These miscommunications happen! In Japan I was staying at an expensive onsen resort in kinosaki onsen town. The resort had a fancy kaiseki cuisine restaurant which I tried to go to the second evening. When I got there, the staff rejected me and told me I wasn’t allowed to eat there.
