Black people had a big part in creating rock and roll. That's why I find it humorous that this is typically known as "white people music" Good music will typically stick with most people regardless of color
This song fucking rocks my soul! And I was really shocked when I put a face to the voice. Wasn't expecting him! But this is my new favorite song! This guy fucking rocks!
I’m 14 years old. I never in my life listen to hard rock, hard metal, just rock in general I thought I couldn’t never get into this type of music. But I let my wonder finger work on apply music and I just so happened to stumble upon this song. THANK GOD I DID BECAUSE WOOOOOO CHILE THIS SONG JUST HITS.
My 4 y.o., on 100% his own volition, asked me to play this on the drive into school this morning. 2 things: (A) Apparently I play a lot of Sevendust when I am around him. (B) I am a happy and proud daddy.
If you listen to the words carefully, he is singing about the moral decay and absolute depravity we see running amok in out society today. The song is simply breathtaking!! What a message!!
Decay Cut the tongue you speak with to say, Don't believe, Don't believe it. The wrong way, On the path to somewhere, Don't feed the selfish mouth of man. That's a pretty powerful chorus!!
Lajon is metal's most powerful vocalist. No other metal singer has the presence, melody, and soul that he does. No other metal singer can grab you with their voice like Lajon can. Just my opinion.
This is the very BEST band I have ever seen live. What you hear here is what you get, the whole band is amazing. If you get a chance to see them live, GO. Just had to brag :)
Yo I looked up shows at nearest concert place to me, this is my first listen and it’s definitely want to see them, they are playing near me soon with creed and im hype to go
One of thee top best heavy rock bands in the past 25 yrs. If SEVENDUST comes to your neighborhood GO! see them live. Their that dam good. I saw them @ Jannus Landing St. Petersburg Fla USA w/Nonpoint Skindred & opening band Travesty Theory. I met lead singer Elias of Nonpoint before the show. Great awesome dude. And met everyone in Sevendust accept for their other guitar player besides Clint Lowery. Greetings from Pittsburgh Pa USA. Have a day everyone who reads this Krank up dem tunez. Keep it moving. And get a day clean.
Saw your comment before seeing them at the Hard Rock in Tampa. Seen them about 30 times throughout the years. 2 hour countdown has begun. Sevendust for life!!!
Warned, the voices I hear have warned me The deepest lies adore you And consume you in every way You're giving us nothing Decay! Cut the tongue you speak with to say Don't believe, don't believe it The wrong way, on a path to somewhere Don't feed the selfish mouth of man Born into a life that depletes me Your empty words have burned you And condemned you another day Again you mean nothing Decay! Cut the tongue you speak with to say Don't believe, don't believe it The wrong way, on a path to somewhere Don't feed the selfish mouth of man Take it away! Decay! Cut the tongue you speak with to say Don't believe, don't believe it The wrong way, on a path to somewhere Don't feed the selfish mouth of man Decay! Cut the tongue you speak with to say Don't believe, don't believe it The wrong way, on a path to somewhere Don't feed the selfish mouth of man Decay!
To SEVENDUST! 19 years of staying true to your fans and core audience. To never selling out, changing your style to chase the mean green, and yet still putting out great music.
One of my favorite shows of all time was opening band Travesty Theory Skindred Nonpoint and Sevenfust (headlined) @ Jannus Landing St. Petersburg Fla. Before the show,. I personally met lead singer Lajon Witherspoon. Politist person I've ever met and extremely proud to say that. Awesome live band. Awesome live song of SPLINTER
My first concert was Sevendust and Drowning pool in Wisconsin in 2002. Sevendust played Angel's Son for the first time, before the album was even out. Just thought I'd share how awesome that concert was and how kickass Decay is.
Years ago when 30 seconds to mars first came out they opened up for 7d and fire Marshall shut down club like 3 songs into 7d set. At end of tour they had a fan appreciation night for like 5 bucks back at bigger venue in town and it was insane. Hands down best band and fans
That's kind of my point. They did deserve it, just from the amount of time they have put in. I totally disagree on Cirice being better than Thank You. Went back and listened to them both, and you can clearly hear the band with more difficult progressions, and a far better vocalist. Opinions vary though, and maybe Ghost has better songs, but that chord progression in Cirice is pretty basic. Singer is a bit whiny.
+5urg3 yeah, thats their style. Didn't like it at first for the same reason you said. Thats why I totaly undesrtand you. But after listening to it 3 or 4 more times, it grew in me. And thats what ive seen happens with almost all first listeners, then they begin to like it more and more. I also thought It would have been cool to se sevendust win, they seem such nice persons, and have a long time in this. To end my point, I respect your taste and opinion. As you said, its up to personal thought.
Sevendust is the epitome of a hard working, long standing band. Every album is worked on until it's exactly what it is, Perfect. These guys have lasted through the rise and fall and rise again of Metal in Atlanta. Every band out of the Southeast region not only bow to these guys, but owe any success to them. Now you also have to look at their shows. They WORK those shows. They leave the stage completely drained because they bring 100% every single time. Look at Rock on the Range last year. They completely stole the show as soon as they hit the stage. They had the fans from the front to the back bouncing with the music. It was mesmerizing. Also, don't compare singers. It doesn't do any of them justice. They all bring something to the table. LJ brings the soul to metal, but when it's hitting hard, he can bring the hardness also. Yes, these guys should have won a Grammy (mind you, I don't watch that crap), but also a Life time achievement award for how long they have been standing strong as a band.
Your totally amazing and right they are not just amazing there fucking AMAZING SEVENDUST IS UNDERAPPRECIATED and unacceptable in my books I love there music
Confession: I remember hearing about Sevendust years ago thinking they were a gimmick with a black singer. I never really gave them a listen and yet liked one or two songs and didn't get much more exposure.. I couldn't have been more wrong. Saw them play in 2016 and Sevendust is easily in my top 10 of bands now! It's like I'm catching up on great TV series but I'm stoked they are still touring .. amazing. Lajon, Morgan, Clint, John, Vinnie .. thank you for slowing me down. :D
from 1998 to 2013 and these guys are still kickin ass!!! Sevendust has got to easily be one of the most underrated bands of our times I don't care what anyone has to say.
Reminds me a lot of the Home album, and as a fan of Sevendust's first two albums...this is a very good thing imo. Also, Lajon still looks like he hasn't age a bit, it's true that black don't crack.
These guys are still the shit. There's only a few that can say they survived the 90s. Don't stop making music that makes our adrenaline pump, and heads bang! Sevendust, come back to Jacksonville, FL
Sevendust always brings it. I have been a fan since "Black" was released at the beginning of their career. Saw them in TX with Marilyn Manson years back, and they stole the show. Great musicians, great showmanship, and great people.
Why these guys never got as big as some of their contemporaries is beyond me. Their old stuff holds up much better than much of what was released back then.
Deez Nuts 5FDP was actually good before prospect park kept making the band release albums every 9 months. Making 4 albums in the span of 4 years is not a good thing to do.
i liked them until war is the answer. i like a lot of their music but eh. not my favorite. i'm more into bands like gojira or deathcore bands. tho i would kill to see 7D live
UA-cam volume volume full blast? check PC tray icon volume full blast? check Headphone volume full blast? check Ears bleeding? definitely check STILL NOT LOUD ENOUGH!!!!
This is a classic sevendust song, its simple, effective and meaningful. The best song they have written and i should be recognized by everyone who likes mainstream metal.
It was a pleasure to hang with you guys in Sacramento tonite. An amazing show, and an amazing time after the show. Thanks Morgan for sharing your love for Dime with me. It was so awesome to talk with all of you. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Always said.... These guys are cool as FAWK... I heard this while I was in the pen.... Then I heard their arts from 99-00 ... These guys are raw.... I didn't really listen to this... This put me on the hook and Sevendust did what they say in this... These guys are amazing. Thought dude was white, too. Looks like Predator. All of 'em are gun't in.
i have followed sevendust ever since i first heard them in mid 90s. they always put out great music. and are by far one of the best live bands you will ever see! and in my opinion one of the most underated bands out there. i mean what a group!
I first saw these guys live at Guavaween in Ybor city on Halloween in 2002. I crowd surfed in a goblin mask and costume and have been a fan ever since. If you are a racist please feel free to wash your mouth out with buckshot! Bown Down because Seven dust owns with this song.
There are many black people in metal. God Forbid, Straight Line Stitch, Killswitch Engage(Howard Jones), Bionic Jive and Skindred to name a few. Even the rapper Ice Tea formed a metal band in the early 90's. The fact is the genre has incorporated people from all races, nations and religions. Don't believe the stereotypes
Who’s here in 2023 and can’t get enough?….Yep…me too
2024...still pumpin
I'm black and I love death metal! Metal is 90% of the music I listen to. I love breaking stereotypes. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Nicole Morgan right on dude me to
Black people had a big part in creating rock and roll. That's why I find it humorous that this is typically known as "white people music" Good music will typically stick with most people regardless of color
Nicole Morgan me to I'm black and i love grungerock, metal and punk rock i just love all rock

