I'm Mexican and I'm not offended by this movie. If you truly know Mexicans & Mexican-Americans and they're not just a stereotype to you, you'd know that not all of us do menial jobs. But those who do, take pride in their work and do it with dignity and sacrifice for their children, so what's there to be offended about? The exploitation of their labor is what I find offensive!
well put, I still need to watch this movie but I think about it from time to time like today when I read a valedictorian with a full scholarship to Yale gave a graduation speech and said she's undocumented---that was brave of her
They are some of the most hardworking people. The ones who are less fortunate will try to earn money to drivers at traffic lights by selling stuff (here and in Mexico). Compared to them, I see a lot of poor people here just straight up ask for money with a sign.
This is a great movie. Satire--yes, but also shows the economic impact of immigrants to this country. It shows that family is much more than the color of your skin.
WTF? Nobody is against immigrants as long as they are LEGALLY HERE. I wouldn't be surprised if you were a small business owner that hires illegals yourself and benefits from the cheap labor exploiting them and then comments about how you are "friends" with them all while taking advantage of them for lower labor costs. Get real dude, I'm Mexican-american and have personally seen the hypocrisy of most White Americans, they'll tolerate Latinos as long as they get to rule over them and exploit them for cheap labor, but when roles are switched and it's them following orders from a Latino/ Latina boss the hatred and true feelings can be felt.
I have not yet seen this movie, but getting ready to do so. And honestly it does not matter how many people hate us immigrants, without us there would be a heavy impact on the economy and the U.S would not be the same. No matter how many may disagree, it's the truth!
I completely agree... this whole country is based on immigrants. I'm sure if people took a step back and look they would see their ancestors came from europe, asia, latin america, etc..
***** You're so weird. Oh and by the way I'm not Mexican. You do know that there are other immigrants here that come from all over, not just Mexico. Smh.
I think this movie has a good meaning behind all the jokes and the "offensiveness" I think if anything it should make other people see how stupid they can be bc some of them really do act like people in this movie
Everyone should see this film now! Cause this is really happening!!! God help us if we loose our wonderful immigrants who come to the US to work at jobs that most Americans refuse to take on
Bullsh*t. Stop telling that lie. Mexicans have taken abusive advantage of America. Hijacking long standing American business only to hire only their own discriminating against other non Mexicans. Stealing, scamming and shutting down businesses. I've see it happen to two in my neighborhood. There are more. They're not taking the jobs that nobody wants but the ones that belong to others. How, by harassing people who have been on their jobs for decades only to suddenly have a problem with 'good' employees trying to get them fired so they can hire another one of them! That's how. Happened to my friend.
Filmtress Mu I see very few “NON MEXICAN” gardeners , fruit pickers, etc. and honeslty I don’t believe a privileged person will ever go and ask to pick fruit all day long in the scorching sun from sun up to sun down. simple facts
Im black this movie should be called a day without the people that do the jobs we don’t wanna do! Mexican people can be doctors and lawyers! Not just grass cutters and dishwashers foh!
📡🙋They should make: "A Day Without An Avatar/Body", for those arrogant Arcangels who feel superior to everyone else. What would The Spirits Do, If All The Avatars/Bodies disappeared? If All The Spirits No longer had any Human Bodies to posses or Any Bodies At All, What would The Spirits Do? 🙋📡 Literally, What would The Arcangels Do If All The Avatars/Disappeared from those Spaceships and everywhere else?? ‼️💁 "A Day Without An Avatar/Body" ‼️📡
The discussion about brexit brought me here. Eastern European immigrants left the UK, were expelled, and the country is working on just two cylinders. Burns fuel but does not advance.
I never understood this movie. My Spanish teacher (who was Mexican) showed it to us during class in high school. We were in a small town in Tennessee. I thought the movie was funny but knew if his goal was to get those small town white kids to accept Mexicans, this was the wrong movie. First of all, the movie makes white people seem helpless. We were in a poor, rural town, these kids grew up being farmers (or at least having huge yards). There was only one apartment building and people only lived there temporarily (between houses/trailers). Everybody did their own home or vehicle repairs and lawn maintenance. Nobody had a maid ("who can afford one of those?"). We all washed our own vehicles. The message in this movie came off as, "we can totally survive without Mexicans because we already do all this stuff ourselves." Which is a terrible message. It also widened the divide between rural and urban mindsets. It reaffirmed their dislike of "city people". The scene where they have office people picking oranges was comical but it also goes along with the whole, "they're stealing our jobs!" argument. Your average desk jockey isn't going out for a manual labor job, they don't want it. If they happen to be the type of person who wants to work outdoors and doesn't mind hard labor, they would be better at it than those oafs in the movie.
@giselle829 I love Hispanics like you that work hard and live the American dream. Not Hispanics that carry on the stereotypes that society thinks of them.
"Defense network computers. New... powerful... hooked into everything, trusted to run it all. They say it got smart, a new order of intelligence" Skynet "saw all humans as a threat; not just the ones on the other side" and "decided our fate in a microsecond: extermination".
@AurelioErik oh please! not every mexican is a gangbanging delinquent who has to get Welfare. My family worked hard to stay away from that. Today, im a high school senior that has never gotten in a single fight. Who has not gotten pregnant, like society thinks a mexican or any hispanic girl does. Who goes to church & believes that God sent his only son Jesus to die on the cross for us. a hispanic girl who has parents who pay taxes & own businesses & wanna prosper & achieve the american dream.

Same here! I don’t remember it being a comedy 😂
This movie was supposed to be a joke. Florida didn't need to make this a reality. 😂🤣😂
That’s because other immigrants from different countries populated it
