- The newly developed Daedalus Class starship embarks on its shake-down cruise.
I created this using Blender 3.5 and wanted to fill in some of the gaps in what we see on screen. The Daedalus class was designed an built during the 22nd Century as the war with the Romulan Star Empire began to come to a conclusion. Originally, the design was for long range, independent exploratory voyages for the United Earth Space Probe Agency, UESPA.
A short film will follow, I am open to ideas as always.
That is perfection. Love all the little details, exposed bits.
Sure, the Galaxys and Connie's of the world are fun for a weekend tryst, but this Daedalus is the lady you show your momma and marry
..... perfect comment!
I shall never grow tired of seeing this class. Well done! 👍
SO many things to geek tf out over on this--the restyled, more substantial 'neck', the twin round impulse drives, the exposed pipes on said impulse drives consistent w some of ur other designs, the exposed sensor antennae just pokin' out, the phase cannons.........am I gushing?
Damn rite I'm gushing--this was totally freakin' aWeSoMe!!!!!!!!
This era needs more attention.
I love the Daedelus Class. It looks like someone wearing a jetpack. Good job.
Thanks - more to come
The two features I found most interesting out of all the completely amazing details are the double set of pipes going to the nacelles, and the impulse engines. The former had me wondering if on this ship they were plasma conduits and somehow they hadn't figured how to run them through he pylons yet and second the difference in shape for the impulse engine ports. In every other trek they're always angular yet here nicely rounded like the business end of a booster rocket. I like it all, can't wait for the full version.
Love the Daedalus Class - this is amazing work; a feast for the eyes as always.
Glad you like it, just rendering out a full film now
Nice 2001 feel throughout - that “nobody’s out here but something is here” vibe. Sticking with a unique angle like this, versus the borderline patriotic theme we get in conventional Trek, would make it feel more intense, more real.
Woot - great work! Can't wait to see what these two vintage vixens have in their weapons bays!
Hints of the Earth-Romulan War...? Let's hope so.
The light, the sound, the models.... just beautifull!
In this ship you can see where the neck of the connie could have come from and the placement of the impulse engines, a lot of the design clues of the later ships are here, and also looking forward to the film.
Really nice variation on the Daedalus. Sensational!
I just love each and every one of these!!
I like it!what's the one thing all of us Star Trek fans have been wanting to see? The romulan earth war conflict! Go get that romulan bastard
This class definitely deserves more love. They are awesome.
Your work is stunning, beautiful and goddamn realistic.
It looks great!
This looks incredible!
I can hardly wait to see the completed work.
I’m just rendering out the scenes now
I'd loved to have seen this class in season 5 of Enterprise.
Cool
OoooOOOOOoooo, love this :)
This has a very Alien feel to it.
Has Anyone Watch Buck Rogers Gill Gerald in the 25th Century. Their Explorer ship in later episodes seems somewhat similar.
What a crazy show that second season was
I allways wounder wy fanproductions like this have better CGI than CBS/Paramount+
Because they've been hiring the wrong people for the job, instead of ones with the merit.
Why you got to make it look like that? That's not what a daedalus-class looks like, but I do admire your variant of it.
the daedalus class apparently was inferior to the nx class if we go with the romulan war fan film... but it's modular and for every 1 nx class you can build like 4 of these daedalus class ships and hence starfleet is like... forget the nx class lol
One thing I disliked about ENT was the ships were a bit too slick. This manages to look primitive and yet entirely in keeping with the aesthetic of Star Trek.
Hopefully the plot isn't the same as the one in a sci-fi novel I read many years ago. You could get yourself in trouble.
Poor ship wouldn’t stand a borg probe
