It is impressive to me and fits my needs appropriately, BUT something has to be done about linking notifications of the sensors to what mode the HMS is in. When disarmed, I don't need to know everytime a door is opened or motion is detected. I can disable notifications sure, but I shouldn't need to disarm the system then go into the app and change notifications also. A simple simple fix would be able to make a "rule" that when disarmed notifications for selected sensors is off and when armed you can select all sensor notifications enabled...hopefully in the future
Thanks for the review video! I'm a Wyze fan and haven't yet taken the time to see whether the Home Monitoring was something I wanted to add, but your video was a great review on what is offered and how it works. Thank you!
I've been trying to find out if the siren sound when triggered comes from the speaker or its own mounted internal buzzer like device. I don't want the risk of the loud siren. To that end, I disassembled the hub, took the speaker out and found something to deaden the sound and put it back in. Interestingly, the little red tape one side round mounting tape for the Wyze cam is exactly the right size. Didn't pull the paper off, just placed it in the center of the speaker hole and put the speaker back in. Then screwed it back together.
Lovely Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Mahorrla Defence Wisdom Method (do a google search)? Can this be shared like other Wyze products? Would like to share with my Wife seeing we both share the same living space. Thanks in advance and your reply would be greatly appreciated.
Good question! If we have not answered your question within our detailed hands-on review, we suggest reaching out to the company directly to get more information. Thanks for understanding!
Besides the Wyze cameras, sensors can you also integrate other Wyze products? I’m thinking if the alarm goes off I’d like it to be able to turn ON the Wyze light bulb or turn on the Wyze plug.
Thanks for the video and I am a wise owner but one thing that needs to be disclosed is that when your wifi goes down so does your monitoring system, it would be nice to have a cell network as a back up. This is a big vulnerability if you don’t have a home power back up system. If burglars know you have wise and there is a power outage that’s a big problem. I wouldn’t advertise you have wise security on your home.
That's a great point and you are right. Criminals today are very sophisticated and its probably not the best idea to advertise what system you are using at all.
I had a problem with the casings around the doors not allowing the door sensors to be close enough to ea. Other to actually work. Any DIY tips for this problem?
Question... Were you on the same WIFI as the equipment when testing sensors? Can you compare notifications on your local wifi and if on your mobile data? Great review... Thanks!
I have a lot of Wyze products and I generally like them. However, I do not consider them reliable enough that I would trust Wyze for security monitoring.
I had roommates and all they would do is shut off the router, modem or hit the breaker. You have to lock up your modem and router somehow. So frustrating as people will steal things. Dusgusting. But for outsiders not so bad.
I'm not sure about V2 sensors but I have the V1 door sensors and V1 motion sensor; I use routines with Alexa to announce when a specific sensor is triggered. Alexa would announce whenever I open the backyard door for example using routines.
So the siren and keypad doesn't work without paying the monthly fee? Makes it pretty useless then, basically just push notifications only. Do you have a recommendation for one without a monthly fee?
Hey Corey, great review. Just got the wyze bundle and have a lot of expectations. Quick question: do the 5 cameras allowed have to be on cam plus subscription to have AI capabilities and trigger alerts based on people/cars detection? Thanks!
I like the ring alarm system better because I do like how in the ring alarm that 24/7 monitoring us with the ring plan that is $100 more. Do not like how Wyze has it separate because my whole house is full with cameras and I pay for the subscription for those cameras. A lot to pay for and keep track. BTW nice vid!!!
