Most Haunted Place In Austin: The Driskill Hotel

- Today we are visiting the Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas. It is said to be the most haunted hotel in the city known for several major ghosts and a haunted painting as shown in the thumbnail.
According to the hotel's website the Driskill is "On the corner of 6th Street and Brazos Street, in the heart of downtown Austin, stands a historic landmark of Texas hospitality: The Driskill. For more than a century, this iconic hotel has hosted restful nights, inspired gatherings, momentous occasions and then some. With 189 well-appointed guestrooms, three top-notch food and beverage outlets, storied spaces and matchless service, The Driskill is ready to welcome you to be a part of Texas history."
But if you look a little deeper you'll see stories like on austinghosts.c...
you'll see this property is far more than meets the eye.
"Jesse bought the land in 1884 and 2 years later he had the grand opening. All paid with blood money.
The Driskill has what could only be described as a karmic whammy on itself. It was paid, furnished, and marketed with coin chiseled into Jesse’s pockets on the back of dead soldiers, human misery, and slaughtered cows… The whole assembly line, from start to finish, was drenched in blood and vile.
That’s how the Driskill Hotel became one of the most haunted hotels in the United States. Now, let’s talk about the ghosts and the goblins of the place. Let’s focus on that. Let’s sweep under the rug all those other years - because frankly, aside from the fact that President Johnson had his first date with his wife at the bar - the place is basically a by the numbers joint with some history but nothing to really write home about. It has a rich history but few car wrecks to really get our ghoulish blood pumping.
Let’s get to the juicy bit and really dig our teeth in what you came to this website for… the lurid tales of phantoms, ghosts, and general mayhem. Let’s unearth the skeletons in the closet.
This place has become synonymous with hauntings. The Driskill is so full of a ghost that it even has a Spotify playlist devoted to the subject - I kid you not. If you Google the term ghost and Driskill you’ll be rewarded with so much nightmare fodder that you’re therapist will need to medicate you just so you can once more have a good night’s sleep." #creatornow
Would you stay at the Driskill Hotel? This was one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve seen in my travels. I for sure want to go back.
Definitely!
Staying in the 5th floor this weekend! It IS creepy! But the food is really good and the people are so nice
If you have an opportunity go see the Seelbach Hotel In Louisville Kentucky. We stayed in the owners suit in October. My favorite in all of the US so far and most of Europe, again so far.
@@Captain-ln3vh nice! I’ll have to put it on the list!
Not gonna lie, I got chills when you showed the painting of the little girl! I used to travel to Austin every week for work and had no idea this place even existed! I'd love to check it out next time I'm there though!
It’s a super creepy painting, right?!
You have got to be kidding! I live about 30 minutes away from this place! That place is FULL of history. I glad you wore your official baseball cap to investigate! 🤘🏻
I love this hat. Got it from my gramma for Christmas.
Road Trip!!!!
The hotel really does look amazing!
It was so beautiful.
What’s crazy is my grandma actually had a painting identical to this hanging in her living room when I was a child, I was so fascinated with it. I’m not sure what happened to it but now I’m gonna ask her!
Love the Paranormal Investigator Hat
Haha thanks! Got it from my family for the holidays.
This is a great exploratory clip for this hotel. I'm surprised you didn't cover room 525.
Wow great video
Oh thank you so much!
I’m at the Driskill now in a suite right by the picture. No ghosts this trip so far.
Ahhhh such a bummer. I didn’t see any either.
By the way, I’m glad you’re aware of the craziness going on on 6th street; be careful if you’re anywhere around there at night, please!
I have friends who work security at night on 6th so I hear all the stories. Day time only for us.
Awesome video as usual!
Thank you so much.
Last video before sleeping
Hope you enjoyed it!
Again another great and very informative video. Love the cap! As always I can’t wait to see your next video. You definitely deserve more thumbs up 👍 Have you ever/or do have any plans to come to Australia 🇦🇺 in the future??
Never been to Australia. No plans in the future specifically. More of a bucket list trip.
