From The Basement
Приєднався 22 сер 2007
Welcome to the basement! Stay awhile...
You never know what you might find here. We'll do some home improvement projects, build furniture, restore tools and other useful objects, and dive into whatever else strikes our fancy. Hopefully we'll all learn something, and have a bit of fun on the way.

You've heard the story before: I needed something but couldn't find it. I was looking around when it dawned on me that I should tidy up. So I did! See the results here at 32x speed. I never did find what I was looking for. It's got to be somewhere else in the basement. More on that to come! Watch this space!
What holds the front pulley on
Love the overkill... but why did you blue the inside of the bells and especially oil them after? Won't the oil attract and hold dust? I like it, but what made you choose to mix paint sheens on the motor?
Good questions! I'll let you in on a secret: after I blued the inside of the bells, I realized that dust would collect inside there, so I cleaned it all out and painted it instead. Much better now. And I painted the motor in two tones because that's how it seemed to be done originally. I liked how it looked and wanted to recreate that.

Molto Bravo, lo fossero anche i nostri politici, avremmo molti problemi in meno.
Try using a ball peen hammer to “cut” the tape. It works pretty well for me. Great restoration.
I think .. you need a sandblater...
Fantastic work. She’s a real beauty.
Quite the score conisdering how much these cast brand new.
That vice came out great. I picked up a Dunlop vice very similar to yours and cleaned it up. I love to clean up old tools and bring them back to working condition.
Nice video, congratulations. you worked hard. such a workshop is what we all dream of :)
If you're listening with the sound up, I apologize for my heavy breathing at times during this video! I will try to cut down on that in future uploads.
It wasn't so bad but try putting the mike closer to the work in future, more work sounds less breathing sounds
