Wood release is a rare instance of genetics that happens very very rarely. The wood release gene isn't a senju trait. In fact, it was exclusive to Hashirama since none of his relatives had access to it
I'm pretty sure that the wood release gene is just really, really, REALLY recessive. I'm pretty sure that it's getting passed on but I think the gene is so recessive that it's rare that it actually manifests.

Add the fact if we go by filler Asura had it meaning there's a chance since its recessive his descendants being the Uzumaki and Senju Clans have potential to use it some day and I'd argue since Hashirama is a reincarnation of Asura and his chakra nature affinities were Earth and Water gave him a high chances to possess that kekkei genkai, which explains why Naruto didn't have it despite being an Asura reincarnate too because of his affinity for Wind, if he didn't have that and instead had Earth and Water affinities than boom Wood Release Naruto. I have thought for the longest time now that most of the Naruto fans and even most of the people in the Naruto Universe completely misunderstand wood release. I don't think wood release was that much more overpowered than any other combined element release. I think it was that Hashirama himself was stupidly overpowered. And I think he would have achieved the same levels of stupidly overpoweredness with any of the other elemental combination kekkei genkai's. But due to the scarcity of wood release and also the fact that the only person people knew of who had it was stupidly overpowered, I think he unknowingly and unintentionally caused a massive misconception in the Ninja World where they thought "wood release itself was the key to his godliness", rather than the fact that it was HIM HIMSELF that was godly (Literally). I think someone like Yamato is your basic average wood release user and that Hashirama is just an exception among previous wood release users. I think the only reason they thought Yamato was underwhelming as a wood user is because he was being compared to A LITERAL GODCHILD. Also in regards to all of the neat unique abilities to Wood release. Again I think this was Hashirama and his stupidly overpoweredness finding out all these neat tricks with the power he was working with. I think if he'd had lava release or boil release or etc he would have developed all sorts of other unique abilities that we've never seen anyone else discover before.
Ikr people thought Hashirama was handed out with a power up when he himself was actually the one that made wood release OP. Just like how Kakashi's sharingan reduces his chakra and power yet still was able to fight Zabuza, Hidan and Kaku at the same time, and Pain.
brother.. just to clarify things.. as hagoromo stated, his chakra has been divided equally among indra and ashura..with his eyes and his body.. the only two ways to ever truly control the tailed beasts were through his power or his son's (this was the status quo before we had osutsukis left and right) the rinnegan (or even the mangekyou) can control the beasts using gengutsu.. while the wood release can suppress their chakra.. wood in particular was the only element capable of controling the chakra of tailed beasts.. therefore people would have the assumption that its supposed to be the rarest element of all i agree that hashirama was capable of learning any element, and be a God Level user, much like naruto was.. however, hashirama had to use wood release in order to control all tailed beasts.. its useless to use other elements since they arent able to suppress the chakra of tailed beasts
Paulo Cuento You are speaking fax but I feel like Hashirama being an incarnate of Asura plus his wood release helped him contain the tailed beats. Yamato when he tried to supress Naruto’s 9 tails chakra even eventually had trouble keeping it in check. Hashirama with his wood style was able to contain 9 actual tailed beats (not just a Jinchuriki in the 4 tails cloak), he was able to do everything else that he needed to do while still keeping them contained, and he could actually control them to a certain extent so I believe what you say about wood style being able to tame the tailed beats, but Hashirama’s genetics and him himself was able to break the limits of ordinary wood style

His chakra reserves were ridiculous because he is Ashura's chakra reincarnation, unlike Yamato who is simply an attempt at replicating the first Hokage's DNA to use wood style. Wood style is less effective for him because he doesn't have the same chakra reserves as the First Hokage, and we see he gets easily tired out, much like Kakashi's sharingan wearing him out much easier than say Itachi or Sasuke. Wood release for sure was shown to absorb the life energy of the Nine Tails chakra mode when Naruto went into it towards the war arc, which lava style or some other style would not be able to absorb, because the product of those styles isn't a living cellular thing like a wood style creation that Hashirama or Yamato would use. So, wood style is special, but also not what made Hashirama OP, it was his ridiculous chakra reserves. :)
It can be a good idea if #1. She uses woodstyle to push the plot forward like suppressing the karma seal or killing jagen or someone. #2. If they explain how she is a descendant of the 1st hokage

It would make sense, Konohamaru was assign a special trainer at an early age because of his family, maybe was team up with Moegi at an early age because of her bloodline, Maybe even Udon has something special.

