We are going to Disney for the first time and I booked art of animation!! I got the little mermaid theme room! So excited!!! We are surprising the kids so they won't know till the day we leave!
The Rich Life We love Pop Century too! Our kids have always loved it. Even though it is decades themed it is very appealing to the kids. We have always stayed in the 50's section with Lady and the Tramp. Most of the icons are toys that have had staying power through the decades.
The Beach Club is our favorite resort! We LOVE the pool. We stayed there twice for a week each time and will only book there. We tried the boardwalk for a week and pop for one night and hated both of those places for different reasons. My 14 & 12 yr old love to swim and relaxing at that pool is paradise. The walk to Epcot and HS is so convenient too. And it's one of the smaller of the deluxes so getting to your room and refilling drinks is super easy and quick.
We just got back from a stay at all star movies and we loved it!! So cute and so much fun! We went over peak spring break season and they had split the busses between all three all stars so each resort had their own and everything moved very smoothly going to and from the parks
Oh the art of animation is our favorite!! The theming is amazing and they are so wonderful there!! The food is so good!! We love to have pizza delivered from pop century and have a pool night with it. U will love art of animation!! We have always stayed in the mermaid rooms and love it but we want to try the suite maybe next time!! We love also walking around the resort at night and seeing All the different areas and theming
The Little Mermaid room is Amazing! The colors are so vibrant and the bathroom! Oh my mercy! It is quite a walk from the buses, but if you know that, you are prepared and it's worth it. Your girls are going to flip out. Who are we kidding? You are going to flip out, too. I know I did. 😂
Art of Animation is our favorite. Just take a stroller if you plan on being at the parks late, my daughter is a month older than Natalie and really needed her "Ari bubble" to get back to the room after a late night at magic kindgom ;) and the little mermaid rooms are far from the bus stop. We walked around Pop Century and after Art of Animation we weren't impressed.
We are DVC members and usually we go to Disney World once a year for at least 9 days like you we are theme park people, We usually get a deluxe studio with handicapped accessible (our mom uses a wheelchair), out of the 9 days 3 of those days we relax in the resort. hang out at the pool have lunch there then for dinner we will either go to disney springs or the boardwalk or we eat at the resturant at the resort. We have stayed at bay lake tower, old key west, both animal kingdom lodges,, port new orleans riverside, wildnerness lodge, They all have their unique charm but our favorites are wildnerness lodge and Bay like tower (which is our DVC home resort.
I also like the experience of different resort stays. I've done all 5 values, all 4 moderates and 2 deluxes. I like all three levels and I choose my resort to fit my trip. My list from favorite to least is Wilderness Lodge, Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside, Beach Club, All star Music, All Star Movies, All Star Sports, POP, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, and Art of Animation. I'm looking at Old Key West or Animal Kingdom for my next trip as I'm taking my folks along.
Yes! See that's what I like too, I love that I can go to a different resort and it totally changes the feel of the trip! It makes each WDW vacation feel totally different and I'm really loving that aspect since we are newer to staying at the resorts! ♥
We stayed at AOA as our first Disney property hotel and we loved it. Little mermaid is my favorite Disney movie and it had just opened and was very clean. The downside was it is pretty far set back so its a lot of walking to the main hall, especially at the end of a long day, but the theme can't be beat with Nemo and Cars too.
I live in FL and I like to look at the hotels, especially the Disney ones. AKL is on my bucket list it is a beautiful resort. AOA is sooo pretty. If you are coming for Christmas I would recommend the Grand Floridian. It has one of the best Christmas displays at Disney. If you ever want to go hotel hopping, (just to look at them) I'll go with you.
Your family is exactly like mine! It's all about the theming. You will absolutely LOVE Art of Animation resort! One tiny negative (and it's a small one) .. during busy times, the Lil Mermaid pool area does get popular, and sometimes loud. You may want to either 1) get a room on third floor if your family ever needs a nap. It's quieter up there. Or 2) get a Cars room suite. They're more expensive, but much roomier, closer to main bldg, bus, etc.. and I enjoy the pool area more myself. But if your kids love Ariel, u may just go with that, lol!!
Great to hear!! My girls LOVE Ariel, so I think I may even be scrapping my plans for AKL on our next trip and doing AoA instead!! I just feel like the time is right and we need to do it now while they are still so into the characters!! :)
We love AOA, we love the Nemo pool "The big blue" next time we go we are going to stay in a Nemo room. We have stayed in the Lion King rooms really nice
After seeing your first cruise videos, I've been wanting to go on one so badly! I'm so excited to be going on one in April AND staying at Art of Animation resort too. I'm staying in the Lion King suite. So it's a land and sea trip!!!
One of our goals is to stay at every resort as well. We've done 6 so far! I love that you had a positive experience with a split stay. We are trying that for the first time in august. 6 nights at AOA (Little Mermaid) & another 6 nights at Poly. If your family loves the character theming then you will LOVE AOA! We love the Little Mermaid rooms! It's a must see! Sounds amazing with a split stay at AKL. Thanks for doing this video. It was very informative!
My favorites of the 6 we have stayed at are Wilderness Lodge and French Quarter. WL is a quick boat ride to MK. French Quarter is a small resort so no matter where your room is you are close to everything.
Hi Di! I love All Star ⭐️ movies 🎥 too!! You would love Port Orleans French Quarter. The pool is amazing and the girls would love it. It's a smaller resort so there's not much walking... you are close to everything!
we stayed at art of animation and trust me your kids will love it , if you go try to ask in front desk if you could get a room at the triton's building on the 4th floor so at 9 you could watch the fireworks from the park thru the window is so close to the hollywood studios that you guys can enjoy the fireworks from ur room this resort has a gorgeous pool animated pool with nemo , it also has a nice arcade room for the kids, im not sure if ill stay again because i wanted to surprise my little girl with a princess royal room at port orleans resort riverside so will see lol

