Bringers of Flame is probably the most viable due to some radical points increases for units that didn't really warrant them for other detachments. Repentia in particular going from 55 to 90 points for 5 is not at all appropriate for the buffs they got, they are better but not 7pts/model better. Mortifiers and Penitent Engines also took big bumps at +15/+20 each and they are essentially unchanged the mortifiers are slightly nerfed losing speed for their increased save so that hurts The Penitent Host detachment. Similarly Zephrim going from 60 to 90 is going to hurt the Army of Faith detachment and all Zephrim got was lethal hits or sustained hits 1 in melee (or discard a miracle dice for both) and lost +1S on the charge. Seraphim going from 70 to 85 hurts too but at least Seraphim were performing well enough that +3 points per Seraphim is still worth it. Also for some reason, and to the great benefit of Bringers of Flame, Dominions cost the same as a BSS. 4 special weapons instead of 1 heavy and 1 special can be split by immolators in the same way and generate miracle dice exactly as well as BSS do but with a cheeky little fall back D6" rule should an enemy move within 9" of them allowing you to possibly evade a charge then advance back in for another round of shooting. Even Storm Bolters look strong on Dominions in this ruleset. Assault 4 shots at S5, AP0, D2 is already decent, then add in immolator and castigator support, and you have 4 shots, BS3+, S5, AP -1, D2. That's like having a squad equipped with 4 heavy bolters IF those heavy bolters had assault, could assault and benefit from heavy in the same phase, and rapid fire 1... Plus they have scout 6" ability which they confer to any transport they're in as well as to a character that joins them in a transport. All in exchange for sticky objectives... GW is going to have to explain this one to me.
The actual SM factions are the divergent chapters. Base codex is just a unit list for them lolsob Only upside I see is how it exposes the disparity even more clearly compared to when chapters stayed in their lane.
I could be incorrect but list building that null maiden vigil list is currently over 2000 pts and I’ve checked multiple times to see if my list matches his.
I want to know how people are using swarmlord without tyrant guard... feels like he's too squishy for the cost without them, but they don't quite feel worth their cost either, and I'm not sure how to square that lol
The Swarmlord in this list is just one part of a major whole. The list centers around forcing battleshock tests using Neurolictors (and Deathleaper) and monsters, and using various monsters to get into melee and get higher strength via synapse (which Swarmlord and Neurotyrant can help with) and also deep striking mawlocs to spam mortal wounds and maybe force more battleshock tests so the enemies are debilitated and the tyranids are stronger. Also spamming Lascannon shots via Neurotyrant leading Zoanthropes and Exocrines whittling down key units from 50 miles away.
They really need to make C'tans a 'one per army' type of unit. Its getting ridiculous now how every single cron list involves 4 C'tans in some way. Internal balance probably doesn't help but its just silly
Once per army maybe too hard, I prefer up to battle size (1 for 1000, 2 for 2000, etc) 😗 C'tan did nothing wrong, people who push them into this place did this🤦🏻♂️
@@The_Penguin_8964 It's the nature of competitive gaming, sadly. I can't imagine just pulling up with that kind of list to play a casual game unless you and your opponent agree it'll be that kind of game. On the other hand, feels bad when this is what a good chunk of a faction's competitive list looks like.
Pretty sure Rubric Marines CAN'T get the renegade raiders bonuses? They don't share the faction keyword and they can't neither use the Rhinos, still a nice support (especially as reservs) but interesting as strong as it sounds.
When you add them they replace Thousand Sons keyword and gain Heretic Astartes keyword - its called the Cults of the Dark Gods rule ands is listed in the army rules
Can a dialogus join dominions if they already have a palatine? I thought it was literally only battle sisters squads (the battle line ones) you could double join?
Wish my faction had a tournament winning list. Wish my faction had a list that performed even remotely average. I guess GW decided that if I go to an event I deserve to lose...
Got a bone to pick with Ruban Zao. Dude ran Blood Angels and said he was playing White Scars at an event for ITC points. Last I checked , if ya run a unit with the "Blood Angels" keyword .... ya playing Blood Angels. TO at that event should be slapped. Wonder what he ran his Grey Knights as .... Orks ? lol.
Hahahha I’m just trying to get more white scars representation out there so GW tossed us a bone. I’m pretty sure I didn’t say it was for ITC points on white scars tho!
