For $3500 a month i expect soft close hinges. 7:54 The side of the fridge by the stove burners is the exact reason a stove is not supposed to be against a wall or fridge. the heat or splashing from cooking with destroy whats right next to it and always make it look dirty. There should be at least 10" of clearance to avoid that. 8:30 Beautiful floor! The refinishing came out nice. 9:00 when you see those are installed its an automatic no. That Pinkys Space looks like a unique concept, and also the Ilama cafe must be fun to have downstairs. Cash you must be so busy at work with the hot rental market right now so we don't mind if you post less videos 😉 take care!
This one's too rich for my blood. $3600 for a one-bedroom, no updated/renovated kitchen & bath, and no in-unit laundry? I get that this is in the East Village and that'll drive up the rent a bit, but that price seems too steep (for me).
I enjoy watching this channel, it provides a trip down memory lane to my childhood or college years in which I returned to NY. The apartments are clearly going up and while this one looks pretty good I think when you consider what this kind of money gets you world wide even in the largest and most developed capital cities it puts things into perspective. Consider what you get for this price in Rome, Madrid, Barcelona and even Zürich which is an expensive city to live in. Spoiler alert, the standards of what is clean, in good shape and of quality the materials are different.
My best friend lived in Astoria and had a bathroom that required you to put one foot into the tub if you sat on the toilet which was turquoise, the sink was a tiny sink made for a small camper, and the door was from an old classroom and had a huge glass window that the landlord put green contact paper over so you couldn’t look in when people were using it. That masterpiece was in a $2,000 a month apartment.
Maroon is my favorite color and I have a kitschy love for colored bathroom accoutrements. Best bathroom I ever saw was from the early 1960s and it was not only all pink tile, but it also had pink sinks, a pink bathtub and soap holder, and a pink toilet. And the owner had decorated with hand-painted vintage ceramic wall fish, bubbles and mermaids. Ahhhhh. So cute and weird. So yeah, anyway, I could do without the black tile but I dig the maroon bathtub and toidy. Maybe hunt on EBay for a matching seat LOL.
Love the shots you get. Every time I see you get a shot of you going in a door or on the street with the camera on the floor, I wonder....."How many times has someone tried to make off with your camera?" Be safe!
Seems landlords don't even bother to do any updates because they know that even at an obscene rent of $3600 they'll find a renter. I moved out of NYC a couple years ago ("let's esccape the crazy mandates") to the Midwest, but was planning on returning...but, geez, the prices have gotten absolutely insane.
Nope. Too small, too expensive, wierd bathroom, old appliances etc. The neighborhood is cool, but no this is not a good place. Love the narrations with business owners and a look see in some of the shops! You should def do stand up on the side; maybe make some videos showing how to get yourself and your bike through small doorways, you killed it on that one! Lol, have a great day Cash 😁
I like the maroon bathroom fixtures but I'd def get rid of the black tiles. $3600/month and no dishwasher? Ack. I wouldn't mind the iron gate over the fire escape window...no telling what kind of creeps you got living above or below you but I'd love having a fire escape! New York must be getting rougher since you're not putting out so many vids but you do need a break. I don't think we understand the video editing part of the process as well as we should. That part is tedious. Easy to film, easy to upload but editing is another ball of wax. Keep struttin', Cash... we'll still be here, enjoying what you do give us. Thanks for everything.
My grandfather used to be a super at a building in that area. I would say he would be rolling over in his grave at that rent, but knowing him, he is probably laughing. That refrigerator will die in six months and when the super replaces it with a cheap new model your rent will go up $500.
For a place in the East Village, that's a pretty good deal! The bedroom is the same size as my master bedroom in Silicon Valley. As for how one breaks a toilet seat, if it's cheap plastic, just sitting on it works if you're really heavy. If normal-weight people use it over the course of I-don't-know-how-many years, it'll either break or the connectors that hold it to the toilet will break. If they really wanted it to match, they could have painted the toilet seat.
Or, they could just buy that color. Toilet seats come in a surprising number of colors and materials. (I'm not a fan of toilet seat covers, so instead I would match the toilet seat to my shower curtain and accessories. I've come across them in burgundy/maroon. I used to have one.)

It wasn't as fancy as the Waldorf but I could afford it. The year: 1969. A year later I moved to Atlanta and bought a car. These videos really take me back to those carefree days of my youth.

Maybe a sectional that makes an L shaped couch that can be moved in sections. My friends and I once moved an old Victorian sofa up four flights of stairs into a walk up apartment in the Village. When I later sold the sofa I was very happy that the person who bought it had to figure out how to get that sofa beck down those stairs.