Nicole Morgan. I have riffs for months would like to hear your voice. Riffs coming soon!
I’m 14 years old. I never in my life listen to hard rock, hard metal, just rock in general I thought I couldn’t never get into this type of music. I'm 15 years old and I have been listening to deathcore and alot of other metal for years
Welcome. you’re at one of the best entry points possible. 😁🤘🏼
Love the opening guitars on this.
My 4 y.o., on 100% his own volition, asked me to play this on the drive into school this morning. 2 things: (A) Apparently I play a lot of Sevendust when I am around him. (B) I am a happy and proud daddy.
+Jaymz Hetfield Ha, well he's now 6 and the requests for 7D have only increased. I have to play this or Thank You everyday. I'm happy oblige!
What about now?
How about 2020?!
now that he is 10 he asks you to buy all the albums and go on long rides to listen to tons of songs from them huh?
Yes man. that is a good kid you got there. hahah
If you listen to the words carefully, he is singing about the moral decay and absolute depravity we see running amok in out society today. The song is simply breathtaking!! What a message!!
I love how you can listen and actually hear lyrics. Love his vocal melodies.
Exactly!!!!!
More fitting today in 2023
Decay
Cut the tongue you speak with to say,
Don't believe, Don't believe it.
The wrong way,
On the path to somewhere,
Don't feed the selfish mouth of man.
That's a pretty powerful chorus!!
Sevendust goes so fucking hard. They’re amazing.
Sevendust just KEEPS on making good music.
amen!
Yes they do and they are way underated.
+Alex Burr How are they underated? Please tell me. That's a misconception.
Typical sevendust, being fucking awesome as always,
That's because there is a Lowery involved :-) \m/
Lajon is metal's most powerful vocalist. No other metal singer has the presence, melody, and soul that he does. No other metal singer can grab you with their voice like Lajon can. Just my opinion.
So true !!!
Corey Taylor ?
What?...Lajon is a beast but there are many better...
In my opinion LJ, Cory Taylor and David Draimon
Tannis Axebrow Corey runs out of power about 2 songs into a live set...
Seeing them for the 29th time in two weeks. Can't wait.
10 times for me
Soo this a 7 year old lie lmao.
Sounds excessive
You must be from ATL or Tampa
Please tell us when you hit 30 times

