    I want to thank you for the tutorial on using the patinas. I ordered these a few years ago but could never get a tutorial how to use. After watching i went to my studio and tried. I am pleased. Thanks again

    Think you for the tip on doing a false rivet. Looks great. The colored piece is beautiful. Can’t wait to try this.

    Are these patinas permanent once dried or do you need to heat set them? Also do you need to add a clear coat to protect? Can these be used on any type of metal clay? Thank you

      Hi Lorri, these patinas are permanent once dried. They can be used with any metal. You can use the Vintaj Glaze to seal and protect. You can find this here: www.cooltools.us/searchresults.asp?Search=vintaj+glaz&Submit=Search

    Thanks for another great video. If you don''t use the Black Max and put the Vintag colors right over the silver, will you get a brighter look?

    • @cooltoolsvideos
      @cooltoolsvideos  6 років тому

      Hi Paulette, yes - you would most likely get a brighter look. You can also adjust the amount of layers of Vintaj on the earring to create a brighter look. Hope this helps!

    Does this method work for polymer clay? If you want to do your clay, do you have to have a dehydrator?

    • @cooltoolsvideos
      @cooltoolsvideos  6 років тому

      Hi Rose, Vintaj patinas are for metals only. You do not have to have a dehydrator when using metal clay. You can let the clay air dry before putting it into the kiln. Hope this helps!

      Hi Debhora, yes, you can use alcohol inks as well for coloring. Thanks for watching!

    Hmmm... You start by listing the things we need, then you tell us to use a bunch of things you did not list, a dehydrator, a kiln, a tumbler (what do you mean by tumbler, anyway)?

    • @cooltoolsvideos
      @cooltoolsvideos  3 роки тому +1

      Hello, a tumbler is a machine that polishes your jewelry pieces for you using stainless steel shot. You can find one here: www.cooltools.us/Lortone-3lb-Rotary-Tumbler-USA-p/brn-401.htm
      Hope this helps, and if you have any questions in getting started in metal clay we're always happy to help!

    Can you use a regular oven?

    • @cooltoolsvideos
      @cooltoolsvideos  6 років тому +1

      Hi Rose, EZ960 has to be fired using a kiln.

    Good and detailed demo, thank you. You have beautiful hands. Some feedback:
    20:20 - Camera view of polished piece should be top down. Cannot see much from this angle.
    20:33 - Show closeup not wide angle. Cannot see the enameled pieces detail.
    20:46 - Acetone in a plastic cup? It will eat up the plastic. Use glass.
    Your oversized ring is lovely, but is distracting in a DIY video with closeups of your hands.
    The silver drop earrings were beautiful by themselves. This fake enamel by Vintaj is garbage. Absolutely garbage. You might as well use nail polish. This is not enamel and a mockery of the jewelry that was so carefully made. Don't sell out to such rubbish. Either demo good products or be known as a peddlar of junk products. This is not jewelry making. It is a deplorable deviation from real quality. I'm disappointed in Cool Tools for selling junk.
    Hey Cool Tools! Make jewelry products, not crafting junk for the lazy people who want instant gratification. And by the way, loading this with 6 ads is also extremely annoying. Not coming back and not buying your tools. QUALITY OR NOTHING. MEDIOCRITY IS NOT WELCOME.
