Absolutely brilliant, where I live in Scotland, if you are near a young gull the parents will dive at you, they can be quite intimidating and frightening as the just miss your head. Great job done though. Kind regards from Scotland
Yea, they are very aggressive. They dive bomb me when I'm on chimneys as well I just ignore them .if you start flapping your hands around. You'll end up falling off 😅. Hard work getting out 💪
Well done you👍
Thank you.👍👍👍👍
Great work, brother!
Thank you brother.👊👊
You Are A Blessing! Thank you 🙏🏻 💕

i just bought 1 cubic meters of stacked dry firewood (all hardwood mostly maple and beech and oak) for 60 quid which great deal at least where i live! i already have mixed firewood stack from pruning trees in my garden and wood i saw on the side of the roads that the council leaves behind after thinning out the trees that are close to the road.
Sounds like you got it spot on. Always better to get it sorted early. Most people don't.🎩
these stoves are very common in denmark and they give off a wonderful heat as well!! easy to take apart for cleaning and burns efficiently. ive got a scan fire in my house and its horrible so i prefer these morsø stoves
Yes they are lovely. I do like working on them. The customer was saying it gets so hot. They all wear t-shirts in the winter.😅
perhaps the stove is too big for the house, my scan fire in the living room is rated 5 kilowatt and it heats the living room up to 26-30 degrees celsius and the dining room and entrance hall to about 21-23 degrees celsius. we go through 2 cubic meters of firewood each winter so in my opinion it is not bad fuel economy
@@DanishSpeakerChannel yes its definitely too big for the room. It's only a small bungalow. He's going to get bricks inside to make it smaller inside. Sounds like you've got yours spot on.🎩
I’ve been buying ton bags of firewood since late April/May. Now sitting with 7 bags & plan to get 3 more. £45 a bag. It’s fantastic. The best firewood to burn is free, yes, but the second best is cheap!
That's great, you're right free the best way. So many people leave it until it's really expensive. Crazy....

Thanks, free again.🐦
well done Zachary, like the new format... guess you don't come to Thanet but I would certainly welcome you and your brushes.

Thank you. Ha[pp[ened to me. Your Video gave me the solution to a stuck brush - mattached to three trods. Worked a treat. As you say =- its all about "gfeel" and gentle twisting - anti-clockwise for my rods. Thank you once again.
Glad I could help 👊👊
Did one of these yesterday, awful job. Would love to see your technique for removal. To add to the difficulty it has a second metal which sits in position above the baffle! Another needlessly complicated design. Agree with all your other comments.
Brute strength. These are the worst and a bit of luck. The best way is to take the sides out first and then drop the baffle plate down. Do the same when fitting it back together. Baffle plates first then the sides. You can just lift the baffle plate to one side and it should drop down. Without moving the sides, but you have to move brackets. But whichever way you do it, it's a nightmare. Really a two man. But only space for one. I'm going to do a new video on how to take it out and back again. Going to have my son record it. You'll be able to check it out. But I feel your pain, these really should have an inspection hatch. Make life so much easier.🎩
Just studying up on this job, I understand there are Alan Key screws just under top plate, and easier to simply remove the top. Maybe check if this is possible as part of your video.
Yes you're right and taken out base first helps. I will add everything in. They've changed them now as well. Lot easier the new ones. My videos are going to be completely different from August. I'm not recording them, so you will be able to see everything.
Awesome video

I've no idea mate, but it is. I made the video and I've done a lost of them. You can check on Google. Haha, I just did. I've been sweeping 24 years now.
treated is fine.. just don't let the smoke leak into your house.. I agree though: I leave a good bit of ash in the bottom as insulation; to keep the coals off of the bottom.
Yes you're right. Leaving a bit of ash helps you get more for your money with the logs. 🎩🎩
Couldn't see what you did.. But we got a really good look at that front leg and it was great
Thank you, I'm getting better with the videos. Got other ones that are better, when it comes to baffle plates.see more clearly. Thank you. 🎩🎩

