Thankfully for the patience that god given you to teach us
You do not need to apologize. Beginners need exactly what you are doing. Hope you do some more with these great teaching techniques.
The first hat I knitted came out terrible. I had an issue learning the magic loop. My second hat looks so professional and I am so proud. I cannot thank you enough because I am donating all my knitted hats and scarves to the needy. You’re the best! Thank you. 😍🧶
This is my favorite video. I like how it starts with what I need, explains the plan and things like how you will decrease, making sure stitches aren’t twisted etc. It’s perfect for a true beginner. It’s like having a coach sit next to you. Thank you!
I just recently found your channel and I swear nobody else has been nearly as thorough as you. I love how you teach and am so happy I found you!
I'm over a year late, but I FINALLY found a video that walks me through changing from 16" to magic loop. THANK YOU! (All the other ones I found walked me through switching to DPNs, which always result in me failing a hat and throwing everything in the knitting basket out of frustration.) Also, great tutorial technique. Clear instructions, clear voice, and good camera work.
This is the one and only video that I have seen of finishing a hat using the magic loop . I will now buy one. There are dozens showing hats with the magic loop but you are the first that I saw anyone finishing one. You are a great teacher. Thanks
I came across your video about 2-3 yrs ago, and made 2 hats. Working on #3. I love how well and thorough you and. You're the Best ❣️ Thank you 😊
If you simply start knitting with the longer cable it will transfer automatically over the course of the round... save yourself the extra step... I love how detailed your videos are... So many gloss over or downright skip details they think are generally known... sometimes those "duh" details are exactly what I need to see... Thank you!
Hi! I really enjoyed your tutorial. I thinking that simplifying the steps is really the way to go. There are so many other tutorials on UA-cam that either go too fast or leave out info assuming it’s not necessary. I will definitely be making this hat many times over. I give to homeless vets a lot so I make a lot of hats. Thank you for your efforts and I look forward to seeing more from you.
Great video! I could never get how magic loop works and you made it very easy to understand. I also haven't done much knitting with changing colors, so this was also a bonus. Thank you.
Im a new knitter, maybe 3-4 months and I just finished this hat, I still can’t believe I knit a hat… thank you so much for this tutorial.
You are a good instructor. It was easy to understand what you are saying and I love the close up of you knitting.
Amazing! You are awesome! Learned your brioche stitch and did a scarf! Thank-you for being so patient!
I can't thank you enough for your long and very detailed video on this hat! I've always had a problem with using doubled ended kneedles to decrease. Actually, I've never done the magic loop, so you have helped me tremendously! You've been a real blessing to me hon😉
I've never knitted anything my whole life but now I really really want to try and make a hat and scarf. Thanks for the video.
I have been watching so many knitting tutorials trying to learn. This has helped me so much with decreasing for a hat, and is by far the very best I have seen. Thank you so much for sharing.
Beautiful colors charolette, better a video is too long, rather than too short. You are the best in teaching. Thank you
Thank you for this tutorial! It’s so thorough that I feel confident that my first time knitting in the round will be successful!
What a wonderful tutorial! You are a very good teacher who knows every possible doubt that could be there for a beginner! 👌👍🙏
Thanks for sharing this video. The way you've explained the magic loop needle to decrease was very helpful.
What an awesome tutorial. Makes me feel like I can knit my very first hat. I love how you went step by step
The best and most comprehensive tutorial there is.Thank you so much
The best magic loop description I've seen. I have been leery of trying it but you make it look easier than those dpns. Thank you!
Great video. I started yesterday & finished my first hat today. It came out great! I have the ChiaoGoo twists that you have, expect I have the interchangeable set, it has a connector so you can attach different length cables together, so instead of having to transfer over to the magic loop, I started with the 14” cord and then connected the 22” cord to it when it was time to switch to magic loop. It made it super easy, especially with your in depth tutorial! This was my first knitting project, can’t wait to start my next one. Thanks again for the great video
Thank you for sharing your hat pattern. just finished my one and I just love it
YESSSSS! I finished it!!! Thanks soooo much for this step by step tutorial, you made my first knit hat a DREAM experience! Gonna get started on my next one and I can’t wait!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
This yarn was AMAZING by the way, so soft and easy to work with. Also these are my new favorite needles!
