How can you work with a cat hanging around ? I'd be too afraid to hurt it ! That handle came out really nice, too bad you didn't use it for a real knife ;) What was that with the belt at the end ?
Haha she doesn't hang around too long. Just a couple minutes to check things out. Never hangs around when the power tools are going either. I was kind of surprised when I put the oil on how good it looked. But it doesn't matter my parents have a wood shed full of red gum so there is more than I could ever want. I am gonna test it out soon to see how it performs. I was going to make it bigger but it is lucky I didn't because it is quite heavy being 6mm thick. If it was much heavier I wouldn't want to use it lol. With the belt at the end the little bit of brass rod I was deburring got caught between the tool rest and belt and it tore a strip off of the belt. It was a bit of a surprise. If I have little bloopers like that I thought it would be good idea to put them at the end of the videos. Glad to know you are still watching my videos, it seems to take forever to get a view.
ScottsHobbyz I have 2 dogs, most of the time they're just sleeping on the couch in the workshop far from me and I taught them to stay away from me when I'm working Basically they can come and see what's going on only when I'm handsanding 😂 It takes a lot of time to get views, continue making video, you'll get better at editing and your channel will grow slowly Be sure to take good looking thumbnails, it helps a lot 😉 I watched the majority of your videos because because most of them interest me 😉 Yes, put these little events at the end of the vid, it will become what identify your video, kind of a maker mark
cheers. I need to do the thumbnails better. They seem to be an after thought for me half the time. So I just snap a picture. I think the ones I do with writing in them look better and tell you more what to expect. So I am going to try do that more. I will be looking at better editing software in the medium term future. I am using windows movie maker which is basic but also pretty buggy. My computer is not too good. When I upgrade it I will get better editing software. I have been thinking I should put the bloopers in more videos. Might help with retention time. But they don't always happen when the camera is rolling. Or happen at all sometimes. I have been amazed at how fast FargoFX's channel has grown. I found him when he was around 100 subs. It took him about a quarter of his videos (after special effects type) to get to 100 subs. Now with the other 75% of his videos he is at over 7000. I wonder if that is normal. Pretty good jump though.
Indeed. Finding his channel started me on the process of starting a channel. It was pretty much a spitting image of what I want my channel to be except he does more forging stuff. I prefer stock removal. After finding his channel I got a camera, started trying to learn how to do youtube stuff and then had a go. The best thing about it is that having the channel means I have to get into the shed and start making stuff. So it motivates me to do something productive lol. I am thinking of doing some sharpening videos soon. You seem to get your blades pretty sharp. Might be some good videos you could make on that topic too.

ScottsHobbyz well he does good vids, so he can be proud of this because his efforts were worth it !
