You are right about the dangers of that spillway. I made the mistake of getting too close in my kayak in that area b/t the two spillway sections. I was lured in by the calm water but all of a sudden my kayak was sucked towards the base of the spillway and would have definitely been sucked under but managed to crank the trolling motor and paddled and pushed my way clear. It scared me BAD!
Me and my sons are really big supporters and fans of your channel and have been watching for a long time since around the beginning I've never been good at fishing but my boys love it and they just got kayaks this last Christmas and have seen alot of the videos and they were wondering about where that spillway is and if you prefer circle hooks, kahle hooks, or trebles for the tuffys and even shinners were are really big trout fisherman and are looking for some spots to throw some live minnows on the yak and kill em but they are really looking into bass and smallies we fished the nol the. other day no luck but trying to look for some boone lake spots for big trouts and bass thank you for responding to my other comments the other day and taking your time to read and help.
When it comes to the spillway at Rogersville, I go to the John severe boat ramp. It’s a great place to fish April and May. My favourite go to hook for almost every situation is a gamakatsu octopus size one hook.
Great video, I love the steam plant, where you can catch a variety of on live bait or artificial. Down at that old bridge down below the ramp is great fishing. Where the creek runs out at the ramp is good to
Any walleye in there? I figured with crawlers you would have nailed an eye at the spillway. Another great video! Good to see you out fishing again! You ever tried eating a freshwater drum? I have eaten the saltwater black drum at Cape Hatteras, & Sebastian Inlet in Florida and they were delicious. But I have never tried a freshwater drum.
There are SaugEye (sauger/walleye cross) in Cherokee also. Years ago you could fish from the West bank below the spillway. Caught some nice white bass there. The BBQ place was the bait shop back in the 70’s.
Most of the time you can take up Pontoon Boat down there. Especially since we’ve had so much rain. In the early spring sometimes it can be a little shallow, but you should have no problem by now.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher I appreciate it! Next time I’m by Brummits I’m going to leave you some lures there! They seem to be very nice people. Do you think they’d mind? Or if you have a P.O. Box or something i can just mail them to you.
Nice vid, again. I've had good luck there with a white rooster tail, the white bass like them. - Lou
Yeah, next time I go, I’m bringing some rooster tails with me
Great Rogersville fishing action.

Yeah, at some point I’ll have to try that out.
Sorry about hogging that spot my dude. There were people there for hours before me haha I was just trying to get my licks in
All good. Those other guys wore it out. Still a great day of fishing.
Those Mayor swimbaits are great!
Yes, very productive.
Awesome video I need to get there and fish sometime!

@@garycallahan7867 that awesome. Good info.
another great video...I'm curious, what kind of boat did Travis have?
I’m not 100%. Possibility a crawdad.
nice

A friend and I have wanted to get down to fish the spillway in Rogersville.
It’s a great place to fish
Hi what type of rods are those. Thanks
They are called shocks, they’re made by Berkeley and can be found at Walmart.
How shallow does the water get in that area? Is it plenty deep enough for a pontoon boat?

@@sirtango1 they wouldn’t mind at all.
Why the water always low
It definitely fluctuates every spring, but I think it’s because they are still filling up the Lake.
How shallow is it below the bridge pylons
I think 5ft
What has happened to flyfishing. Low populations of trout.
I love Fishing for all types of fish in all types of ways. Fly fishing episodes are coming soon.