$3500 for an outdated bathroom, ancient appliances and a very small living space.. naaaaaw. Also, confused there was no video yesterday(wednesday)? Noticed every few Fridays there is no video either. Don't overwork yourself or you might forget more stuff and have to buy your wife more yellow roses!
Wallpaper lol--- it's contact paper. My grandmothers shelves always had contact paper. Instead of scrubbing the shelves, she pulled off & changed it when it got too dirty or dusty.
They really need to have someone supervising that community fridge because people will damage it, sad to say. People who need food would feel safer eating the food as well. There should be receipts given to those who donate food as well--just like they have receipts given to you at the thrift stores. It would definitely promote donations.
I have had many toilet seats break in my lifetime. They are not meant to last forever. Hell, I usually replace mine every 6-9 months for hygiene reasons
"How do you break a toilet seat anyway?" I will remind you of your own words earlier in the video "Don't ask questions that you're not ready to hear the answer to..." 😃 $3,600 for a 'meh' place in a great location. I get vertigo just looking down the 6 floors from you camera shot... (and no sink sprayer... 😔)
Luvin your vids, especially the sidebar shop reviews - cafes and such (42st bus terminal was great - know the area well). I know people mentioned this before, but it seems so risky to leave your 2k plus camera on the ground to record your entries to locations - very cool way to record, but I guess if anyone sees a camera on the ground on a tripod, they figure someone is close by. Is the reason you use such a large camera versus a GoPro because of the lens? (Quick zooming in and out)?
The wall/contact paper in the kitchen cabinet was used BEFORE the draw/cabinet liners were used. That goes to show you how old those cabinets are. Those kitchen cabinets (at least the lower ones) are original to the apartment as well as that bathroom. 🤣🤣

That’s not wallpaper, it shelf paper. You can still buy it. It’s peel and stick and makes the shelves easier to clean not to mention prettier. Yes that’s a matter of opinion. Have I just dated myself?
That's probably not wallpaper on the shelves in the kitchen. It's shelf paper or contact paper...lol. It was all the rage in the 70's. By the 80's, it had fallen out of favor, but a lot of renters continued to use it, if for nothing more than keeping the shelves clean for that final inspection. You could tell how many people had lived in a place just by removing the shelf paper, because each successive renter had just papered over the previous tenant's paper. It was modern day archeology...lol.

7:20 poor layout, having the bathroom at the entrance is always a deal breaker when paying that much
7:40 Ah yes, they cheap hinges that slam and wakes everyone up.
I remember the days of people accessing the roof then coming down the firescapes to break into peoples apartments, and im a Millennial so that's not too long ago.
I can't stop laughing, imagine having to make $140,000 minimum to live here but at least they can tell their friends they live in Manhattan 😂
@Dark Wings A food bank? No, not at all 🤣. They cut out the middleman and go straight to the source. Search for “freegan NYC” on UA-cam. If you haven’t run across it yet it’s a good eye opener. Driving luxury cars, living in expensive apartments but have to dumpster dive to feed themselves.
Amazing video! Super cute apartment with a nice view, vintage bathroom and decades old appliances will appeal to someone in no time lol. That Pinkys Space looks like a unique concept, and also the Ilama cafe must be fun to have downstairs. Cash you must be so busy at work with the hot rental market right now so we don't mind if you post less videos 😉 take care!
Cash, you seem like such a good guy and very funny too. Thanks for these vids, very entertaining.
I’m thinking that’s contact paper on the cupboard shelves? That used to be a big thing.
The apartments are clearly going up and while this one looks pretty good I think when you consider what this kind of money gets you world wide even in the largest and most developed capital
cities it puts things into perspective. Consider what you get for this price in Rome, Madrid, Barcelona and even Zürich which is an expensive city to live in. Spoiler alert, the standards of what is clean, in good shape and of quality the materials are different.
I'm officially voting this as the ugliest bathroom in NY. This is the type of set-up I'd expect for Zoolander...
I like Zoolander!
@@MissCane9 well, I guess you like his bathroom too!!!
When First Boston had the world's largest private trading floor at Park Avenue Plaza maroon was the color they chose for their telephones.
You are correct. UGLIEST EVER
Watching you travel all over NYC, even with your bike, has got to be exhausting with all of the streets, stairs and doors. You do a good job. 🙂
Usually those bars have an inside latch to open them for emergency exits.