Wood Release was never exclusive to just Hashirama. He was just the only known person born with it. At the end of the day it's just a kekkei genkai as a result of water and earth combination.

When the narative of the story became centered around riencarnation. And when wood release could suddenly manipulate bijuu. That was dumb as hell. If hashirama was just a damn genius and figured out the skill of how to absorb chakra. Which is a skill. And he integrated it into his kekkei genkai. Hashirama would be more impressive. That is what anoyed me with the end of naruto. Instead of abilities being tools the characters could hone and perfect. And add too to make stronger. It became a series where having a blood line instantly made u a god. Think of it like this. My problem is that there was no build up or back story to her having it. We know from the kakashi anbu arc that Yamato's wood release was because of an experiment which was a=good, but this new chick was just given the jitsu
That act only appeared in the episodes 349-361. Yamato first appeared in Naruto Shippūden Episode #34. And right now the universe is a Boruto Episode #154. Note: Kakashi's Anbu Arc: The Shinobi That Lives in the Darkness (349-361)
Mokuton isn't simply a rare power that other characters have... aside from Hashirama himself, NO other character has just been "born" with it. It's a ridiculously hyped and OP ability that others have been experimented on extensively in hopes of replicating it. So the fact that fodder Moegi just casually has it is just a step down from Udon casually having a Rinnegan.
Make her a Senju, don't give her any feats beyond what Yamato did and add in some canon fluff that says wood style is Senju exclusive but not Hashirama exclusive (although Hashirama took it to its pinnacle). That would work. Look at Naruto, he didn't invent Shadow Clone jutsu but he is absolutely it's master and his own personal talent expresses it self in his son Boruto who obviously has a gift for Shadow Clone usage, several generations from now the Uzumaki of Konoha could very well be known as "The Shadow Clone Clan" with mythical stories about Naruto that aren't too dissimilar from what we hear about Hashirama.
@@_Blank.- well, remember that each shadow clone splits your chakra in half (water clones for example are different). MASS shadow clone like naruto was using was supposed to be forbidden because it was too dangerous. 5 shadow clones is both an indication of high chakra AND a talent for the technique. Naruto STARTED with several hundred. It's an extremely impressive feat that even jounin couldn't safely do. Think about this, who else in the WHOLE series did MORE than 5 clones? How many of them were kids? Boruto could do it BEFORE he became a genin.