Yay... I'm so happy that you're happy! ❤
Nice to have a full-length hat tutorial. I find putting stitch markers between each decrease is helpful (especially if you are a beginner)....NO COUNTING!!!! And don’t forget to switch the needle tips when moving to magic loop. Most people don’t have 2 sets of the same size circular tips...especially beginners who would need this tutorial. 🤷🏻♀️
Hippy Chick I’m new to knitting, crocheting for years. Now I’m can knit dishcloths and cowls! But the closing of a hat was a nightmare! Did it on 40cm circular needles and got big holes! I like this tutorial a lot, but wondered about what you said about switching tips. Does that make is easier? Let me know please! I need all the help I can get!
I like that she keeps repeating it, there's no way that you'll get lost in this video 😁
Good job 👍
Thanks for showing the difference between a knit and purl that helps immensely
Your step by step was right on I have not done this magic loop for knitting will check that out before I start the pattern excellent tutorial
knitted IS a word it is the past tense of Knit! love this vid it is so helpful thank you
So wish I watched this before I bought dpns, it was like wrestling a porcupine, love your video
This video is extremely long BUT GREAT for us beginners! I loved every detail. Thank you so much for the long video. Lol I have watched so many videos and I never got the info I needed
I have not bought that yarn yet but the first time I saw it at Wal Mart I loved it. Anything made with that will be super soft. One of my goals this year is to learn to knit a hat.:)
Wilson Street trust me this was my first hat and I’m a beginner knitter also. This tutorial will make you want to make nothing BUT hats!! Charlotte is an amazing teacher and her instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. Go for it! What’ve you got to lose? You can do it!!
I came I saw I napped, Thanks for the encouragement!
You were so patient with instructions. Thank you.

Your are an awesome teacher. Loved the video very much. Thanks so much.
Thank you! ❤
Hello I came across your video I'm so happy I did I have seen so many tutorial. None of them caught my interest in watching but your video was step by step word by word. I would say is the best video for beginners like myself to knit a hat. I did enjoyed it thank you so much.
Great video from start to finish, probably the best knitting instructional video that I have viewed. Thanks
Beautiful hat, the contrast of the colors, perfect, I loved it, thank you again Zoe
Omg 😱 i was looking for a really good Step by step video. And i can finally make my beanie. Thank you for not beating behind the bush and just working through the entire process 😭❤️

Thank You now I made a very nice hat, and learned magic loop
I love the top of the Hat the way it came out
Thank you so much for your complete explanation and tutorial. I love this pattern ❤
This is exactly what I needed to do hats, I am glad it is long. Thank you.
It was really a super deatiled tutorial.. I crochet and love crocheting but I would really love to master knitting too.. It was awesome how you made knitting look like 'oh!! it's so easy'.
I have tried knitting a few times but have given up(initially the stitches were too tight and it made an impression of the pointy needle in my index finger while trying to knit or perl, next time the stitches were loose and some came out of the needle.. Aaarrghhh) I thought knitting was not for me... But this tutorial hs inspired me to pick up those knitting needles again..♥️
Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate this method!
Awesome tutorial ,thank you for the great tips, on how too do the magic loop, ZZZ
I really appreciate this video it's so easy to follow thank you so much
Thank you so much for such a clear detailed explanation! My hat turned out great!

Brilliant video! I could not stop watching 🙌🏻👏
Very nice hat. Your tutorial explained every step exceptionally well. Thank you.
Good job a real tutorial. Thanks
Wow great instructions. Thank you for taking your time on the decreased part. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I just subscribed to your channel and I’m looking forward to more videos.
Thank you Mayra! ❤
Thanks so much for the step by step tutorial! It was very informative. 😊
I just ordered some yarn to make a hat for a cousin in Sweden, using your instructions. His wife just died so I’m going to do it in gray, Black, and purple - purple being the pancreatic cancer awareness color as well as her favorite color. Thanks for the help and inspiration.
Glad I found your channel...you are a wonderful teacher ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
6:20 that was a very brilliant idea before what I will do is I will wrap it as many times as the stitches that im gonna make like 90 times thanks so much 😁🥳
Thank you so very much!!! This was so informative and easy to follow and understand!
