My cameras are inside looking outside, just in front of the window. For that reason at night the regular night vision meaning infra red, is useless because the infrared reflects in the window and screen is a bright white. So at night I use the colour night vision that works decently because outside the road has light posts.
The reason I use the camera inside, is because where I live we can get -40 and snow, and a pro intruder can knock the camera out if the camera is outside, to go his way on stilling something from the yard or getting in the shed.
What temperatures you get where you live and do you think any of my concerns make sense and what you are doing about?

Hi @brumasbusiness, operating temperatures for the wyzecam v4 is up to - 50°C. So if you wanted to try mounting it outside you should be good. You are right about infrared lights in front of window. They are useless. hopefully you are getting good colour night vision since there are street lights. Your concerns are valid for someone grabbing the camera if it's reachable.
My suggestion would be to mount it in a higher place if possible or more inconspicuous place. If you are worried about the camera being knocked out or stolen. Usually I like to keep the camera in plain sight because it acts as more of a deterant if someone is scoping out houses. so the camera is visible if the thef / intruder was to look around. I would suggest testing out the motion alerts you get with your color night vision from inside and outside the house and how well can you recognize details such as face body type, car licence etc...
For my setup I have 1 camera facing my shed outside, BC I need IR lights as there's not a lot of light for colour night vision. My temp goes to -30°C average. No issues with snow covering my wyze cam 4 as I have it placed under my gutters.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me anything else. Thanks!
