- Michigan State Basketball's defeat of Michigan, 114-63 on March 4, 2000. This game was the final home game for MSU seniors Mateen Cleaves, Morris Peterson, AJ Granger, and Steve Cherry. In this game, Mateen Cleaves set the Big Ten's all-time and single game assist records.

jamall crawford was suspended for this game and the rest of season for having lived with a family in a better neighborhood in what the ncaa now allows . 13-1 with crawford and 5-16 without. Izzo showed how big a prick he is by running up the score. I hate him.
It's a rivalry game. You're allowed to run up the score. It's not MSU's job to stop MSU. Apparently UofM thought it was which is why they did nothing lol.

they took cleaves out with over 4 minutes left...he could have easily put in another put in another 5 assists at that rate...dude played 3/4ths of the game but it was a good move by izzo

I loved watching this game! So sweet, I have just no words. This was such an awesome team. Can't wait for the game tonight at the Breslin. MSU will pull out the victory. U-M is probably a STILL salty about this beat down.

@WolverineDevotee I'm a Spartan, but I have a lot of good friends in Ann Arbor so I'm not totally bias. From a Wolverines standpoint, this was a disappointment. You guys took a share of the Big Ten regular season, got crushed by OSU and then lost in the first round. Michigan should be in the Sweet 16 right now. You guys are that good of a team. But I guess it's alright, because the rest of the Big Ten is representing. Also, the season started with UNC/MSU and will end with UNC/MSU. Go Spartans

@WolverineDevotee what i'm trying to say is that michigan's road record is 2-6, with one two point win against low ranked purdue, and a win against nobody team oakland, and losses to a few other low ranked teams.

first off, duke is overrated, always have been. i could rally up a team of 5 star long range shooters and one big guy and shoot the three all day. it's not that hard.

@WolverineDevotee Probably because McGary is struggling to qualify, which is a widely known fact. If McGary does not qualify, that is a huge blow to ya. As far as a little fear...just look at our top 5 class coming in,and maybe following that up with the #1 overall class for 2013. No fear, just stating fact.
I don't think 1 season where Michigan swept MSU in a season (2010-11) changes the tide of the in-state rivalry. Last season both teams split their games and both shared the Big Ten regular season title, but MSU went on to beat OSU in the B1G Tourney while UM got beat bad by OSU in the semis of that tourney and lost to Ohio in the 1st round of the NCAA Tourney. MSU lost in the Sweet 16 to UL. Michigan will probably be the better team this year, but that doesn't change the tide of the programs

As an aside I actually prefer blowing out and demoralising the competition with sheer dominance as opposed to having to rely on late game heroics as I find it even more satisfying just kicking ass and letting the competition know that we or I am the best.

Have to resort to low mannered insults to deflect that fact you were not smart enough to go to UM and have to live thru their sports program in order to get satification. But that's ok, being happy with a 4th place finish and a 3rd round blowout is why you are a Wolverine grad and I'm a Spartan Alumnus who isn't satisfied with anything less then a Final Four trip.
