Hey Pete, I really enjoy your videos... Just recently they've started popping up in my UA-cam feed, I had never heard of you nor did I know where you are located. The first video I saw was the one where your neighbor (Adam Buck) helped you go pick up a tractor, I thought to myself "I used to have a neighbor named Adam Buck" then I saw the NY tag on the vehicle and the landscape looked right. So I had to look you up and sure enough. I grew up 8 miles dew east of you, on Salt Road. (Romasoda Farm) it's now owned by the Kelly's Small world. Needless to say, your regional phrases and foods are not lost on me. 😂
LOVE IT!!!!! I’m 1000% excited for the feeder stock idea!! And the three breeds you said are amazing breeds! Only other breeds I’d look for besides the three are Hampshire and old spot! I’m super excited to see where you take this Pete you seriously made my day!
Congratulations on your new venture Pete. It is a terrific idea and I look forward to hearing about your progress. I'm not a farmer, just an old, retired analyst. Seems to me that you are extraordinarily successful in maintaining the lineage of your Dexters, and seem to think with high quality genetics, a couple of hogs, like your two bulls, you can grow out several generations, and based upon your 5-year service life, may be able to avoid AI. Sorry for poking my nose in your venture but it is very exciting. Good luck! Thanks for your videos!
If it lies within you to do, stepping up the pig game is a beautiful contribution to both your community and the long term sustainability of the independent pig keepers. It's a lot of work, it's a lot more land to commit, but it's something you could do, and do well. Whatever way you decide, do what is best for you, farm & family, and remember to have fun!
I really like the chore videos around the farm. Sounds like a good idea on the good quality heritage pig breeding too. It’s definitely an untapped market!
Oh Pete - it's a great idea to start the feeder pig business. I kind of knew you were in awe of that enclosed barn where you went to get the piglets. I'm not surprised, it was a nice set-up. I'm a business advisor and say - GO FOR IT!!! You and Hillary and the family have a wonderful Thanksgiving and we'll see you back soon!
Yes Pete, build a Coverall and sell feeder pigs! You’ll have boars and sows to supply plenty of piglets to raise out or to sell. I think you’ll make money on this!
Ps.. I love the chore videos. When I come home stressed and even sad from work... (healthcare) I hear your voice and feel peaceful and safe again. Thank you.
Build it. Do it. Choose breeds that do well in your region. Maybe even a couple boutique/ specialized breeds for the restaurant industry. Good money there.
I’m sorry to hear about Oreo. 😞 For me, it’s hard, even though they aren’t pets, they still weigh on my mind. I’m quite excited to hear about your future pigventure! That will be fun (for us viewers) and hopefully bring some profitability to the pork side of the business.
Im excited to see where the new venture takes you. Good luck. Thanks to you and a handful of other channels on youtube this year I raised 3 hogs myself and am already looking to expand further in the future.
I'm so glad I get to experience your morning chores. I am moving from OR back to WI to start my life goal of running a regenerative agriculture farm. I aspire to be as cheerful and do the same hard work as you. Thank you Pete!
@Vincent Carroll what drugs I will grow doesn't matter right now lol. Look it up. Less like specific farming types (monoculture) "dairy farms, beef farms." Think sister crops/companion crops but large scale with selective animal grazing.
I think that’s a great idea. I think you have a discerning clientele that is willing to pay more for a quality product. Heritage breeds in livestock are all the rage today. Best wishes!
Thanks for sharing you morning with us Pete. Nothing better to sit in the warmth of my office and watch you guys struggle with the cold. Your videos make the coffee even better. Keep up the great work. Your philosophy is always right on.
When you were picking up your feeders, I was impressed by how it was set up. It looked really nice and easier to maintain for sure. You have done what needs to happen, recognize a need, come up with a solution to fill that need, and you WILL be successful. GO FOR IT!!!
Watching for years. You are a fine and decent man. Built the farm the correct way. Best of luck in new venture and waiting for updates and future successes.
I'll enjoy watching you improve to be more productive for the pig community. You're channel is one of my favorites to watch, you are very calming for me.
I discovered your UA-cam videos about a year ago. I am compelled to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I look forward to every new one. In this crazy world you and your family are a “breath of fresh air”. Thank you for all you do….and please keep the silly jokes coming! Cindy from California
Ho refreshing to see a REAL farm where everything doesn't look perfect but the animals are all happy and healthy!!! I grew up on a Dairy farm that was average size back in the 50s & 60s before production changed over to bulk tanks and pumper 18wheelers coming to the farm daily. We also had hens mostly for our own use & horses just for our riding pleasure. The Dairy barn was impeccably clean of course but there were always a few cobwebs up in the corners and the cows who stayed in during our coldddd New Brunswick Canada 🇨🇦 winters happy to eat & drink and sleep in their stantions pooped in a gutter which the mechanical barn cleaner cleaned out at least 2 times a day, took out a tall elevator on an angle from the barn and dropped into a giant manure pile till spring. Modern for its time because our barns burned to the ground 2 times in 3 years and the 2nd time it was a brand new barn and we lost the entire herd because it was winter 💔 😢
Hi Pete, You are terrific. Just like the Energizer Bunny, you just keep going with enthusiasm. I have followed your channel for quite some time and have truly enjoyed each and every video. Your idea of raising QUALITY feeder pigs seems to fit with your model of operating with quality stock in all you are doing. In my humble opinion, quality, is never a mistake. It always pays dividends in the end result, what ever that may be. Keep up the great work and you and all the family stay safe and God Bless. A faithful follower in Utah
It is always a pleasure to hang out with you and listen to the wisdom and ideas you have. Thanks for bringing us along and enjoy your breakfast. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Diversify is the game to keep being successful on your farm. Good luck with your new adventure (you know your going to do it). I hope you and yours have a great turkey day!
Mr. Pete. I am sooo happy that you all dodge that blizzard. I was worried about the new hen house you two had put up, especially after seeing images of collapsed roofs on tunnels structures like you have for the chickens. I think your idea of raising pure breed starter piggers is a dandy idea. See a need, fill a need. I bet it will be good investment. Hope you and Ms. Hillary stay warm.
I know you don't have the room but my neighbor raises hogs and cattle and all the manure goes into a giant tank. In the tank methane builds up and is stored and powers a generator that feeds all his barns. The liquid out of the tank is sprayed on his fields and the solids are processed into pellets and bagged and sold as fertilizer. It took his a couple of years to get the parts and build everything but his farm is almost completely off-grid now.