I was not surprised. The name Moegi itself is reference to wood, no matter how you translate it. I think it's pretty fine if she has just base wood release like Yamato. She had pretty impressive feats even back in Naruto, so we know she is a strong shinobi. However, if she gets Hashirama's Yang-Wood release or god forbid his tree sage mode... oh boy... that would be interesting to say at least.
plot twist she is a direct descendant of Hashirama.. you all gonna see in the future of Boruto.. Hashirama got 2 wives.. do not forget about this.. and Tsunade comes from mito uzumaki(reason why Naruto call her grandma) but tsunade never got married..did the bloodline stopped? not at all! 😅I'm sorry for the most part (especially after not commenting in like forever), but I'm gonna have go the opposite route on this one & say I personally believe this was a decently "good" idea. (Not necessarily for the Plot as much, but rather just to add a little more expansion to her character & overall the Wood Release itself) Thru out the entirety of Naruto, I personally never really associated the Wood release as being something that was explicitly exclusive to just Hashirama or his Senju Clan😶. I simply just saw it as him just being very lucky to have achieved it. (Maybe he may have had some help due to some strong connection to nature or something, but for the most part I just think he got it by chance🤔, kinda like how Moegi has right now). Yet anyhow, if they do end up having her show it later down the line, I am pretty sure they won't have her overly use it & running the risk of it being seen as nothing more than just another common ninja tool. But either way 😊 let's just wait & see how this all turns out, and never forget that "Moegi DNA is Love & Moegi DNA is Life 🌳" 😂
Yea but none of these people could do it naturally yo! They all had to use hashiramas cells to even be able to use it even madara. Had to steal hashiramas cells to use it he was the only that could use it as if was natural.
I think moegi having wood release is cool, however i dont think she has the chakra reserves (at least rn) to really do anything. I think she should master 100 healings and get that mark on her forehead so she could store chakra in it and when its full she basically gets a chakra boost of like 10%- 15%. Also her combining sage mode with activating the 100 healings would be a really cool form
It makes Moegi more interesting, so I think it's closer to being a good idea. My problem with this is that her with wood release is kind of random. If we get an explanation and some early attempts of her training to use it, I'd be more okay with it.
Lucas Martinez I think they can basically make this make sense by saying she is like a 3rd or 4th cousin of the Senju and that her wood style is a weaker form that controls more flower like plants as to say trees.
I honestly thought that somebody like Sakura should get the wood release because I feel like even though her parents aren’t Shinobi the village was founded with the senju clan. Somebody had to have eventually also gotten would release. And it would’ve made sense because Sasuke having the sharigan and her having the wood release would’ve helped them to better control Naruto when it got to the point of his nine tail raging.
The thing is it was stated by Hiden and Kakazu that wood style isn’t a natural kkg that’s clan specific but a kkg that’s random. Anyone can be born with it it’s just a massive lottery unlike other clan specific kkg where it’s basically guaranteed for the most part unless you’re a hybrid.
Well it is rare to possess the ability to use wood release, it is not impossible. You do need to have an affinity for earth and water to a high degree. I’m going to say that she most likely reached a degree with earth and water to where she can use low tier wood jutsu. I don’t think you have to be related to Hashirama to use it but like the toad oil, makes it easier to develop. It was bound to happen where someone naturally became a wood release user.
Maybe at this point its just anyone who has earth and water chakra natures can just use wood release cause its just gettin stupid in my opinion but im not mad since i think we need more wood style users in the anime
I just want to hear what people have to say about this but I think chakra from the chakra tree & tailed beast are alien sources of power but nature energy has always been on earth as evidence by the sage creatures and I believe that safe creatures might have tried to teach but became withdrawn for reasons I don’t know but after kaguya came with chakra it made it possible for certain humans to actually go to the sages themselves and learn

Would be cool if Wood Style developed through only warring periods. And developed like Sage mode. As a way to learn, but only certain people learn in during certain conditions. -As in, during eras of war, there would be a potent ninja capable of manipulating the essence of all life. The trees. There is only one user per generation, it goes to the most capable leader who studies under the Shikkotsu Forest. -Users who found a way to work around this, as in Yamato who received his through experiments, it’s less potent and it’s vitality is diminished. Making it only as effective as normal elements. Whereas the original, being more Kekkai Genkai like. Would be a cool way to keep a cool ninjutsu relevant, rare, and renowned.

I think it's pretty simple to explain how someone would obtain Wood Release. 1. Hashirama cells/dna 2. Natural affinity for both water and earth (&maybe yin-yang release).

Hey just been rewatching some naruto moments. Just throwing a mini theory out there. What do people think about kashin koji being a member of the Uzumaki clan? I just feel like this clan never got any hype. Other nations literally banded together to wipe them out because they were to powerful. Not the Uchiha not that hyuga. They have members like Karin with her op ability. We know that nagato was a beast and that’s why he was able to use the rinnegan to the level he did. I know he doesn’t have white hair but that would be kind of a giveaway if he did. Could give some insight into borutos abilities. His Uzumaki heritage could be linked too his jougan. Just a thought. If not kashin koji who else would love to see a new bad ass Uzumaki
I think it's a bad idea because of the reasons you said and because it'd just seem like an asspull to either suddenly make her a Senju despite it never being acknowledged before (Tsunade never cared she had a living relative?! Hiruzen never noticed this despite her being one of Konohamaru's close childhood friends since they were little??) or to make her another Orochimaru experiment. It also makes Yamato more irrelevant as a character and I really love Yamato but in Boruto's canon he's been sidelined something *hard* and this pretty much takes away one of the very few things that could potentially make him relevant to the plot again just to arbitrarily give it to another character for no reason.
A lot of ppl say it's time for someone to develope their "flying rajin". Maybe it's the same with wood style. I don't mind seeing a different character developing their wood release without enhancements. Maybe it'll be a good addition later on in the series.
Tbh it doesn't really matter if she have wood release or not because I'm pretty sure she can do it like Hashirama could which is fine because there's more to Hashirama than just wood release.

