Adam Savage has had the pleasure of going behind the scenes of several films and TV shows. Check out our playlist of videos from those set visits! bit.ly/2YpN8qu
So fricken awesome!! That is so cool. They really made a good choice of putting Adam In as an extra. Because how much he loves these movies. And how much attention he brings about them on UA-cam.
On the Still Untitled Podcast, Adam mentioned how Dave Bautista actually recognized him and asked him where he knew him from. Adam told him Mythbusters and Dave had the biggest smile and shook his hand. Dave told him that his wife is the biggest geek and they both love Mythbusters. So awesome!
it's funny someone putting effort to 'weathering' his hands, because somehow I'd imagine that's the 'natural' color for his hands most of the time anyway
Revisiting this video made me appreciate Adam's enthusiasm even more, as well as the skill of the wardrobe person as she picked things out for his initial ensemble. It's so nice to see someone who really knows their stuff have such an undying enthusiasm and joy about the process of filmmaking and world building. Thanks Adam and team!
So happy for you! Like anyone who has watched your videos, I know how much Blade Runner means to you, and I am glad you have given all us fans this chance to live vicariously through you.
Awesome, I'm very jealous!! All three short films were incredible too. What a great way to fill in some of the blanks between the first story and the second without having to start off with some cheesy monologue ;)
A lot of the wardrobe did seem heavily inspired by and taken from milsurp, so yes, this look would fall in line with yeezy season 3 or 4 aesthetically speaking
I'm Hungarian and I'm glad to hear the guy next to Adam yelling at him in Hungarian, at around 5:14 in the video. He said "Menjen már el innen!" which is basically "Get out of here!" in English. Nice homage to Edward James Olmos and his famous Hungarian frases from the first Blade Runner film.
I think its so lovely that adam is always living his dreams and being happy as can be with what hes doing. Even cooler is that he got to be in a movie of one of his all time favorite universes!
I was just telling someone the other day that I wished they would've had Adam Savage as a cameo in the new Blade Runner! So happy he got a spot in this short, seeing this video made my day.
Being an extra is so much fun. I've been an extra in a couple of tv shows and movies that were large productions, and it is truly fascinating watching the whole process at work. It can truly suck sometimes doing a take over... and over... and over... all freaking day but it's still worth it. I wish I could go back and do it again but unfortunately I don't have the flexibility in my job that I used to have.
I totally agree on this! I've been an extra for some time now. Although some shootings can have worse atmospheres sometimes. But it's usually interesting overall. It's also fun you meet familiar faces later on (even from the crew like the dressers) and also if the movie is out, you can see the result (and maybe even yourself too). I was also in this one, it was long, but interesting (landfill scene where people get attacked with rockets). ua-cam.com/video/8QvJajVj28w/v-deo.html
way to go Adam! i noticed your character the first time i saw the short, the only way i would have noticed it was you was if they let you keep the glasses on. way to go man. Bladerunner is an excellent franchise.
I think what I've always liked about Adam is he knows exactly how lucky he is to be doing this stuff. That grin on his face when they finished adjusting his garbage bag says it all.
I have to say Adam did a great job. I didn't notice him the first time I watched and having focused in on him this time around I have to say he melted into the scene expertly well. Well done.
I was an extra in a zombie movie, so I can tell you that a few seconds on screen in the background is worth however many hours you're standing around and getting prepped and all... But being in something Blade Runner related has to be 100000x as cool as a little indie movie.
Always good to see Adam having fun and getting to do things he's always dreamed of doing. His energy and excitement was one of the main draws of Mythbusters for me when it first started and it's good to see his excitement for things he enjoys hasn't dulled a bit. The new hosts of the new Mythbusters have some VERY large boots to fill after Adam and Jamie's long run.
I finally got to see the three shorts between Blade Runner & 2049 movies. Had I not see this I would have never noticed you Adam, but I Did. Great Job & keep on entertaning us! 😎
I've watched that scene a few times now, It was in the trailers but I never noticed you before Adam. It's either your awesome acting skills or the lack of your iconic glasses.