I also agree with You.
I excited to see what breeds of pigs Pete trys first. And this should bring in another source of income for the farm.
I am especially interested in the design process of an architect farmer. Please share the design process.
I’m with Howard up above - I’d love to see your architectural design process and can’t wait to see your finished facility!
Awesome Idea. Its very popular in my area. Very specialized market for it.
Good luck with the new venture. Sounds like the iron is hot!
One of my favorite channels!
Pete
I think you have a good idea. That is what a farmer is. Always thinking ahead.
Piggys blowing bubbles in their slop.....too funny...great video, really enjoyed it. Thanks Pete..!!
I can tell Hillary appreciates the simple farm life. It's good to see you share a dream. Hard work but definitely satisfying.
Good morning. Stay warm.

Piglet blowing bubbles in slop! 🙂
Started shivering watching this! Funny my late sister use to say We wait to eat like one pig waits for another!" teehee
And happy thanksgiving...ps think the idea to raise piglet stock, is a great idea!
*Those are happy pigs, I wish to see more pig farms like them*
Hello all from Siesta Key Florida
The cattle must love winter. No flies!
I can't wait to see the new pig barn build!!
Sounds like a great idea with the new pig venture. I wish you much success with it! Will be fun to watch you develop it.
Even with your freezing face I can see the joy in your eyes! I'm excited for you. New Pig Venture - woot woot woot! :)
I really like the chore videos around the farm. Sounds like a good idea on the good quality heritage pig breeding too. It’s definitely an untapped market!
Great to see Pete's farm video this holiday season.

Good thinking Pete, flow with the market demands!👍
OMGOSH!!! The piglet nose bubbles were too cute!!! 😂❤
I love how the little piglets blow bubbles in their feed pan!! So many memories, keep up the good work!!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving EVERYONE!
I am looking forward to your new project.
Yes Pete, build a Coverall and sell feeder pigs! You’ll have boars and sows to supply plenty of piglets to raise out or to sell. I think you’ll make money on this!
I think the economics are also non linear. One board to one sow is much worse than one boar to 10 sows!
Ps.. I love the chore videos. When I come home stressed and even sad from work... (healthcare) I hear your voice and feel peaceful and safe again. Thank you.
I'm excited for your new venture. Can't wait to see how it goes
Good idea sir

Love the idea of the feeder pigs. One more thing that will help your local community with quality stock. Can’t wait to see the new building for them.

Pete! Sorry to hear about Oreo! 😕 I really liked her markings. Happy Thanksgiving to the Larsons!!
Good to see you Pete. Go inside and warm up!!! Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving

I think idea for a new venture is a wonderful one.
What animals do you plan to keep on your farm?
I just love watching the piglet making bubbles hahaha while eating. New viewer but loving all the videos
I like the idea of the breeder pigs. It will be fun to see you design and work out the workflow for the care of the breeder pigs.
Is it so! I can't believe it. FIRST to comment. Next to be first for thumbs up. GREAT JOB!

This is architectural farming! I can't wait to see this.
I think that’s a great idea. I think you have a discerning clientele that is willing to pay more for a quality product. Heritage breeds in livestock are all the rage today. Best wishes!
Their are a lot of channels out there but i watch this one all the time love hearing what you have to say
Sounds like a good opportunity
Good evening and good health, Peter, to you and your household and the animals you take care of, may God protect you and take care of you 🌹
That little pigglet was more interested in blowing bubbles in the slop than eating it 🤣
I look forward to seeing what you end up doing regardless, thanks for sharing.
We named our old cows Hamburger because that's all they were good for but maybe the Dexter's are like a fine wine!! Lol great video pete!

Great video and I'm glad to see you dodged the snow storm. I'm looking forward to the new pig venture.
Happy Turkey Day to all my American friends.
I had Turkey day last month. 🇨🇦
Hi Pete, the new pig venture sounds like a great idea, good luck. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and be safe.
We have to deal with the extreme hot weather here in Texas during the Summer. I am glad we don't have to deal with the cold weather you have Pete.
Happy turkey day Pete and family!
Love the new venture idea. Will make the next couple years really interesting on the channel. Good call for the channel too!
I'll enjoy watching you improve to be more productive for the pig community. You're channel is one of my favorites to watch, you are very calming for me.