@@zacharysweeps5169 Your welcome mate nice to listen to someone who knows there stuff 👍👍
Applied this stuff on an old paint-stripped blacksmith made Suffolk door latch. Then smeared vegetable oil on it afterwards for a beeswax type seal, and cooked it in the oven at 200 degrees C for an hour. End result is an authentic old finish that doesn't stain your hands. Fantastic stuff!
Hi zach, Whats the best flue cowl for my wee log burner? Its in a garage and our drive always gets windy most days. Its a 4.5kw log burner
If you got a twin wall pipe. Aspiromatic cowl. If it's a chimney pot. A brewer anti downdraft cowl.
@@zacharysweeps5169 it will be single skin flue is what ill be getting With twin wall through the osb roof
Hello Zachary, thanks for your tips, i'm running our wood stove for the first winter, i tend to run mine with the vents open so it burns hotter and hopefully brings down the deposits on the flue liner... is that wrong? it is difficult to assess how bad the deposits are during the first winter of burning. I do, as you advise, leave the ash in the bottom of the fire. Any advice would be appreciated. thank you
Hiya, sounds like you're doing alright. Keep up the good work. Just get it swept at the end of when you finished using it. Regards Zachary 🎩
@@zacharysweeps5169 Thanks a lot Zachary, appreciate your response very much. all my best, was my plan to get it swept at the end of the burning season so I can understand how my burning is going... cheers
What the best stove for coal.
MORSO
great tips and insight
I have one in my 1928 former farm cottage, though I don’t know when it was installed. The manufacturers say they’re designed for use with coal rather than logs, hence the grate and airflow from below. I prefer to burn wood, but only coal will keep the fire in overnight. It needs replacement firebricks fairly often, luckily spares are still readily available, it also burns through grates if a bed of wood ash accumulates. I have thought of replacing it with a modern stove with doors but every winter it does the job well enough.
You kept saying it's the door, it's the door. it's the door. But what about the door causes the stove to move?
I have do the same I put a bit of W/D first and clean up no scratching on granite I do this in summer shut down & have chimney sweep over & a certificate & inspection of unit... thanks for your tips very good eye opener on log burner muti leveing ash in ...
I’d check for an escape tunnel underneath.
All these real complicated multi layer chimney liner setups around the world... here in Finland the most common type is a half brick by half brick square chimney single brick layer in wall thickness no liners just bare brick and multiple chimneys in a square together our house has 12 in total in a 4x3 configuration some for ventilation others for fireplaces.
It's a difficult one, best checking where information is coming from. Every country is different.. UK not in Europe. I'm in the UK.
What a beautiful fireplace.
Isn’t a heat proof mastic better on the cracks and joins ?
How would you advise to go about removing the rust...? Had same problem, got it all dried out. And swept...does the baffle move freely? like forward and back?
Elbow grease. Really they shouldn't have left it for so long. This baffle plate came out. But some don't, they expand when wet. Break it and get a new one if it won't come out.
Baffle plate is fine...think he has replaced it incorrectly
@@clairetrimby111 ,it should be easy to fit properly. It normally just sits on top of the two side ones. If you haven't had it swept for a while, get it swept. The chimney sweep will know how to put it back, regards Zachary 🎩
It was the sweep that put it back wrong 😳🤦🏻♀️
@@clairetrimby111 , you need to get him back. Regards Zachary 🎩
Love the videos. I’ve always left the ash on the grate as I used to notice all the hot embers just fall through into the tray, so that makes sense to me. I’ve never tried compacting it though, so I’ll try that next 👍
How wound you sweep that flue, it locks awkward to seal up ?
The plate opens right up, you can easy get brush up. You don't have to hold it. It's got hooks on the side on that pole. Keeps it open fully. I was pointing out that you can make it a baffle plate as well. If you get more hooks at the top of the pole.👍👍
sorry i meant to say looks awkward, was asking how you would seal up the flue @@zacharysweeps5169
@@cooking23 you sheet up front of fire. Get your brush in flue first.
Great video, I've got 2 open fires, I'm going to fit 2 of these.
@@roystonvehicles9129 it will make a massive difference.
Thank you, very nice video and beautiful church
Couldn't really tell how much kindling there was 'tween paper and logs, didn't seem to be enough. There seemed to be a fair bit of coal/charcoal under the grate, from a previous fire, that should've gone on top of the kindling. Ideally those bigger logs should have a greater angle on them.
It was the only way. Most of the stuff under grate was soot and it was still hot. It wouldn't have worked. . The plan was to get fire going. Logs was moved once it was all alight. Drawing well and the customer was happy.
Nice video zac looks even better in the rain love the rain
No one stopped the Romans from invading the country, they lived here for around 400 years
I think you will find, I'm right. I know my history. Twice they were stopped. you should check first before committing.

@@macraghnaill3553 . Just ask Google.
@@zacharysweeps5169 I'm asking you!
I did not know that one can burn coal and wood together. I vaguely recall that there is some issue about mixing coal smoke with even the little moisture found in seasoned wood. Perhaps it depends on the type of coal?
Yes you can mixed it up.🎩
Most informative Mister Sweeps. Thank you
What's the difference in the blue and red rods 🤔
It's only for me. I used to have all blue and if I was talking to a customer, I would forget how many rods I put up. Some cowls can come off very easily.so I have three different colours and I know if I'm near top,so to go slow,I don't knock the cowl off.🎩
It raises the pH of the soil because it's alkaline ...so if you are looking to have slightly acidic soil for citrus trees or blueberries Or most vegetables and such prefer a slightly acidic soil ...wood ash will alter that and make it more alkaline ...figs like it alkaline, so that works ...alternately if your soil is too acidic you could buffer it by adding wood ash So first you must know exactly what you want to achieve ...and what the existing pH of your soil is or you could mess up your existing plants
You're spot on, I've already done a video on this subject. You should check it out.👍👍
Do you not use rotary at all buddy? I do some of these into clay and the rotary brush will fit both flue sizes.
No I don't, I'm going to get one. Haha, I'm still stuck in the way I was taught. They look like they could do the job with ease.. but you are right I do need to invest in one. I probably do between 700 to 800 a year and I only need help on a couple of them. Hard to justify paying all that money. But I've watched a few videos and they look good.👍👍
@@zacharysweeps5169 yeah I get ya! The initial outlay is the worst but once you have a kit it's only wear and tear you have to pay out for. Downside is that the rods don't last as long as the manual ones.
@@thechimneyman-uk that's was I thinking, but I should just suck it up and get one.👍
Another great video. I turn my fan around so it is facing the back/pipe and sitting on the front of the stove, seems to work better.