What has always intrigued me is how exactly do they organise all of this? All of these sets, all the logistics and the huge number of people working there each day. To me it looks like a bazaar, it looks like so much work, and there are so many people there that it is hard to fully grasp just how much managing power that is required to fuel such a production.
With his fame, I beleive Adam could easily be cast as an extra, or even with a small role, in any sci-fi movie. Any movie for that matter. Good job mate.
I actually have to say the acting on Adam's part was quite fantastic! I had to re-watch that a couple times to realize what was going on, and even then it felt like a perfect clandestine sale. Well done, and congratulations!
Hahah, I thought that was contrast stitching for the sweater's inner tag. I wonder if that's a real bug or a prank bug....NOPE real bug. It moved in between shots.

in a different universe, a blood trader with dubious fashion sense has finally fulfilled his dream of briefly appearing on a mythbusting show
Jim Steinbrecher "briefly" 😂
@@scootscoot919 he probably got blowd up
On the Still Untitled Podcast, Adam mentioned how Dave Bautista actually recognized him and asked him where he knew him from. Adam told him Mythbusters and Dave had the biggest smile and shook his hand. Dave told him that his wife is the biggest geek and they both love Mythbusters. So awesome!
I worked with Dave Bautista on Final Score, he is a lovely guy
I love that Adam is always so excited about everything he does
Super justified in this one; He's a huuuuge Blade Runner fan.
megaman161 he must have been a little bit disappointed that he wasn't in the actual movie
I'd argue he only does things he's excited about
Brilliant he is in the short that they filmed, he knew right away that he wasn't going to be in the main feature
Zachary Maneja his dick touches the water
Adam got some "weathering" effect on him..LOL
lol nice
Gives a new meaning for rub and buff.
it's funny someone putting effort to 'weathering' his hands, because somehow I'd imagine that's the 'natural' color for his hands most of the time anyway
They had him stand in a corner and every so often the prop department would dump a pot of cold coffee on him..
Well beats his role that he did on Discovery to end up being the Oldest Human in the world. Lol
Damn Adam getting to live his dream
Wet dream.
getting weathered?
**Adam getting to live our dreams
Oh daaaaaayum...!
2000jagi lol he means "damn" as in "holy shit"
**Puts on a bin bag**
Adam: "I've been transported into the blade runner universe!"
Wonder how many people will now cosplay as this character at the next Comic Con.
Hes appearance has changed three times. Theres some story behind it.
That was probably the ideal role for an amateur actor, since it makes perfect sense to be awkward and nervous in that situation ^^
He has done a movie before
He and Hynaman actually had a cameo in the move "The Darwin awards"
Revisiting this video made me appreciate Adam's enthusiasm even more, as well as the skill of the wardrobe person as she picked things out for his initial ensemble. It's so nice to see someone who really knows their stuff have such an undying enthusiasm and joy about the process of filmmaking and world building. Thanks Adam and team!
Anyone notice his costume changes when he goes to makeup?
Skip6235 I did, a different jacket and hat. I guess they tried a few outfits but only used the first take.
It's obvious as fuck? Unless you're high as fuck?
Who isn't high as fuck watching this?
Looked better, I think. Love the hoodie.
most older people i'd imagine.
First the expanse, now Blade Runner.
It seems adam has made it his mission to appear in all my favorite franchises.
Well he was in a Sharma Commercial...long long long long long long time ago.
I have no idea what a Sharma is, but now I definitely have to try one.
What makes the idea of the short films even greater, is that casual viewers (unlike me) don't have to get filled in on the backstory
where can I watch these short films?
With those small glasses and broad shoulders, Dave reminds me if Virgil from Fallout :P
How haven't I seen this until now?! I watched all the shorts when they came out and didn't even realise it was adam. Jeez, must be a solid actor...
Is there a bug om her back.... ?🤔
i saw it too
YES! omg i saw it right away and i am surprised none commented on the video postprod with like an arrow or something D_D
Indeed, and i think it seemed to move some, each time, it was noted :)
looks like a cricket or something, aint going to kill her xD
I think it's a roach
with his part on the Expanse and now this... Adam needs to be an extra on every Sci-Fi show/movie... it's like a really great Easter egg.