The truth is that Moegi simply shouldn’t have wood release. Moegi is trash and wood release is the rarest and one of the most powerful and desired Kekkei Genkai in the world. Such addon is irrelevant and meaningless and should not exist. A trash ninja like Moegi casually having wood release is like a weak nobody such as Udon or Namida having bone manipulation or the Rinnegan, as another responder suggested.
I don’t really have a problem with it but I think they should explain how she has it and that if she has it she should be forced to use it in a notable way especially considering the issue of the Ōtsutsuki in the show. Like if her and Konohamaru were so fight side by side and they both were in sage mode that would be awesome. Idk what they would do with their teammate udon though they should give him some kind of power up to fight with them.
I'll probably be ok with her having it if we can some kind of explanation on how she got it, maybe she's a descendant of Hashirama and Yamato taught her how to use it. Could be a interesting mini arc or episode showing that.
If she doesn't have a vital role for later arcs then there's literally no point in her having Hashirama/Otsutsuki Clan/Asura's(in filler) Kekkei Genkai except for flexing her potential. If anything and yeah I understand Naruto has already too much power with the abilities, chakra, and kekkei genkai of all the 9 Biju along with his Uzumaki traits and use of Senjutsu, but Naruto should have some mild use with Wood Release because of his arm and he doesn't need to use it in battle since Yamato's is watching Orochimaru, Naruto can create wood and trees to help with the material to repair the village showing that ability doesn't need to be used for combat it can be used to help people.

Kinda weird that she has Wood style..But maybe Boruto world needs a Wood user..also maybe so that she and Konohamaru could maybe make some strong kids later on..Konohamaru and his friends were side characters at the naruto series so now giving them some power up/stuff to do is fine to me
When Naruto dies and Kurama goes to Boruto (even though I would much rather him go to Himawari), Moegi will be his Yamato, helping him control Kurama in times of stress. Of course, that's IF Naruto actually dies, maybe he saves the village by sacrificing himself, or maybe he gives Kurama to Boruto before he dies of age or something. I don't care too much, I just want Konohamaru to do something, he took out a Path of Pain as a kid, so hopefully he does something amazing other than just becoming the Eighth Hokage.
Why would they need to control kurama? He’s not against narutos family at all, he’s fine with them so he wouldn’t try taking control of boruto like when naruto was younger

I think its a great idea, i honestly think it's almost a plot hole that there are nearly no senju in Konoha, while there were dozens if not hundreds of Uchiha. Moegi being a senju descendant makes her more interesting and makes the lore make more sense.
If hashirama was the first one to get wood release, which means it was a random abnormaly/mutation, then why can't we assume Moegi got it randomly too? She doesn't have to be a distant relative of hashirama, or have had experimentations done on her
I don't think it's a bad idea, as she doesn't have to be as powerful or proficient as Yamato even. She could have more basic skills ala grass type moves from pokemon, where she can manipulate some types of trees or plants with a limited level of plant generated from chakra alone due to the high amounts usually needed.
I know Wood release was knows as the Kekkei Genkai of the Senju (specifically Hashirama as no other Senju was known to use the jutsu) but it seems to me that it’s technically just water and earth chakra combined. I would suspect a shinobi with both chakra natures and enough chakra control should be able to use the technique. I think it’s such a surprise because we don’t really know anything about Moegi and her lineage. A jutsu known to be only naturally used by the 1st Hokage now being used by someone with not much notoriety is odd but not too far fetched for me. I just feel like if they’re gonna give her Wood release let’s really see what she could do with it. I hope she’s at least better than Yamato.

