Hey Dom, great idea to mix up the tag questions. Love those Craig Smith albums and a crazy story behind the artist… man that guy had it tough. Keen to check out the Ithaca and Agincourt albums. Cheers, Jack
Thanks for this! Our tag started off as a joke, ended up actually having questions written for it, and look at it now! And great responses to all. Cheers.
I was listening to Flat Duo Jets when I started this video, and Dexter Romweber fits the sad tag as he passed in 2024. Nice mash-up, I did a couple of Block-Head's garage questions to replace a couple of the Punk tag prompts I couldn't answer.
Good idea to pick the cherries from this year’s vinyl tag mess. The Maitreya Kali LPs are my number one top wants, but I've never seen them as long as I've been collecting. Extremely rare. And speaking of rare, the Peter Howell and John Ferdinando albums are so good. I would love to have them, but I guess I have to keep on dreaming. Cheers!
Ah but Jonas, perhaps you consider these reissues for the Ithaca / Agincourt in this case. Even they are tough to get and how the hell are you going to locate those 1/99 copy UK records? Agincourt is my favorite but the Ithaca album is incredible too.
Dom this was a killer Best of Tag love the combination of tags you put together. Those Kink PYE 45s look minty. Kawaida Jazz record is definitely on my want list and that OG Don Cherry Brown Rice is monster record brother .
Hey Lovell, what up! Thanks my friend. The Kawaida is absolute top 10 jazz lp for me, probably even top 5. If I can upgrade to the original private press, I will earmark this Trip pressing for you which is pretty nice shape if I remember correctly.
Dom, I like this approach. Much more enjoyable when the 'tagee' wants to answer versus just going through the motions because it is on a list. Thanks, Chris
This Apocalypse is a big want of mine. Maybe 2025 will be good to me. The Craig Smith double lp is a favorite of mine. Loved the book too. I think that Mike Stax is currently working on a Gabor Szabo biography for some years now. Some snipets of it get published in Ugly Things a couple of years ago and it looks really promising. This Descendents was also probably my first online purchase, since it was so difficult to found one abroad irl bitd. Those shaddy SST repress make them almost impossible to valued so it was probably under 20 bucks. Great video!
Hello, thanks for commenting and great to hear from you. Interesting Stax is doing that bio. Wouldn't have expected that. I don't listen to that Descendents very often but I couldn't bring myself to sell it based on it being one of my first purchases. Cheers!
You can look up your ebay purchases through your email, unless you purged your account. I can still go back and see my 2 first ebay purchases were John Fahey and Autechre, in 1998
l made about a dozen ebay orders from 98-02, once l got burned that was it... pretty sure l had a hotmail too that is long forgotten... aah the early days of the future
I was trying to find my hotmail account but can't remember it. But I found out you can request your lifetime ebay history going back to your first sale or purchase
@ that was indeed me. Will be playing the song in a few weeks. After this Sunday I’m off air for two weeks because I am moving. Looking forward to April 4th!
Wait... if you've created a new mix of questions from existing vinyl tags you might inadvertently have just created a new vinyl tag! 😂 They bred like gremlins, you have to be careful Dom! Any reason to see your collection is a good reason to me, you had me at Brown Rice ❤ Peace sir ✌️
Kawaida is much stronger than Brown Rice, both 1975, went under the radar until 10 or so yrs ago. As did Vernal Equinox, when we were spinning Hassell's Editions vinyls ad nauseam in the early 80s I don't think we even knew it existed.
@@seekingathread You are correct, so many reissues of it I must have got confused. I wish I'd bought a few copies back in the 80s, when both the US and UK versions were relatively cheap. Brown Rice I let go after a week or so, not ''good enough'' for my Jazz crate.
That Daniel Humair library record sounds cool, I'll have to check it out.
I like the way you Frankensteined this list. I'm definitely envious of those Kinks picture sleeves.
There are no rules! You know it's funny I don't remember those Kinks 45s sounding particularly great but those sleeves...
Thanks for the Don Cherry album suggestion. I snagged a copy of Organic Music Society. Love your unique collection and channel.
Awesome, that is an all-time record for me.
Hey Dom! That King Sunny Ade is a new one to me and it’s really hitting the spot 🙏
It's a stunner my friend, so far out too.
ha, didn't expect that for the ebay entry-- my daughter loves that album.

Nice, they are beautiful. and I did a video about them as well.

Haha, the best things often start as a gag. That fudge tunnel pressing was eye-opening(ly) bad!

Yes I remember Romweber. Died suddenly if I understood correctly.

@ dude I really appreciate that brother it’s great hearing from you
I’m so glad I found your channel. You’re opening my mind to so much great stuff.
Happy to be doing so and thanks for passing that along

This is a great take on vinyl tags, much more interesting.
I like this exercise of aggregating the questions. Apocalypse needs a reissue sooner than later. Even the CD is nearing 100 bucks.
I have it on good authority to say a reissue of Apocalypse is indeed coming
Way fun, Dom, very cool tag. Like the approach! Might have to take a queue from you :-)

Love that Corley lp!

i'd have to find a way to log into my 25 year old hotmail account

@@juliusjabbar1011 you snobs, I still use my hotmail as my main email, ever since 1997. ^^

Hey there, love your channel and your radio show. Your band planning to play in Rochester in the future?
Ah perhaps it was you Jason who purchased the digital ep. Yes we are scheduled to play Rochester April 4th, more to come on that.
@ that was indeed me. Will be playing the song in a few weeks. After this Sunday I’m off air for two weeks because I am moving. Looking forward to April 4th!

You make a good point sir. What have I done. And here I though I was just being selective.
My take is - dub is the psych of the reggae world, and Jamaican Deejay culture paved the way for hip hop
No question. There is certainly a psychedelic aspect to dub
So now does this make a totally new vinyl tag Dom. I miss when Andrew did them.
Haha Steve your the 2nd person to say this so I guess you have a point!
Wish I had seen this before I recorded my 2025 Vinyl Tag. Oh well…
Because it was so good you mean making yours null and void????

ah Mike but the first version of Kawaida came out in 1970. But both are worth our time!
