playing casuals online than it ain't.
L8me Squad I never mention nothing about batman or any specific character jump 2. The whole point is not to jump too much, the game is just background and does not mean anything. There visuals
L8me Squad Mostly true, Batman cab do some stuff that's makes it safe eveb without trait.

L8me Squad lol right in fact for him it's probably one of the best things to do (when you're playing against a casual) but not when it's someone who knows what they're doing even then you'll eventually get a bullshit cross up that wasn't even intentional so it'll break the opponents guard leave you to a full combo
4:26 yeah right now I’m working on Batman, green lantern, and flash
i only use one character lol, robin
I mained blue beetle when I first played the game but now with a bit of practice time, I’m officially a green lantern main.
Good video i wasn't into fighting games like that but now im really into the mk and injustice franchise
i just started playing fighting games this year and i'd never thought i'd be good my online record is now 167-43
Young Dagger you know records don't mean nothing right? I've beaten people that I only had like 5% chance of winning. He had like 900 wins and like 50 losses. It's all about being smart and know your shit.
Young Dagger My record is 4000-1000 I forgot the numbers in between lmao, I'm also a Grodd main which surprises most people 😂
Y'all remember when people were bitching about how captain cold sucks? Sonicfox didn't think so...
We are not even talking about captain cold
No I said that when u mentioned #2 reason, the whole thing about tiers
MadDoggGames #3 I mean
If there a playlist please tag it for me
I love your channel and these videos that help the fundamentals of fighting in Injustice 2, thanks man
Finally someone who helps out the noobs
Thanks. I just realized i suck because im mashing buttons faster than lightspeed.
Other common mistakes that I used to make or am still fixing
1. Standing still in right in front of opponent
2. Standing still for too long
3. Not moving myself to an advantage position
4. Assuming the fight is over just because my opponent is an entire health bar or so ahead of me
5. Forgetting that my finishing move needs to be unleashed when there is no way my opponent can block it
6. Trying to use moves or combos that I'm simply not familiar with
7. Not continually searching for a way to keep my opponent from attacking me
8. Assuming I can just cruise my play on autopilot because I am an entire health bar or so ahead of my opponent and assume I'm going to win because of it
Best video explaination I've seen on youtube! Thanks bro!
Thanks man
Idk why I’m watching this but I can tell beginners to watch this
I watched your videos and became a pro at MK 11, now level 54. Now I just started playing Injustice 2 and am ready for some fun! I might get a PS3 with Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) soon and play that with my friends. I feel like im living backwards lol
You're a real one dude. I've been looking at your MK vids to help me out and I see you have Injustice ones as well now too to help me learn 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I'm a beginner, so thanks for the tips!
Thanks bro this put me up on s whole other level
I just play a lot of other fighting games, and that's how I get gud from experience.
I feel like I still need more experience with injustice 2 even tho I played it for about 2 months.
Yes sir 💯
Great video as always
Wilagorn Suarez thanks!
Intro to this video made me forget that this was a UA-cam Video and not an action movie
Thanks mate, needed this😀
Youre welcome., thanks for watching!
Definitely understandable how it can take weeks or longer to develop the right skills, I just didn't know all that going in.
nice, quik, helpful simple video. Thanks. This is gonna help a lot in the long run. Dropped a like :)
Great video man, useful tips.
Thanks for watching :D
My Raiden is my beginner helper. He’s my main and once I hit 20, I got his static traps. Knock me back, that’s a static trap. After, I go up close, kombo, then put my second trap. 90% of the time they get hit. I then get my 38-41% kombo. I’ve played players who are really good but fall for the traps. I realized I was becoming a spammer so now I use it when I knock down opponents or just to end kombos. I love his static traps, but I feel like it’s making me become the one thing I swore to destroy.
Thanks this video really helped me dude!
Awesome glad to hear! :D
This video is amazing! Specially the tip number 1
Awesome vid bro 😊
thanks for watching (:
Ahh yes if only i started playing the game when there were lots of players
I started it now and get reckt by people who have been playing it for 2years
Its impossible to match their experience no matter what i do
The rage quitters makes me so happy hahaha every time !! It just make me smile so bad !!
some people still dont know how to meter burn roll lol
Sometimes its worth it and sometimes its not.
