Great to hear that Robert!! Jail is a "catch and release and catch again" type system. I've heard that 80% of inmates end up returning eventually.

I spent 14 years locked up. I watched my kids grow up from behind bars. My parents brought them to see me once a month. I wrote letters home as well. Hearing this video it really brought back a lot of things. I got out in 2010 and went to college got 2 degrees while working. I am currently a lead in a lumber moulding plant, met a wonderful woman who I married, got to see my son get married and I am getting to watch my grandson grow up, my daughter and I had a falling out but life isn’t always perfect. I enjoy and relate to a lot of your music. Keep strong and positive. Respect ✊

3:25 choked me with tears ... oh my god! This is such a heart warming message to your baby... I write my kiddos a letter every year, put it in their box and wait till they're over the age and living on their own to read, all the struggles and the different times we had growing up and being a single mom... No matter how difficult it has been, doesn't take away the experience we had together.

Being a good person is probably the most important thing in life. I wish more people would agree to disagree and not take someone else’s opinion as a personal threat. It’s OK to disagree with someone, just don’t let THEIR opinions affect YOUR mood and actions. I do wish our fellow Americans would come together, stop fighting and let’s all move forward,, together.

Ya know, I don’t always feel like I understand you at times as a fan of your music, BUT! As an ex parole officer I 100% get the emotions and struggles you encountered from that life occurrence. And I respect you one thousand percent in that capacity. Society doesn’t understand how much prison can challenge and change someone. Just from the stress and dysfunction that becomes “normal”:when you’re in there. The work you did upon release is nothing short of amazing. I respect you for the effort you focused within your life to make things positive for both yourself and your son. Starting over after prison is hard. People don’t understand how daunting the challenge can be. So even on the days I don’t understand something lyrically, or i question a behavior I witness....I am still 100% a fan who respects the heck out of you.

Huge respect! As my youngest son enters into the corrections system, I am greatly saddened. I did all the right things wrong and he chose to listen to his buddies who only used him. I have 3 years to wait for my son to come home and I'm afraid of what he's going to be. Knowing that he thrives on the attention of the wrong people, I am literally scared. I pray he figures it out as I have tried to teach him things since he's been locked up. Thank you for all of your encouraging words and I still hope my kid will follow and listen to you.

I ended up doing 23 straight. My Dad cried when he came to pick me up. I did too. I've been out since 2013. I've been busting my ass for everything. Damn Adam.. that was one of the most heartfelt things I've ever heard. You can tell from that letter how much you love and miss your son. And what a big heart you have. You and your boy are lucky to have each other 😊. Thank you so much for sharing that with us

That is a real heartfelt letter. I always wrote my boys when they were locked up. Anyone one can pick up a phone but it takes a real person to pick up a pen n paper n write heartfelt shot to those going thru hard or short time, keep it real a cal

This was great and it kinda reminded me how I grow up because there were times when I was a kid that me and my mom barely had the money to keep the lights on and we went from living in a small two-bedroom one-bathroom house living in a nice triple wide trailer

This brings up something I actually keep in my wallet, my brother was killed in an explosion. I keep the obituary in my wallet to this day.
I've been at the bottom as well and climbed my way out.
Anyone out there can , anyone. Never take no for an answer.
