Oh boy do I have a special treat for you guys. Legendary investor Charlie Munger just gave a rare, sit down interview. This is the first new Charlie interview I have seen in years. You’re going to want to stick around to the end of this video because Munger covers how you should be investing if you want to become incredibly rich. Let’s get into it.
Charlie Munger is a billionaire and on the Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest people. Naturally, one would assume that Charlie’s personal stock portfolio consists of dozens of different stocks. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Munger’s personal stock portfolio consists of just 3 stocks: Berkshire, Costco, and the Daily Journal Corporation.
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to be able to come up with a new investment idea every week in order to invest successfully. Instead, Munger says that the key to being a great investor is having the patience and the ability to identify when a truly great opportunity presents itself. If you're lucky, you may just get a handful of these types of opportunities during your life. That is why it’s so important to be able to identify one when it does come along.
Use Munger and his investment in the retailer Costco as an example. Munger has been a large shareholder of Costco for decades, having been on the board of directors since 1997. In the Spring of 1997, Costco stock was trading at roughly $14 per share. Now, each share of the company is worth nearly $600 as of the making of this video. Quite the impressive return!
When Munger first invested in Costco, the business was a fraction of the size it is currently. Costco had just opened its first location a little over a decade ago and had yet to build out its national footprint. However, Munger was still able to identify how great an opportunity Costco stock was because of the strength of the company’s moat. A moat refers to a business’s ability to maintain a competitive advantage over its competitors in order to protect its long term profits and market share. Costco’s moat is based on its ability to sell products to consumers at lower prices than other retailers. The entire business model of Costco is built around driving costs down as far as possible and passing those savings on to customers in the form of lower prices.

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

I don't think I need a finance advisor. I can manage my own money and investments. I don't want to pay someone else to tell me what to do with my hard-earned cash.

That's a risky attitude, My friend. You might be missing out on some valuable opportunities and strategies that a finance advisor can offer. A finance advisor can help you plan for your short-term and long-term goals, optimize your tax situation, diversify your portfolio, and avoid costly mistakes.

I agree with You. A finance advisor can also provide you with objective and unbiased advice, especially when you are facing emotional or stressful situations. They can help you stay on track and avoid making impulsive decisions that can harm your financial future.

I used to think like you. I thought I knew enough about finance and investing to handle everything myself. But then I realized that I was spending too much time and energy on researching, analyzing, and monitoring my finances. I was also overwhelmed by the amount of information and options available. I decided to hire a finance advisor and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. They saved me a lot of time and money, and gave me peace of mind.

The cryptocurrency landscape is gearing up for a significant infusion of capital, particularly with the anticipated approval of ETFs and the readiness of Ripple's XRP for mainstream adoption. As traditional fiat currencies wane due to inflationary policies, digital currencies are increasingly seen as a more reliable and rewarding investment. Given Ripple's efficient transaction platform and the likely surge of trillions into the crypto market, there's never been a better time to trade. I've personally benefited from following Kucia Jacob trading tactics, amassing 13 bitcoins in a short two-month period, I just trade than hold on a Future I am not sure about

I can't predict the future & I'm terrible in timing the market. So I just buy great companies at reasonable prices and hold them for the long term. If the market drops, all the better, I'll just add more to my positions in great companies. I sleep well at night regardless of what the fund managers or the markets are doing. Before the latest drop in the market was down to $95K now up to about $200K

Sad news regarding Charlie Munger. 😞 I learned a lot from him and respected him greatly for what he shared.
On a separate note and more importantly, depending on what is true about life on the other side of death, Charlie Munger may or may not be resting in peace. I don't say this to be mean-spirited or rude but out of concern and love for all who may read this. If we're here b/c we're interested in investing in the future, there could be potentially nothing of more significance than what I'm talking about (assuming it's true.). Something to think about and not easily be dismissed.

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it
