I have to have both my hips replaced due to this disease and have to disagree with 50% of this! My symptoms were similar to sciatica down my right leg forcing doctors to put the treatment in my lower back. Too late when it came to being diagnosed it was my hips causing the issues and have to have my left hip replaced as it’s got advanced osteoarthritis from me compensating my weight on that side for so long. I’m only 35 years old too, never had steroids or a an alcohol problem so anyone reading, please make sure you get your doctors to do a full examination, rather than rely on symptoms! Doctors are now trying to claim the cause is due to alcohol consumption which is absolutely ridiculous!

      Omg. I am so sorry.
Me to. But the doctors overdosed my with steroids as a kid. That’s why I got it. But there are many ways. I also have both hips knees and left arm.
I take a lot of pain medication

Oh my god I can't believe what I just read as it could have been written by me! I'm 35 too and need both hips replaced starting with the left due to compensating when walking! However, I believe mine is due to alcohol, despite not being an alcoholic, I did drink spirits straight without mixers.
Anyway, how was your surgery? I'm due for my first soon. Nervous, scared and still cannot f*cking believe this is happening to me at 35!

Good day. I am Ayodeji, a 20 years old boy, 6.4ft still schooling and I have been diagnosed as sickle cell patient since 1 year old. Early Last year, my doctor's discovered I have AVN of the left hip, I couldn't stand and use of crutches was recommended for non weight bearing , it helps a lot. I have been having pain and some discomfort in my ankle late last year but I was diagnosed of right talar AVN few months ago. Mobility of the ankle is quite difficult when walking especially when climbing stairs but no measures have been made. I was told not to bear weight on it which is not possible because I have hip AVN on the other leg and I am a student. I am in your inbox to seek your advice and guidance as regards your professionalism in the field. Thanks doctor

What if you have a vascular necrosis? Also, because of lupus, and you cannot get insurance for another year. How can you possibly survive without any blood flow to your help? I am in so much pain. I could literally blow my head off. And I don't think I can live like this until November 2024. There's anybody out there that has any suggestions.

Please I have AVN. I’m 45 I got this disease when I was 17 and had a severe asthma attack. I was hospitalized for 2 months The whole time being given large doses of steroids.
A year later my left arm locked up.
That was the first replacement. In 1998.
Over the years I have had both hips and both knees replaced. My left arm currently has no elbow or humor bone.
Because of so many surgeries and a infectious cadaver bone. Please I am so desperate. No doctors want to deal with it. Someone anymore who can relate or give me some guidance. Please I’m not going to make it