You want a side of fries with that
Lmao
Yeah, let me get a #7.... Dust 😏
I will never stop loving these dudes. \m/
I absolutely love how these guys have not changed at all over the years, same old Sevendust doing great things.
it's what happens when a band doesn't get engulfed by a major record company and exploited as a money machine like so many metal bands
Just discovered these guys, and boy have I struck gold!
Don't forget to listen to "Seasons". ;)
Listen to the Home album, it’s so amazing. All their music is though
DunceGoes2Concerts and that's the tragedy, I'm sure many others that don't know would love them too!!!

You're giving us nothing
Decay! Cut the tongue you speak with to say

One of my favorite shows of all time was opening band Travesty Theory Skindred Nonpoint and Sevenfust (headlined) @ Jannus Landing St. Petersburg Fla.

My first concert was Sevendust and Drowning pool in Wisconsin in 2002. Sevendust played Angel's Son for the first time, before the album was even out.
Just thought I'd share how awesome that concert was and how kickass Decay is.
I saw them in concert they pumped up the crowed to the point that the cops had to be called just to stop us from destroying the club. It was awsome
I hope the cops had fun!!
Michael Stinnett Damn...
I got to have an Irish car bomb with lajon on my 25th birthday a few years ago. Super nice guy.
If I was one of those cops, I wouldn't be able to resist the urge to join in.
Years ago when 30 seconds to mars first came out they opened up for 7d and fire Marshall shut down club like 3 songs into 7d set. At end of tour they had a fan appreciation night for like 5 bucks back at bigger venue in town and it was insane. Hands down best band and fans
Sevendust hör ich noch 2024 sehr gerne! 😊❤ Da bangen die Nasenhaare. 😎
Best breakdown band ever! They should have won that grammy. I'm saying "Ghost who?". Oh well, true musician's know who really deserved it.
I know right! fuck ghost!! those grammys are obviously a huge joke. sevendust deserved to win that for sure
+Silphianable totaly agree, sevendust is fine, but ghost is on another level. Totaly worth cheeking If you don't know Who they are :)
That's kind of my point. They did deserve it, just from the amount of time they have put in. I totally disagree on Cirice being better than Thank You. Went back and listened to them both, and you can clearly hear the band with more difficult progressions, and a far better vocalist. I'm in love with the vocalist
First metal video in history where the drummer gets the most action. Sevendust are innovators
First time hearing this song today, that second intro riff is insaaaane .. had me headbanging with stank face instantly 😤
this song is fire !! Been a fan for close to 15 years... and these guys still bring it.
The 'dust is still going after all these years. Respect to them all. #Sevendust
Most underrated band in my life. So sad no one can see how AMAZING they are, really...
Your totally amazing and right they are not just amazing there fucking AMAZING SEVENDUST IS UNDERAPPRECIATED and unacceptable in my books I love there music
One of a handful of bands that keeps getting better as they go.
Sevendust = G.O.A.T
One of thee best hands down live bands of I've ever seen in 46 years of living
Confession: I remember hearing about Sevendust years ago thinking they were a gimmick with a black singer. I never really gave them a listen and yet liked one or two songs and didn't get much more exposure.. I couldn't have been more wrong. Saw them play in 2016 and Sevendust is easily in my top 10 of bands now! It's like I'm catching up on great TV series but I'm stoked they are still touring .. amazing. Lajon, Morgan, Clint, John, Vinnie .. thank you for slowing me down. :D
Old school Sevendust - love it love it love it