I’ve heard the story of that little girl. It’s sad. Way too young. May you rest in peace kid. As for the bride who committed suicide that’s creepy as hell. However, in my opinion I think a person hanging themselves is the most messed up and creepy way of dying.
yes it sounds horrible
Miss Karley! You’re so awesome and I always enjoy your energy you promote with your videos. I cast out tons of Love and Peace to you as always! 💙☮️💫.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that.
You’re very welcome! So we still need to do our meet and great sometime and do some drone flying! Idk if it’s true but they said there is a new DJI mini 3 coming out 🙏🏼😆
Well let me know if you have connections for a drone sponsor. That’s pretty much the only way I can budget the time to go out to a drone event.
@@KarleyCottrell sometime in March it will be. I’ll be back in Sedona Arizona to stay this time for good so if you can arrange time just let me know. As always Love and Peace. 💙☮️
@@nater9524 I’m confused. Is there a specific event you’re talking about? I don’t know what meet and greet you mean.
Interesting and wow
Thank you very much.
I couldn’t stay the night but that would be super fun content for you to stay and share your experience!! 😂
It would be super cool!
Nice video, My sister carol lives in texas. I wish I could go to different states like you.
It’s a wonderful privilege to get to travel.
Great video!! Do you plan on doing a video about the Winchester House in San Jose, CA?
I do! I used to work there as a tour guide. It was my first job in high school. I’m planning something with them for later in the summer.
I have a print of her on my wall for years now. Nothing paranormal to add. Just a beautiful little girl. RIP 🙏 Samantha
I would agree. And to be fair… if spirit energy is real… I wouldn’t expect it to travel to prints made off the painting.
You are so brave to go to haunted places 😅 I’m too much a scaredy-cat “LOL! Omg she fell down the stairs. So sad! Okay nope those long hallways are creepy.
Hahahaa oh thank you!
Would love to stay there, but it’s expensive.
Scary...
Everything is bigger in Texas! Even the ghost stories. Hahah
Driskill was featured in the first season of "My Ghost Story" where they show a super clear picture of a full body apparition by these very stairs 0:12
I find it strange that searching for this picture on Google, I find nothing. It does not appear. I really want to know if it has been confirmed to be fake or what. Otherwise it's the clearest picture of a ghost ever taken....
oh how interesting
No Samantha is a beautiful little girl 💗
Of course she’s beautiful! That’s not in question.
The painting of the little girl in pink was of Samantha Houston. She was the little girl that fell to her desk. She was the daughter of a politition of the time. The painting was donated to The Driskill. A medium ask the ghost if she would like to live in the painting. The ghost said yes. Modern ghost hunters asked this ghost the same question with a spirit box she said yes she loves the painting (by Richard King)
Oh very interesting! Love the extra info.
The Drisklill looks beautiful, too bad the area is less than desirable. Excellent video, Karley!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it.
I thought the ghost of the bride is on the 5th floor?
Oh really? The little girl is the 5th floor for sure. But I was told the bride was the 3rd floor. Good catch if that’s incorrect info.
Hello karley, another great little video... But did I detect a slight nervousness in your voice 👻
Hahahaaha not at all. More like running trying to get the video filmed before I had to get to the airport. There was nothing scary here at all.
@@KarleyCottrell 👍👍
I’m staying here in March…
Awesome! Comment when you stay and let me know how it was. Excited for you.
Where this hotel at I go to 6th every weekend and been trying to find it
If you google the name it will come up for you. Hope you found it sometimes in these last few months!
I passed it a few times but haven’t gone in yet
Maybe. But not alone LOL😳😳👻👻
Hahhaha oh you wouldn’t be alone. You’d have plenty of ghosts with you. Hahah
@@KarleyCottrell Guess you are right 😆😆😆
There’s not a room 323
👻 lol
☠️🤘🏽
Maybe Jesse and the little girl, but the brides are false stories.
Interesting!
I have learnt goldfield hotel nv is way more haunted
The Goldfield Hotel is fantastic! I’m not sure if it’s more or less haunted. It’s a hard thing to measure scientifically.
Hi
Hello
Ummm I just watched a video where the guy said the room the bride killed herself was actually room 525. Sooooo?
Oh interesting! Well the info in my video is what I was told when I was there so….. you’d have to ask the people at the hotel where the discrepancy is there.
This is like 30 something mins away from meh🥲
Oh nice! Hope you go check it out.