My grandfather used to be a super at a building in that area. I would say he would be rolling over in his grave at that rent, but knowing him, he is probably laughing. That refrigerator will die in six months and when the super replaces it with a cheap new model your rent will go up $500.
Sláinte is "cheers" in Irish, I was surprised you didn't call it out as an Irish bar
He's back
Pinks Space looks real nice. Adding that to my list
A black toilet seat would match the decor lol
Cute apartment. But please, try not to skip any more days. This poor old grandma has a hard time managing the stress when her favorite YT posters don't show up on schedule! Especially with all the violence nowadays.
Wonder if he knows how many Grandma’s watch him ? He and my youngest are the same age I’m thinking. I hear ya though always look forward to coffee and watching Cash in the morning
aloha from a senior on the Big Island of Hawaii .... I'll never move there. Cash is such a joy and the neighborhood cruises are good fun. maybe we should get that boy some pants without holes in the knees ... 😄😁😆😅🤣😂🙃
@@angelicaangelica8584 I'm sure there's a lot of us! Cash is entertaining and I get to see New York. I'm in Texas so this week is hard and then the subway attack there a few weeks ago, when Cash doesn't show up on a normal posting day, I find myself feeling uneasy until the next post. Plus another of my favorites announced he's on vacation this week so I'm already off balance, lol.
@@rdph6693 I, too, am a granny from Texas. Cash is much younger than my youngest, he's actually not much older than my grandson. I love his personality, humor and especially his daughter, Violet. She is so adorable.
I'm always afraid he's fallen off that bike and bashed his brains in. He refuses to wear a helmet. I'd go into serious withdrawal if he stopped posting!!
I like this apartment. I like the older ones.....they have so much character.
HA! You're in my neighb, Cashus! WELCOME! While $3600/month is very expensive it is surprisingly cheap (or, in the range) of what units are going for in that area given what you're getting. What is even MORE SURPRISING (well, to me anyway) is that this unit is in some sort of decent livable/acceptable condition! You would be SHOCKED over what Landlords are charging for these units in this area without doing even the minimum of upgrades--even cleaning! This unit is going to move even with its "Studio 54" bathroom...
Love the neighborhood interviews
Another nice apartment. You are great at giving these tours . Enjoyed.
That is shelf paper and it is MADE for your kitchen shelfs.
Those bathoom fixtures were the Deal of the Day when the contractor picked them up
😂🤣😂🤣😂
What a rent tho! Whoa, way too high. Otherwise, it's quite adorable. I could live there - alone only.
Thanks!
I love how these businesses celebrate individuality!!
Suddenly, l feel so freaking old $3,595.00 for a one bedroom in the East Village? I rented my first *Grown-up (meaning no roommates) apartment in East Village in 1977 for a whopping $147.00 a month! That’s like 24X’s the Rent l paid! I live the East Village but OMG... $3,595.00 is outrageous!
P.S. What happened to you yesterday, l waited for your Wednesday video and you were a no show... I hope everything’s okay. 🤷🏻♀️
I lived in Little Italy and the East Village too and paid about the same thing too. But even by today's money, it's about $1500 too high.
I just assumed that he decided not to post out of respect for those helpless, murdered, little children and the two teachers, in Texas
I had an apartment on East first for $95 a month in 77. And it was larger than that apartment. I had to paint it a clean it myself but for that price I was willing to do that.
@@sinash
Thank you... That was horrific!
0:58 happy to see they clean and remove the crap from this beautiful piece of art.
The music. Wow. I had to look it up. from your description.
Your channel and aml films are my favorite
Hey, I really enjoy real estate tours as mindless entertainment and yours are top notch. Never in a million years, however, will I move to NYC (too expensive/crowded for me) so since I don't need a neighborhood your for half+ each video, I was wondering if you could start including timestamps for the point in the video where you actually get to the space?
The muscles you is gonna build hauling that bike around :)
I used to live on Saint Marks between 2nd and 3rd way back 'n a day. The neighborhood still looks nice, and I love the retro bathroom. But I'd like to not squeeze through the doorway at that rent.
I used to live on that same block, back in the early/mid '70s. It was a great apartment in a ratty old building across from the Electric Circus (does anyone remember the Electric Circus?). I think I paid around $175!
@@bettinae9552 YES. 25 Saint Marks Place!
@@MissCane9 I was in 26 St. Marks.... you were right across the street. It was a great time, before the street became a bazaar. And the Hell's Angels kept the peace!