Thank you for taking the time to teach those of us who are beginners! I appreciate your work and look forward to more down the road!!!! I was wondering since you mentioned your efforts to do fair isle in a previous video, if you could do a tutorial on that and on the duplicate stitch. I am kind of intimidated by colorwork and for some reason have the impression that the duplicate stitch is easier than intarsia. Oh yeah, and some time maybe you could walk us through how to knit a sweater!!! But I'm not close to being there yet, haha.
Take care and thanks again.
Beautifl hat, Great instructions. Your video was not too long, it was perfect. Thank you.
This is one of my favourites. Followed closely by the fair isle videos. 😁
This was too very very good. Thankyou for this tutorial.
this was one of two videos that helped me the most making my very first knitting... i did a hat and it did turn out looking great, albeit using 6.5 mm needles it came out it a bit too big, with 90 cast on stitches, and worsted weight. oh well guess ill need to do a second one.
Hi again! This is one of my favorite videos you've put out for us. I've really learned a lot over the months from your channel. You taught me Judy's magic CO and how to do magic loop! I hope you don't have UA-cam burn out. :(
UA-cam is awesome and I know they are going to invest a great deal more into their education section.
Keep up the good work!
I just found your channel. I have tried for a year to learn this craft. Alas, thus far I have failed. I watched you knit this hat & am encouraged to try again. You remind me of Chrystal on Bag Of Day crochet. She is a marvelous teacher. She goes slow, and shows you where to put your crochet hook for the next stitch. She is very patient. You do the same thing. I really want to try again with your instructions. Do you have any videos for beginners?
Thank you so much 😊 I appreciate it looks very nice and I learned a good method from you
u can twist color after last stitch to bring colours up a row it also tightens things and your not left w/ dangling loops
Ok i will have to rewatch a lot to get this. I crochet but im still trying to learn the knitting. It harder for me to catch on to it.but i will get it.
Thank you for this tutorial. I have never knitted before and I am following your videos to make this hat. Mine is dark gray, black, light gray. I am still getting the hang of it and I messed up and had to just unravel the whole thing once because I wasn't sure how to undo it or where my mistake even began. But 2nd time is going well so far!
ty so much for this great video you are an AMAZING Teacher i learn so much from you ,,keep up the great work and enjoy the holidays and Be Safe
I soooo want to make this right now!! Thanks for the great step by step tutorial!! ♥️♥️
Excellent teaching
I'd love to see you do a brioche knit hat. I have made two scarves thanks to your great instructions, but am at a loss for doing decreases for a hat. Any chance you'd do one for us?
Darn it Charlotte lol. I watched this so i could learn how to knit in the round (tube scarf as you suggested). Now i want to start a hat too!!
Lol... Matching set??
My dear Charlotte...first of all, you look absolutely adorable in hats! Honestly, that hat looks GREAT on you. Secondly, I LOVE your gray hair. I stopped coloring mine about 3 years ago for the same reasons.. chemicals and thinning hair. The Chemicals in hair coloring cannot be good for our bodies or our hair. Your gray hair looks cool and is in "in fashion" these days. And thirdly:
knitted
adjective
made by knitting, as a cloth article: a knitted bedspread.
KNITTED IS A WORD.
Love your pretty hat! Google "Helix knitting" and it explains a similar way to knit with 2-3-4-5 or more colors. Divide your stitch count by the number of colors and add each color according to the result. Example: 60 sts ÷ 3 (colors of yarn) = 20. So every 20 stitches, add a new color. Stitch one color until you get to the next color and start knitting the new color. Very simple and looks like your beautiful hat!
Thank you for another wonderful video tutorial!
I think Staci from VPN did a tutorial on that.
You would make a great teacher!
Thanks again🌸🌼🌹 Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
Thank you! This is a great tutorial.
I love this your so good. Thanks I have to do this. Thanks Charlotte.
I thank you so much I send a hug
Thank you for your video, it is great and really helpful. One of the best!.
I enjoyed your tutorial and was able to knit my first hat! I was wondering what webcam you have. I like that you can zoom in and out!
Hi, I really enjoyed this tutorial . Thanks 😊
Don’t be sorry your doing a great thanks🎉
Great tutorial ❤
Am just making one of your hat i like your work thanks
I am new to knitting winter hats. So far I have knit three. Two came out O.K. and one I had to re-do. This video is really explanatory. I tried the double pointed needles and they are a disaster for me as the stitches keep falling of the needles I was not knitting on. I am going to make a fourth nat using some of the advice from this video.
This was perfect! Thank you
