So many questions! I need to know more about these fx! Could this replace my pedalboard? I use a Boss RC-300 with a bunch of pedals... can you set up each song with different fx pre-set and ready to be used? Are the vocal fx decent? Does it include a harmonizer? Is it one-tap scrolling through the different channels/songs? Are they available in Canada? Super cool, especially if the fx are useable!
Can you control whether mic-in is looping or not? Could this actually replace an audio interface? My focusrite has 2 headphone jacks which is really the only thing I see that this doesn’t have...but I’m more curious about sound quality!
@@TidesOnEarth No you cannot control whether the mic-in is looping or not. The Boss RC-300, believe it or not, has a lot more customizability in its looping abilities. I wrote a long detailed critique of the many problems with this looper to HeadRush. Hopefully they will address the concerns.
Yes you can set up FX pre-sets. You have 4 kind of "banks" of presets that you can switch on and off. Takes four taps to turn an effect on and off (open FX menu, turn FX on, turn FX off, close FX menu). Vocal FX are decent. Includes a pedal controllable Whammy and a detune(octave) thing. Sounds pretty good, with some tweaking can sound like a bass guitar. Nothing about this thing is one tap scrolling. FX are useable, but I'd recommend having an additional MIDI device to turn them on and off...and we're just adding more setup time and more stage space. I also did an in depth dive into this thing and found LOTS of problems with its customizability. I'm hoping they address these concerns in future firmware updates. It has SO much potential but in its current state it is NOT the be-all-end-all looper pedal. Maybe BOSS will take the bait and take a stab at it. But C'MON HeadRush! You're so close!
Matt Bolton Music thank you so much for taking the time to respond! You’re right about it being so close. My RC300 and pedalboard weigh in at about 50lbs so I was excited at the idea of this potentially replacing my rig. Tap dancing is an issue for sure. Fingers crossed that the board evolves and soon as it really has a chance to be something special.
Matt Bolton Music did a test today and through routing I was able to use the mic without it looping. Mic input 1 set to track 4 and output to PA. So as long as I’m not using track 4. It won’t record the mic in. Hope that makes sense.
I can't seem to find anything that says if there is midi clock out. I didn't get a reply from Headrush. Anyone know? Midi clock out is very useful for things like tempos based effects and external drum machines.
Can I control the Looperboard using a MIDI controller foot pedal? I just want to be able to hit record/stop then goto next track with a foot pedal (on ground) and have the Looperboard on a table so I can edit without bending over to adjust stuff… If yes, what midi or usb pedal would you recommend will work?
Is it possible to switch between different memories without interruption? A la Scenes in ableton live? I'm looking for playback device that can time-stretch and hold unlimited amount of audio. This one looks more rugged than computer + interface + controller.
I was really excited to receive this Looperboard and start jamming. Nearly impossible to get it to work how I wanted. I returned it after 3 days. I am a software engineer, and I just thought the software was so poorly executed, it really frustrated me to the point of returning it for the RC-300. Not worth the money yet, They really need to do some User Research and deliver on being allegedly "the most advanced looperboard". Thought this product was a rushed, poor attempt at a Looper strung together by amateur developers/and or amateur Musicians/developers. They should talk to their Users more.
That's funny, because I have found it to be amazingly intuitive, stable and well thought out.....like a mini-DAW! Conversely, I returned my archaic RC300. But then again, I'm a chemical engineer so maybe we understand software better!!!
@@ssegura934 Maybe they updated it enough to change your opinion by now, because a some of the more recent comments than this one you posted a year ago actually rave about how much the company has been listening to users and incorporating what they ask for into updates; most reviews seem to be pretty positive, particularly in regard to their attention to what users are saying. I have to ask...why would I want a touch screen and adjustment knobs on something I'm going to control primarily with my feet? I sincerely hope there's some way to route that display to a laptop or something, with all that USB connectivity.
Can you assign specific tracks to to certain things? For example: track 1 and 2 is for guitar and track 3 is for a microphone. If I’m recording my loop in track 1 or 2 will it pick up track 3? If that makes sense. Like. Could I loop a vocal melody (while playing my guitar) but not loop what I’m playing? Until I select that track to loop on?
Yes, you can do this pretty easily with creative routing within the looper. This is the improvement that this looper has addressed. HOWEVER, read my other replies in the comments about the many limitations of this looper. The sync looping options are limited. The RC300 has much more looping potential with less routing potential under the current firmware.
