- Helensburgh stands on the northern side of the River Clyde. It is also close to the mouth of the Gare Loch. It's also within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

lived in Helensburgh from 1965 to around 76, went to Hermitage Primary and then on to the now knocked down bigger school, the place has changed so much, remember as a kid going fishing at the old Faslane base on loch long, one day will return for the weekend, OH and you have a lovely accent
Thank you. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. Hopefully, you'll get back for a visit.
I grew up in Helensburgh, spent 20+ years in the town before moving to the USA for work. I miss it. A lot. I might have cried watching this as you passed my mums house. Helensburgh is a lovely wee town, I know its not for a lto of people but its home and I can't wait to come home.
Sadly the Waverly doesn't service Helensburgh anymore, the Pier is not in good condition and boats can no longer service it. You used to be able to get the ferry to kilgreggen or gourrock from the pier but not any more.
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. Sorry for making you cry. It is a shame that the Waverley no longer goes to Helensburgh. It would be amazing if it did again.
One of my favourite stops in Scotland. Thank you. This is the best video on this area..,thise fast drive through videos are useless. Congratulations well done so nice to hear your accent, I miss Scotland.
Thank you. I’m so glad that you enjoyed it. I hope that you’ll be able to come back for a visit
I always love watching your videos. I’ve not been to Helensburgh in over 20years. Forgotten how pretty it is. My hubby took me there on a day trip when we were dating. Fish n chips plus an ice cream. Glad you had a lovely day.
That sounds like you had a lovely date. Yeah, it was a really nice day when I was there.
Beautiful day and nice views of Helensburgh!
It was definitely a lovely day and it was just nice to be able to wander around Helensburgh.
Thank you for taking us along on your visit. I always love seeing Argyll.
Glad to be of service. I love Argyll as well.
@@AScottishOdyssey I'm hoping to be able to get up to Argyll soon. Fingers crossed.
@@siog849 Hopefully you will get back up for a visit.
I was in Helensburgh 2017 with my friend. We took a trip in the footsteps of the characters from the book of Jules Verne "Green Flash". Love it!
Oh, that's a Jules Verne book that I've not heard of. I'll have to look that up. I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit to Helensburgh. Thank you for watching my video.
Helensburgh looks like a lovely town.
It was certainly a lovely wee place to go for a wander.
you just walked past my house from 30 years ago , just beside the commodore the one getting its roof fixed greetings from australia
Small world. I hope that you enjoyed the video.

@@alistermcmillan1039 I will have to go back at some point, and enjoy a chippy
I think John Logie Baird invented the Television, not the ☎️. Anyways I was looking for a video on Helensburgh as I will be travelling to there this Saturday 10th September from Brighton on the coast of Southern England, and I’ve already got a room booked at the travelodge that featured early in your video. It looks a gorgeous town.
My mistake in relation to John Logie Baird. I hope that you enjoy your trip to Helensburgh. You can also drive down to Loch Lomond.
@@AScottishOdyssey Thank you so much your reply, I looked on google maps and its only like 3 miles or something. I am actually a taxi driver in Brighton and I have a job booked Saturday to take a client to Helensbugh from Brighton, you can imagine the shock and excitement I felt that I was getting a chance to go to Scotland again, and actually be paid for it, it is a little bit drive though, around 500 miles and I will have to drive 500 more to get back home lol :-) it really is tha far honestly, but i will have the proclaimers in my head come Saturday. Anyways, so I thought I would stay the night and get up early Sunday and go to Loch Lomond. I went there once when I was a 17 and it was just magical to me. So now being 43 I cant wait to experience that feeling of awe once again again.
That's a big job. I hope that you're getting well paid for driving that. Yeah, I can totally understand having the Proclaimers in your head for that one. Luss, which is the really pretty town on the shores of Loch Lomond, is about 9 miles from Helensburgh. That's really worth visiting. Just bear in mind, that, if you do go to Luss, you will have to park in one of the two visitor car parks and walk through the town. So, have some change for the parking.
It looks like you had a lovely day for it
Yeah, it was a lovely day
Hello there hen. So your on the opposite and across from My pad Greenock Not a bad day good day for fishing take it easy
I am over due a wee explore of Greenock. I do having a lovely day for going on a wee adventure.
Sorry to inform you but John Logie baird was from Helensburgh and invented the television, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone ☎️ years before.
My mistake
@@AScottishOdyssey that's OK everybody makes them, I'm going up there next week is the witherspoon worthy of a visit??.
I have to admit, I don't know. I don't frequent Witherspoons pubs. I'm sure that it will be the same as any of the pubs in that chain.
I am literally doing the same as you I am trying to vlog every place in scotland. Today I did Linwood
I never thought about visiting Linwood. What’s there to visit? Have you been to the Wallace Memorial in Elderslie?
@@AScottishOdyssey Yes I went there last week Linwood theres quiet a few things i mean its bigger than lochwinnoch
@@YahiaChamp21 I know where the ASDA is
@@AScottishOdyssey cool
Lol you walked past my brothers home on the seafront 😜
Did I? He has a lovely view.
Don’t worry about it