This video really helps me
Really liked the video 👍🏽
awesome thanks!
I'm level 61 and I can't stop button mashing even tho I practice it loads
I button mash because my hands are too small to press forward backward or backward forward in quick succession so I have to put my hand in a different position where my fingers are only on those 2 arrows on the d pad and smash bf/fb as quickly as possible to do a special move with those buttons
I recently just got subzero and hope to main him
I think I’m pretty gud but literally cannot polar puncture (some how)
Pls help
No one will probably see this but how do you not get mad when you lose. It is always play for the competition and not winning. That sucks when you cannot even touch your controller because nothing you do works against anyone.
Your number one mistake was spot on man good job. Play for Love of the Game
Uff 😆 so 3 or 4 of fundamental mistakes, I didn't do it
Thank you
For me the number one mistake is being a robin main from day one, and some how receiving every ability besides the staff. Lol i know this ain’t a mistake but it’s gotten to the point where i feel like i should play another character.
epicness2323 I feel bad robin was one of my last characters I picked up got the staff after trying for a week
I suck too
@@Aot I have not given up!
I just can't enjoy this game...
ty bro! i have a different perspective after watching this game :)
I'm not a new player but I jump too much :( it's hard to stop
Great video man.
What I do to block is continue to use walking back and use combos for Bat man like stay down and use the backward x x y combo for batman
One of them should be using the analog stick to move and preform combos instead of the D-pad
That is an interesting idea, but this is more about in game mechanics than controls, cause some people might have arcade sticks.
Tbh I just play multiverse because everybody online just slams buttons and keep you at corners it’s just annoying how do not give people a chance to fight back
thanksbro u helped me so much i inproved within 2weeks
Ah I see you're still in the new-moderate mindset, using a super instead of a combo is confirmed damage, vs a combo which can he canceled or dropped, so it is useful to use a super in some situations
thing is most beginners just mash super when they get cornered regardless if it's a guaranteed hit or not
@Rhys Tuala I main Batman but can only remember a few combos so I just keep doing:
square, square, triangle
Down, Back, Square
Down, Forward, Square
Circle
Grab
Environment Interaction
Supermove
I do it very fast so it looks like I button mash. It's kinda funny though so it's ok.
I played the prior game and started this game recently but my issue i believe is I don't learn others may take me a bit longer just having difficulty with timing in the tutorials
Use multiverse to practice combos. That's what I do after practice mode
Came from ultra street fight 4 with using a stick. Now I'm 2020 loving this game but man how different a fighting game can be lol
In the interest of improving you should feel bad but if you only care about winning it’s fair game
Good video and good advice
Race On 3 Productions thanks glad you liked it!
I am guilty of failing to block. But everything else I'm okay at.
I just need to stop mashing my buttons when I'm doing a combo but it's too hard to stop lol
Beginner and I'm ashamed but you're right
I dont play Injustice 2, but this Video was informative for me anyway. Really good Job mate - like for u!
No problem, thanks for watching!
this was really helpful cause I want to get good with the flash and this is going to help me
thanks glad you enjoyed it
MadDoggGames the outro music just subbed
MadDoggGames I love it
Keep up the vids !!
#4 I think I'm good I have the basic knowledge on most of the characters and know the fundamentals about the game :D
nice...trying to improve at ij2.
also I feel like most beginners just get lucky duck everything and just upper cut.
that's why overheads/teleports/chip damage exist.
They keeeeep jumping, I swear it is so easy to beat all my enemies because he they just won't stop jumping
So far I’m focusing on sub-zero and black manta and just for a third red hood
I feel like I’m best using those my sub zero is already level 30
#8: Jumping
Me: My controller is really messed up and makes me jump for no reason. Now I know for a fact that I’m screwed. Oh wait... I have $360. I could just buy a new one. Yes I have $360, I’m not kidding.
obviously you’re about 12
8. Jumping too much
7. Button mashing
6. Not managing their meter well
5. Not blocking
4. Trying to learn multiple characters too fast
3. Following top tier lists
2. Learning combos only in practice mode
1. Giving up
Why did he say finally when he got to number 6 even though he had 6 more to go 😂
