Thank you for sharing this. We had a hard time following the written instructions. You made it look so easy. We can’t just snap it like you do. We are both in our 70’s.
Thanks so much for posting, I had to watch it twice, b/c the toddler is so dam cute, if he was part of the attachments, I would really be happy😊, anyway, I bought mine last year/love it, just bought a new filter, I notice you have the blue one, I got the white filter one, wondering if I should have gotten the blue one, also do you use a bag, when using it for sawdust?
Nice work here. My problem was the 1/2" (13mm) end caps would not go on the rear wheel rod, no matter how hard I hit them (and I made sure they were straight when I hit them). Unreal. I bet they put the wrong size in my box.
@@BuiltKnotBought That's what I believe also. I measured my cap opening and it's 1/2", but there's two tiny pieces on each side that keep the hole from being a complete 1/2". When you said gently tap the caps on, mine totally refused to go on and kept tilting to the side. I'll stop at Home Depot and try and find some new ones. Thanks for getting back to me.
@@BuiltKnotBought As I did fir the first one. Once it is fed thru the plastic brackets the second cap does not want to go on any and with the axel moving as you try to "tap" on the end you find yourself trying to hold the hammer, The other end and the cap to align it with the axle. A lot mroe difficutl than it should be - really appreciated the video.
I just assembled my 1800. I hear the upper tabs on the caddy assembly snap into place but they won’t hold. The caddy falls off. I have tried it quite a few times. Anyone else have this issue? Short of gluing it in place, I don’t know how to keep it on the vacuum.
@@paulcalder2792 I have not had this issue, mine has not fallen off since I first snapped it into place. Maybe some other viewers will chime in with advice for you 👍
Does this pump out the water if i attach a hose? I need to suck up flooded basement and want to attach a hose to go right into a slop sink instead of have to roll the vac outside to drain

Thank you. Didn’t want to read instructions. This got my HD1800 together. Appreciate it.
No problem, glad it was useful
Great review! Thanks for the feedback. I might have to go purchase one for cleaning the dust out of my basement.
Appreciate it, you'll be happy with it, I've been using it about a year now with zero issues
Very helpful. The instructions that came with it were confusing. Thanks.
Thanks for commenting, I'm not a fan of the written instructions either
Thanks for your tutorial and review. I’m a 69 year young woman that followed your tutorial and everything went great. Thanks😻
So glad to hear it was helpful for you
Great video. That's a good quality vac. You got a good one. You get the good stuff you will get good quality work. That will be my next vac.
@@davidalonzojr8617 thanks for the kind words, it's been very solid I don't have any complaints
Your tutorial was great. Gotta do more.
Really appreciate it
Nice video that was excellent putting a sign on top😊
Thanks! 😊
Rigid tools are the best!
They are legit 👍👍
Thank you!
You bet! thanks for the comment!

Thank you for watching and commenting! I do use a bag for saw dust. You'll want to have a couple extras on hand because they do fill up fast 👍
Thank you so much!!! ❤
@@melissavillalobos1010 you're welcome thanks for watching and commenting
Thanks bro I just bought it
Absolutely, you're going to be happy with it! Solid machine
Unfortunately, my caster doesn’t snap fully into the front caster foot. Mine doesn’t snap in.
Just figured it out. You have to step on the firmly to hear the snap.
Step down on the wheel until it snaps.
What about the filter? Keep it in for wet pickup?
I believe you want to take the filter out for vacuuming water
@@BuiltKnotBought Very good thanks.
How come you did not show how to put on the small end cap????
Does not work with just a hammer!
So frustrating!!!
It seems like a lot of people are having the same issue. You are with the end caps. I was able to hit mine on with the hammer
Caps also wouldn't hammer in for me. I bought silicone lubricant for $5 and then it worked.
That's really interesting that so many people are having trouble with them, sounds like they need to modify their design

Interesting, mine were a little tough to get on but it sounds like yours could have been the wrong size

@@Indy1984 interesting I remember mine being a pretty snug fit but a couple taps with a hammer sent it home
I got the first end cap to go on, but having NO LUCK getting the second one on. Have literally wasted 3 hours of my life on this end cap. 🤬
I gave up on those caps. The wheels stay on without them.
Wish you hadn't skipped over the tabs on the end of the axle - #2 can be quite the challenge
@@jayratliff4191 I just tapped them on with a hammer

i use one of these as a capet extractor wih a 2 and 1/2 in diameter 35 ft hose... works like a truckmount
Nice, mine is currently hooked up to my miter saw as a dust collector
You got jokes. This isn’t near close to a TruckMount.
Enjoyed the video. You forgot to put Model No in (HD1800) so I stumbled upon by accident. I also have this vacuum (Typo in title.
My apologies on the model no, thank you for watching I really appreciate it
@@BuiltKnotBought no worries. Just wanted to help you out in return. Your views should jump some when you fix title. 😉🙌🏼🤙🏼✌🏼❤️
Came to see how it works with liquids on carpet.
How to get the axle off? Can't get push pin off
might need to get creative with a vise grip and a hammer???
Tanner what is the purpose of the muffler diffuser?
I believe it prevents the vacuum from blowing dust everywhere
@@BuiltKnotBought OK I will give it a try. Thank you.

@@BuiltKnotBought you’re very welcome, I figured it out from your video rather than the manual lol.

Hola
Does this pump out the water if i attach a hose? I need to suck up flooded basement and want to attach a hose to go right into a slop sink instead of have to roll the vac outside to drain
I'm not sure if you could rig that up or not to be honest, keep me posted if it works
Ridgid makes a pump to attach to the drain spout. not sure of the number check HD
