You got my Sub!!! I've been collecting cards most of my life and I've been buying & selling on EBay for years now. I'm glad someone finally put out a video aimed towards educating the new people in the hobby. Great video.

Great content. Really enjoyed the video. A few things that were not covered. 1) flipping versus longer term investing, 2) Selling on EBay - know the fees and your break even point, 3) Wait times on grading, 4 ) BGS sub grades 5) buying on instagram/facebook. Maybe topics for card investing 201. Lol. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I haven’t collected cards since the 80s and learning how overwhelming this industry has become. One of the best things I got from this video is to reduce the noise and it took me a while and a fair amount of $ before I had this realization. I love collecting football numbered autos from my favorite team - the Vikings as well as NFL Legends like Namath, Staubach, Tarkenton, etc. Thanks very much for your awesome videos!

I had some “slot machine” luck yesterday…went to Walmart ,they had one blaster of 2021 stadium club left so I bought it. Ripped and hit a case hit redemption for a orange beam team Luis Robert on card auto #’d/5!!! I was pumped already have $450 offer for it…goin to wait till it comes in and send it in to get graded

One if the main reasons the NT Vertical RPA’s are more than the Horizontal is primarily because of grading. When the card it slabbed it will be upright. Most Horizontal cards in general will not sell as high as Verticals in most product.

Buy the hype before the hype starts.Scout your players. Listen to scouts. Learn to watch your players on youtube. Do your technical analysis (the players stats). Watch how good theyre playing in college...minor leagues. If you buy a stock the business must be making money..quarterly reports. If you go off brand go with autos only. Buy during the off season. Alot of collectors loose attention during the offseason.

Great video. I’ve been comparing my investment PSA9 values and they are above the raw card unlike you saying they’re the same value as raw thus a waste of time and money. Psa8 is closer to raw card price in my opinion. Yes You shouldn’t send in cards unless you think they will come back a 10 thus a good investment.

So I collected back from 1969 through the 80’s but now there is so many sets it’s a bit confusing witch set is the best to invest in? I’m interested in buying a football 2020 high end Panini hobby box. You mentioned National Treasures and Select! I don’t see a 2020 for NFL of each of those two? Only collegiate. So which is the best HIGH End now Prizm & immaculate? It was helpful to see a history on National Treasures and Select where you can see how they did over the last few year! I did not plan on opening the box. I like the 2020 rookie football group better then last two years that why I want to start off with 2020.
    Thanks

One of my first autograph cards was a bad purchase. You need to check distinction of what type of autograph your buying. Sometimes people will get “in person”(at the end of a live game), on card autograph, which are not certified via Topps or Panini. In my case it was a cheap lesson, “Tyler Glasgow Gypsy Queen RC $4”. If your buying a big name it could cost you a lot. On the card it usually has indicators for legitimacy with autos. Good looks on pointing out and breaking down “sticker autos”. I didn’t understand why those cards were not aesthetically pleasing but now do.

I bought 200 Upper Deck, 400 Fleer and 400 Donruss 1989 Ken Griffey Jr. cards in 1988 from a card breaker. $1.50 for the Upper Deck and 75 cents for the others. Made a ton on the Upper Deck and a small ton on the others. t.

Agree with almost everything you say. But the market baffles me, and I think trends may change as people begin to love more brands than just Prizm and National Treasures, which will increase the supply of rookie cards (as if Panini isn't doing this already with Prizm Silvers which aren't serial numbered). I will say the whole Rookies going for so much more than Patch Auto's still baffles me. I know it's all supply and demand, but I think this may be changing in future years when (as you saw with all of your Zion rookies and even mentioned yourself) Panini continues to overprint rookie cards across the vast majority of their brands and investors start getting burned. Today I grabbed an Anthony Davis On Card Auto with Patch serial numbered outta 25 for $48, a Bradley Beal On Card Auto Patch serial numbered for $18, and a durant Patch auto for $50. I'm not huge on flipping I just buy what I like. But it baffles me how high some of the Prizm silver rookies from last year are going for; previous years I can understand when there was more limited supply. But it's crazy to me when there's so many rookie cards with so many brands. We'll see if the trends stay the same, but I like to zig when others zag. Patch autos have worked out for some of the higher end players. I have a patch auto MJ out of 25 that's worth approximately 2.5k to 3k, and it's at the absolute low end due to he's with the wizards - but those bulls exquisite patch autos go for 60k+.

He did say Superfractor correctly, though. Maybe just a dialect thing? In my two years of watching this is the only one I noticed like that.

I was told to stay away from buying boxes of ebay because they are being weighted? Is this a real thing? If it is what can someone like me do to be able to buy boxes with out getting screwed? Any feedback is appreciated. Nice video

I collect unopened boxes if my favorite players are on the box top.

I'm just into raw cards. I would love to have a few graded but can't really afford it or afford to wait for the cards to get back to me. Idk, i just don't have any desire to invest in graded cards. Especially with the slab junk era on it's way.
