$50 Super Ultralight Goes Crazy!! Overseas Rod Mifine Eurybia

  • Today I share one of the best budget super ultralight rods on the market - The Mifine Eurybia 180cm 0.2-0.8g rod. I paid $47 total (including shipping) to get this rod delivered to me from OVERSEAS.
    I purchased this rod on AliExpress. The original link I used is no longer active. But you can search for the rod and find other retailers. Some stores are even listing the rod for less than what I paid.
    Ultimately, this is a great budget rod to get into some super ultralight feel/action. It is more sensitive than the daiwa iprimi 56xxul rod I had that many people ask about. People loved seeing the iprimi rod bend over, but it was not sensitive at all. This Mifine is twice as sensitive for half the price. I do love my slow iprimi rods however for other purposes. And I have a few more iprimi on the way.
    The trout where I was fishing average 9-12”, and in this video I hooked into trout much much larger than anticipated. This rod has plenty of backbone and the forgiveness of the rod helped keep the fish pinned.
    With 2023 coming to an end, I just want to say thanks for the support, subs and views. I have about a dozen rods/reels to review in the future. Thank you for your time. I will continue to make these reviews.

    That brownie was awesome. Habing caught a few trout recently I really understand how important it is to look after them as they definitely dont release well. I had one nearly not make it the other day, i dont think im ever going to target them without a net now.

      That little net in the vid is only used for trout haha they need it badly. That’s why I don’t really show the fish either I just keep them in the net and let them swim out of it. Kind of a bummer that stocked trout are so fragile. For sure everybody catches a few that don’t make it

    Just getting into ultralight fishing and I’m glad I found your channel which is helping me out a lot. Just curious what type of boat are you fishing out of?

    • @TheUltralightLife
      @TheUltralightLife  Місяць тому +1

      Hey man thanks I really appreciate it! The boat in this video is a Pelican Bass Raider 10e! It’s like a small 10 foot plastic pontoon boat but it’s much better than a comparable aluminum Jon boat and cheaper. I’ve ran 12-14 foot Jon my entire childhood, this is leaps and bounds better!

      @@gamerRF4 the presso ags is the best rod overall, bar none. I’ve been wanting to do an update review for it, because it deserves it. But I haven’t had the best content to really showcase how it excels! I will get it out when I can. So many mifines but dont know which one to try. Another guy i watch has the illusion which is also a .2-.8g. You should try the mavllos plume as a TM rod, its a super fast taper and some guys are throwing TMs on it in BFS. Those slower rods dont load well with the 1gish lures whereas the plume can load the tip. Did you watch Victors rod action vid?

    • @TheUltralightLife
      @TheUltralightLife  8 місяців тому

      Interesting I’ve never heard of that brand either. I have the smallest Yamaga blanks blue current model made for 1g lures to try next. I did watch his rod action video, good points. But historically I’ve always liked casting slower rods than a lot of my peers. Even spinnerbaits for bass etc bc I side roll cast into a lot of precise areas. It allows the bait to load the rod and sling it in a way I’ve used for years. Casting this lure is not a problem, there’s just no control or feel working the bait that you need haha

      @noobpyrotech9991 4 місяці тому

      Glad you mentioned the plume…I have been looking at the Plume for a while, and just learned about the Mifine brand. I have been looking for a UL and sub UL rod for soft plastics on a jig.

    • @22lbsboost
      @22lbsboost Місяць тому

      I'm confused because Victor said that slower more moderate action rods will cast further than fast/ xfast action rods if lure weight is in the sweet spot.

  • @noobpyrotech9991
    @noobpyrotech9991 4 місяці тому +1

    Thanks for the review, just learned about this brand. I was wanting to get the Kestrel Spinner or the Tsurinoya Jag for a ultralight set up. This rod looks good but also I was thinking about the Presso rod. I am glad you mentioned that it was not good for the Trout Magnet. The heaviest I mostly throw is 1/16. I like to throw 1/32 to trout magnet. Have you come across any rod that do well in the sub UL range?

    • @TheUltralightLife
      @TheUltralightLife  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey if you’re in the US. The American 6’6 daiwa presso rod is absolutely amazing for a trout magnet rod and under 100$. Sometimes the 6’6 is hard to find but that model is the perfect model. I paired it with a 500 nasci but that kestrel 1000 would be even better. I gave that rod to my dad to enjoy it’s so good. He lives on a small lake with bluegill

    • @TheUltralightLife
      @TheUltralightLife  8 місяців тому

      Hey thanks!! I use a bunch of different lines, but the best all around is Varivas nylon lines in 2-4lb test. Day in and day out cannot beat the versatility. For a beginner less expensive line I use Trilene XL smooth casting 2lb line a lot!

  • @castandchill
    @castandchill 7 місяців тому +1

    man i just got an ultra light combo. whats your take on line type? always the same or you mix it up? seems like everyone does braid to leader but ive heard you mention 2 or 4 pound mono or fluoro ?

    • @TheUltralightLife
      @TheUltralightLife  7 місяців тому +2

      Hey man! I’m old school. A lot of braid isn’t true ultralight to me. It actually breaks at strengths much higher than listed. I use mono (aka nylon) line in 2-4lb test more often than not on the ultralight side of things. I would recommend varivas twitch master and trout advance lines

      Hey! The iprimi is definitely lighter power. This rod is more crisp with more backbone. But the iprimi is so soft any cast makes it feel floppy haha. They both serve the same applications; casting the same lures. Thanks for watching!!