That Wouldn't be possible because in order to use wood release naturally you need a lot of chakra hints why all the other users needed Hashirama cells and when they run out of Chakra their cells form a tree

Tbh, I don’t care about Moegi having Wood Release. It makes her bland and barely-even-side-character character a lot more interesting. However, I absolutely disagree with how they just randomly put it there though, if they gave it some gradual buildup, it wouldn’t have been such a terrible idea to give her Wood Release. Because here’s what I’m thinking, if they introduced her with Wood Release in Naruto then her team would have had a good backstory as to why her and her friends all miraculously just got put on the same team. Kishimoto could’ve set it up as the two clan-less friends of Konohamaru have special abilities, therefore put together on the same team and have a special instructor guiding them for their safety. And Kishimoto probably wouldn’t have had to do too much either, probably could’ve had the Sandaime mention it in passing or have 10 second scenes with Ebisu training Moegi with Wood Release. A good reason for why she has it, is something tricky to come up with though. We could go the basic route and say she was just very (I’m talking one in a billion very fortunate that skips a few centuries) fortunate in genetics and that’s all. Or there was still experimentation going on under Danzo’s supervision even though it was abolished, but it’s so discreet and well-hidden that not even the Sandaime has an inkling of knowledge about it. Very headcannony, but that’s just my take on this matter
If their going to give her wood style they should actually show her use it although I think maybe she can’t use it easily and it’s her last resort so maybe it will have to be a pretty powerful opponent

How young was Yamato when he was given the wood release ability, you made 2 points that are in direct conflict with what I just stated. You can't say that she was too young to have been experimented on and that she had to have gotten it through genetics yet Orichimaru's existence in the Boruto anime can say otherwise given what he was able to accomplish with Yamato
But what if Hashirama was not the only wood user in his time, what if there were other clans that could use wood jutsu, but they only showed Hashirama using wood style.

The wood release gene isn't a senju trait. In fact, it was exclusive to Hashirama since none of his relatives had access to it

I have thought for the longest time now that most of the Naruto fans and even most of the people in the Naruto Universe completely misunderstand wood release. I don't think wood release was that much more overpowered than any other combined element release. I think it was that Hashirama himself was stupidly overpowered. And I think he would have achieved the same levels of stupidly overpoweredness with any of the other elemental combination kekkei genkai's. But due to the scarcity of wood release and also the fact that the only person people knew of who had it was stupidly overpowered, I think he unknowingly and unintentionally caused a massive misconception in the Ninja World where they thought "wood release itself was the key to his godliness", rather than the fact that it was HIM HIMSELF that was godly (Literally).
I think someone like Yamato is your basic average wood release user and that Hashirama is just an exception among previous wood release users. I think the only reason they thought Yamato was underwhelming as a wood user is because he was being compared to A LITERAL GODCHILD.
Also in regards to all of the neat unique abilities to Wood release. Again I think this was Hashirama and his stupidly overpoweredness finding out all these neat tricks with the power he was working with. I think if he'd had lava release or boil release or etc he would have developed all sorts of other unique abilities that we've never seen anyone else discover before.
Ikr people thought Hashirama was handed out with a power up when he himself was actually the one that made wood release OP. Just like how Kakashi's sharingan reduces his chakra and power yet still was able to fight Zabuza, Hidan and Kaku at the same time, and Pain.

the rinnegan (or even the mangekyou) can control the beasts using gengutsu.. while the wood release can suppress their chakra.. wood in particular was the only element capable of controling the chakra of tailed beasts.. therefore people would have the assumption that its supposed to be the rarest element of all

Yamato when he tried to supress Naruto’s 9 tails chakra even eventually had trouble keeping it in check. Hashirama with his wood style was able to contain 9 actual tailed beats (not just a Jinchuriki in the 4 tails cloak), he was able to do everything else that he needed to do while still keeping them contained, and he could actually control them to a certain extent so I believe what you say about wood style being able to tame the tailed beats, but Hashirama’s genetics and him himself was able to break the limits of ordinary wood style