can I start playing track 1,4 without 2 and 3?? track 2 an 3 is just for chorus and the other I have to play at one tap... is it possible to set it with this? Cause this is the big thing what should looper have. And I search it on internet and didn't find this function... even boss RC 300 can do this with dual foot switch pedal. If this headrush doesn't have this function.. I would be very angry :D
It's an impressive block of gear, but doesn't work for me I guess. I'm on the creative side, playing and improvising, usually do a recording in one take (and yes, I use simple loopers too). When using this board I'd be hopelessly lost, trying to be a studio technician which I'm not. Trying to pre-produce and arrange my tracks before any notes are played. Yes... BUT... big BUT here: Can you actually chain the "awesome" 4 channel loops? (not just "serialize" individual tracks within any given "loop" which seriously limits what you can "add/mix/chain" into a SONG?) No you can’t!! Ridiculous! What's the point of having a great four channel “loop” if it's essentially nothing more than one "mono-thematic" section of a song!! Actual musicians (and songwriters and producers) KNOW AND HAVE LEARNED that LOOPS ARE NOT SONGS! Even stupid songs have the advantage over “loops” that they can actually have some variation between an “A” section and a “B” section. Not this thing. If you're ONLY into LOOPS, well sure, you might think this thing is great. The fact that Headrush did not provision being able to chain these “awesome 4 channel stereo track/loops” to create actual songs/arrangements from them... (like VoiceLive and a dozen other somewhat flexible loopers ) ... is unbelievable to me! What they do let you do is put any of the four tracks within a loop into a song order...what a load of bull... because what you have to understand is that doing so strips away ALL of the value of having the four tracks! Because your song sections now comprise only one stereo track each ... so now your brilliant “4 channel” machine isn’t any more advanced than a $99 Nuxe Looper, which actually has WAY more functionality because at least with it you can actually chain up to 99 sections/loops! In short calling this thing "the most advanced looper" is just total marketing bullshit. Sorry... it's just another plain STUPID Looper when you actually want to use it in an actual song/arrangement capacity. To be able to chain the actual 4 channel loops (into interesting, changing, textured, MUSICAL SECTIONS!!!) and not just sequence single tracks IN a “limited-to-only-4-sections” capacity ...well, THAT would be very useful Headrush! ... Meanwhile here’s a metaphor for you all to chew on before you go plunk down $900: ”We've got this great new RV fer y’all ... sooo advanced better than any motor-home out there ... every feature imaginable in a "home" ... except ... uh... you can only drive this thing around the block. Doesn't drive on highways." Seriously Headrush! Do your homework! It's like when you came out with the "killer" Gigboard and then totally tied it's lush stereo "sonic hands" with a frikin' MONO FX send/return! You just sucked the life out of every decent pedal I have ... looping into/through your box. Okay... now for a little compassion on my end: I LOVE the Gigboard. I almost sent it back because of that... meaning when I discovered that I couldn’t insert my $600 Strymon Timeline without collapsing it to mono (like essentially turning it into a $99 Boss delay!) ... I originally said, “fuck it”... BUT... in the case of the Gigboard (it really it IS a killer sounding beast) I was actually able to gerry-rig a workaround using a $2 stereo adapter cable from my stereo Timeline back into the aux in. Otherwise I really would have sent it back. Here’s why I’m telling you this: this proved that the Gigboard actually HAS the ability to have a stereo FX send/return... but they DIDN’t integrate it. The Looper also totally HAS the capacity to chain its four channel loops and make it actually highly functional/desirable... but again, they HAVEN’T integrated it! WTF not?? is my big question. It really makes you wonder who’s “drivin’” doesn’t it? My advice: until they get their asses in gear, and stop letting lame-o marketing dweebs run the show instead of integrating needing functionality based on talking to real-world users/musicians/producers/song-writers (or possibly “padding profits” with some down-the-road- “upgrade”)... don’t waste your money and/or support this kind of bullshit!
12 minute video, 11.5 minutes of overview and less than a minute of actually demo or looping. Probably one of the worst "overview demos" - what a waste of time. None will get sold based on this guy..

I dont think it would be that bad
at first glance this looks like a semi foot semi hand operated toy for tech guys. at second glance you realize rc505mk1 was the last "non toy" looper... disappointment all over the loopers community from rc505mk2, rc 600 , and this toy here. hear me out - rc300 and rc505 mk1 are the last real loopers for real musicians. all the rest are highly advertised toys. i make my full income from performing live. dont believe all those biased "content creators".

Sounds of the guitar in the ending loop are so ugly, maybe you cant use it without an amp / cabinet sim? Sounds terrible
Yes... BUT... big BUT here: Can you actually chain the "awesome" 4 channel loops?
FUCK
Truth hurts coming from your mouth sir! The venom was highly potent....
Is this still true after the 2.0.3. Firmware update?
12 minute video, 11.5 minutes of overview and less than a minute of actually demo or looping. Probably one of the worst "overview demos" - what a waste of time. None will get sold based on this guy..
and the best bit of all is that its not complicated to learn how to use all of its features 😂🤣
E esse bend desafinado... kkkk 😂 a pedaleira é top mais na mão de que nao sabe usar é ridículo!!
Says ‘powerful’ like a 100 times 😂
BRO
Annoying car sale intensity matched by hypo drum demo. Calm down mate.
He's doing his job and knows his product like a professional. Nothing wrong with that.
like I said. Calm down mate.
Absolutely garbage.
Really...find a better guitar player. Its a brilliant pedalboard to do this demo...deception...
That can be more of a distraction to a demo.
Sean Haley will be great!
Sounds like trash..