@@rubenzhao5057 I mean , playing Blood Angels and calling them White Scars is representing Blood Angels because you're using Blood Angels Units. Wait, how does someone go 6-0 and only take second place? I’ve never been involved with a tournament, but don’t the unbeaten players face one another and the person who wins their match wins first place?
I played chess tournaments as a younger adult, it isnt how many people you beat, but who you beat. If I go 3-3, but my 3 losses were to the 3 top players, then I would rank highest in the 3-3 ranks. If I go 6-0 but all my wins are against low 1-5 or 2-4 players, I will be less accomplished than the 6-0 guy who beat 3-3's and 4-2's. Sort of like two people fighting seperate bosses, one guy fights the endgame boss and the other fights the first boss of the game. Very different.
You can win but lose on points. Each game has a point total and you can win all but if your games total points are lower, then you’ll place lower in the winner bracket.
and you aren't going to again. Despite a 46% win rate and no Major wins for months, GW still decided to make a unit of 10 Warp Spiders cost more than a fucking C'Tan.
Dark Angels got way better than a few months/weeks ago. I played a inner circle-list at a casual turnament with friends and went 3-1 with it. sure, not comparable to the GTs or anything, but still, its not like my friends dont like to win, even if it is a little more casual. Azrael is a powerhouse 100% of the time, the Deathwing Kinghts fill their roll very well, inner circle companions can achieve quite a lot now and the lion walking through ruins for 300p. is a mad improvement over the 380p mess he used to be.
They can because of the Cults of the Dark Gods rule. They and the other cult marines, (Khorne Berzerkers, Noise Marines and Plague Marines,) replace their Faction keywords with Heretic Astartes.
The only downside is they cannot use Dark Pacts, as they don’t have that ability nor do they gain it. They are still very worth using in many situations though!
@@Redcoat98 I play against templars a lot. Grimaldus is really good in a block of crusaders but you want the helbrecht combo with brethren. Lethals on 5s rerolling with oom and plus 1 damage on his weapons just kills absolutely anything in the game. The mortals at the start of the fight phase help as well and you still have the whole brethren squad. They don't really need the 5+ fnp either cuz they are in a land raider
Hey spamming our best units is the quickest option we have to get to bottom tier and get buffed so we don’t have to rely on one golden unit type 😂 Knew this was gonna happen the moment they nerfed our reanimation and battle line. Plus seeing how limiting some of our detachments are.
@@TheSkinBlog5270 but I thought Necrons is a shooting-based faction with quite a lots of good shooters (Heavy Destroyer, Monolith, Doomsday Ark...)🤔so why...?
@@The_Penguin_8964 better terrain, better movement abilities and excessive use of “smoke” works well against necron shooty lists, 4s to hit when you only have 3-4 shots from destroyers or monolith is rough 😂 plus doomsday ark is a casino cannon. Plus bar the doomsday ark and heavy destroyer all necron shooting is 24” or less making it easy to tie up our units with melee units. As we have lost like 8 units to legendary including our only fight first character it makes it difficult to bring necron warriors who since the index never survive enough or deal enough damage to make up for their points let alone all the supporting units you have to bring with them. 90% of necron players bring immortals if they bring any battleline. Plus we can only fall back and shoot with -1 ap battleline weapons unless you want to spend 175 points to give an extra ap that gets ignored by cover 😂 I like playing more melee lists for necrons these days because of this Especially as our only reaction counter strats in canoptekh court were nerfed. I play against a lot of competitive lists so I’m used to people knowing exactly how to use their faction perfectly.
@@TheSkinBlog5270 Um, Heavy Destroyer, Monolith and Doomsday Ark are 3+ to hit and all are above 24" range, not to mention they can almost move wherever they want in Hypercrypt Legion😗just saying🤦🏻♂️ Agree about the battleline is too high cost (10/warrior is just insane🤦🏻♂️) and sorry for the melee detechment is just...ugh🤦🏻♂️but it doesn't mean that Necrons has to be like that, a faction which can shoot+tank+doing mission become like this is just...why🤦🏻♂️
@@The_Penguin_8964 yes they’re 3+ to hit but most vehicle armies have smoke which has lost me the game more than once 😂 had a landraider on 1 wound vs my monolith with 10 wounds. He popped smoke and all 4 death rays rolled up as 3s 😂 Yeah our specific detachments just aren’t good. That’s why hypercrypt and awakened dynasty are our best as they aren’t limiting. They need to do 2 things to c’tan 1. Increase their points in exchange for 2+ armour 2. Cut them to 1 per army That way they don’t die to a flamer or blast unit with +1 to wound in 1 round of shooting 🙄 the amount of times that’s happened is crazy 😂 And yeah we can’t be everything but what necrons should be is mostly battleline with support. Same as Tyranids or ork hoards. But you are never going to see a silver tide necron army if they keep them like this 😂
For most people here harping on the C'tan... how many of you *actually* run into anyone running more than one? Honestly? It's clearly a meme list that wanted to throw as many C'tan onto the table as possible (which even with the new deployments is quite the feat with the Vault), but when the Silent King rolls up with 2-3 Monoliths everything is somehow gucci? Not to mention he only had 12 units on the table altogether and racked up a 6-0 result.