Wood style is less effective for him because he doesn't have the same chakra reserves as the First Hokage, and we see he gets easily tired out, much like Kakashi's sharingan wearing him out much easier than say Itachi or Sasuke. Wood release for sure was shown to absorb the life energy of the Nine Tails chakra mode when Naruto went into it towards the war arc, which lava style or some other style would not be able to absorb, because the product of those styles isn't a living cellular thing like a wood style creation that Hashirama or Yamato would use. So, wood style is special, but also not what made Hashirama OP, it was his ridiculous chakra reserves. :)

Wood Release was never exclusive to just Hashirama. He was just the only known person born with it. At the end of the day it's just a kekkei genkai as a result of water and earth combination.

My problem is that there was no build up or back story to her having it. We know from the kakashi anbu arc that Yamato's wood release was because of an experiment which was a=good, but this new chick was just given the jitsu
That act only appeared in the episodes 349-361. Yamato first appeared in Naruto Shippūden Episode #34. And right now the universe is a Boruto Episode #154.

Mokuton isn't simply a rare power that other characters have... aside from Hashirama himself, NO other character has just been "born" with it. It's a ridiculously hyped and OP ability that others have been experimented on extensively in hopes of replicating it. So the fact that fodder Moegi just casually has it is just a step down from Udon casually having a Rinnegan.
Make her a Senju, don't give her any feats beyond what Yamato did and add in some canon fluff that says wood style is Senju exclusive but not Hashirama exclusive (although Hashirama took it to its pinnacle). That would work. Look at Naruto, he didn't invent Shadow Clone jutsu but he is absolutely it's master and his own personal talent expresses it self in his son Boruto who obviously has a gift for Shadow Clone usage, several generations from now the Uzumaki of Konoha could very well be known as "The Shadow Clone Clan" with mythical stories about Naruto that aren't too dissimilar from what we hear about Hashirama.

Naruto STARTED with several hundred. It's an extremely impressive feat that even jounin couldn't safely do. Think about this, who else in the WHOLE series did MORE than 5 clones? How many of them were kids? Boruto could do it BEFORE he became a genin.

I was not surprised. The name Moegi itself is reference to wood, no matter how you translate it. I think it's pretty fine if she has just base wood release like Yamato. She had pretty impressive feats even back in Naruto, so we know she is a strong shinobi.

😅I'm sorry for the most part (especially after not commenting in like forever), but I'm gonna have go the opposite route on this one & say I personally believe this was a decently "good" idea. (Not necessarily for the Plot as much, but rather just to add a little more expansion to her character & overall the Wood Release itself)
Thru out the entirety of Naruto, I personally never really associated the Wood release as being something that was explicitly exclusive to just Hashirama or his Senju Clan😶. I simply just saw it as him just being very lucky to have achieved it. (Maybe he may have had some help due to some strong connection to nature or something, but for the most part I just think he got it by chance🤔, kinda like how Moegi has right now).
Yet anyhow, if they do end up having her show it later down the line, I am pretty sure they won't have her overly use it & running the risk of it being seen as nothing more than just another common ninja tool.

I think moegi having wood release is cool, however i dont think she has the chakra reserves (at least rn) to really do anything. I think she should master 100 healings and get that mark on her forehead so she could store chakra in it and when its full she basically gets a chakra boost of like 10%- 15%. Also her combining sage mode with activating the 100 healings would be a really cool form

The thing is it was stated by Hiden and Kakazu that wood style isn’t a natural kkg that’s clan specific but a kkg that’s random. Anyone can be born with it it’s just a massive lottery unlike other clan specific kkg where it’s basically guaranteed for the most part unless you’re a hybrid.
Well it is rare to possess the ability to use wood release, it is not impossible. You do need to have an affinity for earth and water to a high degree. I’m going to say that she most likely reached a degree with earth and water to where she can use low tier wood jutsu. I don’t think you have to be related to Hashirama to use it but like the toad oil, makes it easier to develop. It was bound to happen where someone naturally became a wood release user.
Moegi has wood style because they wanted to give the girl who's name means "young tree bud" the ability to make trees.

