I’ve been buying ton bags of firewood since late April/May. Now sitting with 7 bags & plan to get 3 more. £45 a bag. It’s fantastic. The best firewood to burn is free, yes, but the second best is cheap!
i just bought 1 cubic meters of stacked dry firewood (all hardwood mostly maple and beech and oak) for 60 quid which great deal at least where i live! i already have mixed firewood stack from pruning trees in my garden and wood i saw on the side of the roads that the council leaves behind after thinning out the trees that are close to the road.

That's great, you're right free the best way. So many people leave it until it's really expensive. Crazy....

Sounds like you got it spot on. Always better to get it sorted early. Most people don't.🎩