I know in my area (Northern California) there have been three different people, at three different events play a vatient of that C'tan list that I've played at. They might swap out the Vault for a Monolith or something but it's very much a bit more than a meme list.

Chaos marines are so boring now it’s just spamming rhinos and chaos lords. Legionaries rules are so absurdly busted that they have to nerf raptors just so they aren’t cheaper than them It all stems from dark pacts being too powerful of an army rule. 9th CSM was somehow cooler

Only upside I see is how it exposes the disparity even more clearly compared to when chapters stayed in their lane.
I could be incorrect but list building that null maiden vigil list is currently over 2000 pts and I’ve checked multiple times to see if my list matches his.
No it’s at 2k. I did it as well
I want to know how people are using swarmlord without tyrant guard... feels like he's too squishy for the cost without them, but they don't quite feel worth their cost either, and I'm not sure how to square that lol
God I despise no skill stat check Ctan spam.
They really need to make C'tans a 'one per army' type of unit. Its getting ridiculous now how every single cron list involves 4 C'tans in some way. Internal balance probably doesn't help but its just silly
Once per army maybe too hard, I prefer up to battle size (1 for 1000, 2 for 2000, etc) 😗
C'tan did nothing wrong, people who push them into this place did this🤦🏻♂️
@@The_Penguin_8964 It's the nature of competitive gaming, sadly. I can't imagine just pulling up with that kind of list to play a casual game unless you and your opponent agree it'll be that kind of game.
On the other hand, feels bad when this is what a good chunk of a faction's competitive list looks like.
@@marauder340 I'll probably just give up if I face four C'tan🤦🏻♂️
But yeah, if GW really take a move to C'tan, Necrons will be in BIG trouble🤦🏻♂️
Agreed. Wouldn’t be so bad if they were costed appropriately but remember how necrons weren’t touched for ages even when clearly broken
Pretty sure Rubric Marines CAN'T get the renegade raiders bonuses?
They don't share the faction keyword and they can't neither use the Rhinos, still a nice support (especially as reservs) but interesting as strong as it sounds.
Rubric Marines have the "Thousand Sons" Keyword, not the "Heretic Astartes" one, witch you need for getting Detachment Bonuses.
When you add them they replace Thousand Sons keyword and gain Heretic Astartes keyword - its called the Cults of the Dark Gods rule ands is listed in the army rules
@@jamesharrison7011 wow just discovered a new combo ahaha
Can a dialogus join dominions if they already have a palatine? I thought it was literally only battle sisters squads (the battle line ones) you could double join?
Cute to include Tau with their bottom of acceptable range win rate
Wish my faction had a tournament winning list. Wish my faction had a list that performed even remotely average. I guess GW decided that if I go to an event I deserve to lose...
I wish Moore's list said what enhancements he used and on what. I'm really starting to study up for playing my T'au!
BCP is not showing them, So either he didnt use them or erased them when posting the list
I bad balanced nerf from GW and orks are Gone.... GJ games workshoo
I think that just everyone was all in on bully boys and tide. Give it a month the green machine will be back.
Orks are never beaten 🙌😗
Got a bone to pick with Ruban Zao. Dude ran Blood Angels and said he was playing White Scars at an event for ITC points. Last I checked , if ya run a unit with the "Blood Angels" keyword .... ya playing Blood Angels. TO at that event should be slapped. Wonder what he ran his Grey Knights as .... Orks ? lol.
Was he running"ssons of sanguinius" or "storm lance"? You can run BA units in storm lance, the "white scars l" detachment
Hahahha I’m just trying to get more white scars representation out there so GW tossed us a bone. I’m pretty sure I didn’t say it was for ITC points on white scars tho!