Kangaroo has a program that will pay you back if your stuff is stolen and a few other useful elements, but I've overall seen a lot more from Wyze with Wyze Cam Plus
Not ready for prime time. The noonlight monitoring and certificate is the only reason to purchase this now. Gets you the discount for your insurance for a great price. As of this post the sensors do not connect to my Alexa routines. The hub does not make any announcements. So if the door sensor opens the hub makes no announce if a sensor is open or closed. No problem if you can connect a routine. (😅 I hope they fix that issue soon). So don’t disconnect your v1 sensors until Wyze fixes the Alexa routines. Because I took all my sensor down and lost all my automations and had to go out to buy some double sided tape put them all back up after taking them all down and changing all my automations. 😒 This is something I wish I new about and thought they would have time to addressed in Beta especially since the had a little extra time. Those are the only negative thing about the Wyze security/Monitoring system. Now for the positives things. Notifications on my devices do work. Set up was easy. Notifications are relatively fast. And the Siren/Hub can be hardwired or used with WiFi it also has a battery so it will work if the power goes out only if you have an existing battery backup for your modem and router. Sorry about the long post but I have only heard positive side to this system and not what you should actually expect. I’m not surprised because Wyze themselves have limited videos on the this product.
@@brandon.scherr If your looking for a discount for your house insurance. I would consider it. The monitoring service is great. They respond via text and phone within thee seconds. Police would respond within three to five minutes. I had about three outages. One when I was out of town and had to restart the system manually. I was not happy. The motion sensor in the garage kept going off when the weather changed so I relocated and added an extra contact sensor. Remember if you don't have a powered backup for your modem and wifi router in case of blackouts this and many other wifi systems will only operate locally. It has a hub with battery backup which would last you an hour and a half. The hub will ding and you will get a notification but I have routines on my Alexa echo for audible zone alerts. I have it mainly because I use Wyze cams and the house insurance discount but for the price it's a decent system.
Wyze Home Monitoring doesn’t currently work for so many people. It’s a “know issue” according to Wyze if you call them. Funny how they quickly report when AWS impacts their services but NOT when their own software doesn’t work. Wyze does provide a partial credit for equipment that doesn’t work. If you ordered equipment across several orders they seem to only be willing to credit the first order. This makes no sense, at least to me. I loved Wyze. But if you go into home security you need to have a reliable product. When you mess up, you need to communicate. If you can’t fix it, you need to make it right. Three strikes and you’re out [of this house].
With any security system, it's a bad idea to advertise the brand you use. Don't want to give a burglar a head start on figuring out how to disable your particular system (especially one that relies 100% on wifi like this one). There are plenty of generic security system stickers and signs available on Amazon, or get some other brand's stickers instead.
You make it seem like you only pay $6 a month that's a lie you have to also pay for the starter kit which is $39.99 for the basic patch kids and $79.99 for the premium next time don't leave there info out
Just so y’all know Wyze barely survived the pandemic. They let go a lot of their staff and hung on by a thread. So they lost shipping and customer service(but they are slowly getting). Jay z and his group saved wyze with a huge investment! So what hey one e we’re they will be again but just wait there is more coming from Wyze…
The 88 dB siren is a joke it nowhere near loud enough you’ll at least one over 100 for a siren I would personally spend more money and go with ring alarm he just seems like a way better overall system I don't even think the wyez has battery backup that means it would be pretty stupid to use the window stickers

I would just say that Wyze has outsourced the professional monitoring to a different company.

Will the hub/base go off if the sensor is triggered? Or do you just get phone notifications?
Really well done review!
7:31 So you can integrate 3rd party cameras into this home monitor system ? Any 3rd party cameras ? Any restrictions/limitations ?
will this work without paid monthly service?
Yes there is a paid and self monitoring option.
Dude, you're tripping me out with those black sleeves and black background, 😂
Is the monitoring system optional? is is it like some of the others that still have the in home alarm but not the subscription?
The subscription is not a requirement.
No subscription = no siren, no keypad, basically no alarm system. All you get is notifications on your phone if motion detected or door breach.
Can it generates a guess code to provide to my dog sitter?
According to their website, yes!
Is the system compatible with apple homekit and google home?!!!
Wyze does not support homekit, but it does work with google home.
Can you havd professional monitoring but set it up to where it does not contact them under certain circumstances?
Hi LittleLadyk2002, I'm trying to figure this out from Wyze right now. Have you come up with an answer yet?
@@SecurityDotOrg No, if and when I will let you know.
Can all the Wyze cam versions (V2) or pan cam be linked to the hub or Just the V3?