I once lived in the West Village near Washington Square in a large hotel room with a view and maid service. It came with a fridge and a hot plate. The rent was 35 dollars a week. It wasn't as fancy as the Waldorf but I could afford it. The year: 1969. A year later I moved to Atlanta and bought a car.
These videos really take me back to those carefree days of my youth.
It is a nice apartment. Very New Yorkish. Very retro.
A lot of one bedroom apartments in Copenhagen is the size of this one. It’s more normal than not. The view and lights are awesome and the street life is cozy looking.. I would probably live there if I could.
I love the bathroom. That black & purple color scheme is dated as all hell, but it's got an 80s/90s funky vibe about it that I like❤️
You bringing that bike was better than any trick shot video I’ve ever seen.🤣😂
That bathroom & kitchen are so retro chic . Definitely fitted in the 1970’s . You’ll either love it or hate it . Cute apartment though 👍🏻
That’s a really cute apartment if it wasn’t so much money I would definitely rent it!
Ooooooh I want a purple toilet! Cash I don't think I have seen you on a skateboard. That ebike is sure handy until you have to keep track of it when you get there. Or on the train.
I live in Taipei, my apartment is the same size...except I have 120 sq foot outdoor patio. I pay $580/month. $3,500 here in Taipei i can live in a lush place wiht a pool and more OMG. Insane prices
… I’m old enough to remember when apartments in the east village were around $2000 during the pandemic… Oh well
Outrageous those rents!!!!
I couldn't find a video to day! (Friday) OK hope you are all right. See ya next time.
Beautiful thank you for all you do
Cash you crack me up everyday! Thank you for that 😁
Nice apartment, but waaay too expensive, considering location. Your little daughter is adorable ☺️!!
The ivy on the nearby building may look nice but the roots are getting into the mortar between the breaks and are damaging and weakening the building.
I'm always amazed anyone could move an L shaped couch, or any couch up those stairs and into that tiny entry way.
In love with the Lazy Llama coffee shop :)
Yaaaaassss I'm binge watch your videos!!!! This is right on time!!!! Did you find THE STRAND Brooklyn yet?
With the older fixtures and wood it kinda reminds me of the apt from breakfast at Tiffany’s but smaller.
You wrestling with your bike made my day. LOLOLOL. Miss the mini bike at all?
people in New York live in those pantry, wardrobe size places without washine machines and similar...we're so lucky here in Australia
Wallpaper lol--- it's contact paper. My grandmothers shelves always had contact paper. Instead of scrubbing the shelves, she pulled off & changed it when it got too dirty or dusty.
It's a nice, clean apartment. Not new, but not beat up. Easy floor plan.
Not wallpaper in the cupboard, but SHELF paper. They still make it. Find lots on Amazon.
They really need to have someone supervising that community fridge because people will damage it, sad to say. People who need food would feel safer eating the food as well. There should be receipts given to those who donate food as well--just like they have receipts given to you at the thrift stores. It would definitely promote donations.
Thank you for the video.
I had that whole apartment decorated in my head . The location is good, it is clean and not over$5000 a month. That apartment is going to rent fast.
Very nice apartment. Solid and bright.
Not a bad place! Not oddly chopped up, bright, beautiful hardwood floors.
Funny note: real estate agent & social veteran , can't park his bicycle out & take it with him to apartment tour
* This has many connotations

God bless America

Thanks
Slainte is definitely an Irish Pub,was in it a couple days ago...which most likely you've been kicked out of Cash😂
awesome apartment! I love it
if i ever moved to NYC, it occurs to me that i'm really going to have to get used to the amazing 'views'
i have never considered a bunch of buildings a good view.
Well there is an elevator but what about a sink sprayer?
I love all Olde good things! They have a store in downtown LA it was awesome
That called contact paper…not wallpaper. ☺️ Makes it super easy to clean.
It’s sad that inflation trickles down to food banks, shelters etc… It’s hurting all of us.
When I heard how you pronounced Houston Street, I did the deep dive. It interesting how and why you pronounce it correctly. Did I miss the memo about posting a video every other day? I need a daily Cash fix!
It,s a lovely little place but very expensive, luv. Maybe better for a couple who both have good jobs. I think everyone should be trying to save up to buy ( or beg, borrow or rob a bank) these rents are not generally affordable. Cheers mate,!
Glad i moved out to the outskirts of NYC...you can live in a house in nj or conn. 4 bedroom and spacious backyard for that
It's not wall paper on those shelves. It's shelf paper - it's actually a thing! My mother always used it