@@rubenzhao5057
You are a bitch for that. Wouldn't last against my Dark Eldar
@@rubenzhao5057 I mean , playing Blood Angels and calling them White Scars is representing Blood Angels because you're using Blood Angels Units. Kinda messes with the Meta because you lower BA's win rate and raise White Scars win rate but your using Blood Angels Units. Its been a very big uphill battle trying to rep true White Scars this Edition and then you pop up and I found your list and its Blood Angels lmao. I was excited to see a big score for White Scars then was like wtf is this lol. Asked a few TO's at events I got to if I could do this because it would make my life easier and they said absolutely not lmao.
@@oXWhiteScarsXo you make a lot of sense. Either way I’ve been running them as BA for some time now haha. I was just hoping if GW saw white scars they might give us some love
I wonder why Renegade is the most played detachment in tournaments...
Cuz its decent and the rest are dogshit
How the heck is C’Tan spam still viable at this point lol. I feel like that’s half the reason heavy AT Ironstorm is so popular.
That's not Grey Knights.
Swarmlord's CP aura is horrible to play against if you don't have an opportunity to kill him early.
Finally tyranids can play in a fun way
Anyone know how Josh Roberts attached the Chaos Lords and what went in Rhinos?
Well got two options there. Chosen or legionaries
Wait, how does someone go 6-0 and only take second place? I’ve never been involved with a tournament, but don’t the unbeaten players face one another and the person who wins their match wins first place?
Math ain't mathing
I played chess tournaments as a younger adult, it isnt how many people you beat, but who you beat.
If I go 3-3, but my 3 losses were to the 3 top players, then I would rank highest in the 3-3 ranks.
If I go 6-0 but all my wins are against low 1-5 or 2-4 players, I will be less accomplished than the 6-0 guy who beat 3-3's and 4-2's.
Sort of like two people fighting seperate bosses, one guy fights the endgame boss and the other fights the first boss of the game. Very different.
You can win but lose on points. Each game has a point total and you can win all but if your games total points are lower, then you’ll place lower in the winner bracket.
no admech? Faced a breacher blob supported by a full invuln line of dunecrawlers and battleline and felt cooked turn 2.
They prolly haven't won a tournament yet is all. It'll happen at some point for sure, especially since we can actually kill things now.
Feels like massively nerfing reinforcement stratagems hugely boosted single powerful models, since it’s harder to tarpit them.
Sorry if I sound dumb but with the Tau player
How can you go 6 wins 0 loses but still come 2nd in the tournament?
It's based on total points scored I'm pretty sure
@@josephpolk9660 oh that makes sense.
Thank you

Sisters of Silence got there? I cant wait to see the li...
(notices that half of the list is custodes vehicles, assassins or a fcking knight*)
To be fair there is only 5/17 units in that army that isn’t specifically sisters of silence, so I’d call that solidly a SoS army.
And two Sisters characters and 7 squads of Sisters, plus 3 Rhinos. Come on, it's not like the Sisters had many units in the Codex to begin with.
Vehicle Pilot: SoS
Assassins: SoS
Knight's Pilot: SoS
This is the power of MAANY~😂
No GT for Mechanicus? 😢
did not see eldar, wierd.
and you aren't going to again. Despite a 46% win rate and no Major wins for months, GW still decided to make a unit of 10 Warp Spiders cost more than a fucking C'Tan.
Let’s go, bacommander
:)
You tease...so thousand sons lists?
Grey knights running the same list for 6 months kinda makes me sad.
I see grey knights I click :p
Big surprise, no Dark Angels as far as the eye can see...
been playing inner circle since the codex came out, and they are much improved and feel better now, also coolade man lion is great fun
Looks like orks dropped off 😢.
Orks will be fine and shift. I am all on the dread mob to be the next big one 🎉
I just tried to make that custodes list and it's 2005 points?
Am I missing something?
I got 2015
Edit: never mind I realized my mistake. I got 2k points. You probably picked the wrong enhancement
just checking, rubrics in the csm list don’t benefit from the detachment rules as they don’t have the heretic astartes keyword right?
They can because of the Cults of the Dark Gods rule. They and the other cult marines, (Khorne Berzerkers, Noise Marines and Plague Marines,) replace their Faction keywords with Heretic Astartes.
@@Tyhaldras ohh crazy stuff. thanks
The only downside is they cannot use Dark Pacts, as they don’t have that ability nor do they gain it. They are still very worth using in many situations though!