I just want to hear what people have to say about this but I think chakra from the chakra tree & tailed beast are alien sources of power but nature energy has always been on earth as evidence by the sage creatures and I believe that safe creatures might have tried to teach but became withdrawn for reasons I don’t know but after kaguya came with chakra it made it possible for certain humans to actually go to the sages themselves and learn

Would be cool if Wood Style developed through only warring periods. And developed like Sage mode. As a way to learn, but only certain people learn in during certain conditions.

-Users who found a way to work around this, as in Yamato who received his through experiments, it’s less potent and it’s vitality is diminished. Making it only as effective as normal elements. Whereas the original, being more Kekkai Genkai like.

I think it's pretty simple to explain how someone would obtain Wood Release. 1. Hashirama cells/dna 2. Natural affinity for both water and earth (&maybe yin-yang release).

Hey just been rewatching some naruto moments. Just throwing a mini theory out there. What do people think about kashin koji being a member of the Uzumaki clan? I just feel like this clan never got any hype. Other nations literally banded together to wipe them out because they were to powerful. Not the Uchiha not that hyuga. They have members like Karin with her op ability. We know that nagato was a beast and that’s why he was able to use the rinnegan to the level he did. I know he doesn’t have white hair but that would be kind of a giveaway if he did. Could give some insight into borutos abilities. His Uzumaki heritage could be linked too his jougan. Just a thought. If not kashin koji who else would love to see a new bad ass Uzumaki
I think it's a bad idea because of the reasons you said and because it'd just seem like an asspull to either suddenly make her a Senju despite it never being acknowledged before (Tsunade never cared she had a living relative?! Hiruzen never noticed this despite her being one of Konohamaru's close childhood friends since they were little??) or to make her another Orochimaru experiment. It also makes Yamato more irrelevant as a character and I really love Yamato but in Boruto's canon he's been sidelined something *hard* and this pretty much takes away one of the very few things that could potentially make him relevant to the plot again just to arbitrarily give it to another character for no reason.

A lot of ppl say it's time for someone to develope their "flying rajin". Maybe it's the same with wood style. I don't mind seeing a different character developing their wood release without enhancements. Maybe it'll be a good addition later on in the series.

The truth is that Moegi simply shouldn’t have wood release. Moegi is trash and wood release is the rarest and one of the most powerful and desired Kekkei Genkai in the world.
Such addon is irrelevant and meaningless and should not exist. A trash ninja like Moegi casually having wood release is like a weak nobody such as Udon or Namida having bone manipulation or the Rinnegan, as another responder suggested.
I don’t really have a problem with it but I think they should explain how she has it and that if she has it she should be forced to use it in a notable way especially considering the issue of the Ōtsutsuki in the show. Like if her and Konohamaru were so fight side by side and they both were in sage mode that would be awesome. Idk what they would do with their teammate udon though they should give him some kind of power up to fight with them.
I'll probably be ok with her having it if we can some kind of explanation on how she got it, maybe she's a descendant of Hashirama and Yamato taught her how to use it. Could be a interesting mini arc or episode showing that.
If she doesn't have a vital role for later arcs then there's literally no point in her having Hashirama/Otsutsuki Clan/Asura's(in filler) Kekkei Genkai except for flexing her potential.
If anything and yeah I understand Naruto has already too much power with the abilities, chakra, and kekkei genkai of all the 9 Biju along with his Uzumaki traits and use of Senjutsu, but Naruto should have some mild use with Wood Release because of his arm and he doesn't need to use it in battle since Yamato's is watching Orochimaru, Naruto can create wood and trees to help with the material to repair the village showing that ability doesn't need to be used for combat it can be used to help people.

Kinda weird that she has Wood style..But maybe Boruto world needs a Wood user..also maybe so that she and Konohamaru could maybe make some strong kids later on..Konohamaru and his friends were side characters at the naruto series so now giving them some power up/stuff to do is fine to me

When Naruto dies and Kurama goes to Boruto (even though I would much rather him go to Himawari), Moegi will be his Yamato, helping him control Kurama in times of stress. Of course, that's IF Naruto actually dies, maybe he saves the village by sacrificing himself, or maybe he gives Kurama to Boruto before he dies of age or something.
I don't care too much, I just want Konohamaru to do something, he took out a Path of Pain as a kid, so hopefully he does something amazing other than just becoming the Eighth Hokage.

