I BOUGHT MY FIRST BRAND NEW BIKE!!! || And It Let Me Down Almost Immediately...

- Sorry for the gap in posting lately, life has been wild! BUT, I finally bit the bullet and made a childhood dream of mine come true: I bought a brand new dirt bike!
A 2024 KTM 300 XC-W.
Before I headed out for my 3rd ride on it with a group of guys (2.5 hrs on it), my bendix gear failed in the parking lot. After a lot of cursing, I figured I would try to salvage the day and just bump start it for the duration of our ride. Shortly into the grass track at the Burma Parking Lot, a rock the size of a fist got lobbed up and hit me directly in the top of the knee, drawing blood and severely bruising my knee cap. Thankfully the local KTM dealer got the bike in and repaired within the same week for no cost under warranty.
So you can look forward to now seeing a 2-stroke on the channel! Not like there are tons of those around or anything... The goal is to start riding more technical terrain and branch out into some hard enduro type riding! Thanks for watching (and reading)!

Same feeling, got the money 💰 and still ended up getting an old xr 😂
I have the exact same bike, I can’t believe KTM hasn’t updated there mapping yet for it. I have an updated map from two stroke performance and it has made the bike run a million times better. Wait till you start fouling plugs, I replaced about 15 in mine before I got the TPS dialed in properly. Don’t forget all those magic sensors that go out as well ccps is a good one to always carry on you. Good luck, I have a noise coming from my transmission that sounds weird as well.
@@ryanstewart1521 oh man! Way to fear monger me over here!!😂
stop crying. deal with it . keep riding and enjoy it.
Ooh, so edgy.
Bendix failure!? That's a weird one, they can wear out but usually with lots of use in hard enduro, lots of starts and somewhere around 200 hours. In tank fuel filter causing issues has been pretty common around here. I've replaced the bushings on my '19 xcw with brass ones and did have a starter failure at 240 hours. No issues with fuel filters on the '19. My '23 xc on the other hand is on its 3rd filter.
@@TeamStruggleBunny yeah definitely a very odd circumstance of just a bad component! I now keep a spare traveling with me! I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.
@@SingletrackShortShit A spare bendix? That has to be such a one off, crazy. Did you get a look at the failed one? I wonder how it failed? The Highland Cycle guy has an issue with his '23 xc bendix, but that was some hours in. Enjoy the bike and here's to many trouble free hours!
@@TeamStruggleBunny I did. It was still intact, but it was failing to protrude when spun. Something internal was bound up. It’s a cheaper thing to have on hand and they are wear items so it will surely come in hand some day!
Damn. Haha funny commentary! I just bought a relic after not riding for 15yr….09 450exc with 30hrs/600ish miles somehow. Wish I could have gotten a new new bike but maybe not. 🤔
@@Wyoutside that’s an incredible amount of hours for an ‘09!!! Great find! This bike is absolutely amazing. Stupid faults and all, I’d buy it 10x over again. Been absolutely loving it! Enjoy the new ride🤘🏻
Nice rig buddy! Definitely messed up your jewjew by putting the first aid kit in the car lol safety third
@@ratherberiding5964 That’s definitely the cause I’m starting to believe more and more!!🤣 Thank you much!
Man I bought a 450L during covid and the whole starter gear sys6ate itself on my first off road ride . 4 months and $1000 in parts later . Now I have a 24 300xc and I guess I'm ordering a spare bending and bushings
@@ADVRally I’m sure it was just bad luck with a component, but I now keep a spare bendix with me as well!😂
@SingletrackShortShit I've seen a few people have issues online. My buddy has a 23 that acts up all the time but still starts.
Where ya ridin at? Looks like PA
@@chrisolarry8848 yup! Burma area of Famous Reading Outdoors
@@SingletrackShortShit oh nice. I got my permit to ride on FRO over the winter. Some good single tracks near the gap. And a few friends found some real fun ones close to the house 👍🏼
@@chrisolarry8848 I’ve only been up to Locust Gap twice but each time was a blast!!
I got my 2024 for 6,500 :)
@@davidbeauvais1364 Damn!! Lucky you!
@@SingletrackShortShit 16 hours on it tho
