Yes Brother Ray, they are a blast! Definitely more fun with more people doing it simultaneously. Not nearly as durable as FPV quads. Once you bump something, these boats break very easy
I want to ask, if my boat udi05 has changed the esc 120a flycolour only, my battery uses 4s 2200mah, why is the rotation not fast? or should I use two 4s batteries to make a T-plug Y wire harness.. please guide me, I'm from Malaysia just learning
got the udirc 022 basucly the same boat with some more aluminium on it, 4s Li-Hv 1800mah 65-130c.. only canged the prop to a Graupner 45mm prop (Graupner 2317.45) -> 60km/h (38mp/h)
This weekend I will test it out with a brand new 5s pack and hopefully calmer water. I notice you tubers getting the best speeds have almost a glass surface to go across. I have not had that luck yet! Lol. If I can get 45 mph out of it on 5S with the stock motor shaft, and propeller, I will be satisfied for a while. I’ve just seen too many problems when they go to 6S. Lol. So far my temps are very low. I did notice that the shaft was dry 5S for the day. So you had to constantly lubricate it after each use
So far this Diamond hobby esc for only $44 on Amazon has been great and comes with a cap pack installed. It was only 85deg running full bore on 5s, so I’m confident 6s is no problem

@@scottgivens27 Sounds great! Just ordered a WL916 this week. Already have a 4s battery upgrade in mind and some other future plans for this boat. This will be my first grown up RC item since the 90s. Reading about Lipo battery safety. What do you recommend is a good way to store your batteries?
I have ran this thing many times on 4s HARD! It’s a 4s boat 💯. Electronic we’re cool after testing my friends boat on 4s as well. You MUST GREASE THE FLEX SHAFT after every use!!! Other than that, you will be at 30mph on stock setup with no issues
The newer model has a hose already connected to the rudder, so swapping to a new one was just a matter of disconnecting the hose from plastic one to the metal. My friend who bought his a year ago, had the water pickup line underneath the boat. You would have to disconnect that tube and seal the hole. Hopefully the tube is long enough to reach the new metal rudder.
@@scottgivens27 Yeah you're right boss. Mine came exactly how yours looks with the hose already attached to the rudder. IM just concerned the metal rudde3r water pick up isn't as efficient as the stock water pick up since the rudder holes are way smaller. Have you noticed a diff in temps? She's currently fully stock and just ordered a 4s battery.
Crazy 5 s or 6 s taking a huge chance to blow up your boat me ima follow the rules guy I only upgrade my arrow 5 to a 4s if I want 5 s 6s I’ll upgrade the boat I’ll pay the 300 to 600 dollars for stock boat of 5 s 6 s the arrow is ok at 4 s but no higher yall crazy not me I ain’t got the balls to blow up my boat
I never own one. But it looks like a lot of fun. 👍🙏👍🙏

Did you use stock receiver/transmitter?

Did you try 5s on the stock esc? I thought stock esc was 100 amp as well?thanks
I believe my stock was 60a rated. Works fine on my buddies Arrow with 4s all day
What rudder did you use part number where'd you get it match up to other udi boats with a metal thanks

Amazing boat!
Any future plans for it?

Here is what 4s stock is like along with temps afterwards

Knowing you Scott, this might degenerate into custom hulls and pouring epoxy, hahaha.
Yep! And with my custom 3D designer from Canada, the mods are endless!! 😂
How did you set up the hose from the rudder? Looks good

Thanks Brother Dragon! How are you?
@@scottgivens27 it's all good. we have a ban on flights. the fines are large, and there are a lot of informers.