How To: Dress Like Kanye West
A lot of the wardrobe did seem heavily inspired by and taken from milsurp, so yes, this look would fall in line with yeezy season 3 or 4 aesthetically speaking
If so he stole his look from the original Blade Runner then as this was inline with some of the look from the original.
Stole? I think you mean inspired. Everyone use some sort of referance, so you can't find a design that isn't inspired by something.
Kanye is a big cyberpunk fan in general, just look at his Stronger video clip. Straight from Akira.
Adam looking like a ghetto Rebel Soldier on Endor xD
"Do you know what you'd be selling?"
"I dunno... uh, eyeballs"
**reference finger snapping**
That was a pretty good part Adam got in Expanse series 2 finale! Well Jel! Now Bladerunner! Dang boy!
Adam is living the dream! Awesome!
What I like about Adam is he seems to have so much fun, no matter what he is doing.
I love how you get so much joy from everything you do. It's one of the reasons I follow what you do.

Totally missed him in that. Wonder if I would have noticed if he had the glasses on?
I don't even remember that scene.
I think they cut it... ? I don't remember it either
New Message lol dat icon is same as mine boi
can't remember either
Its not from the movie, as he said, its from one of the prequel shorts, they're on youtube.
What effort for only 10 seconds role, and there was a whole group there, much respect to those people
Anyone notice the roach on the back of her sweater the whole time she was dressing him
yea that was bad.
wtf lol i didnt even notice
I thought it was grasshopper
Jim Heeren its not a grasshopper lol
its a large aphid not a roach
Good that we got to see the clip from the final film. Really helps us to understand.
goddamn there's a huge bug on her back
1:54 for those who missed it.
It's moving around, it's not lint.
Derek Dincer lol watch in HD you can clearly see its a small cockroach
Jumps off at 2:25
It's a stink bug lol shits are mad annoying
It's nice to see Adam being a fan and the best part of it; living the dream.
Being an extra is so much fun. I've been an extra in a couple of tv shows and movies that were large productions, and it is truly fascinating watching the whole process at work. It can truly suck sometimes doing a take over... and over... and over... all freaking day but it's still worth it. I love the casual insect just chilling on her back.
Can't believe I didn't recognize Adam in the final product! He was RIGHT THERE.
The Morrocan pipes playing in the background was a nice touch, made me think of Burroughs, who incidentally, invented the term Bladerunner.
way to go Adam! i noticed your character the first time i saw the short, the only way i would have noticed it was you was if they let you keep the glasses on. way to go man. Bladerunner is an excellent franchise.
You can tell Adam was rocking full chub. Glad you got to have a part in a sequel to one of your favorite movies 👍
I think what I've always liked about Adam is he knows exactly how lucky he is to be doing this stuff. That grin on his face when they finished adjusting his garbage bag says it all.
I bet everyone on set was going "OMFG, thats THE guy from Mythbusters!!!.
Adam who is all about proper weathering of his replicas, himself got properly weathered...
Adam that was awesome, thanks for making these videos! Cheers from Canada to all the Tested team!
I can tell that this man is having the time of his life. Such amazing experience. Happy for you.
I'm so happy Adam got to be part of his favorite universe and also mine.
I have to say Adam did a great job. I didn't notice him the first time I watched and having focused in on him this time around I have to say he melted into the scene expertly well. Well done.
I think I was as excited for you - if not more excited - than you were. It's contagious!
I was an extra in a zombie movie, so I can tell you that a few seconds on screen in the background is worth however many hours you're standing around and getting prepped and all... But being in something Blade Runner related has to be 100000x as cool as a little indie movie.
Now he can cosplay himself at the next con :-D.
I’ll live vicariously through Adam.
I think if anyone deserves a chance to play an extra in the new Blade Runner, it's Adam. Congratulations dude!
Adam's costume makes sense!
It is raining there almost ALL the time!
And his scene will be a great thing to look for In the movie!
