It's exactly what I need to do on my Scion iQ engine. One of the oil control valve is sipping a bit. it's a just O-ring on valve needs to replaced. Thank you for tutorial.
thanks for watching..the vvti solenoid in the video is not really dirty, the video is only a demonstration on how to clean it. yes it is interchangeable..
Hi my son has the same car , it uses a lot of oil as well and on cold start up it rattles for a while could cleaning these possibly help cure the problem? Cheers for any help on this matter. Ps even though it burns a lot of oil would you still recommend changing the oil every year ? He does approximately 2000 miles Ps great video’s really appreciate them 👍
Thanks for watching..the video is only a demonstration on how to clean it..but this engine is very clean beacause ill do the service every 6 month..this engine 1NR-FE is known to have a very high oil consumption..i think toyota will not give you a schedule maintenance for the vvti valve, they will just let you change it if something goes wrong on the vvti system.
@@s777 yes, but the car in the video has no oil consumption since I bought it 6 years ago..I change the oil every 6,000 miles and only use 0W-20 castrol edge...
Can you also do a video on flushing out the coolant?
yes, will do that..thanks for watching
@@jlsetnuperwhen will you be doing video please as I will wait to follow as you are always thorough with your work?

No longer working from the inside what to do
Can you do a video on how to change the gearbox oil as well as replacing the crankshaft sensor please?
Noted..thanks for watching
Why do you need to clean these and what are the signs of one failing
You need to clean the OCV valve if you change your oil once a year, so that the shaft will work properly and to make your engine fuel efficient..
@@jlsetnuper This is the first time i hear that.
Please do a video on replacing the camshaft sensor as I get the code P0016
thanks for watching..camshaft sensor has only one bolt above the cylinder head...pls check this video ua-cam.com/video/_Tklb_h2oWI/v-deo.html

no, cleaning this will not cure the problem..your car has a piston ring problem..
great video, is this issue likely to cause excessive oil burn?
thanks for watching..no, excessive oil burn cause by a wear of the piston ring and cylinder wall..vvti affects fuel efficency and engine power..
Sir How about d, VVT-i strainer/filter? Location of VVT i
thanks for watching...there is none on this engine, I cannot find it on the toyota parts catalog..

Is that really necessary? It looks like they were clean to begin with. Is this on the recommended maintenance schedule from Toyota?

@@jlsetnuper Thanks for replying. Everyone that watches your videos knows that you take great pride and do a very good job on their maintenance.
