From what I’ve heard, the pre launch section serves a different kind of purpose besides offering thrills. I don’t know if Mack confirmed it, and I could be wrong, but the pre launch section also acts as a scale. It weighs the trains as it bounces it up and down, then it takes the information and transforms it into the desired amount of power need to launch the train upwards without causing a rollback.
@@davefroman4700 They are disconnecting the rails, this is the gap, but yes, they will not be able to weight the trains, as long the rails are connected. After this, the rails connect again an the train ist shot out of the station. It will be crazy and a masterpiece of theming of all time, if this was just done to weight the trains.
Europa park really hit it out of the park with this ride! I’ve said it before, and I’ll stand by this statement: this is probably the Magnum Opus of Mack Rides!
Firstly, we need a Gabby POV, secondly T saying there's a lot of airtime the second before the crazy drop off the mid-course and getting yeeted to the moon was perfection
To me, this looks like a try top tier coaster, and definitely top 15, from the length, to consistent intensity, to crazy amounts and quality of inversions, super good sustained airtime, theming, everything!
Happy to see how much fun you had with Voltron. I really like the editing between the shots of your reaction and the panorama shots of how the coaster flew through it's course. Makes for a really great balance between both.
As a Holiday World operator, I've already met a few people who has Voltron as their favorite coaster and I don't blame them. This coaster is on the epic tier of attraction design and theming. I remember the announcement feeling like this coaster is too good to be real, but here it is. I can only imagine just how outdated Blue Fire is now.

Amazing ride. We are heading over from Ireland in October for our first ever visit to Europa Park. It's going to be incredible! I can't wait for Coastin thru Europe 3 episode 1, excited to see your thoughts on our Emerald Park. ❤
I got 9 rides during my two day stay, I always used Single Rider, because the wait was shorter there. I noticed that the Single Riders are almost always guaranteed to get the left seat, because they join a Group of three and they occupy the other seats. I was once lucky and got the right seat, because a girl was scared and went straight to the exit. In my opinion, some of the elements are way better on the right seat so it was a little annoying that I had 8 rides on the left. However I really love Voltron's Layout and the quantity of airtime is just insane. The Hill after the Stall is one of the most insane and powerful I personally know. It's by far the best coaster in germany and the best Mack Coaster for me, but I didn't ride Hyperia.
Yeah last row right side is the Creme de la Creme on that Ride. I rode it 13 Times and I will be there in December for some cold night rides. I still don’t think it’s the best ride in Germany. Schwur des Kärnen and Taron are pretty high up there imo. On Europe Scale with RTH, GCE, Toutatis, Zadra and Lech Coaster it’s even looking worse
I am so happy that my home park finally has a stand out ride. I hope they fix the shakyness of the ride tho. Some Trains on the Wing seats offer a very rough experince whats kinda sad for this coaster. But Mack Rides said they are working on it. I am glad you liked it. The Airtime on this ride is crazy
Honestly I think a ride like Voltron would be great for Kings Island because they need another launched ride and they have so much room to work with for it.
Oh man! I really always was jealous of you guys in the US for your surpreme coaster collection (and I still are) but now there is this absolute monster of a ride and it is so much in reach that I (in fact) get to ride it once a week 🙈 It is such a good addition to Europa Park and it lifts it up to maybe the best Park I visited up until now! 😍
Can’t wait for this Voltron review 👏👏👏 MACK Rides, Europa Park, you guys hit a home run and I wouldn’t be surprised if this or Hyperia are the best ride for 2024
I started saying that as soon as I got off the ride weeks back. I was on team Extreme Spinner but now I think a Stryker would be better. Sadly we'll likely get neither.
Taron. Kärnan. I cannot decide thanks to Voltron. They may as well become the top three in Germany, but the amount of effort and craziness, along with the advanced technology thrown into Voltron is what really does it for me 💯
This ride looks absolutely insane! Given how successful this ride is, it will only be a matter of time before the Stryker coaster gets introduced to America
You should be. But be warned that some have said 2 of the trains have a bad vibration that Mack was hoping to fix. Not sure the current status but just keep that in mind.
I really want to love Voltron, and it is probably one of the best coasters in europe - if it wasn't so uncomfortably rattly on some trains. I was able to ride in every seat location, on many different trains. If you get a lucky train, and get seated in the middle seat, you'll have one of the best rides in europe. If you get seated on the wing seat, and or have a bad train, you will get your imaginary brain aneurism popped in the high-positive-G valleys. You don't really get to pick your row or your train, so basically it boils to blind luck. I was not able to decode the Voltron formula yet, but my best experiences were in first row, in the middle seats. Not sure what train numbers though. I just know train 6 row 3 was horrendous for the whole row, even the middle seats. Maybe somebody else knows the best train/row? I would for sure like to know :) I hope Mack is able to fix this for next season. I would really love to see a more consistent experience, otherwise it is such a hit or miss with Voltron unfortunately.
Rode this 6 times this year. 5 rides - amazing. The final ride though was the roughest and most uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had. It was painful. Something wrong with the train. Hope they sorted it!
The whole package of Voltron is spectacular, much better than RtH, Hyperia, Untamed and other big roller coasters in Europe. Ok, Rookburgh and Klugheim are also spectacular.
Incredible ride. I feel fortunate that I had a Europe trip right after this opened and now I desperately want KI to build this model. EDIT: Resisting the urge to bring up Talon...at Dorney Park.
Rode it last week a few times, without a doubt the best presented coaster in Europe, the pre-station queue and preshow are utterly fantastic!! I just wish the turntable was enclosed so they could use a bit of smoke etc... for effect. I did however ride each of my 3 times on an edge seat and did find it had a nasty rattle all the way round, some trains were worse than others, but not good for a brand new ride.
Bad luck! You visited the park on the few days when they had replaced the epic turntable audio track with some random Nikola Tesla screaming and charging sound 😞. Anyway this ride is fire!!!
I did it 6 days ago. And I did it because my 2 older sister wanted to do it, and it was better to do it than waiting 30-40 minutes doing nothing. And im someone who like rollercoaster but my body hate negative G’s. So during the whole waiting line I was asking myself if I really wanted to do it. So I did it and the only thing I was really concerned was the big looping at the start. I closed my eyes most of the ride (btw it was the first « intense » roller coaster that I have done) because if I see that the ride is going steep my brain « amplifies » the negative G’s effect, in the way that It give me nausea during the airtime (worse when I see how steep it is). The first looping that I was concerned for was more fun that I expected, it was funny to see the ground by looking up. Overall: even If you are not really someone who like intense ride the Voltron is still pretty fun, but may cause nausea after it. The thing that scared me the most was the tesla coil that activated in the waiting line, it was extremely loud (but nice tesla coil music).
