I think the Pope and the Archbishop are merely adhering to the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament (a part of the Christian Bible which supersedes the 'old testament'). Jesus died for Jews and Palestinians and everyone else. Jesus never taught or implied that genocide or ethnic cleansing was acceptable, in any situation, and this is why I think that these Christian leaders are right in their condemnation of Israel.

I am ashamed to say I once used to "belong" to the Anglican Church. Now I am merely a Christian who is born again of God's Holy Spirit and I have read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation MANY times. I started in my early thirties and I am now 86 years old. You do the Maths of how many times I have read it. With humble thanks to the Holy Spirit inside me I have learnt SO MUCH. Why don't these two supposed leaders and shepherds of the Lord's Church READ THEIR BIBLES and absorb what is there? They behave as though they know all the answers BUT THEY DON'T. Only the Lord does. Dear Shepherd of our souls, the Lord Jesus who died for them and us all. Don't they CARE? I would not like to be in their shoes when they meet the Lord one day when He comes back as Judge! I have had the deepest regard for Chief Rabbis Ovadia Yosef, Yisroel Meir Lau, Lord Jonathan Sacks, and other leading rabbinic authorities who have led magnificently in my lifetime. I think the Pope and the Archbishop are merely adhering to the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament (a part of the Christian Bible which supersedes the 'old testament'). I am ashamed to say I once used to "belong" to the Anglican Church. Now I am merely a Christian who is born again of God's Holy Spirit and I have read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation MANY times. I started in my early thirties and I am now 86 years old. You do the Maths of how many times I have read it. With humble thanks to the Holy Spirit inside me I have learnt SO MUCH. Why don't these two supposed leaders and shepherds of the Lord's Church READ THEIR BIBLES and absorb what is there? They behave as though they know all the answers BUT THEY DON'T. Only the Lord does. Dear Shepherd of our souls, the Lord Jesus who died for them and us all. Don't they CARE? I would not like to be in their shoes when they meet the Lord one day when He comes back as Judge! I have had the deepest regard for Chief Rabbis Ovadia Yosef, Yisroel Meir Lau, Lord Jonathan Sacks, and other leading rabbinic authorities who have led magnificently in my lifetime. But none has stood as publicly as a messenger to the greater public throughout the world as has Chief Rav Goldstein, particularly given that he leads from the virulently anti-Semitic swamp of South Africa. It is a blessing to live during his lifetime.