This is classic 7D material. Fuckin intense! And Morgan's style is unmatched anywhere. What a playa!
I saw these guys at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, Sc
Not every one who is black does rap. and not every one who is white does metal. Just stop. Who cares what skin color he is, hes an amazing singer!
Much love to Lajon and the whole squad i love yall💪🏽💪🏽
This song F*K* Perfect
My brother lajon..💥💎
sevendust is a metal standard, 9 records in a style that has worked for them for years, stadium acts like disturbed should be opening act for them
from 1998 to 2013 and these guys are still kickin ass!!!
This song really fucks hard❤
Oh man his voice is amazing.
Love the double-bass drumming and guitar solo!
BEAUTIFUL FUCKING MUSIC! PRAISE THE GUY ON UA-cam WHO SAID IN A COMMENT CHECK OUT THIS BAND! AWESOME MUSIC!
These guys are still the shit. There's only a few that can say they survived the 90s. Don't stop making music that makes our adrenaline pump, and heads bang! Sevendust, come back to Jacksonville, FL
got to see these guys the day before yesterday. they kicked some serious fucking ass \m/
Is there ever a time when they don't? If there is, I sure don't know of any ;)
Sevendust always brings it. I have been a fan since "Black" was released at the beginning of their career. Saw them in TX with Marilyn Manson years back, and they stole the show. Great musicians, great showmanship, and great people.
awesome song
Why these guys never got as big as some of their contemporaries is beyond me. Their old stuff holds up much better than much of what was released back then.
Reminds me of something like 5FDP mixed with metalcore. With more breakdowns than 5FDP. Being a fan of deathcore, i can easily get into these guys.
+sha-d paul please don't compare them to 5fdp...
Deez Nuts deathcore is my fucking shit!
they have always rocked and so glad they made a new cd
Thank you Apple girl

Sevendust rocks
It was a pleasure to hang with you guys in Sacramento tonite. An amazing show, and an amazing time after the show. Thanks Morgan for sharing your love for Dime with me. It was so awesome to talk with all of you. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
You can definitely hear his R&B influences in his voice
Seen them three times and they NEVER get old. Solid...
Awesome song, rockin' album.
If only UA-cam allowed for multiple likes. :Kicks in wall: This song is so sick, Sevendust.
i have followed sevendust ever since i first heard them in mid 90s. they always put out great music. and are by far one of the best live bands you will ever see! and in my opinion one of the most underated bands out there. i mean what a group!

I first saw these guys live at Guavaween in Ybor city on Halloween in 2002. I crowd surfed in a goblin mask and costume and have been a fan ever since. If you are a racist please feel free to wash your mouth out with buckshot! Bown Down because Seven dust owns with this song.
I was there! As always, great show. 1 of 20 times(at least) i've seen them ;)
I'm so fucking pumped for the new album.
second black guys I have seen in a metal band...awsome
There are many black people in metal. God Forbid, Straight Line Stitch, Killswitch Engage(Howard Jones), Bionic Jive and Skindred to name a few. Even the rapper Ice Tea formed a metal band in the early 90's. The fact is the genre has incorporated people from all races, nations and religions. Don't believe the stereotypes
Jason Cabral How could I forget the incredible Mike Smith from Suffocation
Jason Cabral Thank you sir.
Jason Cabral I don't....it's just that I never seen one exept here and in oceano
Derrick Green of Sepultura
It's good to see that a black man can rock out and rock hard. Keep rockin my brotha!!!
