- it's got the classic 2d guilty gear sound so make sure you're not watching this too loudly.
this is a collection of...hopefully all of the special intros in the story mode of Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core +R.
I'm almost certain I've missed a few because of how undocumented (and/or wrong the story mode path guides I could find were), let me know if I've missed any!
I've sorted these out by story mode order (in the case of duplicate intros, like Chipp v. Baiken or May vs. Faust, the first character in the list takes priority)

I like how since Ky and Sol respect each other a lot their intro, unlike most others, doesn't take their health away and puts them both in a neutral "round start" position.
Even their god damn intro is saying they want to fight each other fair and square
@@ARandomBoi_NothingToSeeHere Well, the reason is because Sol VS Ky intro is not exclusive to story mode, you can see it in normal VS mode too. So it's competitive legal, basically.
But hey, I like your interpetation better, so take what you want lol
@@iowa6646 actually it might not, because making the full intro play means both players are actually slightly further away from each other, giving Ky a slight advantage.
Still it’s only a slight advantage and shouldn’t matter too much.

Very clever, using many of the characters' taunts/respects as improvised 'special' dialogue. A nice little touch to all these badass ways of saying hello.
This is awesome! More fighting games should do this.

@@alexanderartaza2173 True. I'd settle for having intros like these for significant matchups but without changing the initial health/positioning of characters.
This is just story mode lol, the game does have special intro without ending up changing position or losing health

10:17 after +50 attempts at this fight I was pretty done with dealing with I-No's bs healing.
I like the detail of the position of the tension gauge on some of these fights.

Sol, Testament and Millia have the most. This game is too good 😌 pinnacle of GG
I love how Faust and Zappa pretty much screw around like they're friends in an online match playing against each other.
As these intros were made originally for AC+, and not for +R, the ones involving Testament's EXE beast are slightly different to how they should actually play out, eg. Testament interrupting Dizzy's Gamma Ray and, instead of trying to block it, he just walks backwards for no reason.
oh shit, I didn't thought about how the balance patch actually messed up these intros.

These actually first appeared in Guilty Gear X Plus, which was when story mode was first introduced into the series.
Needless to say, they carried over into XX up to this current level in AC+/+R. However, in #Reload due to Robo-Ky's major overhaul, all story mode intros involving him as an opponent in vanilla XX were completely changed.
BRO, i always wished there was a video Like this out. 4 seconds in and i had to drop to my knee whilst the "Halo" choir sang.
I used to love these intros, everytime i saw a move that wasnt on the Command list i was geekin out. (EX mode for the win)
I really love how Sol vs I-no final story intro is Synchronized with the music

It's worth noting that Guilty Gear XX Reload and the original Guilty Gear XX as well as Guilty Gear X also had unique clash intros for the stories... I have yet to compile the ones from GGXPlus though. I should also mention the PS2 version shows sprites at a larger size than the Steam version of +R.

Absolutely crazy how these can leave characters with damage, most leave a character with a health or resource lead, in addition to a potentially disadvantageous position
Like Testament V Dizzy gives Testament a slight health and Resource lead, but also puts them in the corner

Interesting the game might start you with some damage or to the opponent, and surprise they don't reset the chars to middle.

it would be really cool if they put these intros in multiplayer mode, even though it's a simple detail I really like it

I like that ASW did this, but the only drawback is the positioning of characters on the screen. Makes special intros not worth watching for the sake of having proper spacing for round start, in a competitive POV at least
you don't get these intros in a regular match anyway; these intros are purely for the single-player story mode

combination of not having a lot of story mode intros to begin with, having a few duplicate intros (iirc its with at least venom and faust) and being near last on the story mode selection thing.

Why are Millia and Zato poisoned?
They both got a Sacred Beast in their body. And GG version of Sacred Beast is that they are literal parasite living in the user body and slowly killing them.
@@BlossomPathOnStage15 Wait, is that as a part of their plotline or do you mean the creatures they use to fight? Cuz if they have that normally then why wouldn't it be poisoning them all the time? I'm confused.
@@OccuredJakub12 Only in the story mode. Also while the game shows poisoning it's more like the Sacred Beast is draining their lives away.
Zato died sometime between X and XX. Between XX and AC, Zato's body is being controlled by Eddie (hence why he's referred to as Eddie during the games released between those two). Eddie's story mode in AC+ is about how, since Zato's dead his body's slowly dying, meaning that Eddie will die as well, since he's basically a parasite.
Millia's hair thing is like Eddie, a parasite thing. Millia and Eddie being poisoned is supposed to represent their lives slowly withering away.
