yea i used sandpaper but really needed the oil cleaned out with some spray.I was out on a farm and was not properly pre paired for that job. thanks for watching
Had the same problem with a 1995 Eagle Vision. Contacts were burnt cleaned them up with emery cloth and worked long enough for replacement contacts to arrive.
That is what happened here ,Oil sending unit ,[about $20] was leaking and oil got in starter. I cleaned starter and fixed oil leak and all is doing well. Thanks for watching
Cheaper to fix than replace, like another comment, melt some brass rod on the contacts and sand them down. It may take a half day or so,and a few beers, but cheaper that $20 to $25 or so.Thanks for the video, have a great time..
My oil sending unit is leaky too. That ended up being part of the issue with my starter being weak. Power wasn't transferring to the contacts well. Wish I would have thought to look for a vid like yours first!
You done good on your video. I only get the sending units from kubota. Have tried 2 or 3 of them off internet ,that was supposed to fit but not a one of them would screw in.
You can melt some copper soldering wire to thicken your worned contact(s). Hold the contact(s) in a vise, apply uniform heat on both side with a propane torch and build up as needed. File until smooth. It works for me!

Fantastic video! It really helped me understand the solenoid operation.
Glad it helped!
Farmers fix, need it running now, fix it right when UPS delivers rebuild kit. Good job.

I’m going to clean the contacts on my plunger and I think that will fix my problem. Thanks for the vid
My starter on my '87 G4200 won't engage sometime, thanks for showing how to take the starter apart.

Thank-you very much. Now I know where to attach the wire from the external starter solenoid.

Great info on a useful fix.
Make sure and check for power. There should be a fuse link [looks like a little box on wire] real close to the starter on the wire. They also go bad.
Thanks. The parts are ordered

Magic. lol. Just careful
Can anyone post up the part numbers for the repair kit. I just visited NAPa and OReiley and can't find it. Maybe Kubota?
Should be able to match it up , as a lot of those Denso starters take the same one
Its leakin really bad from the oil plug