I's nice to see that somebody who has basically had his own show for ten years still geeks out about a few minutes of screen time on a set he likes
What an honor! Im happy for you man!
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? THAT GUY WAS ADAM!!!!!!!! i saw the shorts multiple times and he was right there!
3:40 is the part of the costume Adam loved the most! It's weathering!
Wow that trench coat he ended up wearing with the design on the back was awesome.
I finally got to see the three shorts between Blade Runner & 2049 movies. Had I not see this I would have never noticed you Adam, but I Did. Great Job & keep on entertaning us! 😎
Adam's literally a real life where's waldo with all the extra roles he's doing in movies :)
I've watched that scene a few times now, It was in the trailers but I never noticed you before Adam. It's either your awesome acting skills or the lack of your iconic glasses.
She weathered Adam's hands like he does props.
Best incognito, I didn't even realized he was right there.
What has always intrigued me is how exactly do they organise all of this? All of these sets, all the logistics and the huge number of people working there each day. To me it looks like a bazaar, it looks like so much work, and there are so many people there that it is hard to fully grasp just how much managing power that is required to fuel such a production.
Super cute! Also nice that they didn't push him into frame as a cameo "Look it's Adam Savage!". He is just a regular citizen.
Adam savage now officially part of the blade runner universe
Feels so good to see someone SO GENUINELY happy and excited!
Adam Savage could just walk on set as Adam Savage and look the part.
Adams excitement is infectious
You KNOW someone will now cosplay as this character.
Congrats on getting to be in the short film, Adam. As always I love your sheer fanboyishness with all things Blade Runner.
Super excited!!!! Can't wait to see the full short. Really wish you coulda been in the actual movie.
Instead of Adam weathering some object, he was the one being weathered. I bet he loved it!
With his fame, I beleive Adam could easily be cast as an extra, or even with a small role, in any sci-fi movie.
Any movie for that matter.
Good job mate.
Shorts and Film were fantastic. Insanely jealous of Adam living the dream
That was kind of a Blade Runner cosplay tutorial
I'm just happy that Adam got to be part of something so dear to him I bet it was an unknown or maybe too well know dream of his congrats adam
Dangit I wish I had seen this before I saw the movie yesterday. Very cool that you got to be in it Adam!
I actually have to say the acting on Adam's part was quite fantastic! I had to re-watch that a couple times to realize what was going on, and even then it felt like a perfect clandestine sale. Well done, and congratulations!
Adam is like most of us, a kid at heart.
Sweet. Adam you always make me smile man.
I love how Adam keeps on looking at the guy... this is how you get discovered ppl!!! hahahahha
That's straight outta a Moebius comic!
I want to see you back on TV in a science show!
He should make a program that debunkes myths of everyday life
Luiz Paulo But where does he find a grumpy that doesn't get annoyed by his excitement 😂🤣
Yeah but what could it be called? Myth Debunkers? Debunking Myths? Busting Myths? No idea really. ;-)
Beaming.
That was awesome!
So happy for you.
Very cool!
It's so cute how optimistic and happy he is ~ aw xD
Super stoked to see you living your dream!
I didn't even notice him when I watched the short. So I guess that means their costume and makeup department did a great job!
I'm a big fan of the book, and PKD, only accepted the movie(s) grudgingly over time, but that was awesome! Very happy for Adam. Nice!
Congratulations Adam!
Love how worried your character looked, GREAT!
The blue coat/jacket is dope as hell
So Adam was in the Expanse and in one of the Blade Runner shorts ... damn. That is awesome :D
2:08 there is a big bug on her back... drumroll
Hahah, I thought that was contrast stitching for the sweater's inner tag. I wonder if that's a real bug or a prank bug....NOPE real bug. It moved in between shots.
stealing the show!
He looks like a child getting a new toy, he's so happy
So happy for you Adam! What a day!
im always excited watching him being excited about exciting stuff.
You Lucky SOB......You are now part of Real Blade Runner History forever!
That was awesome ! Another good reason to see Bladerunner 2049, for sure.
I'm so proud of Adam!!!
