Can this be used form start to finish on the foredge of books ?? Really taking place of sandpaper ? As a prep for foiling and/or coloring edges ?? I’d appreciate any feedback and God bless
I usually finish with a very fine sandpaper. But you don't have to. It is much harder to learn but once you work it out it is faster. For foiling and colour I just use sandpaper. Colour doesn't need such a high quality finish and for foil is can slightly hollow out the edge, which is fine for leaf, but for foil it makes it hard to get enough pressure evenly across the surface.
I have wanted to learn to sharpen my card scrapers and your video is an excellent tutorial. Thank you! I will share it with my woodworking community.
Thanks! There are some good YT videos on sharpening scrappers. A well covered subject. All the best, DAS
Very useful demonstration, thank you
Thank you!
@DAS Bookbinding: If you fix the title from "scrapper" to scraper, you may get more hits here. I'm a Veritas fan too!
Thank you once again for such interesting videos!
Thanks for sharing!
thank you (again!)