I stayed during my last first trip at All Stars Sports and everything was pretty ok for being a value resort. I had everything I needed when returned from the parks we just wanted to rest and have a nice bed to sleep! so it worked out perfectly :) Of course, a Little of extra magic with a moderate or deluxe resort never hurt nobody hahahaha
I think All Star Sports would be fine and I think it would be GREAT if we had a kid what was into sports, lol... just don't have one of those right now. I think because we are character focused, those are the resorts that appeal to us the most right now. As they get older, that may change - but right now that is what is bumping resorts like AoA & ASM up the list! ♥ Thanks for watching!
My picks for resorts are pretty much the same as yours. We've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and the Caribbean Beach so far. We are a family of 4 with two girls ages 8 and 5. I think Animal Kingdom Lodge is next on our list, but it just depends on when we decide to go back and what all we plan to do while we are there.
Yep, just a 4 day trip down, so just got a 3 day park hopper, a little Disney is better than no Disney....we are excited, and I will let you know how we like AKL.
We loved Pop Century. We stayed in the 60"s in a preferred room. We loved that we could walk across the bridge and visit AOA. Also came in handy when the pop bus was full and the AOA bus wasn't. This next trip were hoping to stay at Beach Club. Have you thought about joining DVC? We are going back and fourth about buying a resale contract. We're going to rent DVC points this coming to try it out first.

If I stay at the All Star Music resort, can I go and have dinner at a restaurant at a delux resort? 4. Are the pools or restaurants restricted to people staying the resort associated with that particular pool or restaurant? 5. What do you get at a deluxe resort that you don't get at a budget resort?
Yes he takes regular naps except when something exciting is going on so I think don't know how he'll respond to Disney world since Mickey is his all time favorite lol

My girls don't nap currently, so we just power through the day - I have taken them when they were younger and still napping ( ages 9 months, 2 yo, 3 yo, etc.) and we always just had them nap in the stroller. The difference was we didn't stay on property for those trips, I might do it differently if I was staying on property... just go back to the room for a bit, have them take a nap and then go back into the park in the evening. I do think it is handy when they will nap on the go. You definitely get lots done that way! ;)
Tam Freeman we went in December with 2yr old twins and we would go to the parks early and go back to the resort at around noon 1pm rest and go back around 5pm it works out great with little ones

We always stay at port Orleans riverside. We don't have preferred an I'm a little worried. Will it be lots of walking? We don't have young kids but it's been a while since our last trip!
It's a beautiful resort and they have multiple bus stops, so you should always be close to get to transportation at POR - it just depends on how far your room is from the food court to grab food... It seemed easier to get around there than at CBR though, because at CBR if you're on the other side of the lake it takes a while to walk around. ♥ You should have a wonderful time!
Only use them at the resort, but you could refill them before leaving the resort and carry them into the theme park with you or to Disney Springs to drink. Just no place to refill them there.
We mainly only eat there at the food court for breakfast and all of the breakfast food at the resorts seemed about the same - I agree the one time we ate lunch there... I had better food court food else where. ;) We rarely eat at the food court other than breakfast since we're mainly in the parks though, so food court wasn't a problem for us. ♥
beingmommywithstyle I think I'm just spoiled to deluxe resorts. We stayed at the Polynesian a few months ago and I can't imagine anything else now haha.
We love Pop Century! We prefer Pop over all star movies. The pool at Pop is awesome and the food court is great.
I have heard a lot of people like Pop and it is the largest resort on property! ;)

We are a value resort family. We are at the parks from open to close. We have done riverside and we did not like it. We love art of animation.

can you use rapid usable mugs at disney springs????

Alma Hernandez you can only use the mugs at the resorts, however, if you visit another Disney resort, you can take your mugs with you and use them. 😊

All star movies just had a terrible food court. That was my one problem with it.
We mainly only eat there at the food court for breakfast and all of the breakfast food at the resorts seemed about the same - I agree the one time we ate lunch there... I had better food court food else where. ;) We rarely eat at the food court other than breakfast since we're mainly in the parks though, so food court wasn't a problem for us. ♥
beingmommywithstyle I think I'm just spoiled to deluxe resorts. We stayed at the Polynesian a few months ago and I can't imagine anything else now haha.
