Love the overkill... but why did you blue the inside of the bells and especially oil them after? Won't the oil attract and hold dust? I like it, but what made you choose to mix paint sheens on the motor?
Good questions! I'll let you in on a secret: after I blued the inside of the bells, I realized that dust would collect inside there, so I cleaned it all out and painted it instead. Much better now. And I painted the motor in two tones because that's how it seemed to be done originally. I liked how it looked and wanted to recreate that.