i cannot figure out how the leaders are attached for the BT list
probably helbrecht + lieutenant in big brethren squad in land raider. Judiciar goes with 5 man brethren squad, champion goes with the other
Don't worry GW will balance everything out, oh wait.
@@kyleroach-smith1291 grimaldus would also work well over helbrecht
@@Redcoat98 I play against templars a lot. Grimaldus is really good in a block of crusaders but you want the helbrecht combo with brethren. Lethals on 5s rerolling with oom and plus 1 damage on his weapons just kills absolutely anything in the game. The mortals at the start of the fight phase help as well and you still have the whole brethren squad. They don't really need the 5+ fnp either cuz they are in a land raider
The dark Angels and SM in general are still bad! I guess us DA are paying for being disgustingly dominate in 8th/9th
ThaWHAT Null Maiden 🤨
Imagine beeing there before R1 and kinda joking about the list just to sweat bullets in R4/R5 because he is still undefeated 🤣
First spam Waith, now spam C'tan ?
I don't know what to say with Necron 🤷🏻♂️
Hey spamming our best units is the quickest option we have to get to bottom tier and get buffed so we don’t have to rely on one golden unit type 😂
Knew this was gonna happen the moment they nerfed our reanimation and battle line.
Plus we can only fall back and shoot with -1 ap battleline weapons unless you want to spend 175 points to give an extra ap that gets ignored by cover 😂
I like playing more melee lists for necrons these days because of this
Especially as our only reaction counter strats in canoptekh court were nerfed.
I play against a lot of competitive lists so I’m used to people knowing exactly how to use their faction perfectly.
@@TheSkinBlog5270 Um, Heavy Destroyer, Monolith and Doomsday Ark are 3+ to hit and all are above 24" range, not to mention they can almost move wherever they want in Hypercrypt Legion😗just saying🤦🏻♂️
Agree about the battleline is too high cost (10/warrior is just insane🤦🏻♂️) and sorry for the melee detechment is just...ugh🤦🏻♂️but it doesn't mean that Necrons has to be like that, a faction which can shoot+tank+doing mission become like this is just...why🤦🏻♂️
@@The_Penguin_8964 yes they’re 3+ to hit but most vehicle armies have smoke which has lost me the game more than once 😂 had a landraider on 1 wound vs my monolith with 10 wounds. He popped smoke and all 4 death rays rolled up as 3s 😂
Yeah our specific detachments just aren’t good. That’s why hypercrypt and awakened dynasty are our best as they aren’t limiting.
They need to do 2 things to c’tan
1. Increase their points in exchange for 2+ armour
2. Cut them to 1 per army
That way they don’t die to a flamer or blast unit with +1 to wound in 1 round of shooting 🙄 the amount of times that’s happened is crazy 😂
And yeah we can’t be everything but what necrons should be is mostly battleline with support. Same as Tyranids or ork hoards. But you are never going to see a silver tide necron army if they keep them like this 😂
No death guard haha bye bye.
How many tournaments you been to?
@@farimer888 but the thing is were these lists before the recent 'Summer' update, before the 'Spring' update with the initial nerfs, or were they after either update?
not to mention, were these events actual tournaments? or local play at an LGS?

@@SeekerOf7ruth these have been at local GTs, RTTs in Sacramento and the Bay Area as well as BAO since a friend of mine has been running multiple C'tan in such events since the codex released. The latest run of said list was at An RTT not even a week ago.
I find it more impressive to play against Necron players who don't run at least two C'tan.

So sad grey knights are back to lib spam
Chaos marines are so boring now it’s just spamming rhinos and chaos lords. Legionaries rules are so absurdly busted that they have to nerf raptors just so they aren’t cheaper than them
It all stems from dark pacts being too powerful of an army rule. 9th CSM was somehow cooler
Csm are boring AF but legionnaires arent busted. Its the first time in many editions that they are worth taking but people arent spamming them. They are still just marines afterall and there is so much damage 2 in the game
As an Aeldari player, see you guys in 11e. We must apparently pay for six months of being strong. Got to suck for the rest of 10th as penance.
Suck it up. Its clear you are the kind of player who only want to play a faction when its broken. Eldar are still good with every unit getting rerolls. But i think the codex will weaken eldar further like so many other factions codexes in 10th and between that and the crap core rules im out too
