Had 1st run in hyperion 2 earlier . 1st brooks shoe. Fun run foam felt great, i think would be very versatile.
How would you compare it to say the rebel v4?
Good news
Hyperion 2 (non-Max) is an underrated shoe in my opinion. Ghost Max 1 or 2 + Hyperion 2 = solid rotation. Haven’t been wanting to run in any plated shoes lately but the Hyp2Max I would have no doubt is a solid shoe after the other Brooks releases this year. My 2 cents.
I love the comedic bit of this channel 😂
thank you I am glad you realise we don't take things very seriously
@@FordyRuns yes, that's the best way to enjoy life
@@FordyRuns You're the nuts Fordy! :)
I also love the "quick and dirty", subjective and informative, take it with a grain of salt reviews! :)
If i wand real in depth for model, i watch something elso after Fordy in addition.
Fordy has one of my very few subscriptions!
Great comic inserts Chris and a really helpful clarity. Firm foam… is it up to scratch vs ASICS, Puma, Saucony.. that is the bit I’m still unconvinced on..?
I did my first run in the Hyperion 2 last night. I didn't find it firm at all. It was responsive, had a degree of bounce and was very well cushioned. I only ran 10km, but could easily have gone longer. It is far softer than the original Hyperion Max which I put 450km on. I ran a mix of paces with KMs ranging from 3:50 to 5:00. The only issue I had was that my foot felt like it was riding the medial side of the shoe, almost overhanging the platform. I didn't get any pain from it, but it was noticeable throughout the run. Even walking it the shoe, my foot does not seem to want to sit in the middle of the platform. The lockdown is great and I could really lock in my heel, but even then I felt like I was sitting on the inside edge of the shoe. Hopefully with a few more runs the upper will sort itself out. Overall though, it felt like a really fun shoe. It is similar in stats to the original Hyperion Max, but the ride is quite different. It is noticeably softer and less stable, but at the same time more responsive and more enjoyable to pick up the pace in (after one run).
I enjoy lightweight trainers for my normal 4-10 miles. I liked the Hyperion Max (a bit firm) and currently enjoying the Adizero SL2. I'm currently weighing pairing the SL2 with the Hyperion 2 or Noosa Tri 16. Both seem good with great geometry. Thanks.
sweet line up
@@FordyRuns Is the Hyperion 2 basically the Hyperion Max (version 1)? Or is the old Max softer?
Still loving the max 1. Will try the max 2 after I run through my stock of Endo speed 3s. Cheers from Indonesia.
Totally agree that the current Hyperion line is the best Brooks has come out in years. The Hyperion 2 is the successor to the Hyperion Max. It is 5-10% softer and much snappier. They’ve nailed it.
I used to love Brooks shoes. Had Ghost 6 through to Ghost 12, then something changed and I couldn't get on with the 13 and switched to Saucony after a visit to a local running shoe shop, where I tried about 15 different models and makes. Since then, I have had mostly Saucony shoes, although I could possibly think of giving Brooks another go. However I just got the Speed 4s, which are let down by the laces - where can I get me laces like the Brooks ones? They look similar to the Saucony trail shoe laces.
The brooks laces are the best
Is the hyperion 2 good for track repeats, hill sprints and fartleks? i was thinking also about the sl 2
(i wanted something unplated)
it is
Great info, i need to choose ghost max or hyperion max 2, seen both videos but not sure which is better for me, i want a good response fast show but don't want to lose the comfort, i use boston 12 for speed and 10k but just don't fit too good
Make a video of hyperion max v2 vs Saucony Endorphin Speed 4
Ok
I've only put 2 runs on the hype max 2 but I'd say it's more like the speed 3 than the speed 4
Max 2 is like the Boston 12 in firmness, but is it about the same in responsiveness?
yep
Any reason to have the Max 2 if I already have the SuperBlast 2?
Not really unless marathon training
Nice video. What shoes do run marathons in?
I’ve done a lot of videos on the channel about this ua-cam.com/video/_4OtaPX-IZ8/v-deo.htmlsi=0VMnDy0Tg56SO3IG
Not a Hyperion shoe, but the Brooks Catamount Agil is a terrific trail shoe with a DNA Flash midsole, a great, sleek upper, and amazing laces. It also looks fierce as f***. 😂
Good morning. Now, I have the Brooks Ghost Max 1. I had the Brooks ricochet v3 and the Brooks levitate 6 ( the best but no more version, is dead). My vote goes to hyperion 2. Like to Fordy. Have a great day.
Thank you
Fuck it, used your code and purchased a pair😂
Looking at replacing my Novablast 3 are the Hyperion range a good substitute or do I go novablast 4?
Hyperion Max 2 works well but it’s firmer than NB fyi
@@FordyRuns thanks, I’ve managed to pick up a pair of SL2 for £80 so decided to give them a try! Longtime ASICS fan so stepped into unknown
Good vid 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Yea brooks is quietly making a come back
Spot on
I was a big fan of the Hyperion Tempos although they were a little bit narrow. How do these new ones compare to them?
Great toe box
Hyperion max 2 is tied at the top with the boston 12 imo
Is the Hyperion Max 2 good enough for marathon training in terms of longer runs 15-20 miles? or to firm? I currently have the boston 12 which I love but are coming to their end of life and was going to get another pair but also considering the Hyperion Max 2.
yep HM2 is the perfect replacement but bed them in
When do they go on sale in the UK?
@@JotaRomero15 1st August
I might try them. My friends say they are the nerd shoe of the running world :(
Hyperion 2 vs Adios 8 for track workout, which do u think is faster?
I don’t do many track workouts I’m afraid so hard for me to give you my opinion
In this video

Brooks - just like Nike - is miles behind Hoka, Asics, New Balance or Puma.
