    The first time I ever saw a Faberge Egg it was in a magazine (back then we used smoke signals to communicate). I fell in love with it, I knew I wanted to own one someday. Unfortunately as a kid you have no idea you'll never own one. They are beautiful, so well crafted and imagined. Although they aren't the real thing even the ones being made now are gorgeous.
    Finding that missing egg must have been the dream of dreams.

      Several are still privately owned. It’s possible, just extremely rare.

    Faberge a remarkable man who had a craft which people found a gift, bought delight. A jewelry maker who made beautiful miniature memories. Inspired other craft makers. Unfortunately haters are going to hate, the way of the beast. But what beautiful items ❤

    The Faberge Eggs were broken up by the communists and sold. Probably the same thing happened to the Amber Room in Saint Petersburg. If you ever get the chance to go to the Hermitage you’ll see many works of art came into the possession of the Russians in WWII.

    • @rogwarrior1018
      @rogwarrior1018 Місяць тому

      I would love to see the Amber Room found in my lifetime but, I think Stalin pulled the greatest ruse of all. Stalin knew Hitler would take it and switched it with a fake. I don't believe the real Amber Room ever left Russia.

    Where is the missing Fabergé Nécessaire Egg?
    In an article on the egg, Wartski states, "It was last recorded [on our premises] on the 19th June 1952 when it was sold a buyer named as 'A Stranger' for £1250... The purchaser's anonymity was safeguarded throughout Wartski's records and they remain unidentified."3l Its current whereabouts are unknown.

    In my 20s I worked w a woman in her fifties who said she had 3 Fabarge eggs. She said her father had been part of the Russian court and I thought she said he had received them as gifts. She invited me to see them but I never did. She died of cancer shortly afterwards. Seeing this video brought her to mind. And there are 3 missing. She had no children. I wonder what happened to them

    • @viktoriakohler1224
      @viktoriakohler1224 24 дні тому

      @@maszkalman3676 Can't remember that Germany has stolen anything? Only during WWI and WWII. And this was all taken back and much more after the war for recompensation as usual. Germany respective German Archaelogists and rich Germans bought a lot of artefacts. Benin statues for example are bought from British goverment, and the British took it as a recompensation from the Benins. We did not take any thing from the Benin. It was colonial time. And Germany was very short term in colonial business. After WWI all was taken over by British or French. Nazis did a lot of terrible things in 12 years. Very effective, all archived. And so it is still today no problem to return it back to the descendants. Other countries don't have such burocracy, and so they keep much more artefacts as you may imagine. And they do colonisation since hundreds of years. But they don't have exact lists of millions of people taken to slavery. They need recompensation first. And what is about the land of the native Americans or Africans? Will it be returned back or will such people receive an adequate recompensation for all the betrayl? I am quite wondering. We have kept a lot of artefacts in good care for science and foreign countries. Without our scientists nothing would be left over. Nothing for all mankind. Please look back to Bagdad. What happened after Americans took over? The great museum was plundered and the artefacts were sold immediately to rich people around the world especially America. (Today it shows it was a business in advanc, it was war crime too) And they will never be seen again and no scientist can do any research without knowing the true origin. Why giving back artefacts without knowing they may keep it in good condition. Will it not be better to have a good copy? We have a lot of artefacts from old families / generous people in our museums. They still belong to this families but they know their artefacts are safe, everybody can see them and they can be studied safely. WWII is over for more than 70 years. Why all that hate. To much movies? Like inglorious bastards? That is fiction, it is not the truth. The "Banalität des Bösen" is the truth. Read that book and you know the truth. It is from Hannah Arendt. Ever heard from her?