I think its a great idea, i honestly think it's almost a plot hole that there are nearly no senju in Konoha, while there were dozens if not hundreds of Uchiha. Moegi being a senju descendant makes her more interesting and makes the lore make more sense.
If hashirama was the first one to get wood release, which means it was a random abnormaly/mutation, then why can't we assume Moegi got it randomly too? She doesn't have to be a distant relative of hashirama, or have had experimentations done on her

I don't think it's a bad idea, as she doesn't have to be as powerful or proficient as Yamato even. She could have more basic skills ala grass type moves from pokemon, where she can manipulate some types of trees or plants with a limited level of plant generated from chakra alone due to the high amounts usually needed.
I know Wood release was knows as the Kekkei Genkai of the Senju (specifically Hashirama as no other Senju was known to use the jutsu) but it seems to me that it’s technically just water and earth chakra combined. I would suspect a shinobi with both chakra natures and enough chakra control should be able to use the technique. I think it’s such a surprise because we don’t really know anything about Moegi and her lineage. A jutsu known to be only naturally used by the 1st Hokage now being used by someone with not much notoriety is odd but not too far fetched for me. I just feel like if they’re gonna give her Wood release let’s really see what she could do with it. I hope she’s at least better than Yamato.

That Wouldn't be possible because in order to use wood release naturally you need a lot of chakra hints why all the other users needed Hashirama cells and when they run out of Chakra their cells form a tree
If she just becomes a fodder part of the story then yes it would be stupid but if she plays a major part in the story like saving Konohamaru from Kara/jigen or battling urashiki or another otsutsuki member that comes to claim earth after naruto falls then she would be validated in them giving her earth style

Tbh, I don’t care about Moegi having Wood Release. It makes her bland and barely-even-side-character character a lot more interesting. However, I absolutely disagree with how they just randomly put it there though, if they gave it some gradual buildup, it wouldn’t have been such a terrible idea to give her Wood Release. Because here’s what I’m thinking, if they introduced her with Wood Release in Naruto then her team would have had a good backstory as to why her and her friends all miraculously just got put on the same team. Kishimoto could’ve set it up as the two clan-less friends of Konohamaru have special abilities, therefore put together on the same team and have a special instructor guiding them for their safety. And Kishimoto probably wouldn’t have had to do too much either, probably could’ve had the Sandaime mention it in passing or have 10 second scenes with Ebisu training Moegi with Wood Release. A good reason for why she has it, is something tricky to come up with though. We could go the basic route and say she was just very (I’m talking one in a billion very fortunate that skips a few centuries) fortunate in genetics and that’s all. Or there was still experimentation going on under Danzo’s supervision even though it was abolished, but it’s so discreet and well-hidden that not even the Sandaime has an inkling of knowledge about it. Very headcannony, but that’s just my take on this matter
If their going to give her wood style they should actually show her use it although I think maybe she can’t use it easily and it’s her last resort so maybe it will have to be a pretty powerful opponent

I dont have that much of a problem with it because she'd be the only person since hashirama to have it naturally, if its natural. I just would need a reasonable explanation. Maybe, in the anime, put in an episode or 2 explaining her development of wood style and dont make her just a freak of nature (lol get it) with it like hashirama was. Nobody will or should ever be hashirama level with it. Maybe make her yamato level or slightly less and have her grow to pass HIM. A couple unique jutsu (only A COUPLE) wouldnt be over doing it. How young was Yamato when he was given the wood release ability, you made 2 points that are in direct conflict with what I just stated. You can't say that she was too young to have been experimented on and that she had to have gotten it through genetics yet Orichimaru's existence in the Boruto anime can say otherwise given what he was able to accomplish with Yamato

That would be back tracking. It was already stated that he was the only one(naturally) multiple times.
